Although I had a challenge logging in on the night of my move-in because of technical glitch, the GM Amit was extremely helpful the following morning getting me all squared away. He did a tremendous job getting me access and even helped me move my things into the storage unit. Absolutely top quality service, far beyond anything I could have expected. The reps at the UHaul on S. Capitol St provided me with helpful information and also worked with me to get the U-Box ready as early as possible on Sunday, which I really appreciated. The U-Box container had some holes in it and was not particularly stable when I was driving it hitched to my vehicle. The bottom floor was separating from the side walls and you could see some of the nails. All my belongings were unaffected by the condition, but wanted to let you all know that the container was starting to break apart.

Worst / most dangerous vehicle I have ever rented. 1) The driver's side mirror kept slipping out of place, so I couldn't see adjacent cars even if they were right next to me. Had to drive with the window down and kept constantly having to lean out to push it back up. 2 ) The driver's side door lock was broken. 3) The inside was grimy dirty and even had trash in it under the front seat from a previous driver. Slid out into the footwell while I was driving. In fact, now that I'm writing all this stuff down, I realize I'm super lucky none of that caused an accident and I should probably ask for my money back.

While I support training a new employee, my recent experience was so unsatisfactory that I had to walk out without a satisfactory experience. For me to rent a storage facility I think ten minutes would do it. After 35 minutes and multiple errors I had to leave. It may be a while before I go back there.

1. After going back into the office frustrated after fruitlessly searching for van #6822 (or whatever the number was) in the lot, the staff chuckled and informed me “oh yeah, that van has no number on it. Go back out there and look for the van with no number.” 2. The simple online experience turned into Uhaul HQ having to make two calls to references before I could get the rental? Absurd system. 3. Never again

Leading up to my move out, I called Uhaul several times to ensure that I would be out in time to not have to pay for the month of October. Each time, I could not reach the local office, and was sent to the national hotline. They would tell me they had no power to do anything, but they would send a note to the local manager, and he said he would call me back the next day. He never called back, and I was charged for the entire month despite moving out 1 day into that month's contract. I was out of town leading to the move out and could not personally go into the local office, so the fact that I could not reach it beforehand by phone is inexcusable, and resulted me paying an extra $200 that I should neve have had too. I hope Uhaul actually takes this seriously and refunds me for that last month, because it is entirely the fault of the local and national staff that I had this charge and would never recommend their service to anyone.

A lot, I was rush during checkout, nobody did a walkthrough with me with the truck, I was given wrong direction where the truck was park at, I had to pay a friend to get the padlock off the door, that the store was supposed to take it of before I left the parking lot . It was no set of keys to take the lock off.

Very helpful and kind staff. What U-haul, not this location specifically, should change is the estimate for the Truck sizes, since they are completely wrong. I could not fit my furniture for a 1-bedroom apartment in a 15-foot truck at all and I had to make two trips.

Have people who know what they are doing in that office we got told one thing then we got told another they charged us for an extra day when we only had it for 7 hours. They need customers service training big time. The truck itself didn't run good it was an all around bad experience

So my rental supposided included a dolly and pads, but I didn't need said items. When I mentioned it to the staff, they were like, you were supposed to come back to the front area to pick them up. A) Why wasn't I told that I was supposed to come back up? B) I didn't even want it in the first place? I understand upselling is one thing, but this is just poor business. The person at the front should have been like, “here is your contracts and since you have add ones let me come get them for you.” Instead, they sneakily add stuff and then can't remove it when it is brought to their attention afterwards. A third thing was that the gas level did not match the starting point nor did the ending level match the contract level.

Honor the agreement. I was told I could use the app to pick up the truck. When I arrived I couldn't, then I had to wait 30 min to see someone. I made a reservation for 24hrs. When I arrived I was told I could only use the truck for 5hrs, then I was told I couldn't pay with Apple Pay. So I had to return home get my card and race back because I was told the truck probably won't be there because it was a Sat. By the grace of god I made it back and there was 1 truck left. The man who helped me was so rude. He was insinuating that I paid with someone else's card because I wanted to use Apple Pay. I explained I didn't want to travel with my physical card because I rode my bike there. Anyway, after all that I managed to get the truck 1 1/2hrs later. So minus the rude staff and the fact that everything the agent told me on the phone was a lie, U-Haul is great. If there was a negative star to give I would've chosen it.

The staff was wonderful. I interacted with the general manager while checking in and out and she was very kind. The amount of paperwork needed to rent a unit was ridiculous. Three phone numbers and two addresses? Really? Not to mention everything I filled out online didn't get transferred so the poor GM had to ask me and type everything in again. So inefficient. Lastly, the website advertises a free lock. It is $9.99, which definitely isn't free. The price is good, I just dislike false advertising. Overall, I'd use again. The building was clean, odor free, and seems secure. I did appreciate that each individual unit is alarmed and that there were plenty of carts.

While generally my experience was good, I was extremely disappointed to see how U-Haul is handling COVID-19 and related safety precautions. When I went into the office to close out my account, only one employee was wearing a mask. One of the women behind the helping customers didn't even seen to have a mask nearby. Three men wearing U-Haul shirts also came in while I was there, and they all had their masks around their chin and did not cover their faces the entire time they were in the building. In addition, two people ahead of me in line weren't wearing masks either, and no staff member asked them to put one on. As I'm sure you know, it is against the law in DC not to wear in public during the COVID-19 pandemic. The fact that the staff chose not to be respectful to the health of clients--including clients like me who are pregnant and therefore in a riskier group--is highly unprofessional. It is for that reason I will not recommend this facility to others. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this.

An associate over the phone assured me that the space I was set to rent would be spacious enough to fit a 1 bedroom apartment plus some extra space. When I got to my unit I was not only furious to see the small space but furious with the unit itself. In my spot, there is a large pillar on the side which has taken up a good chunk of space. I am paying almost $200 and I wasn’t even given a space that was entirely empty - don’t understand that logic. I do not plan to overstay my original agreement and will be moving out my belongings after the 2 months I originally signed for. I will look for another storage facility in the surrounding area next time. To be given such a ridiculous space after being assured that it would be sufficient enough only to find out that it has a large pillar taking up valuable space is astonishing.

The worst experience of my life. I will never recommend anyone at that facility. Terrible customer service and infested with rodents issues it distryed everything I own. I went to explain that to store they just threw a pamphlet at me and told me to call the claim in and asked me if they wanted me to sweep my unit out. They had no sympathy. I was just loss and confused and very hurt. I experienced problem from them since day one.
