U-Haul has a great system in place from reserving the equipment online to pick-up to return. I just pulled up with the truck and the attendant said, "You're good to go." You cannot get more convenient than that! Great job, U-Haul!

Staff and store were efficient, clean, and professional. The equipment needed some servicing (tire pressure warnings and a coolant smell) but considering the absolute chaos of a college-town move-in weekend, these guys were really first-rate. Good job.

Place was clean, well stocked with supplies, most importantly the supplies were organized not random piles of chaos. Parking lot was set up for optimum use and flow, if you read the signs process was extremely smooth in and out. Employee's were courteous and cordial; knew the computer and rental processing which moved people in and out quickly and smoothly.

Sunday hours would be helpful - even if limited. Megan (the manager) was AMAZING! She was helpful, informed, efficient, patient, and accommodating. I sure hope she is there when I bring my business back next summer - and I hope she is amply recognized and rewarded for the work she does. She is the reason I will come back.

I signed up for mobile pickup, but that option wasn't available when I arrived. When I asked inside the store the employee mumbled something about “Yea, they are trying to control overtime.” Not sure what that meant and really don't care. I just wanted to pick my rental up without having to go in the store and wait. However, the employee immediately took care of my rental and got me on my way. He was thorough and quick. When I returned my rental 3 days later, (I didn't bother to see if mobile return was even an option. Over time and all), there appeared to be only one employee working. There was a line and she was dealing with a customer who appeared to be picking up, but their rental wasn't there or something and the customer was trying to understand and the employee said, “You just have to wait on the call. They will call you and let you know when and where to pickup.”, which led to a conversation about possibly having to pick up at another location. The employee shrugged and said “It's just how it is and I have no control. Just wait for the call.” No apologies, no empathy, no customer service. Just an attitude of “I can't help you, please leave the store and get out of the line, so I can help these people in line.” I'm sure it was pretty frustrating to both. About halfway through assisting the next customer, the employee stopped and shouted, “Any one just returning?” I raised my hand, she pointed to me and said, “Just put your keys here and I'll get to it when I can and you'll get an email receipt.” Left the keys, took photos of the truck and mileage and left passing what appeared 2 more sets of customers picking up. Sure am glad I wasn't picking up that day.

I moved from California to Alabama using three storage pods from U-Haul. I was told my pods would be delivered to me in Alabama as soon as I got there. They would not deliver to me, I went through so much trauma I almost had a nervous breakdown trying to deal with the people in Auburn Alabama. I ended up paying almost $1 000 to get my belongings. Even today they have pending charges for storage on my credit card even though the pods were moved from their location using their trucks and trailers on August 3rd. I have never had such a horrible experience in my life and I am 75 years old. People were rude and totally unknowledgeable as I was told I couldn't be delivered to for so many bogus reasons. It's almost as if they just make up their own story as they go. I would never ever use U-Haul again nor will I recommend it, I will totally discourage anyone from using the U-Haul system which is sad because the California end went so well until I got to Alabama and everything went down the toilet. I will never

Location given to me for trailer return was not in service, no UHaul sign, no one at the business. Google search gave several options but none answered the phone. I drove the trailer to 2 additional places. The 3rd tried to refer me to a 4th place but I said I would not leave with the trailer. Appreciate all of the help in Chattanooga but the Auburn businesses fell woefully short in every way.

Customer service was awful. No updates were given to me when the plans changed. I had to call dispatch and sit on hold for hours on multiple occasion. My boxes did not get delivered when they said they would and did not arrive together. It was also not very clear that the boxes were coming on two separate trailers. The third box was delivered backwards on the trailer and could not be accessed. This took another day to get swapped around. Overall, the experience was abysmal and the delays and lack of customer service created unneeded stress throughout our move.

I was directed to an overflow lot 20 minutes away and was not able to check the truck in. Added miles a potentially a fuel level issue. Suggest they check the truck in before asking the customer to return to another location or hire personnel to reposition equipment during predictable peak times. I had to spend hours waiting for a call back to complete the rental and was not able to contact the store directly with the published number.

The after-hours rental return process was a bit cumbersome, with all the photos that had to be taken and submitted.

The truck had a faulty sensor that "dinged" the entire time that I drove. It (the sensor) claimed the parking break was on when it wasn't. I pulled off several times to determine it was a problem with the truck and not something I did. Since I paid for mileage, this likely added cost to my trip in addition to the headache and stress this loud dinging caused. There was no time to examine the truck before I pulled out because I was at the front of a long line of others waiting for me to pull out. I admit this is a busy time to be moving, but there should be a way for me to examine the truck (at which time I could have caught the sensor issue) to be sure it was ready to be rented.

I entered my reservation weeks before I need the truck and when I arrived to pick it up at the arranged location they tell my my reservation had been moved to another dealer 25 minutes away. I get to the 2nd location an I am told that they do not have a truck for me. I was told call the customer service hot line. I did and I sat on hold for 40 minutes and then was disconnected so I called back and just requested a call a call back. Meanwhile I only have 1 day to get this move done so I started calling around myself to see what I could find and as I gave my reservation number to people one of them said that my reservation had been moved by UHAUL to the next day at 5pm. How can UHAUL just move an order without notice. This a terrible business practice. I final got a local representative that was good her job and she found me a trailer. So I go to that location and thankfully Todd the representative was about to work a miracle and get me truck. But UHAUL's overall business model it terrible. So if you place an online order you better confirm it days before and the day off before you need it because UHAUL WILL screw you over.

Overall horrible experience! I recommend paying extra to use Penske or any other company except Uhaul. First the day started with them sending me 50 miles in the opposite direction of my truck rental to pickup the auto transport. I canceled a reservation the a few days before and made it very clear I wanted everything in the same location. Somehow I showed up and nothing was in place. I spoke with 8 different Uhaul representative just to get a voucher to cover the added miles which were not my fault. Each time I could either get transferred to “another supervisor” or hung up on in my face. When I finally got that issue worked out I returned my truck go UHaul in Auburn the girl at the desk had another customer and was very rude! I asked her to add voucher to cover added my miles she told me to get her the keys and she would check truck and handle everything. So I trusted her and I did. Something told me not too I get home and get charged nearly $300 extra for not returning everything to original location. I never received anything in my rental contract or paper stating this information. Turns out the guy who runs the place lied to me he verbally told me I could return all equipment to the same location instead of returning trailer at the nearby location I picked it up from! I. I called Uhaul and was put on horn and additional 2 hours and now I am waiting to see if they will actually make the situation right and not cost me anymore time or waste anymore of my money! Horrible experience! I would not recommend this Uhaul company or Uhaul of Auburn, Alabama

Take a video of the vehicle before and after you use it. Take pictures of all blemishes. Uhaul will try to screw your over and make you pay for past damages.
