Okay when I picked up the uhaul I was given the keys and was told to go look for the uhaul. I went around all the trucks to finally fine it. I got on the truck and drove off. When I got to my storage location my son and I opened the uhaul and there was all sorts of wood pieces with nails. As we tried to move all of that out of the way it was hard too because we couldn't even Walt in there. My son almost stepped on a huge piece of wood with nails sticking out. I fell on my knees and my hip was hurting through out the that night. When we turned in the uhaul we explained all this to the guy, that then called out a worker and the first thing he asked was this wasn't us and do you have pictures. I have never gone through an experience like this.Elvia G.

Manager would not allow me to leave key with him and said he was not responsible for it that I needed to call roadside and get it back to the location. They gave us the oldest truck on the lot. Horrible It was pouring down rain. My husband driver side window leaks and soaked the whole left side of him. Good thing I had plastic totes and not paper boxes some of my stuff got wet in the back. No apologies or compensation for the inconvenience. I would not recommend this company to any one.Jeff P.

It would be nice if the reservation process makes sure you have all the necessary equipment to tow. I purchased my own ball hitch so I wouldn't have to rent it or buy it (at a higher cost) at U-Haul. But since I've never towed before I had no idea that I needed a plug adapter. Had I known I would have price-checked it at various locations before renting. Since I wasn't informed while doing my online reservation, I had to buy one there at U-Haul (at an elevated cost). This reminded me a lot of when you have to take your vehicle for state inspection and find that a brake light bulb is out and the inspection station gouges you for the price to replace it or you fail your inspection. And, yes, I checked. It cost me $16 dollars at U-Haul. I could have saved $6 by buying it from Walmart. Almost twice as much. Thanks a lot. It would cost way more, next time, I think I'd buy my own trailer instead of renting from U-Haul because of the feeling of the mentality of â€œyou need this now or elseâ€ strategy of up selling. If you didn't want an honest review, you should not have asked.Michael M.

The truck was clean but definitely needs transmission work. Acceleration was slow and poor. Fortunately, I did not need to take on a highway. Staff at the location were friendly, very helpful and efficient. Pickup and drop off were fast and easy.Kenneth O.

I had to speak to a rep at least 5 times to confirm anything. I would speak to one rep and they would inform me "I was go to go." Then I would get an email saying I needed to call. I would call again, the rep would say "I was go to go!" Then a day later another email informing I need to call to confirm. This company is so unorganized. I had TWO boxes sent to two different location so I was charged doubled! Why could my boxes two be sent to the same location? I would have been charged once. I used PODS for the remainder of my items and PODS was great, you guys could learn some lessons from their customer service. I called ONCE and everything was complete...I did not need to speak to several people to get order, deliver and pick up...U-haul is disorganized and companies across the state have no idea what the other is doing. I moved from Colorado to Texas...at the least the Texas company was MUCH better than the Denver, Colorado one...Denver one was the worst!!!Wanda D.

I rented a car hauler trailer. When I went to the 'Lot to fetch the trailer, the Uhaul rep told me to back up to hook up-which is Ok. then when it was attached to my hitch-the Uhaul rep told me to 'plug in' the trailer light plug! He did not know how to do that!! also, the trailer itself had 'ramps' that malfunctioned, which I did not find out about until i was at the pick up location! horrible surprise. It seems to me Uhaul would inspect the equipment before renting it..!JACK R.

My van was not available when the guy told me it would be outside. I went and asked an attendant that was outside and he had to go ask another attendant working outside. Turns out the van I was supposed to rent was in the storage area and attendant had to bring it back out for me. This caused me to pick it up late and also it had 2 extra miles on it than what was on my contract. I did not make a fuss over this since it was a small detail, but still shouldn't they have been careful not to use a van that was already checked out to someone at that particular time? There were 4 other vans outside that were just sitting there. I would still recommend this store only because of convenience.Sylvia C.

