I booked the truck near 20 days sooner and scheduled my movements and managing many things based on, but the picking up location changed suddenly which shocked me. The truck was clean but its engine was not strong as I expected. Thank you.

Around the truck and the parking lot were full of snow, with no attempt made to remove the snow from the area. It was difficult to back out the truck in the snow and I would not be surprised if some type of "fender bender" happened in the lot because of the mess. Just irresponsible on the team in the store for not addressing this so that customers would have a potential mishap with their own vehicle or the UHaul vehicle.

Two issues caused me to rate this location low: 1) I had ordered two furniture dollies, and my order had been confirmed. However when I arrived, I was told they only had one dolly and that if I needed two, I'd need to buy the second one. I declined. Instead of a second furniture dolly, they gave me an appliance dolly, which wasn't relevant. 2) When I started the cargo van, the dashboard indicated a problem with one of the tires. When I got out to check, one of the staff said that the indicator light was faulty and the tires were ok. In my view, the indicator light should have been fixed before the van was rented.

I started the day with 7/8 of a tank of gas and anticipated approximately 70 kilometers usage. I returned the vehicle with a FULL tank of gas and did go over the kilometers slightly. Did I get charged for being over, YES. Did I get reimbursed for returning with too much gas, NO! Will not be using U-Haul again.

Trying to talk to an actual person at this location was difficult. I ended up talking to the person who works at the waterdown location who helped me out. I was told I'd have an 8:30 pick up and your location changed it to 9 without calling me or contacting me at all. I waited for a half hour. Then when the young man arrived for work and saw I was waiting he didn't acknowledge me until 9:01 when he unlocked the doors. I explained my frustration and he had no customer service skills. If he didn't have to talk to me then he wouldn't have probably. Very much unsatisfied with the service overall.

The experience overall was ok. The truck worked well, however, the CSR on pick up was not overly helpful. The truck lock did not work, so he worked to fix this issue but did not apologize for the issue and delay Thankfully, the CSR during drop off was helpful, kind, empathetic and redeemed my experienced

I have been repeatedly overcharged for my storage unit from the beginning of my account use until after I moved out. The first month promotion from Uhaul was never honoured. I have made numerous attempts to contact the Aldershot location, by phone and email and my calls were never returned over the whole 5 month period. I even waited on hold for an hour to contact Uhaul central Customer Service, they tried to get in touch with the Aldershot location, and couldn’t get a reply by phone, then they sent an email to the location, and still the Aldershot location didn’t reply to the message from Head Office Customer Service. The Aldershot location continues to charge me even after I moved out, despite my numerous emails advising them that I’d be moving out, and to stop charging me. They placed a lock on my unit, and never removed it even after I paid excessive extra charges. The lock remained in my unit long after my account was fully paid, which prevented me from moving out earlier resulting in several additional months of unnecessary storage costs. When I had paid for and arranged a moving service to move out of my storage unit, I couldn’t access my storage unit for the moving company because the Aldershot still had a lock on my storage unit. This is the worst predatory business practices I have ever seen, especially during the pandemic, and with such a large International Company like Uhaul, this is completely unacceptable. Customers of Uhaul at the Aldershot location have been leaving very Negative Reviews of the terrible customer service and overcharges at Uhaul at Aldershot. I would like Uhaul Head Office to assist me with providing a refund for all of the amounts that have been Overcharged on my account by Uhaul Aldershot. Please have Uhaul Head Office contact me to resolve the unethical business practices of the Uhaul Aldershot location and their numerous overcharges on my account. Staff were helpful and friendly no complaints about them or the truck. I returned the truck early as I only needed it for a few hours and the after hour check in is terrible and completely unnecessary. If the client isn't documenting their mileage, gas and vehicle condition themselves it is on them however having them stand around and fill out that online form for return is completely redundant. It should clearly say what will be required photo wise and information wise before you even reach the box. Aka just let the client know they should Log on while parked in the truck. I don't complain or feel the need to bring anything forward however after walking back and forth to the rental in the parking lot at midnight after moving all day and getting to the next page just to see they wanted more photos or info is bad customer service. I brought the truck back as described, I documented it myself. No need to take a life photo in order to prove it. Other than that experience was fine

Staff should be able to handle equipment. We are always asked to help take and take off a trailer. We should not have to do this. also, English should not be a second language. Courtesy is expected and should be mandatory.

