I have used this U-Haul several times. All the employees there are so helpful and so nice. I recommend them. The building where the units are is kept very clean . I rate this U-Uhaul a 10.

Don't over charge for gas and make sure the readings are true. I made sure the gas was at the level it was when I got the truck and the guy flat out lied and said it wasn't. And charged me over $7 a gallon when gas is $5,65 a gallon for gas I shouldn't even been charged for to begin with.

The man who helped me was not really friendly and he questioned me a lot and also seem really irritated when I asked for a card for my fiance it would put on the paperwork as someone who was able to come in. He also could have explained the security process a little bit better. Definitely could have had better customer service

The team was very helpful through several rentals and one storage unit. Facility itself is not the easiest for loading and unloading for someone with little experience backing up a trailer. This is especially true if it is busy.

Have a formal complaint in to corporate. Jaxon at this location is an awful staff member. I will not be back here and will make sure anyone I know avoids this location as well. Extremely disappointed and let down by this location.

Highly Recommend this facility for your storage needs! Very clean! Second floor unit was no problem with elevators and handy carts for getting your stuff in easily. Top-notch security is a plus, in my book! Love the aesthetic of the old brick building… reminds me of Monsters Inc movie. 

Warn the app users when returning trucks DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE APP!! The app instructs you to FIRST put the keys in the cargo box, lock it, then scramble the lock…which I did…all 3 doors. The app then says to take a photo of the mileage!! Lol. Also, I was charged for 7 gallons of gas for 39 miles, even though I filled the tank to the brim, and attached my gas receipt with the key. The gas meter still shows 3/4 to 7/8 full even after topping the tank off. Fortunately, the gentleman at the store corrected the invoice without hesitation.

Jaxson J. Was very condescending and rude me and my sister came in to rent a truck & in the middle of the process he says very loud to his coworker "is it me or does it smell like weed?" With an attitude. First of all if you had a problem why rent the truck out to us? Second of all wtf was his coworker supposed to say or do? He's lucky I needed the truck or I would've cussed his ass out I'll never come back here.

Wonderful customer service! When I picked up the truck at the Placerville location, I had the worst experience but turning the truck in here at the Sunrise location made my day. The general manager checked me in, waived the 12 extra miles fee, and made it so simple and easy. Awesome general manager, awesome customer service, cares about his job and the customer's he serves. I really appreciate his kindness to me after a stressful day. I highly recommend this location.

My reservation was cancelled within mins of me arriving mins late. I was given the wrong trailer and told Im lucky I wasn't arrested. Why??!! Why would I be arrested for your guy putting on the wrong trailer on my car?! That's not the trailer being stolen!!!!

This building is in beyond poor condition. There are homeless persons living in the building. There are multiple areas within the building with leaks and some areas are flooded. I have always had great service with Uhaul and thought I would try one of their storage facilities. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I was in a pinch to get my belongings out of a dangerous situation and into a storage facility (I am renting three units from uhaul) but I am very concerned about my belongings having water damage and will be looking for a non- facility to move my belongings to.

Was told I had a "Guaranteed reservation" a week and a half prior then it was switched the night before. I also was unable to pick up the truck at 4am using 24/7 app, thus lost 4 hours of work and had to rent into the next day

I had a great experience. I believe the person that helped me was a Keith or a Kevin, or some "K" name. He was extremely helpful, pleasant and efficient. This was one of if not the best experiences I have had at a rental/moving center ever! The truck was great and the process both with the app and in-store was seamless and easy.

Superb customer service on the phone with both Rubin and Justin, and in person with Viola (hopefully I remember her name correctly). She was very kind and helpful and knowledgeable and efficient. She really went the distance to address my needs. It was seamless. It was good old fashioned customer service. I often lament the disappearance of it. From truck rental to storage to drop off of truck …all uhaul personnel were positive and friendly and helpful.

With all of the excellent security in place, why not have this facility 24-hours? That would make it much more convenient for those people who have large homes to move into a storage unit.

Other than my receiving two 5x10x8 storage units in place of the one 10x10x8 that I had rented, on-line, my overall experience has been good. But, my initial response to receiving something, other than what I paid for, was less than good. It was quite poor, actually. Especially after finding out that splitting a large unit into two smaller units is standard protocol! However, a day l8tr and the facility made good by moving my contract to a 10x15x8 and only charging me $30 for the difference. There by earning a 4-star rating. Thank you, Claude. You did great and you are going to go far in everything you do. God speed.

The staff could be a bit friendlier. Specially I'm guessing the maintenance man. I was going to put very nice brand new items that I no longer needed in the recycling area. He told me I couldn't. I asked him why considering I just watched other people and he didn't stop them. He told me they didn't need my trash. I told him it was not trash and it was very useable Expensive things. And he said to take it with me and find somewhere else to throw it away. It was an unopened box of pans and an unopened weighted blanket. Far from trash.

