Do better. waited over an hour and a half. This delay impacted my moving day greatly, and after finally getting the truck the gas was lower than recorded along with the mileage. Thankfully we saw it early, as we would have been charged for a tank of gas and over 50000 miles.Kyle S.

Actually I rented a haul today 17 foot and i told the lady at the office my friend is going to drive the u haul truck and she took his license photo front and back but when i get the agreement it say in authorized drivers name was mine .. So my experience was not a good. First off instead of moving a truck to my original location. They ask to go to Scarborough which with traffic was not easy. I took a train from Montreal to move my stuff back from Toronto so I had no other of transportation . Once I arrive to the location there was a huge line up. Started an 1h late. Also the van did not have cruise control when you are driving as long as I request I wish you would have took better care of your customer. My foot is still in pain today from the drive. As for the truck it was dirty and the window had some crack and the gaz tank was in the middle. If it was full that would have been easier then stoping and filling up. Overall not impress when you pay 1200$Richard D.

I book 5 x 8 trailer for couple day ,received call from your company told me they don't have this trailer.and only have 4x8 andI have to pick up from difference location.I have to disassembly the go kart couple time that I don't want. Had issues with checking truck back in couldn't sign in,and spent 45 min to get through to help line. Then called again today still no receipt,second time in a week I had to get receipt from the person who booked... Was not able to have my phone show the location to be able to drop off the truck. Used the alternate which asks for a bar code scan. The location was clear.. Never found it. Put the barcode scan by the key drop off or front of the building for easy viewing.Phyllis B.

Man up and take responsibility for malfunctioning equipment you provided. Stop saying we check every equipment. If you had, the axel would not break on me. Luckily it did not happen in the HWY. It could have been a disaster for my family. Also stop accusing customers of carrying concrete in the trailer. This incident occurred while I was on my way camping. How heavy tents, sleeping bags, bikes and camping chairs could be. They take space but are not heavy. I even had my cooler, the heaviest item, at the back of my SUV for easier access, not in trailer. On my return, the staff in this location passed me to each other and made me wait good 2 hrs before telling me that they have to investigate the incident. I reserved a utility dolly 3 weeks in advance along with the truck. I was told there were 'no more available, it is first come first served'... what is the point of reserving something essential for moving things into a truck if there are not going to be any available?? Just stupid. Lady at the counter did not go out to the truck and confirm the gas gauge or take a look at the truck/damage or anything, just gave me the keys and did not even point out which truck was mine, so I had to figure out the vehicle number. The contract stated 1/4th of a tank, yet when I got in and drove out of the lot it was clearly almost down to 1/8th (this cost me an extra $30 to get it back to 1/4th on top of the $620 that this truck cost me (yes, $620.... not the obnoxious $29,95 plastered all over the uhaul vehicles). The website to 'check in' ahead of time does not work despite trying to complete it 3 different times on different browsers, which actually wasted 30 minutes instead of saving me any time. I also could not fit all items in a 2 bed apartment into a 15' truck (event hough this is what they recommend for size of a 2BR apartment or condo...) - should have got the 20' and we really don't have a ton of stuff compared to some people.Crawford H.

I booked a truck on Sunday August 7 for mobile pick up on Tuesday August 9 at 7 pm. I did not receive any calls that this truck would not be available. The location I was picking up from closes at 7 which is why I chose mobile pick up as I did not know if I'd make it before close. I got there 5 minutes before 7 and was notified on my phone the truck is not available. When I went inside the employees were extremely rude and not apologetic about not having the truck at all. I couldn't move everything therefore I now have to rent another truck incurring more expenses on top of an already expensive move.Alyssa V.

