Did not ask for this location or time. It was a huge hassle renting this truck. Slowest people on the planet. They could all work at the Post office and do great. Flew into New Orleans and wanted a different location, was told this was the only one available. 85 $uber ride later, I arrived at this location. Experience was not good.

The wait times are way too long. If I check in online ahead of time, I should be able to pick up the truck and go! And the young lady who was the customer "service" rep was very rude. She had an attitude and made me fell like I was bothering her, rather than me being a paying customer. She was a young lack lady and I am white, and I feel that she was being racist, because she did not treat the black customers with a terrible attitude. The store manager had to come finished the transaction because she I could see that the young lady and I were not getting along. She mumbled under her breath and made me feel really bad. It was a horrible experience I will NEVER rent from that Uhaul location again. Just very frustrating overall. A great way for Uhaul to lose customers.

Last month I reserved a U-Haul. Arrived at where I was supposed to pick it up and it wasn't there. Apparently they changed the time and location without telling me. It messed up my day big time. Earlier this week I reserved a U-Haul for this Saturday. On Friday I called to confirm the reservation because I had that bad experience last time. I was transferred so many times I lost count. I finally got to a local woman in the traffic department. First, she told me that my reservation was to be picked up at the Loyola avenue location. I had made the reservation for the canal Street location. She told me they don't have a canal Street location. That is not true!!! There is a canal Street location. So that means my location changed, okay I know about it the day ahead of time because I called in therefore I can adjust to that. Then she tells me that the reservation for my reserved van cannot be confirmed because it depends on other things and it may or may not be there when I get there. I couldn't believe my ears, that's not how reservations work! She told me that is how reservations work. She was extremely rude in almost everything she spoke! I was fed up and hung up on her. I called a different number I was given and reached another representative who was finally able to just explain to me that the van I had reserved was booked on Friday evening , if I wanted to make sure it would be there, I could call in after hours to make sure that those people returned the van. I thanked that woman profusely for being the first person to give me a logical explanation and a solution. So many people I had talked to and been transferred through weren't able to do that (and then there was the one that was completely rude). Then, the next day when I go to pick up the van. Everything runs smoothly except for one part. They needed to call my emergency contact person. I've never heard of this before, I wasn't warned of this, it doesn't make any sense, I've spoken to multiple people who haven't said they've experienced it, if I were to pick up the the van in the contact-less method this wouldn't have been asked. It was a complete inconvenience and I would have walked away if I had any other choice. I didn't have an emergency contact AWAKE at 7:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning. I have lots of emergency contact options but not with no warning at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. I had to go on Facebook and look and wait to see when a acquaintance of mine showed that they were awake so that I could call them and ask them if they could be my emergency contact. When my perfectly good normal emergency contact person was at home they were just sleeping with their phone turned off cuz we didn't know we'd have to do this. But my struggles aside, I don't believe this is a normal request to rent a vehicle. I have a perfect driving record, I'm middle-aged, there's absolutely no reason to need this extra verification from me. I'm an independent person, I should be able to rent a U-Haul without getting permission from a friend of relative. Between these two experiences, I never want to use U-Haul again and will do the opposite of recommend it. The van was nice though, it was clean, easy to drive and the drop off process was smooth.

I reserved a truck through on line services. When I arrived to pick up the truck I had to the process all over again. "why"? customer service was very slow, and the agent gave me a truck that had no dolly. Far as gas wise the truck was almost on empty. "why"? I returned the truck at 7:15pm, it was not do until 10:30pm. So why I am I being charged for a late return?

Make sure the lock combo is correct, I had to wait an hour to reach customer support only to find that they couldn't really help me (not their fault, they're probably 1000 miles away, and likely understaffed and underpaid (*coughlivingwagescough*)) other than giving me a refund. Was supposed to pick up at one location at 330, they moved me to another location for 500, wouldnt compensate for the extra mileage due to the location change, screwed over the people who were supposed to help me due to their own schedules, etc. Just messy all around.

The location I picked up my equipment was several miles away from the location my reservation was confirmed for and I never received email or text about the change. It took me an hour to determine where my equipment was and since it wasn't the site of my reservation my app-based pickup was canceled and I spent another hour in line. The location is very nice; the reservation and confirmation system is flawed.

The agent asked for a second phone number although I listed one (My Wife) on my reservation, and then she would not fill the reservation until someone answered. Yet I was the only person this was done with and I have never been to any U-Haul where they make you wait until they contacted someone. (Stating we don't know what you might do with our equipment) I lost 35 minutes of my time in this process and was prepared to cancel if this had proceeded. Again I have never experienced this using U-Haul services!

When i tried to contact the office to inquire about the blankets, no one would answer the phone or I got an automated answering service that never connected me. NOT SATISFIED.

Was not pleased with the charge for gas. We filled the truck up at a gas station one block from return site, stopping the fill when the pump stopped, indicating the tank was full. I was then charged for 4,88 $ for not returning the truck with a full tank of gas.

