Trailer had 2 tires each side, each side had tires that did not match. No tire shop would allow that, from my understanding not legal in bc. Trailer towed rough. Older Trailer but did the job. An inspection checklist for viewing so the person driving can see that the: - Lug nuts have been checked/tightened - Tire pressure is adequate - Oil level is safe - Coolant level is safe - Under carriage has been inspected for damage - Signal lights are working - Brake lights are working - Headlights are working - Windshield washer is working - Brake pads have been inspected and proven safe Etc.samantha W.

Absolute worst experience I have ever had renting a vehicle. Booked it one month in advance and showed up only to be told they never had one. Not what you want to hear on moving day. I strongly suggest you never rent anything from uhaul. Customer service is horrible too as they lie to get out of their mistakes. BEWARE, rent somewhere else like Budget.JASON W.

Our experience was absolutely awful. Our reservation was messed up 3 times, changing locations on us, we showed up to a different uhaul hub where we had a 20 ft uhaul reserved only to be told that it broke downâ€¦ which is fine, but we never received a call about this nor were we provided with another truck. The person helping us at this location called a uhaul rep and we were on hold back and forth for 30 mins. I eventually just went on my phone and booked a new uhaul at this location and it took me 5 mins but we could only get a 15 foot on the day of our move. The atmosphere was awful at this location, rude customers, rude staff. I will never be getting a uhaul again and do not recommend. So appalled.Dave R.

Very poor customer service. Agent didn't helped at all in getting the vehicle for my first appointment, thank God I amade another appointment the next day on which I got the vehicle. Agent guided me to off hour support for getting the vehicle. After wait for 15 mins, I chose for call back option. Waited in the parking lot, got call back, no agent answered call got on hold for another 15 mins and finally got disconnected. Disappointed with the service and also with the vehicle. Also, the representative in the morning that served me seemed very disinterested in helping me and it was as if I was a burden to be dealt with. The truck was not washed outside and the inside looked like a mop had been used to clean the interior. The process to register might work well for US customers but not so much for Canadians. It was extremely complex using the online system and the page crashed at the end when it came time to indicate agreement to the terms and conditions, forcing me to start all over again. The last time I rented from UHaul, it cost me about $50 for nearly the same use. This time it cost close to $100, a 100 % increase in just over a year. The price of gasoline does not exxplain thi sincrease, but gouging the customer so the board can get a fat payout does. Never again!Charles A.

We were trying to check in with our phone - took over an hour. Lock on truck wouldn't open. Truck was in the wrong spot with wrong lock. The person working used a hammer to get it off. Boxes got wet on the bottom from a leak somewhere. Two weeks ago we rented a truck for pick up at a small convenience store in Abbotsford. We didn't do the phone check in. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes. Won't do phone check in again. We want to schedule a move with a 26' truck but don't want to go to Langley to get - as both my daughter and sister had to do last minute. My sister even drove from Ashcroft to Langley only to be told no trucks were available - she had booked one month prior. I'm not willing to take a chance that we have to drive to Langley and/or find out when we get there a truck is not available. Will be renting from Clearway for our move.Terry K.

After spending nearly 30 minutes on hold I was told to return my trailer to a location in Abbotsford that was a 30 minute drive from where I was. Upon arriving it was apparent that the dispatcher had sent me to a location that was closed. I then drove to the next uhaul location and was rudely told "not here" when I told them I need to drop the trailer off, didn't even try to help my figure out what to do. I then drove to Fraser Way. The attendant there was courteous yet initially not helpful as he said I would be charged some penalties if I wanted to drop it off there. I said "not my problem" your dispatch sent me to a closed location, help me fix this please, and I'm not spending another 30 minutes on hold to do it for you. Eventually he did sort it out for me. I wasted the better part of a day trying to return this stupid trailer, time I will never get back. Seriously need to upgrade your customer service.Mike C.
The vehicles milage and gas tank were very wrong on my contract. When i jumped in the van it was a half tank higher than on my contract. The milage was also off by 30kms. I did the math, close to a $50 almost mistake. Luckily i caught this. I see why now uhaul doesnt fill thier gas tanks to the full mark. Easy to rip off the customer. Where we finally ended up we we happy with staff and spot rented. However, this was our third uhaul. The first two said they had trailer parking but they were completely unacceptable to be offered for anything other than a small car. also, you had to make impossible turns to back in. They admitted that others have tried to park but failed. The one spot has someone else's camper over the white line about 8" too, leaving the spot unusable. We spend nearly three hours driving around to get a spot a complete waste of time and added stress. I have been told that a call centre looks at a map of locations off site. They need to have more information like how many feet, how much turning space to determine if a trailer will fit and if they are not sure they beed to transfer call to actual location to verify. Two major issues. When I made the reservation over the phone, I specifically asked if there would be someone to help me hook up the trailer as I have a back injury and I was told all Uhaul trailers are hooked up by staff. When I went to pick it up, the lady told me they don't do that there, and if I wanted someone to hook it up I would need to wait until 1:00 (4 hours). I managed to hook it up myself, and as I was driving out she came out and waved at me to stop. She didn't say anything, but walked around my car. I didn't see her and out the car into gear, then saw her head pop up. I almost ran her over because she didn't tell me she was ducking down between my car and the trailer to check the connections.RYAN B.

