The national call center is lacking. Based on my experience with calling in, I can no longer recommend uhaul. The Auburn location is amazing though!Matthew B.

We paid in advance for the equipment, and was told that they will attach the auto transport, well was delayed a whole day. No one was there to assist with this issue. I was promised a discount and extra miles/days, but they didn't deliver. We also had to purchase a dolly. due to the truck not having one. Firstly, Megan was extremely pleasant and made the drop off easy and painless. Please give her kudos. The person that ruined the entire experience was the big man with red hair/red beard that was very condescending to me when I decided not to purchase the trailer insurance. He presented his reasoning for purchasing the insurance in a bullying manner which sounded like the worst used car salesman you've ever encountered. I definitely felt belittled by not choosing to buy the insurance. He rushed through the entire process telling me that I better take plenty of pictures of the trailer as I'll be responsible for any damages. When I walked out to take pictures he told me I couldn't take pictures until it was hooked up to my truck. I was confused and I asked him repeatedly why I couldn't take pictures as I was thinking that I needed to do so for my protection. He then told me that â€œif I would shut up, he would explain it again â€œ. Obviously, this is amazingly poor behavior and I question his ability to have the proper temperament for the job. After bringing my truck around, I did tell him that I wasn't understanding him but he never offered an apology to me. I went inside and asked him his name and he refused to give it to me once I told him it was to file a complaint. He said to tell whoever I was going to complain to that he was the big guy with the beard. The location is the U-Haul on Opelika Rd in Auburn, AL.Scott M.

Showed up at 6:45 to return the truck because I have had issues with the online return. They told me they closed at 7 when I picked up the truck. The door was locked and it looked like no one was in there. Online also said they closed at 7. Had issues with the online return again. Love this location and have never had problems during open hours, but was frustrating to hurry and unpack to get back before close to still have to do the online return where the website kept saying it timed out and had to start over multiple times. Not the stores fault for the online system being faulty, but they closed early.Allison E.
Business was closed when I dropped off the trailer. Drop off procedures on the phone were good. I would have liked to have posted a few other pictures when dropping off, but I did not see any way to do it. Trailer vehicle tie downs were ratty. Could use replacement. Otherwise, trailer performed well. And at the rediculous price I had to pay, it had better work well.LeighF S.

when i reserved the truck online, I was given the option to opt out of the damage coverage. However, when i picked up the truck, i was charged for the coverage. When I questioned this, I was told that the coverage was not optional on pickup trucks. I was in a hurry and did not have time to argue the point, but I definitely felt like I had been misled, either by U-Haul or the local store.Matthew S.

The onsite manager was rude and dismissive and would not allow me to fully document the preexisting damages to the vehicle. She pulled away the staff member who was in the middle of processing the vehicle pickup. I was polite through the entire time and simply wanted to picture the dozens of significant dents, chips, gashes and missing hubcap that were not previously marked on the vehicle. There were two dents more than eight inches across. I'll never rent again.Jeff G.

U-Haul has a great system in place from reserving the equipment online to pick-up to return. I just pulled up with the truck and the attendant said, "You're good to go." You cannot get more convenient than that! Great job, U-Haul!Jeff H.

Place was clean, well stocked with supplies, most importantly the supplies were organized not random piles of chaos. Parking lot was set up for optimum use and flow, if you read the signs process was extremely smooth in and out. I signed up for mobile pickup, but that option wasn't available when I arrived. When I asked inside the store the employee mumbled something about â€œYea, they are trying to control overtime.â€ Not sure what that meant and really don't care. I just wanted to pick my rental up without having to go in the store and wait. However, the employee immediately took care of my rental and got me on my way. He was thorough and quick. When I returned my rental 3 days later, (I didn't bother to see if mobile return was even an option. Over time and all), there appeared to be only one employee working. There was a line and she was dealing with a customer who appeared to be picking up, but their rental wasn't there or something and the customer was trying to understand and the employee said, â€œYou just have to wait on the call. They will call you and let you know when and where to pickup.â€, which led to a conversation about possibly having to pick up at another location. The employee shrugged and said â€œIt's just how it is and I have no control. Just wait for the call.â€ No apologies, no empathy, no customer service. Just an attitude of â€œI can't help you, please leave the store and get out of the line, so I can help these people in line.â€ I'm sure it was pretty frustrating to both. About halfway through assisting the next customer, the employee stopped and shouted, â€œAny one just returning?â€ I raised my hand, she pointed to me and said, â€œJust put your keys here and I'll get to it when I can and you'll get an email receipt.â€ Left the keys, took photos of the truck and mileage and left passing what appeared 2 more sets of customers picking up. Sure am glad I wasn't picking up that day.Joseph B.

I moved from California to Alabama using three storage pods from U-Haul. I was told my pods would be delivered to me in Alabama as soon as I got there. They would not deliver to me, I went through so much trauma I almost had a nervous breakdown trying to deal with the people in Auburn Alabama. I ended up paying almost $1 000 to get my belongings. Even today they have pending charges for storage on my credit card even though the pods were moved from their location using their trucks and trailers on August 3rd. I have never had such a horrible experience in my life and I am 75 years old. People were rude and totally unknowledgeable as I was told I couldn't be delivered to for so many bogus reasons. It's almost as if they just make up their own story as they go. I would never ever use U-Haul again nor will I recommend it, I will totally discourage anyone from using the U-Haul system which is sad because the California end went so well until I got to Alabama and everything went down the toilet. Location given to me for trailer return was not in service, no UHaul sign, no one at the business. Google search gave several options but none answered the phone. I drove the trailer to 2 additional places. The 3rd tried to refer me to a 4th place but I said I would not leave with the trailer.