The ups and downs: Contactless pick-up didn't work out and I had to go stand in line; counter clerk was accommodating, but lot attendant seemed angry about something (they forgot to include my dolly and furniture pads, so he went to get them for me) and he didn't speak; they didn't have the 15' truck I reserved, but gave me a larger truck at same rate; lucky, cuz I have a LOT more stuff than I realized and it barely fit in the bigger truck. As a whole, I'm generally satisfied with the pick-up experience.

Poor communication. Poor management. Hard to get any one on the phone. You have to do their job for the while they keep you on hold for an hour. Brandon Pierre, the manager, has absolutely no customer service and is lazy. They will completely rip you off financially.

It rained inside of the truck wetting my countertop appliances, The side view mirrors was broken and turning the way they wanted to. I had to pull into a gas station until the rain stopped. I called in to the location that I rented the truck from and they place me on hold for almost an hour, then their phone disconnects. Worst experience ever, especially when the staff showed that they didn't care.

I would not recommend this location. My box was delivered weeks late, and it took several additional weeks for the location to schedule pickup. I called repeatedly, and either the location did not pick up, or I was provided incorrect information.

Items reversed online were not available because they were given to another customer. The manager on duty said this was the case because they never know if the people who make reservations will show, which seemed like a pretty sorry excuse to me. There was a lack of communication between the inside store employees and the outside crew. The initial van I was supposed to rent was not available and I had to switch vans. When I finally got my rental it did not have the 1/4 of a tank amount of gas that was stressed onsite. When I inquired about this the crew just shrugged like it was my fault. All in all, this was a pretty terrible experience and I will never recommend anyone use the U-Haul location on Tulane Ave.

Inside cab was overall semi clean. The windshield was filthy , could not see out and rain made it worse. Got a call the day I dropped the keys of after using the truck until 1:00 am. Asking where the.keys was. My son got a call also around 8:16 am he worked until 4;00 am. The damn key is where I left it in the drop box.

Going here was the worst customer service experience of my entire life. Upon arrival I was informed that my reserved rental was rented out to a man in line ahead of me. So I had to join the line despite preplanning my mobile pickup because of a time crunch. An HOUR later, I was sassed and spoken to so incredibly rudely by the attendant that it actually lead me to tears. She told me they didn't have the dollies that I had reserved and stressed me out for what ended up being not even true. The desk attendant actually ignored me while I was trying to get help and this was a horrible horrible experience. I hope I get to speak with someone.

Well let's see, My overall experience at this location was surprisingly very good considering the whole area was dealing with the aftermath of hurricane Ida. Everyone from the ladies helping me at the front desk to the gentleman preparing the vehicles and having them ready were very efficient and polite. The only complaint is that the AC in the building was not working very well.

Online says they have 15 ft trucks available only for u to go in the store after booking online twice and there is no 15ft trucks available! So I was forced to get a 10ft truck which caused me to go over my mileage because I had to make more than 3 trips across town… you can improve by updating your system online.

When changing over ownership about a year and a half ago, within 10 minutes someone backed a U-haul truck into my car and caved in the driver door. The reception was unhelpful and said they could not check security cameras and I was given a contact number to call. No one answered this number or responded to my voicemails. I assume that it was the business that backed the truck into my car, it cost me a 500 $deductible. I would in no way shape or form recommend such a business to anyone.

Moved out of storage unit. Told store desk employee and followed their instruction. I was getting emails about my stuff being there and my payment was late. I called and told them I moved out. I got emails about stuff going up to auction. I called and told them I moved out. I left a few things because I could not get them. I told desk employee. I even asked if they had somewhere I should throw the few things I had left. I have asked multiple times to speak with manager. Waited on phone for hours multiple times for almost a year. Was told he would return my call ever time after being placed on hold for unrealistic amounts of time. Was told he was hooking up trailer, filling up propane, checking truck, over in storage. None of these things should take almost two hours. He has never returned my phone calls. My account was sent to collections for over 1 400 $. I am so disappointed and disgusted with the staff at this facility. I did everything I could to get this matter straightened out. The employee instructed me wrong. Had I known this would happen of course I would have done it differently. The manager avoids his duty to speak with customers and discuss important matters. I would not recommend this facility at all nor any Uhaul facility if I can not get this off my credit history. I should not have to pay for a storage unit I moved out of. I can not drive four hours to speak to a manager face to face. I am now going to reach out to headquarters on the matter.

I am giving excellent because the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I do have a problem because in the description of the storage unit it said 5xx8x10 and it is not that it is 5x8 at the front but it drops down to 4 or 3 foot. I really needed a storage unit as advertised. I will need to get into the storage unit often. I do not want to have to go and have to remove everything or close to everything just to get items out and put it all back just have to take it all out again to put it all back. I did not say anything the day I took possession because I was extremely tired and did not want to lose my temper. I hope that we can work something out because honestly it is misleading and I expect better of U-Haul.

Line was long to door, 1 person working, no air conditioning. Rental truck slow. Assigned storage had lock on door, took 20 minutes for someone to remove. Waiting caused lost time to return truck.