Make the total price more clear when rental happens. Online or on the phone, help customer estimate total price. With vans painted with a huge $19.95, the final price is not obvious. I thought it would be a cheap way to pick up a used chair. That $20 chair ended up costing me $114. Also, the contract said there was half a tank of gas but there was much less. I had to fill it up to half a tank as that is what the contract said, so it ended up costing me $38 to refill when I had just gone from Scarborough to Whitby and back. The girl who checked me back in, did reimburse me, but the way she was initially inattentive, off to the side, in a van, and eating her dinner was offputting. I had to shout to get her attention (as I could see no one around to help me) and she just shouted at me to just leave the van with the key in it, rather than asking about the experience or trying to give any semblance of customer service. The place is great with lots and lots of vehicle. People are maintaining and cleaning the vehicles frequently. One issue is that when I reached at 9am to pick my vehicle which was booked for 9:30 then 8 people were in front and there were just 2 people in reception. Queue was moving a little slow and I got the vehicle at 9:50. The issue is not with the staff as they were nice. The issue is with management to not have enough people to support the load. 2nd issue: I was charged $25 extra for cleaning the vehicle which was exactly the same as when I picked it up.Vicky P.

This was a terrible experience. I had a reservation for more than a month out, with my credit card on file and confirmation from the staff that the equipment was available. But just a few days before pickup, the original trailer was cancelled and I was given far inferior equipment. I will not be renting from Uhaul anymore.Ramin F.

I had reserved online a particular storage unit base on it's size. At the time of booking there was one unit left. I had the option of paying at the counter or completing the transaction on line. I choose at the counter. When I arrived I was told the locker wasn't available anymore. I assumed they meant because of me. The staff said no, someone else rented it. When I asked for an explanation they said is was on first come basis. I don't understand how you can book online and have the store override the transaction. The service representative we worked with was excellent, but the U-Haul model has flaws that ensure customers can run into real trouble. Our pickup location was changed by U-Haul at the last minute to a location far away from us; when we went to pick up our reserved trailer, it had not been returned, and the current renter would not return it. While the situation was fixed thanks to the hard work of our service rep, it was a matter of chance that another trailer became available -- we were told that nothing was available that weekend. This could have caused chaos, as we had movers showing up an hour after our reservation time. U-Haul, please fix your service model! At the very least, perhaps a greater deterrent policy could help alleviate customer's suffering!Francois B.

Omg! What an experience. I made a reservation for a U-haul 9â€ van on Fri July 22. Pick up date: Jul 30, 2 pm, 2022. Return same time next day. We are three person moving from a same apartment to a different apartment. July 30, 22, around 12 pm, U haul representative called me and said my pick up will be late at 4 pm as previous guy didn't return the vehicle yet. We were packed completely and now we have to wait another 4 hours. We went to pick up the van at 3:40 pm. The office is closed and neighbour shop owner told us that they left because van wasn't there and they didn't think it would here that day. Called u haul multiple times. They didn't provide us a van. Nearest pickup location was 2 hours away from my home. We were literally homeless at that time. We slept on our chairs. We scheduled again by telephone for next day at 3:00 pm. We picked up the car at 2,58 pm. We returned at 2:38 pm at inspection line. Now the receipt they gave for two days and charged me for 2 days. I have nothing else to say. Merci.RiadHossain F.
Van I was given leaked oil on my driveway. I didn't notice until I had moved the van into 3 different locations on the driveway. I looked under the van & there were signs of dampness from oil. The vehicle performed well but I wasn't expecting to have a driveway to wash after my rental.David T.