Guy working the counter did not know what he was doing and did not explain anything. The only thing he said was there was 3/8 of a tank and need to return that way. Got in truck and was under a quarter tank. I had To go fill the truck up before I even started. Should get truck full and return full. Much easier that way. On line check out was way too long when you have worked 12 hour day and are standing in a DARK parking lot. I could Not find the drop box for the key. Found a mechanic working in the back who was very nice but he couldn't find it either. I finall Found a little black bucket with somebody else's key in it and so that is where I put mine. Truck was sooo loud my wife and I could not hear each other talk and it sucked gas down at an unbelievable rate.chris M.

I was disappointed with the service. I did not get the name of the person who completed our rental was unhelpful, cracked jokes at my confusion, and gave me little to no direction through the process. I picked up my vehicle at 3:30pm Wednesday 3/30.Katherine M.
Miguel in the office and Randy in the yard went above and beyond our expectations. We live in Kansas City Missouri and we're needing to haul back a car from San Antonio. We tried with no success to use a car dolly and had to end up using the auto transport which worked out great. Randy was so helpful with getting it hooked up and helping my husband and I load it right again we were just really pleased with the service and Miguel in the office had no trouble transferring the paperwork over to the other piece of equipment. I have always had good experiences with uhaul. The only thing I can express about this experience is the gentleman that helped me check in and check out didn't seem to care. I'm normally given a brake down on my charges or holds. So I asked why I was being charged a certain amount. Just seemed to give me an answer. There were a lot of issues regarding the storage for move. The upside is that the manager went far above and beyond to reach a reasonable solution. he called and called again any and every resource but ultimately he made something happen for us. During this time, he had put his lunch off, and was bouncing between assisting many other big issues with customers. It was only him and another worker. I've been using their storage for 2+mths now. And every time I come in, everyone is always so helpful and welcoming and in a content/relaxed/nice mood. If they can't help, they'll quickly direct you to who can. They actually messed up my storage unit reservation when I was down-sizing, and they completely took responsibility. I had to return a trailer half way through my trip and upgrade to a moving truck and a car transport because my little Ford ranger was struggling to pull the trailer. Technically, because this wasn't where I was supposed to return it, it was a "wrong location" and I couldn't return it. But couldn't figure out where I could return it. I called 1800gouhaul and got transfered 6+ times. Each employee claimed that they didn't have access to the info I needed. They couldn't make changes and didn't know why the previous person sent me to them. I think each employee should be granted access to everyone's order, be able to see all their info, and make changes. Everything is online these days. I should be able to contact an employee in a random state and they should be able to tell me where I can drop stuff off and make changes to my order. Each time I called to figure out drop off locations there was a 10+ minute wait. Calling 1800gouhaul again, I wanted to change my drop-off location because it wasn't the same as the storage location. The telephone line said that I could change it online. I would have preferred to do it over the phone. But after another 10-15+ min wait, I gave up. When I went online, neither my wife or I could figure out how to do it online. We asked the guys at the storage location if we could just drop it off there? They replied, oh, no. If you do that, we'll have to charge you double. Fruatrated, we just took it to the other location and dropped it off. Storage locations are free for the first month. Unless you don't have a round padlock. Then you charge me 10$?! I already had my own regular padlock with me, ready to go but you said, oh no, they can't be that type of lock. It has to be a round one. When I went to lock it up, my lock fit just as well as yours did. That was a totally unnecessary move on your part. The self storage container had two tears in the roof covered in white duck tape. What if it rains hard? Duck tape won't keep the water out.RAY G. | Premières impressions

I came in from out of town and arrived at the Uhaul at 6:45pm, 15 mins before closing. I had called ahead of time and already had a reservation for a storage unit. The employee I believe his name is Matt at 5810 San Pedro, San Antonio, Texas 78212 was fast, helpful, and very thorough. He gave me my paperwork, access gate card and explained everything to me in 15 minutes. I asked him if business was busy,and he said yes, but he was calm and friendly. Got there and Gloria asked for my information, tried to charge me another fee for the storage that I had already paid for over the phone. The gentleman I spoke to must have been new as he answered the phone telling me to hold on he was dealing with another, possibly irate, customer. I appreciate the 30days free.
