Upon returning the equipment, uhaul.com/share would not send me the mobile verification code. I requested it at least 5x. I continued to drop the keys in the drop box and called an uber. I called uhaul on Sunday just to make sure my equipment was received, and they said "Yes". I wake up this morning to a $300 receipt stating that I put 173 miles on this rental! I went 10 miles, and back! This is the 2nd time in a row where there's been a problem renting equipment from this location. I spend $400 a month with this company, please look into this.ahren V.

Customer service needs MUCH improvement. My time was NOT taken seriously. I made reservations online. I also set up my payment so I wouldn't have a long wait when I arrive to the Uhaul store front. My reservation was at 12nâ€¦. I arrived on time, yet I didn't have a flatbed for me. I physically walked out to the parking lot to see their inventory. I pointed out 3 flatbeds to the guy who was checking inventory in. A pickup truck, and flatbed was reserved and requested online. After waiting over a hour I got a box truck, and flatbed, NOT WHAT I WANTED! It took them over a hour to get a flatbed that lights work! The lady who helped me showed absolutely NO regards. Never saw a manager! Terrible experience, and I WILL NOT recommend ANYONE to come this location! #EVERSelina L.

The worst customer service. I made the reservation for my son using a live agent because he, not I would be picking the truck up and used my American Express Card to secure it. When he arrived, they insisted on my drivers' license. When it wouldn't upload I asked why they needed it when he was driving. Finally they took his. I used my AmEX card to secure the truck on the phone and they insisted that the physical card be there which was impossible. I specifically booked the truck using a live agent because I am in another city and wanted the card used to secure the truck. He ended up paying for the truck in cash ($232). Had we not been able to pay cash he would not have gotten the truck. He was to meet me in Columbus which is 100 miles away by a certain time and it took an hour to sort out something that should have been done in a few minutes and made him an hour late. They changed my reservation the day before and I was not made aware. Went to the wrong location for pickup and they literally did nothing to help with this inconvenience. They claimed a call was made and voicemail was left but in this day and age, you really are going to go with that cop out? The truck had a check engine light on and had less gas than indicated in my contract. My contract was amended and I filled up the tank to the appropriate level, but Uhaul charged me a total of $80 to fill it back up due to improperly updated documentation. My comment is not for Memorial Drive which I was switched to after the debacle at Tradition Market & Garden. Unfortunately, the web page does not let me rate the latter one... I had booked a 17' truck from 9AM on last Saturday to 9AM on Sunday. The location was about 1 mile away from my place which is important since I get charged 0. 99 $/mile. I arrived at about 9:15 Am and the app did not work. I asked the U-Haul agent who smirked at me and told me I'd better hurry to book the truck because they were other people looking for one. He got then to make me wait for about 30mn... There was another client who was waiting for his 15' truck that had not arrived and the smirking agent gave him my 17' truck, telling me that I had just had to be on time and this would not have happened. I was then transferred to the Memorial drive location to pick up another truck... On arrival, the manager was very professional and friendly and booked me a 17' truck to come back 5 mn later apologizing that it did not start and he had to give me a 15' truck. In compensation, he gave me a solid discount on the mileage. The truck operated fairly, considering that the belt was screeching at each acceleration and it made me worry that it would fail anytime. It did not. The truck was also dented all around but this was not shown on the provided pics in the app. I uploaded all the pics of the dents prior to take off. Apart from that, Memorial drive was fine but I do not think I will ever use U-Haul again, considering that the whole ordeal wasted about 3 hours of my precious moving time and made me drive 20 extra miles.... But seriously, the smirk on the agent face and his visible satisfaction of denying me my due truck was unsufferable!!!Henri S.

First off the truck smelled like pot. Then As soon as I turned out of the parking lot the check engine light came on. I called the store and was assured there was. I thing wrong with the truck and it was just a sensor. The entire time driving the truck it was shaking and it was difficult to steer. Told them when I brought the truck back and they didn't seem to bothered. The truck had like 170k miles and is not safe to drive.Jon H.

The van I rented had NOT been cleaned. It was incredibly filthy. There was dried ice cream on the floor, there was trash on the floor in the back of the van and front. The WORST service I've EVER HAD- employees were extremely rude and playing around in the job site.. the girl rep was taking personal calls and cursing/hanging up on clientsâ€¦ they forgot to put the Handtrucks I rented in the truck.. When I called customer service they stated they would adjust it in the final bill and only charged for what was used and then I got the final bill and was charged the full amount for everything. These people change my rate plan and over charged my account I was very disappointed with the lack of communication and unprofessional attitudes I feel like I have been charged to much they charged me more than the receipt they sent to my email they charge me for the weekly rate and I only the truck for 3 days not to mention I reserved the truck for onr rate and when I got there all that change I am not happy at all with this location.Demetrius R.