I almost never provide reviews but given the experience I had, am willing to make an exception. The employee that assisted me was patient and polite (and I appreciated both that morning). She exhibited competence in her work and was helpful in ensuring I had everything I required. A refreshing delight from today's uncaring, impersonal approach to many service based businesses. If she were to represent a percentage of the staffing throughout U-Haul, you would be well above average. The vehicle rented to me was very unclean and had not been totally checked through. As a result a sufficient amount of marijuana was discovered in the center console by my 6yr old grand daughter who had it in her hands. Being in the center console so close to the driver (myself), put me at risk of having legal issues with the police had I been stopped for any reason, as well as the risk to my grand daughter who found it. When I immediately called the point of rental, the girl answering the phone told me they had made a mistake. When the truck was returned, staff down played the entire situation and said it was not their responsibility. I have rented for years from uhaul and never had this problem, nor their ensuing response. My name is ed Heppner my number is 778 682 4813. I took pictures of the drugs in the console. Understanding as this is as nothing ever goes as planned. In fact I don't really care for that time line expectations. It took over 1 hours and 20 minutes from the time I arrived to the the time I left with the trailer. Was first told I could not take it due to the wiring being broken from the last customer. Then was told to try it to see if the issue was just with their vehicle. Drive down to the trailer to find that the wiring was broken, on the drive back up noticed another trailer that had the wiring on it, I asked if it could be switched and was told yes i can try swapping it. Drive back down and switch the wiring and that one is also broken. Drive back up and finally am told to grab a new one off the wall and go try it. That one worked but had now been there for over an hour at that point. Would have been nice to just pick up the trailer and go rather than my options being fix it or no trailer at that location.DAVID T.

I reserved 3 storage lockers for my move. A transport truck is coming to deliver all the furniture and belongings. I show up to open my units and they tell me they gave my reserved units away to someone else and the only have 2 5x10 units available. I never received a phone call or anything prior and had to go find another unit at the last minute before the movers showed up. I could have came in earlier to start renting the units a few days or weeks in advance if they had told me it would be an issue, but I was never told that. I did everything online and honestly didn’t have to talk or deal with anyone so that was pretty cool... the only thing is my storage was supposed to come with a free lock upon rental online but unfortunately there was nothing in my rental locker when I moved in but that’s ok I had my own lock anyways, other then that everything went smoothShawn N. | Online Move In
The manager Jennifer is awesome lady she is so polite and nice and very accommodating as much as she could be. I would love to deal with her as a manager for ever if needed to she has made my experience with u-haul pleasant and has made up for any problems in the past I've had with other u-hauls on Vancouver island and Surrey. I believe in and trust her and would do business with her any andneverytime I have the chance. She is so awesome of a person and woman I'd would be extremely happy if she was in my life forever that is how easy she has made it for me to trust someone again. Im only giving you above average rating for two reasons. When the new doors were installed the pushed all my storage material into a big pile and left nuts bolts pieces of metal behind. When i mentioned this to the staff, it was like i was bothering them. Plus I now am renting a 5x10 unit. That in reality is only 5 x 9. The last 12 inches is located on the exterior. And i hope your not saying the 10 is the height...So im paying for 50sq feet of air...I woud have given the staff an ok rating. The best part of our experience here was the young lady in the office; Jennifer, I am guessing, is her name. It was her we saw this last time as we emptied our unit. Brought my own padlock, but Would not let me use my own. then when I was standing there with no other option, they charged me for one of their own cheap crappy $10 locks. Then explained the reason for this was so they can easily cut the lock off if they needed too, but assured me that motivated BnE offenders somehow could not cut it. Absolutely horrible, no free month for storage travellers no one way. Drove 1700km and first month free. Rented a uhaul truck with hole in tank and never covered my whole gas bill because I had to return truck.
