The office crew was very kind and the lady Rita with the cleaning service was great. Very kind very helpful. I think she deserves a raise. There was a lot of trash stacked around the trash bins. But in light of life with covid it probably is due to a shortness of staff with the trash service.

They didn't have a universal trailer light to hook up to my van so I could use a pull behind trailer so I had to pay 100 to use a box truck, plus the hook ups on my Ford explorer would have fit but they wouldn't let me use a 8 cylinder 4 wheel Dr to pull it they would rather me pull it with a 2008 dodge caravan. That makes no sense at all.

I reserved a car trailer at the Hershberger location and when I arrived I was told my reservation had been canceled but there were 2 car trailers outside the building. I was told they were already rented so I left. I managed to get what I needed at another location up the road and later that night when I drove by the Hershberger location the same 2 trailers were still sitting in the same place. Not Impressed!!!!

I have always rented U haul many times, moving daughter back to college,truck had no AC there, and back in 95-97 degree heat,sweating all the time,talk To agent, took 10 $off ,never please don't rent U-Haul, their all about the money,not taking care of customers!!!!

It took the person working 5 minutes to help me although he was sitting at the desk. When I asked questions he was annoyed with me and there were nothing available at this location or Hershberger location. Very disappointed but found a cheaper storage unit anyways.

We showed up late but Michael was still helping a customer outside. He stayed beyond his shift and allowed us to get our unit. He didn't have to because we didn't show up because of the bad weather. .

It is always something with Uhaul > charge too much >charge you for stuff you didnt reserve or ask for > attitude when your unhappy because of their services > locked my storage after I has permission to be late >corporate charge you stuff and then the location where you live say they didnt so it and then corporate say they didnt do it either so you dont know who to talk to about it

Was very far away from location driven to. Tried to set up a closer drop off location, but was told due to lots of student rentals, that was not a good idea. In the end, this location was 35 minutes further away with no close gas stations to fill up enroute.

Pay attention to drop off time. I dropped my trailer off 3 hours after my 10 am drop off time. I was charged an extra 30$ for an extra day? I was not made aware that if I didn't drop it off by 10 I would be charged. Kinda stupid I think not like I was 24 hours late

Make sure to put the Utility Dolly in vechicle, when the customer orders it and needs it for their move! Caused my move to be delayed trying to find a Utility Dolly since one was not locked in the truck when I picked up And would have happened again when I rented from same place July 2nd 2021!! Unhappy Customer... thought maybe a mistake the 1st time but the 2nd time .. Fix your process or at least advise customer when they order for Pickup after hours !!!

It wasn't necessarily this location, but the experience with Uhaul overall was poor. I had to call as my pick up date got closer, I never received a call to confirm if I had a truck. Then I was given very mixed information as to whether I was going to have a truck or not. Lucas from Lynchburg office was very helpful and made it so that I had a truck. However, picking up took a long amount of time and dropping it off was very poor. We did a drop off before hours because the truck was needed there at that time. It took 40 minutes to complete the process. The other thing that confuses me, is I was not guaranteed a truck until Saturday before my move (when I had complete an online request for it two weeks prior) yet once I finally did get a truck, I had to have it returned by a certain time for someone to have it on Monday. How did they get a confirmed time to pick it up and have it by when I was not provided that until the day before, and even when I did, I got mixed information as to if I would actually get a truck? Carryover of information, a more solid knowledge of if a truck will be available and knowing this information in a timely matter would help a great deal. Moving is stressful and to find out the day before that I might not get a truck was the last thing I wanted to find out and Uhaul did that. You should try harder to come up with an algorithm that can track the truck to know if someone will be able to reserve one for a certain time frame.

I have ordered a truck from this location 2x in that past 2 months and both times they failed to put the equipment I requested into the truck. ( Utility Dolly) The 1st time , I had to spend time finding another location to get the missing Utility Dolly from, taking 2,5 hours out of my move day ! 2nd time: again NO Utility Dolly in the Truck , luckily I had changed the pick up time from 1030pm to 830pm & arrived around 810/815pm & there was someone inside , even though the door was already locked. I told asked him where is my Utility Dolly as per my order?? he stated they dont give them unless they are there. Why order one then , if you cant get it with your truck if you pick up after hours, they easily could have locked it inside the cab. The first one he gave me was broken, so I knocked on the door again & asked for one that was not broken . finally I got one that would work, but they whole mobile check out was thus delayed and 45mins later finally left the lot

I tried to call to let them know I would be late to pick up the truck and was on hold waiting for an answer for 22 minutes. June 9, 10:55 am ET. The truck cab leaked when driving in the eain. The water came in at driver side shoulder belt and rolled down my back and chest while I was driving in the rain.