The truck smelled bad in the cab and the interior is in very bad condition. The outside of the truck was very dirty and beat up. The back door is rusted and coming apart. The steering had about a 20 degree drift. As a CDL driver, this is extremely dangerous for this size of vehicle. It has a major oil leak which leaked all over my brand new poured driveway. The 2 young women in the lobby were extremely unprofessional behaving like they were doing me a favor by doing their job. I'm not happy or impressed with this location at all.DAVID C.
The corporation needs to stop overcharging. The vehicle is one price and they charge on every mile. Like who is getting a UHaul for 1 mile. The price said $29.99. I ended up paying $70 at pick up and $130 after drop off. And I filled the tank back to where it was. The staff was pleasant and helpful but this Corporation...drained my pocketsQuinessa C.
The staff at this Uhaul went above and beyond to help me. The Uhaul website needs to be updated!!!! It allows reservations that cannot be honored at the local stores. I made a reservation for 5 days and it went through the website fine. I get to the location, and the policy is that you cannot rent for more than 12 hours on a weekend. The website needs to match the availability, or someone needs to contact you BEFORE you make plans and commitments based upon your reservation.Tiffany S.

The check engine light was on the vehicle. I thought it was amazing that a 2021 vehicle would have dents on the driver's door and lots of paint spilled in the cargo section. However, since the vehicle was new it ran extremely well and was very good on gas.Leon L.
Overall, I experienced good customer service. However, the truck I was issued was a deathtrap! The passenger door never closed properly and the truck was in need of extensive service. Namely, a wheel or steering alignment. The truck shook anytime you exceeded 40 miles per hour. Also, there was a stench in the seats and seat belts that amplified throughout the day. The only reason I did not return the truck was because my movers were minutes away to load the truck. I did not have time. This is not the norm with UHaul. I have used them for several moves between states. I am disappointed.Carrol W.

Despite a reservation the truck I had ordered wasn't there. In trying to find and then get to a location that did have a truck available I lost over an hour of time and total of 6 man hours of people who I'd arranged to come help load. This location was kind and helpful. I originally rented a truck at the Clairmont Rd location - when we arrived it was closed (even thought it was during open business hours). We spent over 30 minutes on hold trying to find another uhaul location, then drove another 30 minutes to get there. This is the second time this has happened, when I rent a truck for one location and arrive at my scheduled time only to find the location is closed or no one is there working. Then, it made it even harder to return because the location was so much further than the location I intended...so had to pay for more gas and more miles put on the truck. I have been a loyal uhaul customer for years, but my last 2 experiences have not been good at all. It does make me want to rent from another company.Lauren E.

The truck stalled while i was on a major highway twice almost causing an accident. I was given the truck on empty, empty!!!!!!! I filled it up for them. Oh wait they only reemburse for a quarter tank. I just ate over a $100 in gas that I put in the truck for me but got screwed by uhaul. I will never rent from uhaul again. I highly recommend to put trailer brakes so you don't destroy the customer's transmission. I will not be ordering from uhaul ever again. Customer service was great though. Instead of just covering your end for legality purposes with the emergency disconnect braking, how about adding a trailer brake connection to communicate with the truck.Tristen L.

