1. Pickup process online was not well described. Waited in the one line for service because could not see designated vehicle on lot and did not know I was supposed to cut the line. 2. Vehicle was out fuel on pickup. On E. 3. Vehicle was dirty/sandy on floorboard at pickup. 4. Truck bed inside was very sandy. Single employee managing the counter was over busy but kept positive and was helpful. Employee who checked the vehicle back in was pleasant and helpful. Still have not received the emailed receipt which supposed to occur as part of the online process.

Slow at counter- didn't have brake light adapter- called me twice and accused me of still having the trailer after I had dropped it off and was “checked” out by an employee. You folks really should tighten up your operation.

This facility is so nice and clean…the floors always make me feel good about the care you take of the building. My only negative comments are regarding being put "on hold" for over 10 minutes two times when I called recently to check out.

The customer service could've been more friendly, and clearer about the mileage requirements so that an adjustment could've been made so that an additional amount owed was clearer at drop off and have more knowledge of the valley location.

The truck was in very poor shape with the seats being ripped and some rusted metal plate under the dash where a plastic cover should be. I was also charged $112 for fuel and I only went a total of 11,6 miles and I out $25 in fuel back into truck and left it with more fuel then what I got it for.

I think my honest opion would be to bite the bullet an buy blizzek tires  or the next step down (cheaper nexus tires) soft ice snow tread design. It will improve safety for customers & save money in the long run. Put them on in the winter an take off in the spring time when treat of ice 流 roads is over. My truck  had a crack across my field of vision on the windshield. Honestly I am happy with the service & customer satisfaction. If you saved a few lives it would be worth the hassle an it's a safety factor you could tell the public to win them over. Thank you  for the truck! Think about saving a life or the driving public! Tremendous public campaign that is winning 磊 an saving life & limbs! Would you save a child's life? I would! Thank you!

My storage monthly bill is $189. The day of the due date of October 18th, U-HAUL was going to charge me $210. Originally when I started my storage back in March 2022 I was told and read I had a 3-5 grace period to pay or a late fee would be added. I was completely removing all my belongings the 18th and was told if I didn't remove by 7pm of the 18th I was going to be charged $210. How when it's only $189 and I also just made a $981 payment a week prior.

I was/am appalled by not only the lack of preparation and organization on their part, but the incredibly poor customer service received. After reserving the truck online and taking an Uber there at 10pm, my husband and I ended up having to walk the entire lot 4 times looking at every single rental truck and the coinciding numbers on the top which were meant to match the keys. We had to call the 1-800 number twice and both times were directed to open all six lock boxes of which only two keys were available. Those two keys however, they didn't match any of the trucks on their property. If anyone knows Alaska and the weather this time of year, they would understand why at one point we needed to find an open truck and huddle together inside of it for body heat just to be able to go back out and search for our truck again. Whatever system is in place for after hour pick up and drop off needs to be revised and change. I used a prepaid card online and was charged an extra $100 for this rental. The next morning knowing what had happened we didn't receive a single follow-up phone call or email from the facility. When I reached out to them the only thing that was done to remedy this awful experience it was a refund, that of which will not appear back in my bank account for five to seven business days. No apology nothing done to ensure that we return to use the service again. We left the lot at 11:30 empty-handed having to buy another Uber back home without a plan b for moving our things. Not a single person suggested a complimentary rental or even a discount on one. Needless to say we will be finding other means from now on for rentals and moving our belongings, storage as well. I'm disappointed, angry, and still can't feel my fingertips. I fully intend on contacting the highest possible office within the U-Haul company to file a formal complaint about this. If anyone reading this is still trying to decide whether or not to use their service, I highly recommend otherwise. At the very least, use the other location on boundary avenue. At least the employees there have manners and want to help.

Employees didn't seem interested in providing good service, we felt like they were doing us a favor. Even though we made a car transport reservation with plenty of time, this location never guaranteed that it would be available the day of our departure, which made trip planning very hard. Alas, there are no other outfits to rent large moving trucks from, captive market is the worst. Thank you for listening.

They gave us the truck with the roll up door completely frozen shut. Thank goodness we noticed and had the UHaul staff member chip/pry/cut the ice away from the bottom of the door.

Customer service was very slow. The poor guy at the counter did not know how to work the full system. And the guy who did, did not stay to help. There were always about 3-4 people waiting in line. I had to wait 15 minutes just to get to the counter.