Richard. I appreciate your professionalism, focused attention and superior care you afforded me, which equated to an Excellent service rating. However, I need to share why I only entered Above Average rating overall. Yesterday while checking out, I received some inappropriate and snarky language from the two young men when checking out of my unit. Upon stepping up to the counter, I stated, "I would like to formally check out of my storage unit." Whereby this young man asked, "Do you want to check out formally or informally?" And then alluded to a device he had under the desk, suggesting a 'formal' checkout might incur a 'physical' action on his part. ??!!!!??? In a word, 'hostile' is the operative that comes to mind, and was my interpretation. [There were some smug comments between the two of them after this, that I tried to tune out.' I countered the young man's comment with something to the effect, "I can do either formal or informal with my Aikido Jo Stick." He quasi-settled down after this. Yes, overall, I was flummoxed. Honestly, I don't know what to tell you, but I really did not appreciate the manner in which he conducted himself with me. Sorry to have to bring this to your attention.

Truck rentals are easy, nice, and I would use again. The facility has rats and/or mice. This was evident when we first moved in and a large rat trap was in the room. There was evidence of rats when we moved everything out, some feces and urine on items - gross. However, we did not read the sign that said no food stored, and there was a couple of boxes with chips and other items. So, perhaps we contributed to the excrement presence. There was NO LIGHT in the unit.

The biggest problem was my stuff was so dusty . I had stored my stuff at the storage place on Garfield and it never got so dusty… it was a bummer to have so many things that I will end up getting rid of or having to get it cleaned by a professional…. :-((

You guys should put a lock on our unit and made it difficult for us to get to our property and when you're managers checked, we were all paid up and current. So you obviously have a disjoint and servicing units.

I was mistakenly charged for two units instead of the one I ordered. I contacted the customer service representative to address the issue and was assured that everything was resolved. However, I later received a notice for a late fee, despite already paying my monthly dues. I promptly responded to the email, explaining the problem, but instead received a lien notice in return.

I moved in online but when I showed up to move into my unit, there were locks on it with a note saying, please come to office. The office was closed so I called the next day and the workers told me that they couldn't see any of the notes in the computer from the manager so I would have to wait until a different day when he came back so I have been moved in online for maybe a week, but I haven't been able to access or move into my unit at all yet my move in date has not been reset to reflect my actual move in as I'm being charged for all these days I have been denied access to move in….horrible experience. Where am I suppost to put all my stuff since I have been mislead to believe I had units available to me that are actually being withheld for unknown reasons.

Upset/angry, my unit was broken into by cutting through the top wire grid where intruder entered and ransacked through my bins/belongings and stole a jewelry ring box filled my 12 white gold gemstones rings and white gold diamond earrings my dad had given my mom.

I had a really good experience while storing my stuff at this location. Staff was always helpful if I ever had a problem. The building always is kept clean. The only two things I would say that could possibly be worked on is the U-Haul portal where you pay your bill. I'm sure that the guys are at the location that I was at have no control over this complaint, but if it ever goes up the ladder, sometimes it's difficult to set up auto pay or even logon. And the only other thing that I would say that was a disappointment was that I couldn't have my rent prorated (and partially reimbursed to me) for moving out of my storage a week early. i'm not sure if it says that in my contract or not but I would've planned better if I was aware of that. Overall great doing business with you.

Richard (Mgr) was very helpful and sympathetic due to the break-in. He walked us through the process of filing a claim and helped us move our remaining items left by the thieves. We chose this location due to the fact it has a key card entrance, cameras and security guards in the evening. Unfortunately the thieves were able to bypass the alarm system. I'm not blaming anyone except the thieves but I think security guards should be making regular rounds checking for unlock doors and suspicious activity.

Dylan and the manager Richard were great. We were shown several units in the size range we wanted and got to choose which one and which location in the building worked best for us. The sign-up process was quick & easy, and you can't beat 1st month free plus a free lock. We brought our first load back that evening. I was pleased to see a number of carts available, so we got the pickup unloaded in one trip with 2 carts. The long hours will be convenient when we need to pop over and grab something or drop something off. I have no complaints. Merci!

I needed a storage for a number of tires that wouldn't be convenient going from the parking lot to the second floor (the only available space at the time) and it didn't work out. However, your staff, I guess her name was Viola, was extremely friendly and informative during our interaction. Hopefully, next time when I come in for a truck rental, things would work out better. The staff was amazing. The front desk woman that helped us went above and beyond, and was so friendly. The staff that was working when I first signed up. We're very helpful and meetings feel comfortable and easy. The gentleman that was working, even helped me with navigating some thing on the van rental from the other storage. Definitely was an awesome experience.

