we used U-boxx to move from nyc to LA and it worked great. our move from LA to ATL was horrible. Uhaul refused to deliver with a fork lift which i told them was best and when they came to deliver it discovered a trailer is challenging and didnt deliver. I had to go get each container myself with a trailer and fill and bring it back. After dropping it off and saying its ready to ship the unit sat at the warehouse in LA for weeks. I called to check progess and they said its still here in LA. Not sure why bec they knew it was ready to ship. Well they ened up missing the date by 10 days and every day it was late I was calling and nobody even knew where the containers were. I kept getting forwarded to random offices who would just toss me on hold or transfer me. completely infuriating. I dont think ill use the service again. Customer service was just horrible and Id rather go with another company to move my goods.Patrick A.

Vehicle ran OK but I was told the CEL was on because â€œour trucks are oldâ€ and â€œvehicle has a bad O2 sensorâ€. Vehicle achieved well below the advertised fuel mileage and I am sure the age and having a bad O2 sensor was part of that. Paying $.99 per mile and the fuel made this seem like a really bad value.James L.

ok so the truck was first of all not what i had ordered. and i had reserved for another location. when i arrived at the location i reserved at, i was told the rental was not there. i then was told they had it at another location in decatur, so i had to get in an uber to get there. then after that i was told that the truck i needed (a 9') wasn't available for 3 more hours. so i ended up with the biggest truck i've ever driven. it was 26' and i am 6'1 but it was insanely tall even for me. the alignment was off for the steering so i had to keep it at a 30 degree angle. it shook like a washing machine on spin cycle. it got about 7 miles a gallon - which was so insanely expensive to pay for the gas from atlanta to new york city. the people at the pickup location were nice and efficient, but the equipment could have been better maintained. engine light always on, no washer fluid, and the windshield was dirty when i picked it up. the truck smelled like it was leaking gas from all angles. overall, exhausting experience.MICHAELJ M.
Lady at the counter had little to no knowledge of anything to do with the rental. I was made to pay a Damage waiver fee which I didn't want to pay but was told I had no choice. The lady honestly was more concerned by the texts she was getting than me and a number of times decided to ignore me and my wife whilst she looked at and laughed at texts. It was honestly one of the worst experiences i have had whilst stood at a counter trying to pick up anything. Would not go back to this location. Staff need to know what they are talking about and surely the client is more important than a text from her Girl Friend about her weekend antics! Also the rental of 19,95 $ is totally mis advertised. For 19,95 $ all you can do is look at the Van you cant actually go anywhere unless you pay more!NICHOLAS B.
This was the worst experience I have had while moving. First of all it takes to long to get an answer when I called, as they transfer you around. back and forth. Instead of scheduling my delivery, they schedule me for access. WHAT?? Then they charged me for not delivering on the date 8/27. Finally, it was scheduled for Saturday 9/4. I drove to the location(uhaul) to make sure they had the correct address the day before because as I called I could not get the location to answer. On 9/4 they called and said it would be delivered between 10-4. I called at 4:00 and was told that they did not have the correct delivery address so it would be Sunday. After I paid people to help me unload, but they didn't call or show. I didn't know they would not show until I called. On Sunday, I received a call saying they were 15mins away. Hello, I wasn't even 15 mins away, I had to get my people to help me unload with only a 15min notification. REALLY!!. I opened the unboxed and my things were everywhere as if they had been turned upside down. I had things destroyed, I had to throw things in the trash, it was a very unpleasant situation. I would not recommend using Uhaul. For the amount of money I spent, I could have hired a more professional company.Lakeisha M.

The truck I rented has a roach infestation. Fortunately I was only moving a few items to storage so I'll be able to bomb the items but they were on the sofa and micro fridge within a 15 minute drive. Had to throw the fridge away. These trucks should be fumigated often.Derek B.

When we were in the building waiting to pick up our U-Haul, 2 customers came in to dispute a charge. They were charged for things they didn't use. The staff was friendly and corrected it. But the next day, when I got my bill, it had over 60 $of charges that were not accurate. I called, and the staff was pleasant and corrected it. But in my small exposure, I saw 3 customers that could have been overcharged if they were not paying close attention. Which made me think---how many customers don't understand or catch it. And the frequency of inflated charges made it feel "scammy" and not just an accident. So while I would recommend this location (b/c it's the only one close to where i live), the recommendation would include a "double-check all your charges" comment along with it.DENNIS P.

Check in Process was slow and I had pre-registered and prepaid to save time. I didn't like how pickup location first accepted changed to another pick up location with confirmation text. Drop off location also changed from what I selected. Getting someone on the phone and able to talk is a problem. They also did not have appliance dolly in truck at pick up as requested and paid for...Peter H.
Put up signing that indicates that a physical copy of a driver's license is required, and a paper document cannot be accepted. I had a paper copy that was given by the DMV, but apparently UHaul does not take that as a valid government issued document. I would have waited to update my license if I had know that the government issued document would not be accepted. Additionally, the credit card terminals were non operational all three days I went to the location. The staff was excellent and professional! I'm disappointed in UHaul corporate for not supporting them properly.Casey D.