The location was clean and professional. It took me an hour and a half to stand in line to pick up my trailer when I did my reservations online the day before. There should be some sort of convenience checkout with the shortage of employees. There was only one cleark helping people. It was on his third day on the job. He did excellent job despite people being rude to him. We counted six people walking about, including the manager & no one could take time out to help check people out. Once outside, there was also only one guy there as well. He was incredible as well. In these days of employee shortages, it would be great if the manager or owner could pay attention to staffing needs. PS once checked out the line was three times longer than when I came in. I felt really bad for the counter person.

Each time I have rented a truck from this location it has been the same experience: disorganized, the keys aren't available, computer freezes or is very slow in processing all make for a long process. Of note, I went through the online process thinking that would speed things along, I was wrong. On the up side, the staff was very nice.

Either hire more customer service for the front desk or set up a spot for people that already have reservations to pick up a vehicle. There was only two employees working the front desk. The guy w/ curly hair was doing the best he could and apologized for the long wait. I got there at 9:50 for a 10:00 reservation for a truck. I didn't get key in hand until 10:40!! There was a younger guy that was at the front and he helped ONE person and then walked off leaving a line of about 10 people in line and having just the one person checking everyone in. Then when I FINALLY got the key, there was the young guy that walked off talking to another employee, when I approached them to ask if anyone was going to help the guy at the front, they both said to talk to someone else and ran behind a door laughing. I told the guy that was the last one in line that it'll probably be an hour to an hour and a half before he gets to the counter. What a mess

This was one of the most horrible experiences of my life!!! When returning the u-haul the front desk person who I believe name was Ramond at the old Seward location in Anchorage,Alaska told me to just leave the keys on the front seat and I did and the next morning I got a message that I had stolen the vehicle and he called my dad a d left the same message when the vehicle was there all the time!!! Embarrassing to my family!!! I want all hands on deck for this!! My number is 9077176462 I want nothing less than an apology note and full refund!!! I'll possibly take this to small claims if I have to.

It's much more affordable than the dealership but the appointment system is dumb. I booked an appointment online, went in at the scheduled time, then they said they don't have the part and they would call me to rebook when they got the part. I waited over a month for the call. Too long. And then they told me they had the hitch for a while and they forgot to call me. So I waited way longer than I needed to wait. It was annoying. But the actual installation went really smoothly and they were friendly once it actually happened. And like I said, affordable!

I am still battling with U Haul because the store did not mark my tow dolly as returned (even though the man there admitted to renting it back out). Getting a charge to my bank account for almost 500 dollars and being told I have to wait up to 72 hours to have someone call me is unacceptable. The computer was not working, and I was not given a receipt when I returned it which is now a fatal mistake

I reserved a trailer at the Boundary Ave. location. The location was changed to Old Seward, but I did not realize that until I arrived at Boundary and was told they had no trailers available. A clear notice in the online portal that the location was different would have been helpful and appreciated. The person who told me there were no trailers available at Boundary was very rude. The person who helped me behind the counter at Old Seward was great. Five stars for Gerry (Gerald) who helped me hook up the trailer at Old Seward, great guy and great job.

I recommend you Do not leave dolly at location without getting a receipt. I was charged for an extra day because I followed staffs instructions for drop off, just unhitch and leave it. They failed to note it was returned Saturday, until they called me Sunday asking when I was returning it. Then they charged me an extra for using a trailer dolly that was on their lot Dumb

Van smelled like a smoker used it. I had the van for 6 days and the smell made me want to puke everyday. I just wish they could have given me the truck I ordered. I was told they didn't have any trucks but there were definitely trucks in the parking lot available when I rented the van. I think this location did not clean the vehicle, nor did they want to rent the truck out to me because I was needing it for 6 days and they figured they could rent the truck out to multiple people within the same day, 4 hours at a time. I think I was guaranteed a truck and then they wanted to make money, so instead they rented me a disgusting smelling van

I have rented from this location quite a few times and each time the truck's condition gets worse. This time the truck was very dirty but also had a really big hole in the seat. It was trash and should have gotten out of the fleet along time ago. I considered it current condition to be very unsafe as the visor kept falling down, the window had a crack over most of it and I was surprised it was able to get checked out as unclean and unsafe as it was. Also I had reserved a 10ft truck but I got this 15ft piece of junk.

You charged me a $44 fuel surcharge for driving the vehicle 12miles, I couldn't put the gas in I used because it was less than a gallon. You people are false advertising thrives, when I rent a truck advertised at 19,5 and get a bill for $88. Get bent!