When we arrived, the truck was NOT cleaned. There was garbage inside the cabin and dirt in the back of the truck. Given the current pandemic, this was disgusting and absolutely unacceptable. There were also extra blankets, a dolly and rope that I did not order and therefore had to spend time cleaning the truck and returning these items before leaving. Additionally, the snow was not brushed off the truck which is fine but there was no snow brush inside the truck to remove the snow. It's December. All-in-all, the rental was more hassle than helpful. I will not be renting with U-Haul again.

For my needs, UHaul was a perfect choice. Expected but did not have a walkaround inspection with an associate. Mostly to verify existing cosmetic damage before leaving with the vehicle. Was told to film a walkaround with my phone, This is a good idea to give the renter added protection,

After reading some very poor reviews I thought I must pass on my experience. The reservation was made over the telephone by a very friendly and informed representative. Picking up the trailer was also a pleasant surprise. The staff were neatly dressed in U-Haul uniform jackets. My paperwork was completed very quickly, probably because I took the time to pre-register an account on-line. The equipment was clean and neatly parked to gain easy back-in access. A staff member did most of the work hooking the trailer to my truck and took the time to make sure I was familiar with the features. Returning it was even simpler. A team-member guided me back into a very easy parking spot. By the time I got out of the truck and walked to the back it was nearly all unhooked. I had purchased the optional insurance, so no need to go into the office. A very warm “ have a good day” was issued and I drove away. The receipt was in my e-mail by the time I got home. My experience at this franchise will keep me coming back.

I rented a car trailer and one of the front straps that hold the tires in place was ripped and could not be used. This is a crucial part of the trailer. It is unsafe to use it but I had no choice. Is it not the policy of U-Haul employees to wear masks in the store? Some employees do not wear it at all and some only partially had it on their mouths

I tried to pick up from the mobile app and was looking for a match for the licence plate and didn't realize it was a vehicle code i was looking for. I had to go back in and stand in line. It would be great if that was made clearer to the user to avoid this happening to others going forward.

I was told that the appliance dolly that I ordered with the truck was not reserved as U-Haul does not reserve the dolly. This is not acceptable as I reserved it online. It made the small job we had to do much harder and there was damage done to the appliance it slipped off the regular dolly the attendant was nice enough to lend us.

Overall we did not have a good experience with Uhaul. We had booked a 10 foot truck to move a week before our move date but when a 15 foot truck became available on the website we snatched it up the day before the move only to receive a call that the truck was no longer available and the only thing they could provide us with was a van. We then asked what happened to the 10 foot truck we had just given up and we were told that they had overbooked 10 foot trucks which tells me that we may have shown up the day of and not even gotten the truck we had reserved. After explaining to the employee that we couldn't move out a 2 bedroom apartment in a van we were told that there was nothing else they could do. We then had to reschedule our moving date (and all the people we had reserved for that day) for when a 20 foot truck was available. I had reserved a dolly (and paid the $7) to be included in the truck but when we got to our destination the dolly was NOT in the truck so I had to send SOMEONE BACK to Uhaul to get the dolly as that was INSTRUMENTAL to our moving plans and when they got there they were given the choice between the broken stand up dolly or the base dolly. I had reserved the stand up dolly but since the one they had on hand was broken we obviously did not choose that one... It was clear when I got into the truck that it had NOT been cleaned or even wiped down after the last use and since we're in the middle of a GLOBAL PANDEMIC this did not make me feel safe or confident in Uhaul's ability to keep me, the customer, safe. Overall this was a very poor experience with Uhaul and makes me question if I would ever use your services again.

The customer service at this location is very poor. The service members charged me for cleaning. This was wrong as I brought the vehicle back in perfect condition. I have been a valued customer at this location however because of poor service and fraudulent charges for cleaning I will now allways be renting trucks from companies other than U-Haul in this area.
