The mobile app made no sense to use. took too long. it would have been faster to wait in line, which I had to do anyway. Also the first van I got was unusable and I had to be given a second van, which took 30 minutes. When I returned the van the sign told me to wait till a representative came to meet me in the garage. I waited for 20 minutes and finally went inside to find a representative alone on his phone and he told me I could just leaves the keys in the van and go, which was not posted anywhere.Owen C.

Reserved a truck at NE location less than a mile away from where I'm moving. On the day of my pickup, less than a hour before my rental, they changed the location 20 minutes away from me. I asked if the mileage could be adjusted or if there was a closer pick up as this location wasn't accessible to me. Amber Hicks was rude and wouldn't help or look into anything at all. I'm not anticipating chik fil a service, but I also wasn't expecting them to try to make it harder for me. I was told I could wait another hour or so to see if the location had the truck. . Even though that was the reason I was there. She then preceded to tell me it's just 2$ a mile extra and I shouldn't be worried about it. After all of this, the truck barely turned over, the power steering was way off and smelled like it had never been cleaned before.Whitley H.
Make parking available to your customers..On street parking is difficult and requires a permit..one most of your customers will not have especially someone like me who came 4 hours away..Makes the experience a tad negative, but everything else was Perfect!Paul E.

I am pretty unhappy because I ended up paying $64 in fuel costs for a total of 13 miles traveled. I was anticipating using about 2 gallons of gas, so was expecting a fuel charge of $12 or so. But the fuel charge was $34 which is suspiciously low mpg (2 mpg for a 15 ft truck). I was also unaware of an extra $30 fee for the tank being below 1/4. It was at 1/4 when I got it, so I feel like I was set up for that. I feel I should have been specifically warned about that fee. I complained in person at the location and was told a manager would call me later that day. But I have not received that phone call. I marked that I would not recommend this location to get your attention. I would probably recommend it, but would be certain to warn them about the fuel charge rip off so that they would be sure to get gas themselves.Somerville P.

I booked my truck online and opted for the online check-in. However, when I tried to do so, no matter what i tried it would not let me. I thought that since I had ALREADY entered all the relevant information online, I would not need to do this all over again with customer service on-site. This whole process with cust service took over 30 minutes when I was already in a rush. I guess I should just expect to spend this amount of time no matter what while using UHaul. Staff at the S Capitol St SW location were very helpful and understanding.Nicholas S.

If I push mobile pick up the system should actually work for that. Because the system did not work properly I was late picking the uhaul up technically. When I went inside of the store there were 3 associates, 2 were assisting customers and one was just standing behind the register. She looked me right in my face and didn't offer to help. Once one was done assisting customers instead of offering to help, they went to straighten the store. Horrible customer service for that. My time was not pushed back for the systems error or the fact that the associates refused to help when they both saw me waiting. I got charged for 2 days when I only kept the uhaul over night. Do better, this was the epitome of a bad customer service experience.Beverly C.

While the truck worked out it had many miles on it. (134,000+). At that many miles you can assure it had some dings here and there. I had to take about ten photos to ensure I was not held accountable for all of the dings. Secondly, with such an old truck I was a bit worried the gas mileage might not a be as good as with a newer truck. I would prefer a truck with less than 50,000. Again, the truck ended up working out but required lots of time taking photos so I would be held responsible for all of the dings. The staff at the location were great to work with.Jeffrey L.
The truck smelled like smoke. Terrible service. I have to pay a late fee even though I returned my rental on time! Workers ignored me until I yelled for some help. Who knows how long my rental sat there until they decided to check it in. Would not recommend.Jenelle D.

I have rented a storage unit here for may years. The desk staff can be quite helpful and the facility is very clean. The vehicle I rented was also great. However there are issues: employees park personal and unused Uhaul vehicles on or near the loading doc, blocking customer use, often there are not enough carts for a facility this large, they will randomly just keep raising rates, while limiting service (see preceding concerns.)TODD G.

Customer service was nonexistent! I did more work to check out the vehicle than the representative did. I was told to go out back for my vehicle and had no idea which one so I had to jump in every vehicle and see if it'll start. Needless to say, I had to waste time finding the truck instead of having the rep tell me the exact vehicle or better yet inspect the vehicle with me and make sure everything worked.Joseph K.

The truck reeked of stale cigarettes. The truck bed was dirty and had some trash in it. Worst, the gas tank had 21 miles worth of gas left in it, just above empty. With the admonition to return the truck with at least 1/4 tank, I found the whole situation irresponsible and unfair. Next time I will refuse to take such a truck. And I will not recommend a location that does not care for their equipment.Eric Z.

I hate uhaul. Every step of this process is a nightmare every time. Pickup - my pickup location was changed the day before my reservation. This added unnecessary driving. It was also changed to a location that was closed at the time of my pickup, and my reservation was set to pick up in person. 45 minutes lit on fire trying to fix this with customer service, and finally someone clicked a button so I could sign in through my phone - although I specifically did not want to do that in the first place. Truck - gross. The cup holders were the worst of it. The whole inside looked like someone had detonated a soda and taken no corrective action. My girlfriend made me shower before she'd touch me, and I didn't blame her. Also, the the pictures shown for me to approve/dispute were of a brand new truck, so I had to dispute every one. What a pain. The mileage wasn't even right. Drop off - the site didn't list a drop off location less than a mile from our destination, so we called that location and confirmed availability, then brought it up with the service rep while fixing the pickup. This led to another customer service nightmare, since neither of those steps were enough. Finally a service rep had me email in pictures directly and manually fixed the drop off. Why is this necessary? Service - I had extensive conversations with customer service and found them all extremely pleasant. Nice and helpful people. They were the only positive aspect of this experience. U-haul is a nightmare of a user experience. The automatically added up charges at initial reservation, the hidden fees the day of, the disgusting vehicles, the abomination of a pickup/drop off experience, it's all awful, every time. Next time, I'll just call a mover. *I did not directly interact in person with anyone at this location.Andrew B.

Truck had 9 miles more on the odometer when picked up compared to the listed miles on the contract, Had to take the picture to dispute it, which at least was easy to do in the app. 2.) same for full level which was 1/8th tank less than stated. 3.) No-one available when returning the truck during office hours. 4.) Truck was relatively clean inside and out, but not spotless, and smelled like smoke.johannes S.