Make sure to have a vehicle ready when people book ahead of time. I booked a 10 foot van 5 days ahead, but when I showed up ,they told me they don't have a key for it. They only had cargo van available for me. The customer service was bad, lack of knowledge, not a good problem solver. She acted like nothing was wrong. Very disappointed, will never go back to this location and will everyone I know bot to go there.

I've had a storage unit in Anchorage for the past 10+ years and this facility and it's staff have always been great to deal with. They respond quickly to any of my needs and have communicated well via phone and email. My rental experience here has been excellent and I'd highly recommend this facility!

First off, my last name is wrong. He asked me 3 times AND it's on my drivers license I gave him. The last name on the unit is nothing near my actual last name. Also, both Uhaul website and the papers I was given when I paid for the unit say access hours are until 10pm. We loaded up my car and got there at 7:30 to have it be closed. So the whole day was pointless because my husband leaves for the slope at 6am and is gone 2 weeks. That's 2 weeks rent I could've saved because I cannot move it by myself. We had to come home and unload my car back into the house until he's home.

I had paid for 24hr access. As I was hours from leaving the country and storing my entire household at the U-Haul location, my access card was not working after hours. The number for manager in charge - Bri -, no one answered for more than an hour and U-Haul customer service also was unable to reach her after many attempts. As a result, I could not miss my flight, and my unit was left open and a cart of my items left just inside the door. I had to conitnuously call the next morning (after flying out of Anchorage) to get someone to lock my unit. The valuable household items on the cart had disappeared. I was told that my account was not authorized for 24hr access, though my charges paid clearly showed that was paying for them. Additionally, as preparing to move my items in storage overseas, my colleague made attemtps to contact the same manager -Bri- via phone to arrange transfer into a U-Box, but was again unreachable. If a manager is going to be unavailable, there should be an alternate to cover responsibilities to support customers. When I move back to Anchorage, unfortuately, I will be chosing a different location for the storage of my items. It's too bad, as the facility and most of the staff are great, but the most important services and management responsible for providing them are lacking. My collegue who helped me, he provided similar feedback and will also have the same advice to others using that property location.

Disappointed in the lack of lighting inside the storage room. There was trouble with the locks for the outside doors… No one seemed to have a key to open the outside roll up door when I was trying to move my stuff out so I had to go to the set of doors to the left that didn't have a smooth transition to the outside which made it hard with the carts.

Online process was excellent. I received emails regarding access codes and times the facility was open. Then, got to the site with a friend to download a trailer full of belongings and the building and storage room I was assigned was not accessible when I arrived at 7:30 pm. The emails I received showed 24 hours access and another from 5 am to 10 pm. But, the building sign showed 7 am to 7 pm. I was frustrated that I couldn't get after hour assistance as well. I had to take additional time off from work to download everything without assistance the next day. I do appreciate the young lady at the counter the next day however, she listened to my concerns and helped me extend the rental trailer that was due in that day and even got me a storage unit switched over to the building that was accessible to me after 7 pm. This really turned a difficult situation into a good outcome and showed me their customer service commitment. I am a person that expects businesses to practice what they preach in all aspects and will communicate any discrepancies to the highest levels of management. But, I will also give a positive response to good customer service assistance when It's done. So, I personally want to thank this team at the front rental counter for the excellent experience after my frustration with the initial online and on-site move. Thank you for taking care of this once frustrated customer.

Staff were very kind and personable; however, the second floor of the storage facility is not ADA-accessible (there is no elevator, only stairs) and the only available storage unit in the size I needed was on the second floor. Because of mobility issues and lack of ADA access, it will take me multiple days to finish unloading my items into my unit. In addition, to unload or load items into/from the units you have to enter through the main store entrance and have staff accompany you to unlock side doors that access a narrow alley outside. Otherwise you're forced to cart them through the main store area, which is difficult to maneuver a dolly or flat cart through, and through multiple card-keyed doors that you must register and unlock each time. To access the alley you must go in the main store and request that staff accompany you to unlock the outside access doors in an alley then walk back out to the front to drive your vehicle around to the alley. The alley is barely wide enough to accommodate a parked vehicle while allowing any others to pass yet it is the only exit for all vehicles being used to access the storage unit areas. Five stars for the employees (and it's not their fault the building was built the way it was), one star for accessibility difficulties. Giving it an overall rating of "below average" as all other storage facilities I've ever been to are ADA-accessible and do not suffer from the complex vehicle access challenges this one has. I would have chosen a different facility but my U-pod is being shipped to and stored at this one and once it arrives I plan to the items from my storage unit into it. I didn't want to be juggling storage at two different businesses.

