I was hassled when returning the equipment. I brought the cargo van under the tent and was bring the keys in the inside but was told by a worker (Erin?) that I need to go back outside and stand beside the van. He then proceeded to ask me who assisted me in renting the van , I advised Chris , in which he proudly tried to tell me Chris told me to wait beside the van when I was there the first time , I was unsure on how he even would know this information if he was not there during the interaction . He was very nice nasty about it which is NOT good customer service . If rented at this location 3 times since October and not one time has a worker told me I had to go back outside and stand in the cold next to the vehicle .Jazminne M.

The straight 4-pin wiring harness was tywrapped to the hitch where one attaches trailer chains for safety. This will last one time due to touches the tywrap. What did I pay for?Bill L.

Overall, storing my belongings was fine. BUT my storage rent was due in the 2nd of each month. Sept 2 I paid for the month. On Sept 16, we were able to move out of storage, expecting to get some sort of refund since we only used two weeks of the month. I went in the office and was told nope, we don't do partial refunds. So I said ok and went and put my lock back on my door, then made another trip out there Sept 29 to remove it. Just seems to be unfair to the people who may have needed that space, that sat empty for two weeks. And unfair to me to have to feel spiteful. The rental price is deliberately misleading. You boldly advertise $19,95 for a vehicle, and even though I live in the area, and I only used the van for 2 hours to move a single sofa, I ended up paying $60 after taxes and fees. It's my fault for not being skeptical, but I really couldn't afford $60 and it really hurt me this week. Also, when my son and I dropped off the van, we waited a long time under the canopy without seeing anyone until this obviously-annoyed Dylan Klebold-looking kid stormed up to us and barked â€œLeave the keys in it and you'll get an email when I get to it!â€ VERBATIM. He then turned and marched away. I promise you, I did nothing but greet him with a warm smile before he said that. It was enough to make my 10 year old son say. â€œWhat theâ€¦â€ and it embarrassed me because I felt I needed to confront him to demonstrate to my son the expectations for respect, but we were in such a hurry, I had to let it go. All in all, the whole experience made me feel like the rest of the world has lately: everything is awful and getting worse all the time.Michael D.

The storage unit staff, especially Christine, the facility manager we're terrific! Frankly, these were the only Uhaul employees who honored their promises. Everyone else, from our (wrong and too small - even with the trailer we still left things behind in Austin and will have to return for them and start the moving process all over again!) truck pick-up in Kyle, all the other storage places in Norfolk area who called us a day after we picked up a two week rental asking us what time we'd be in Norfolk that day to drop off the truck and put stuff in storage, and your movers who broke things and showed up two hours late after pressuring us to meet two hours early and intimated us. We ended up unpacking the trailer ourselves while we waited and still had to pay the entire amount. We've called several times and someone is supposed to get back to us but never does. The moving company won't give us a refund even though we called and told them about the intimidation we felt and requested different movers. We will NEVER use uhaul again and we'll be warning our 5000 friends on FB, yelp and anywhere else we can find to complain unless we hear from someone and get some sort of refund.Anton p. | Premières impressions

Although Move-In day was fine (no issues), we have subsequently been back 2 times to retrieve items. Both times the elevator has been broken and when you have a 2nd floor unit this is inconvenient. Also, we now cannot get our BBQ out for the Fourth Of July and we have an appliance to retrieve (Freezer) after our move-in. Both items cannot be carried downstairs. If I'm ever in need of a storage unit again I'll definitely choose your facility. Every encounter from the day of check in to the day of check out was seemless. You guys have done an excellent job in picking the best staff. They are all funny, engaging and helpful. I'm sorry I can't remember names but last 2 interactions stand out the most. The first lady (she has a nose ring) was so kind and sweet helping me after I lost my key card. The second lady (I believe she had teal highlights) who helped me get my truck checked me and another guy out at the same time, can you say skills and efficiency, she was also kind and hilarious. The storage unit was sealed. Took 45 min in line to speak with person at desk. He didn't know why the hnit had a green plastic seal on the latch. He said he would have to see it, but he had other customers to take care of. My movers broke the seal to enter the locker. The roll up door started falling off the roller. Very dangerous! Another 30 min wait to get another storage locker…the "last one available"…and it had a padlock on it. Back to find someone to remove the padlock. Wound up paying movers an extra $250 for overtime due to storage unit problems and waiting at counter for help. Other storage unit is $15 more, also. Really not happy.LINDA L. | Online Move In

Everything went pretty well except for the fact that the guy at the desk handed me my access card when I first checked in for my reservation, he said just use this later when you want to put your stuff into storage and you'll be able to get in. I went to go drop my stuff later (around 10PM) when they were closed, and it said access denied you have to check in first. I looked around for directions and it said you have to check in at the alarm system station which was right next to it. I try to swipe it there and it still says access denied. Needless to say, they didn't really give me good instructions for after hours. I tried to call the number that said for "after hours only" and they didn't answer. Just a heads up, nothing crazy. The staff was not very detailed on how to access the adjacent building. They did not activate the card so we had to walk back to the building, nor inform us that we would need to cut off a zip tie, or how to open the latch.
