Steven the Rep who helped me by going above and beyond .My truck didn't have the adaptor needed to hook up the motorcycle trailer and he gave me one and said just return it when you come back . 1) Older equipments comparing to the various Oakville locations that I had rented (10 times past year) 2) Courtesy - I unfortunately left my disability parking permit in the equipment and phoned the location at 7am the next morning. I appreciated the effort in immediate retrieval of the item, however I wasn't pleased that a regular snail mailing request was declined by the location given I live in Oakville and being handicapped.

The windows and mirrors could have been cleaner, especially for safety for the driver. Other then that the truck was clean. People were very nice and great at their jobs.

The online experience is akin to the old Ikea style of having to walk through everything in the store in order to get to the check out. It took me way to long to place my order and it was very frustrating. I will likely look at another company next time because of this. The online check in was also confusing and didn't appear to work. Then I had to wait a long time at the location to check in there to pick up the truck. All that said, Charles at the location was absolutely lovely. He was kind, patient, helpful and professional yet very authentic. Thank you Charles!

Van was not clean. Garbage left inside. Dirty Picked it up with 1/4 tank gas in it in below freezing temperatures so I had to put gas in it immediately upon picking it up. Van was parked in an icy spot covered in snow upon pick up. Lot not salted- hard to get into.

Cons: 1) There's always a line up and not enough staff around. If you ever run into an issue with a vehicle, it is impossible to find someone available to help. 2) Some of these trucks are poorly maintained. Scratches and scrapes all over the place. They're clean for the most part, but old and poorly maintained. 3) They have given me a truck a few times with almost an empty gas tank. The “credit” they give you to fill it back up doesn't even cover current gas prices. This is a complete rip off and fraudulent policy/practice. 4) I have reserved a dolly before but when I arrive there they don't have one available for me. What is the point of the reservations if it doesn't guarantee the product? I don't think you understand the concept of reservations. 5) Your website claims that if you reserve a truck and on the actual date they don't have one available, you get $50. Is this a joke? What is the point of a reservation if you cannot guarantee it? And what is $50 going to do for me? You have completely screwed the customer over and potentially cost them hundreds or thousands of dollars of expenses. Your solution to correcting that harm and making up for it is to give them peanuts? 6) They charged me two days worth of environmental fee for a one day rental. $1 stolen is still money stolen. Just not worth the hassle to dispute. Pros: - Large site with a large selection of trucks and trailers - trailer hitch installation available at this site - The customer service reviewed one of my cost disputes and corrected a faulty charge. Good and reasonable customer service.

The young lad there was not as friendly or courteous as the fellow that i engaged with during my last visit, also i had reserved a 20 foot truck due to space limitations but was told there was not one available and had to settle for a 26 foot truck which made things difficult. I had made this reservation well in advance ie 3 weeks.

Only complaint was I was told on the phone when I originally called that the cost for the vehicle transport for the few hours I needed it would be $15. In the end my bill was about $54. Seems a bit high for just taxes and maybe I misheard but either he quoted me the wrong unit or there was another mistake.

I arrived shortly before closing and was concern ed nobody would be able to help me. The gentleman (name i cannot recall) was exceptional. He was unhurried, really took his time to answer all my questions and provided a great deal of help. My original storage space was too small, and the storage space I ended up using is too large but he did provide help and information in a proper size unit (unfortunately that size is not available at this location). He explained everything to me and again was exceptional with his attention and help he provided. Thank you to him. Only negative i can think of, because part of the system was down (debit card), i was not able to set up automatic withdrawl in a monthly fashion for my unit.

I wasn't too impressed with the last couple of months with uhaul. I had this locker for almost three year and it was always an issue trying to get in to access my locker and then when finally inside there always happens to be an extra lock on my locker! Usually it's because of not receiving payment which I make sure it was on an auto renew, or this new one stating that you need a disk lock to be put onto your locker. The last Friday of October I got a driver and a truck to be able to empty my storage by the tie I got to my storage there was an extra lock I couldn't take off and the uhaul staff just went home for the day. So I had to wait until I could go in in person after calling three times explaining the situation which no one cared for pay for any other driver just to get them to finally take this lock off. Was the worst hassle I had to go through and the worst part was is that the lock I had I bought at the uhaul store which they are still selling so what was the point so restraining me and costing me more money for no reason when it was a uhaul lock. I'll never put my stuff in a uhaul again.

The staff and management was great. However it should be noted that the booking process is frustrating. I had reserved a 5x5x7 unit which was $99 a month and met my needs. Someone from uhaul (can't recall the name) called to confirm that I still needed the unit, I confirmed I did and was told a unit would be available. When I arrived on Saturday oct 31 for my check in I was told the unit I had reserved was not available and I'd have to take a larger more expensive unit. This is a bit of a bait and switch from a customer stand point. Again, no fault of the staff, but this should be something that's ironed out from a customer experience standpoint on the website to allow for only what's available to be booked or reserved. I'd rather get the value for what I'm paying for rather than be told I have to take a more expensive unit or find another location all together.

I reserved a unit in early September for the end of September. When my reservation date was nearing I needed to complete my rental contract and wanted to do that online. One of the reasons why I selected U-Haul was because they said that you could complete the rental of the unit online, which was important to me as I was out of the country and could not do it in person. I tried completing it via the website on my desktop, on my mobile, I downloaded the app, I checked every page, clicked on every link. I could not find where I could complete my rental. I wrote several emails to the customer service, who were not helpful. One sent me a link to an internal, employee page on uhaul.net when I asked for instructions on completing the rental online. Eventually when I got a hold of someone on the phone at the storage unit facility (the first time I got transferred to the generic 1-800 number, and that person couldn't help me) they told me that the unit I had reserved was not available and that was probably why I could not complete my rental online. I then had to take a larger unit than I needed and pay more money than I budgeted because by that time I had no choice. So what is the point of reserving a unit if it does not mean the unit is actually RESERVED? I would rather pay a downpayment to hold a unit in advance than to be told on the day I am ready for it that it's not available. What is the point of a reservation?? And on top of that, no indication whatsoever on my reservation that the unit was not available, so that I could at least look somewhere else or at another location if possible. Extremely frustrating service.

Perhaps the cashier/attendant was having a bad day, but 1st impressions are lasting. I was met with a resistance and an attitude that suggested that my business was not very important or welcomed. I only proceeded because I was in an immediate emergency situation...Customer Service needs to be addressed.

We were not told about the free first month for storage. Less than a week after renting the storage unit we were locked out for non payment. After standing in line for 20 minutes we were told the lock would be removed, never received an apology for the inconvenience. We rented a truck the same day and spent more time in line then we did in the truck, while 3 staff members stood outside, leaving no employees inside at the counter.