International self storage on c str and international in Anchorage I feel the ones running it is who is trying to break in. It happened during day not at night they claimed Our stuff was safe but I wasn't taking chances. I got a unit at unhaul right away. Be warned it is not worth going any place else. Besides u-haul offers insurance. That alone is worth it to me. The woman who helped us was super awesome and showed us how to gain access and gave us a map. She totally rocks!!!!!!!!(

Storage experience was excellent. I appreciated the security protocols, and especially the climate and humidity controls since I stored art works as well as photos. I would encourage management to add desk personnel during hours of high customers numbers to reduce the line wait time. I moved out properly and I was still charged rent the next month and even a late fee. I called this location and was never able to get a hold of anyone, and would have to wait literally hours on the general customer service line. It took three calls to the customer service line to resolve the issue--lors of wasted time.

Code was wrong. I had to go in. Girl at the counter said my code would work. It did not. Came back a 2nd time and the code still did not work. I was then informed that access to storage on my side is only until 7 pm? I still don't know if that's true but the fact that there is confusion about whether or not I can get to my unit at the quote AND EMAILED time 5am to 10pm pisses me off. I will not be getting a 2nd month and I will move my business elsewhere. My code did not work so the girl gave me a new code. That one worked, but it should never have even been an issue. Get your crap together uhaul.

Hi so I reserve a storage where I have an access for 24 hours and when I got there they didnt even know I had a storage unit reserved and on top of that i thought when u sign up reserve we get free automatic pad locks? I have to pay for the lock waited and greeted with unpleasant attitude but thats fine because it seems like the guy was having a bad day and hard day. Ray was God Sent. I've been to this U-Haul location a few times and Ray has always been Professional, kind, and expeditious. I almost gave away and vintage bicycle due to a move and lack of space when Ray asked, do you need a rental unit? We recently had a bunch come available. The young man working the front desk lacks in customer service skills. I feel that he is not knowledgeable about the storage options and he did not provide clarity about location of the unit we rented and did not mention that uhaul had their own locks on the unit. The person that answered the phone when we realized we could not access the unit due to being locked, was very helpful and had someone come unlock the unit for us very quickly. Overall the Uhaul experience was great, with the exception of the young man at the desk, he may need more training on how to interact with customers. Merci.

If you want a square to put your belongings in, Uhaul has expensive rooms for that. If you want to wait forever in line, Uhaul knows how to waste your time. If you wanted to be offended, Uhaul hires the best customer service people for that. I'll tell you, if I am providing you a good amount of money for a weak service, and your employees give me any attitude (hateful female I have encountered twice), or do not make me feel valued as a customer; I will create accounts around the web and make this review noticed. You want to waste my time, charge my card and hold my money, and then when I call to speak with the General Manager, Steve Womack doesn't answer. What a disgrace to the Uhaul community. It is difficult to mess up a franchise, where all you have to do is support the business model and keep happy customers.

My experience with Uhaul storage was perfect until the day I moved out. I had reserved a 10' truck to move out my belongings on the last day of my billing cycle. The reservation was for a return trip with a base cost of $19.99. When I arrived to pick up the truck, I was told by the Asst. Mgr there were no 10' trucks to rent, that Uhaul had overbooked. I was then told there was a 10' truck but it was only for one ways and it would be $118 and I'd have to drop it off at another Uhaul location. I was not going to pay $100 more for a truck especially b/c this was not my fault. Nor did I have the time to drop the truck off on the other side of town. I instead started unloading my storage with my car but because the location closes at 7 I had to return the next day to finish. The Asst Mngr said I wouldn't be charged for the next month since I was now on day 1 of the next billing cycle, but I was charged and had to speak with a Uhaul rep (Raymond - who was excellent!) about reversing the charges. I had to take off the 1/2 half of this day from work in order to empty the storage unit as well. Lastly, when I asked about the $50 guarantee that's posted on your wall behind the counter, I was told my reservation didn't qualify because of the overbooking. This makes no sense. I made a reservation - the reservation was not fulfilled. It caused me all sorts of trouble, but the guarantee isn't valid because you overbooked? I have worked as a Logisitics Manager the past decade and have both used Uhaul for personal moves as well as for work related moves. I'll be hesitant to put myself in the same position with the company going forward and will be looking at other options.
