I return the truck on time Sunday. I waited he said I was clear to go. Thursday received a email I was late my miles was over and gas mileage total was 107.00 why was it 4 days later they email me that. I will never rent from them again.

I initially rented a truck in Troy but then I was informed I would need to get the truck in Montgomery. I called and requested extra mileage since I had to drive the truck to Troy to start and was told she gave me 53 extra miles. At checkout I was not credited those miles. That shouldn’t have happened.

This was my first solo move (meaning without my parent's help) and I could have used a lot more support than I got from the Auburn Uhaul. My main problem came with the auto transport that I ordered. I expressed concern about leaving the store with the truck and autotransport since the movers would need to load the truck still and I was unsure of how they could do that with the auto transport attached and if I would be able to even load my car by myself at home. I asked the sales guy if I could pick up the autotransport later and the Uhaul guys could help me with that (I even expressed surprise that they were giving me the autotransport already since I wasn't really expecting it) and although I can't quote what he told me, he made me feel like I was being dumb and silly for not just taking it all and handling it myself. To his credit he thoroughly explained how I would load my car, and showed my all the do-it-yourself resources (manual/Youtube/etc), but to say I had problems in the end would be an understatement. I did ALOT of crying over the next 48 hours. Absolute trial by fire for no real reason.

I reserved a 5x8 trailer for a 9am pickup. Two days before the reservation date an email from UHaul informed me I could pick it up at 6pm. That would not accommodate my need. I made a call to the local vendor but was answered by the national or regional call center. Luckily they could confirm a 4x8 trailer for 9am. This is unprofessional. A confirmed reservation should be honored.

Scheduled pickup a week out trailer did not have functioning lights I was advised he did not have any others to offer was I able to take it of course I was in need I feel as if this should have been tested before the time of pickup / or prior dropped from previous customer I spent half a day rewireing lights the correct way The gentlemen was nice but I do not feel as if a customer should be put in a predicament where that’s the only option or do without

In this Coronavirus climate (or even outside of it), my expectation was to receive a clean truck given the mobile check in/out preference email I received from Uhaul. Instead, I found an empty bottle of hand sanitizer and upon wiping the seats and dashboard myself, finished with a dust/dirt filled Clorox wipe I used. Also, despite my request to avoid and Uhaul’s apparent preference to avoid contact, I was forced to pause mobile check-in because the key was not in the truck. As I approached the service area, someone yelled without revealing themselves that “you need to go inside for the key.” What’s the point of me requesting and Uhaul encouraging mobile check-in??? Last but not least, upon returning the truck, I explained that the truck and dolly I rented from this location was in place (I didn’t use the dolly). However, there was an extra one in the back that was mine. I then proceeded to my car to load and was met by a gentleman who asked if I needed help. No, I responded. He then asked me where I got the dolly. I told him it was father in law’s who had died almost ten years ago; we’ve had it ever since. He replied, “Well he must have stolen it.” Excuse me, “that offends me” I said. He then stated that “we don’t sell those.” I told him you’re right, because I did not buy it from you. He then proceeded to write something as he inspected the dolly in my back seat. I told him if he needed to reach me, they had all of my information in their system and left. This location apparently has a monopoly in this area as it’s the largest. Despite my determination to rent from other locations for today’s truck given a previous bad experience, my reservation kept reverting to this location. Against my better judgement, I proceeded, but after today’s culmination of how poorly customers are treated, I will never return and will absolutely urge anyone else I know to do the same. Why would he assume and declare “he must have stolen it?” Because I’m black?! I believe so, but I will not digest or internalize ignorance. Far more important to use my energy where it’s most important...by encouraging others to spend their money elsewhere.