I booked two trucks and trailers for the long weekend a week before the pickup. Because of a system problems booth of my orders were cancelled in error. I did end up getting my trucks thanks to the great work of your employees but had to get one a day before which was a HUGE inconvenience. Now I am on hold for 2 hours so far trying to get my billing corrected. I was $898.10. Well over what was the price I was told. Hopefully this can be corrected,robert g R.
Stay true to customers and treat all customers with respect and share the proper information while booking. The customer service was non-existent they had no idea what they were doing and almost cancelled my reservation when I already had an agreement with uhaul over the phone. I have used this location and several times within the year., received better Admin Service from the Kingston Rd location., More training could be needed as with all of the implemented changes to sign in and pick up as its gotten longer to complete a simple transactions I dropped off the cargo van within 90minutes and less than the mileage than I paid for and they â€œLostâ€ the vehicle on their lot, as they called me the next day asking for the vehicle back?? I then personally went there and met the same person who took my return and after she Confirming she processed the paperwork., she pointed out the vehicle in the Lot exactly where she left it., The field staff is excellent.,, Maybe more training required for the admin staff! They double booked the trailer i specifically booked which i had to drive 45 minutes because that was the closest one. When i got there they didn't seem to care it looked a normal thing for them. Not professional and no skills on customers recovery not remotely close. And i even got charged more on my credit card which i'm not even gonna try to call and ask why because it's just painful to deal with them and try to explain. I know u-haul dosen't have the best customers service but this is s new low. As a matter of fact i will buy a trailer rather then ranting anything from U-haul. Overall unhappy with the uhaul services. made a reservation for a 4x8 trailer, the order was confirmred but when time to pickup the equipment was not available. because I had no choice to rent an opened travel trailer I had to make more trips in the rain and also pay for an extra dy. The clerk at the pickup location made a note so maybe I will get a partial discount but no one has contacted me and I am not expecting any response as that is how it works.Al L.

Very slow process at pickup. almost 45 minutes before we got service. Seem the phone was more important than the lineup at the counter. Truck is very old and runs very rough. 1)Light was required in the storage since it was a 24 accessI selected...I was there until 9pm and I had to use my phone light. 2) When the rain fell water settled in front of my #700 storage and was a Hazzard for me.....with my in and out of the storage, the storage became dirty and I feared I may fall. Access to the outside unit is good. Unit very spacious. But outside area is not well lit at night. I had to keep my car headlights on to see what I was doing. Not clear on how security is maintained at night. No security gates. Had a problem with a default lock that was sold to. The keys would not open it and got stuck. They took a few days to resolve the issue and wanted to double charge me for a new one. I opted to move my stuff to another non-Uhaul facility as this one I found to be not only overpriced but also not maintained well. My boxes were damp and right from my first day there I had a terrible time trying to close the locker door (I also had two friends attempt to close it and both struggled as well). Additionally, every time I opened the door or shut it a bunch of sawdust (our what I believe to be sawdust would fall on me). No elevator's!! Had a heck of a time trying to carry stuff up then down those stairs. Dolly's where provided both at top and bottom of stairs but useless on stairs. STOP IT! management: wake up to the fact you don't understand what customer service means. Get retrained so that the staff don't get the full brunt of the criticism and harassment because of your blindspots. I would never buy a franchise for that reason. The company is losing millions and they don't know it and probably do care. So sad. Little frustrating that you can't use your own lock especially when you are short on money and have none, yet need to store items so you can get the trailer back and get a refund. I was given an all-in price on the phone and I arrived with my own lock which was a high quality lock. When I came in to rent the van body, I was told I was required to purchase and use a Uhaul lock. That lock was junk and did not even secure through all three portions of the van body door fastener (but my own lock did). The staff were rude on several occasions. additionally, I was taken for the first time, on a golf cart, to see the unit, the driver smashed the roof of the cart on the opening garage door and debris flew at me. The 'gold' lock that goes on the left side of the unit is also a joke. One swing of a tack hammer would open it. Obviously this is just a means of pressuring people into paying more for 24 hour access in addition to forcing people to buy a crappy uhaul lock. The location is not secure and my unit leaked, damaging a $4000 mechanical massage chair. I have, over the years, rented many, many uhaul trucks, mostly for business purposes, but sometimes for personal use (as I did to fill up my vanbody storage rental). I did not rent from uhaul when I emptied it out. Because of your unfair, gauging policies, rude staff, inadequate facilities and the generally poor service (staff would not even provide me a paper receipt a email only) uhaul has lost my business permanently.