There was no worker there. We called and called and even called the general manager who essentially told us that it was not his problem and that we needed to figure it out ourselves. The store was supposed to be open but the employees just didn't want to come in apparently. Never EVER EVER EVER trust or use this location.

So remember that hour U-Haul corporate credited me? Yeah Salem wouldn't honor that, made my wife pay 60 $extra, I had to wait on hold for an hour to get U-Haul corporate to refund it. The guy at Salem was dumb as a bunch of rocks and couldn't make changes to the invoice which U-Haul corporate said "makes no sense". Empower your people and train them if you want repeat customers. At this rate I'll hire someone's truck next time.

Not well staffed. It didn't seem like the person hitching our trailer actually understood how it worked. Additionally they didn't have tools onsite for us to adjust the hitch that we bought at the Uhaul location. We had to drive to a local store to buy tools.

I originally signed up for 24/7 truck share at a different location to pick up at 8am. When I arrived the app did not allow me to pick up and I was going to have to wait an hour for when the location opened. When I called they said it was never set up for 24/7 but that I what I signed up for and it said on my app order details. Which made me drive to another location for another truck. Very inconvenient.

Our agency has used this location for many years now, and this was the worst check in experience by far. Our reservation was for 8am. We got there at 755am and did not get to check in until 0830 and then could not locate our truck until almost 840am putting the schedule far behind. Private movers had been hired and were waiting and the clerk had much difficulty navigating the system and telling us where to even locate the truck. The truck only had 1/4 tank of gas when we received it. This seemed like a new employee who was struggling OR an employee who just was not concerned with customer service.

The person that helped me was inept. I understand having problems, however, this was past just being new or computer issues. It took over and HOUR to get a trailer to rent. There was NO ONE in front of me. There was a woman working there too that did nothing to assist him. He had to call someone on the phone, point his phone camera to the monitor and walk him through the process... Which he had to do 4 times. He asked my name at least 10 times... WRITE IT DOWN if you can't remember ANYTHING. I will NEVER rent another u-haul from this location there are plenty of others to choose from.

Absolutely horrible customer service. I dropped the truck off at 8:40pm Friday and it wasn't due back til Saturday at 10:30 am. The key was in the box. GOT CHARGED FOR an extra day and called and spoke with Michael I believe he said was his name. He told me to call the 1-800 number. After 20 minutes on hold I hung up. Tried the online chat feature and no one ever showed up to chat with me. Salem Turnpike location in Roanoke, VA has Zero customer service. Very poor. Should just shut the place down.

Clean your trucks out more thoroughly. I found an empty beer bottle in the center console of the van I rented. In the past, my dad and others have found cigarette butts and other debris in the trucks. The trucks run well and the service at the various sites has been great, but I think an extra ten minutes cleaning out a vehicle would go a long way.

I went to 3 different u-haul rental places. First one I waited over 1 hr no one helped me. Second I went the man could not even use the computer to see what they had to use. Third one I go into to reserve the truck they told me they had it. I go to pick it up two days later they tell me that they don't have the truck. I go to a fourth location the one on the Salem turnpike in Roanoke they have the truck I'm in and out less than 10 minutes. Excellent service at that location the other ones I have to say are very poor.

When I 1st got my space it was so easy and everything I needed the young man who helped me took to my unit and realized it hadn't been cleaned out yet and quickly took to a nicer unit which made me feel so much more comfortable about where the unit was located. The 1st one was kinda in a hall way and this new 1 is right outside I can just pull handle my business and go. I had a great experience and will definitely be recommending uhaul in the future Thanks Guys!!!!!

due to the facility not having a mailbox on site, were were receiving late notices every month. Not having a mailbox is bad for business.

This storage facility advertised itself to be climate-controlled. It is not. My items were ruined by mold, insects and mice. The employee door to the storage units was often left open overnight, allowing the weather and pests to come in. And the access gate was always left open.

The only complaint I have is that there wasn't a light in the unit. I had to rely on the main light that housed all of the units to see while I was moving my stuff in. Other than that, it was a very nice and easy experience.

I was disappointed with the fact that the light in the hallway was interoperable as well as there being no light in the unit itself so that you can see where you are putting things (so that you can do it efficiently). Lighting is needed not just for visibility but also for safety.