When I first got the storage unit they told me I would have one huge storage. They ended up giving me two. They told me I would pay for the price of one which was a lie. I have been paying for the price of two storages this whole entire time. I could never get anybody to call me back. When I did they suggested I switched to a different storage wasn't happening

This was such an easy experience. I loved the convenience of being able to rent a truck, hire movers, and store my belongings all in one step. The staff at this location was incredibly friendly and helpful-from helping me find the right size storage unit, to replacing a lost keycard. They were responsive and available any time I had a question. When I accidentally left my lock behind after moving out, they saved it for me to pick up!

I had water in my storage unit from a leak which was supposed to repaired last year which wasn't ruined my furniture I got the runaround nobody seemed to know anything or how to fix the problem or what to do I have a claim into my insurance I will never recommend anybody to your U-Haul storage units for that reason and word of mouth is huge not only that there was a bunch of dirty tweakers hanging out there was never enough carts and it smells like mold

We were in storage unit 2373 and when we moved out on January 28th, we found the floor to be wet. The smell was unbearable and the bottom of many of the boxes with our clothes, pictures in frames, dishes and other personal belongings were wet, musty and destroyed. When we picked up the wet boxes, the bottom fell out and our clothes and other items fell on the wet floor. The clothes were already wet and smelled. Some of the dishes and frames broke along with other items. We are still sifting through our personal belongings to assess the damage. After we finished cleaning out the storage unit, I immediately went to the front desk to report the problems. I took pictures and presented them to one of your employees at the desk. He didn't apologize and just told us that we didn't request the U-Haul insurance. He was rude and unhelpful. So I waited to speak to a Supervisor. Viola who was the Supervisor on Duty. She did seem a bit more sympathetic and asked us to send her the pictures to her phone which we did at the moment. She confirmed she received them and looked at them in front of us. She seems disgusted with it all and told us that the building was an old hospital (?) which made no difference to us...I told her that this was negligence on behalf of U-Haul and it was their responsibility, from a service perspective, to make it right. She seemed confused and admitted she didn't know what to do. She did not request to see the damage or visit the storage unit. She only told us she didn't know what happened in these matters and she would have to talk to her Manager Richard Gangwish. She assured us she would be in contact with us as soon as she knew anything. I told her I felt it was totally U-Haul's fault and they needed to fix it. She assured me she would attend to it ASAP. I was also concerned that she might rent the storage unit out again without having it cleaned up. She acknowledged my concerns and said they would get a cleanup crew on it immediately and ensure it would not be rented again until they identified the problem and made sure it would not happen again. I also made an extra special effort to get out of the facility by Jan 28th to avoid getting charged for the next month. She assured me there would be no charged and she already cleared this with her Manager Richard Gangwish. Yesterday (2/7/23) I received a notification from U-Haul advising that I was late in paying for the facility for the month of January and was assessed a late fee attached to the monthly fee...I called Richard yesterday and he answered the phone. Viola was apparently there and heard Rich refer to me as Mr. Stoll and she immediately told him that she knew what that was about. Surprising to me, it appears that no action had been taken. The claim had NOT been completed or submitted which I had asked Viola to do back on Jan 28th when I moved out of the storage unit. Rich was apologetic, told me to ignore the bill as I owed them nothing and promised to get the claim going immediately. I received a call from Courtney in the U-Haul Claims Department today (2/8/23). She was nice and apologetic as well but only just got the claim and was working on it. I had to go through the entire story again with her and now I am awaiting more forms from her to fill out. I asked if Viola had sent the pictures and she said no...She also questioned why I couldn't just run this through my homeowners...I had already talked to my insurance company and they informed me that this was negligence on the part of U-Haul. They should have never rented a storage unit that was faulty to a customer and they should be happy to ensure they correct this error if I was a valued customer...I had other troubles in renting the truck as well at the Sparks, Nevada location but it was unrelated to this incident. I encounter service issues throughout this experience. To me it is very clear that this was negligence on behalf of U-Haul and a good service company that cares about their customers should do all possible to resolve the issues. If my personal belongings were damage as a result of our handling, I would understand. But you rented me a storage unit that was not fit to be rented and, as a result, our belongings were damaged. Courtney told me she would follow up and have them go check the storage unit? It is almost two weeks later, and this should have been taken care of immediately. If they have not checked the unit & corrected the leakage in this storage facility before renting it again causing damage to another customer, shame on U-Haul. I have clothes that stink that need to be drycleaned if they are to be salvaged and broken frames & dishes that need to be replaced. We have moved from Burbank, CA to Sparks, NV and these are our personal belongings, some with sentimental value that are priceless. I felt extremely well taken care of and loved doing business at this location for both truck and storage rental and would travel to this location to do it again if I could.
