I had some issues with the truck and the roadside assistance was completely useless. They did not have any service available in Auburn at the time (near downtown). However, the lady in charge of the store was exceptionally helpful. The only reason I will rent again is only for the great customer service in the store.

They didn't want to take the truck back. I was greeted by a man that immediately started yelling at me for pulling my truck into their lot. Said his lot was full and to take the truck 15 miles away to another location. I had to hand him the keys and walk away while he was yelling at me the entire time. NOT a good experience as all.

Lot was full and sent us to an overflow lot on Williamson. We dropped it off and no one was there to receive it and check it in. However, I called the facility and they were helpful and reassured us we wouldn't get charged extra

I scheduled weeks in advance a U-Haul truck in Auburn, AL for 10 days. The day I was set to pick the truck for apt move-out, I received a call from your customer service center, Nicole, stating I would have to drive to Roanoke, AL to get the truck (1 hour away). The U-Haul reservation with you all meant nothing. I called back to your customer service (on hold each time @30 minutes) and they offered a 26 foot also 30-40 miles away or the 10-foot 1 hour away. None of these options would work. With a pandemic, I had no one to take me an hour back and forth to pick up your U-Haul and I needed this time to move not drive 2 hours. This is not what was reserved. My mother called customer service and tried her best to explain to Nicole the issue and she seemed not to care at all. My mother told her that we needed to get someone to drive the U-Haul from Roanoke to Auburn and to call me back when it was confirmed. She told my mom she would not call her back and she would not do that in her not caring tone. After an hour, my mom called her back and of course, she did not take her call. We then spoke with Tia who was able to get a truck 32 miles away (40 minutes). We had no other option than to take it. This meant, My mom came out of quarantine and I drove 2 hours to Auburn, picked me up, putting me and her at risk, to drive 32 miles to pick up a U-Haul truck. Again, all of this is because U-Haul could not keep their promise, with a reservation that was made in advance and we paid $50 reservation fee upfront to keep. The entire 2 hours My mom drove from Atlanta to Auburn she called your U-Haul customer service (lots of wait time, on holds,2 hang-ups, 7 transfers). She was trying to make sure I would not be charged for the miles on the U-Haul since it was your screw up, to confirm that we could return the truck in Auburn, etc. Again, 2 hours of on hold and transfers led me back to Nicole who would only return the $50 reservation charge and nothing more. You all have NO customer service. You all are horrible! The only shining part of this was the lady in Phoenix City, AL that gave us the truck. She listened and did her best to help. I still have no idea what you all have/will charge me. I plan to post this message out on social media if I get no response from you all.

A little confusing when we were told to drive 6 miles down the road to overflow but no one was at that location to check us in . All in all though checkin was handled online and worked great

The truck interior had not been cleaned. After I returned the truck, and before I left the location in my personal vehicle, an employee parked the truck in the same place where I had obtained it that morning. It appeared to be ready for the next customer with no cleaning done. In a pandemic.

This entire experience was difficult. Technology is terrible. Service and convenience are worse. Will only rent again if there are no other options.

UHAUL desk representative was did not want to be there, he was not helpful at all and acted like the customers were an inconvenience. On top of that, the "lot was full" and he sent us 20 minutes away to drop off the truck at an overfill lot while letting other trucks enter the lot for processing and drop off. Evidently, if the unit was not rented there and was a one-way rental, they were sending them offsite. Very unprofessional

Considering everyone needs to move stuff and this is an option I can't say I wouldn't recommend it but I would expect there to be a truck at the time that I reserved one. If there isn't one available do not let me successfully reserve it for that time. Moving takes time and requires help from others and to be respectful of the time that people are giving generously to you having everything needed (i.e. the truck is important). A lot of people were disappointed by the hours long delay in truck availability after booking online, simply do better

Barely pulled in to return trailer and asked to drive to alternate location to ultimately drop off trailer and no staff was there. We just dumped the trailer.

U-Haul's reservation system is broken. In January of 2020 I made a reservation online for a move in July/August. In April of 2020, I updated the reservation by calling the auburn store. At no point during this process did u-haul or the Auburn store notify me of the policy that I could not keep the truck for one week during peak times. Instead, I was notified 48 hours before my move that my reservation was changed leaving me to scramble and attempt to find alternate plans. I called the auburn store and I called customer service where I was on hold for more than 45 minutes. Each time, no one could help me because of the policy for peak moving times. I have no problem with the policy, however I have a massive problem with how it's handled. Why couldn't anyone inform me of this policy when I reserved in January? Or when I spoke with someone in store in April? Even more, why can someone make a reservation online that contradicts your policy? U-Haul needs more customer service and communication on the front end and a major overhaul on their supply chain management. I don't have plans of ever using u-haul in the future once this move is complete. Pretty much anything would be better than this.