The manager was unprofessional he gave my paperwork my key and everything else to someone that accompanied me not one time did he even speak to me and the storage manager is obviously a drug attic thief that kept putting a lock on my unit even though my storage was paid and the day I came to move out neither manager was there and we had to pay $150 for a locksmith to cut the lock off my unit because they never gave me a key very unprofessional A lot of my things were missing and it cost me money just to get my items stolen from me sentimental items that can never be replaced are gone my washer was stolen and a bunch of my daughters clothing and shoes I would never use this facility again probably not U-Haul. I would not recommend this facility to anybody. Because there Computer System is not working right and keeps overcharging me. As also keeps charging me for a lock, which I had not purchased from them....and nobody could get the mix up straight. So they still own me money....and when I moved out of there because of the unprofessional situation I still had to pay for that full month !!! I'm very frustrated with the way that happened and I still want my money back....I have been coming to that facility for 2 weeks now just about every day trying to find a solution to get my money back. Well, I rented my unit a week early and it was the last unit at the time. When I moved and got to what was supposed to be my unit, it was a lock on it that I didn't put there. The staff thought maybe they were the ones who put it on to preserve the integrity of my purchase, but come to find out they actually rented my unit to someone else. Imagine how unnerving that was with almost everything you own in the back of U-Haul that time was winding down on. Luckily there was a unit that had just been vacated and I was able to get it, but what if it wasn't one available? I'm supposed to talk to management about compensation and resolution... Neesha has poor attitude and is condescending and makes customers want to respond negatively. Reba Caldwell lacks customer service skills nessassary in the field she is currently working in. Both these employees do not have the skills set to work in customer service. They show how ghetto the area this facility is located in is. Reba portrayed in every interaction I've had with her lack of professionalism. IF Jerell and max (I think that's their names) we're not working there I am for sure it would've gotten shot up or something because of how crazy Reba speaks to people. I will never again use this uhaul storage location nor their box truck simply because of Neesha and Reba. And poor Justin the manager tries but it seems like he's scared of the potential retaliation (attitude) of those two to speak to them. I was not initially aware of policy of no move in after hours so I had to extend my uhual reservations (with associated costs) to reschedule my move in of things into the storage unit. Prior to arriving that evening I tried to call the office to make sure I would be able to move in at that time but there was no answer on the phone after multiple attempts. The reasons for the low score: 1. The access hours should be until 10:00 PM like other storage facilities. Just because one person disobeyed the rules doesn't mean that the hours should have been changed for everyone. 2. I do not appreciate receiving a phone call every month from your staff to remind me that my due date is coming up. This is child's play and I do not appreciate it. As a customer, I signed a contract agreeing to pay our bill by a certain date, and if I don't, there are late fees and other measures in place that I must adhere to in order to keep my account active. I don't need to reminder phone calls. Just follow the contract. 3. An emergency contact should not be required to rent a unit. At the beginning of the pandemic, I lost my job, therefore, understandably, I was three or four days late in paying my bill a couple of times. However, each time, as punishment, a letter was sent to my emergency contact informing them of my lateness. Emergency contacts should only be used in the event of an emergency, not because I'm a few days late making my payment! Overall, I do not agree with the way business is conducted at the Avondale U-Haul Storage. When reached Uhaul Storage of Avondale I was told that the last climax control unit was given away that morning. Now that's DISTURBING with FALSE PRETENSE!!! There is trash everywhere on the ground at the two loading dock areas. There are no trash cans insight for customers to use and the staff doesn't take pride in the workplace enough to pick it up. There are too many staff member cars parked near the loading docks. Uhaul trucks and vans are often left parked by loading docks for days. One was even full of rotting trash that smelled bad. So many issues. Took months to get issues resolved, and seemilngly lack of process awareness across the board. Last day being overcharged for renting a truck after utilizing storage facility for 2 years was the final straw. I didn't even utilize the truck for a full 8 hours and was charged for 2 days, that made no sense. Love the facility and the ease of checking in online. However, instructions regarding how to access the facility were not clear. I needed to "check-in" first before using the keypad to access the facility. Also, it was after hours and no information was provided to indicate that I would need a 24-hour access card. I ended up not using any UHAUL services, this time around. I demanded a refund, actually. I reserved a storage unit and truck 3 weeks in advance. Went to check on the unit 1 day before moving, and was sent on a wild goose chase to 3 different UHAUL facilities before being so emotionally drained, I ended up in tears at the last facility (the "new guy" didn't know what he was doing and kept insisting that he didn't have the storage unit I needed until I burst into tears and he FINALLY went to get someone that knew what they were doing). I will never ever use Uhaul again after this experience. I come from a military background, and have used Uhaul my entire life, and will strongly urge my family to never use you all ever again either. Extra Space Storage is a much better company. They have 5 star reviews on google, the lady there was SO SWEET to me. Clean facilities. I called them the morning of my move, told them about my Uhaul experience and they took care of me right away. Cheaper units as well. I know Uhaul won't care that one person and her family doesn't use their services, but the peace of mind of dealing with a company and people that treat you well makes a world of difference for me. Service was overall good, but wait time was 45min to a hour from the point of arrival and getting the access card to my storage unit. The line was growing and customers were becoming extremely impatient, as only one person was working the main desk. The young man did an excellent job by remaining professional and managing the disgruntled customers. He was conductBig business between 2 POS stations at once, to try to keep the line moving. To add insult to injury, the POS was acting up and he had to manually key in payment details. In a huge facility there was no one willing to help out or any back up available, although the line was long and steadily growing . If I hadn't had movers scheduled to arrive, I would have gone to another facility. The wait time is always long and there seems to only be one person scheduled, even before the pandemic this was my experience. About 2 years ago I had previously used this storage location to store some items and unfortunately had the same experience.