This process was a disaster from start to finish. First, the pickup location in Atlanta completely botched the pickup. With 30 minutes notice, they dropped off the box a day early, and picked it up a day late. Then, someone apparently went into the system and changed my delivery date, delaying the shipping to California of my box by two weeks. I spent hour a day on the phone with horrible customer service who told me every single day for two weeks that "your box is getting shipped today". None of this was true. The box sat in Atlanta for two full weeks before being shipped. It's a miracle that it was only 4 days late from the original date. To add further insult, the local store in Oakland bungled the return. After they picked up the finished empty box, a customer service rep told me that they had somehow changed the name on the reservation, erroneously charging me for a month's rent, which I am still fighting with them for a refund on. Absolutely absurd. Never again.Michael R.

The people are all nice, but need systems and training. A complete failure on the part of U-Haul Corporate office. Very sad and frustrating. Im happy to share my experience and ideas to correct. I waited in line for 20 or 30 minutes, I gave the GM my smid number he did not put the employee discount on the contract. We had to go and find the truck ourselves and on returning the truck my contract had to be put on hold because I had to go back in the store to get my employee discount applied. The UHaul that I employed for our GM is awesome and he he believes in premier customer service his name is Tavorris Moss at store 41 in College Park, Georgia.DORETHEA R.

We waited for an hour and a half to get a truck I reserved over a month before. At the counter I was told I didn't even have a reservation despite email proof. We got the last truck on the lot despite many others having truck reservations. There was no apology for the wait or for the lack of supplies. The contract was messed up and placed in the wrong name which I have been trying to get corrected for work purposes. So many problems with this rental. I had a 7am reservation that I booked online for a 'contact free' rental. When I arrived and began filling out the paperwork on my mobile, a gentleman pulled a box truck right up behind the cargo van blocking it in. I very politely asked him to move it as I was working on my paperwork and he replied that I needed to be 'verified' before he would move the truck. As I was paying for this with my AMEX and I have a valid GA DL, I don't know what level of 'verification' was necessary. I went inside to speak with an associate to figure out what he was referring to. Around this time the app notified me that my 'verification' was complete and I needed to go inside to get the key - which kinda defeats the purpose of 'contact free'...once again, I'll let that go for now. While I'm inside getting the key for my contact-free rental, I am informed that they can't find the key. The associate takes plenty of time poking around the desk looking for it before going outside to ask the person who previously told me that I needed to be verified. They appeared to have a very delightful conversation, all while I am waiting inside for the truck. When she finally does come back inside to let me know that the van will be pulled up, the app is no longer working. It won't let me complete my rental contract. She has to call into what appears to be a service desk. Here again, she has a lovely conversation with the person on the other end of the line - while on speaker phone so I can hear everything. The person on the other end spends several minutes telling her how the error is my fault - that I somehow miraculously finished my contract without ever have access to the key or being able to input gas/mileage/etc...It is beyond rude at this point and I am getting more than a little frustrated. When they do finally get the app sorted out and bring me out to the van. The emergency brake is malfunctioning. We can't get it to disengage. I have the gentleman from the beginning of this conversation trying to explain to me how to make it work, meanwhile a warning light is flashing on the screen that says that the brake is not working properly. At this point, I just need to get out of there. I was supposed to have a very simple 'contact free' rental, but in the end I spent almost an hour at the UHaul location trying to get the van. I was insulted and frankly I feel like I was put into a dangerous vehicle. The only reason that I took it is because I was moving out of my house that day and needed to be out by a certain time.Seth G.
Neesha has poor attitude and is condescending and makes customers want to respond negatively. Reba Caldwell lacks customer service skills nessassary in the field she is currently working in. Both these employees do not have the skills set to work in customer service. They show how ghetto the area this facility is located in is. Reba portrayed in every interaction I've had with her lack of professionalism. IF Jerell and max (I think that's their names) we're not working there I am for sure it would've gotten shot up or something because of how crazy Reba speaks to people. I will never again use this uhaul storage location nor their box truck simply because of Neesha and Reba. And poor Justin the manager tries but it seems like he's scared of the potential retaliation (attitude) of those two to speak to them. I was at this location only because of the abysmal experience that preceded being at this location. After confirming my reservation and location, I arrived to find that the original location had my truck but no key ( how does that happen)? After being in hold with the scheduling department, I was told that I would need to drive 75 miles to perhaps procure a truck. Only by happenstance did it arise that I could get the original 10 foot truck that was reserved the next morning at the above location - great. Upon arriving, the check-in was smooth and staff friendly and competent, but was the informed that the previous renter had broken the key and one could not be made by the general manger because it had to be laser cut and apparently in all of the greater Atlanta area that would be impossible. It seems unfathomable that even though there were at least a dozen 10 foot trucks on the lot, there was only one that was available for long distance. A manager, Matt, spoke with us and offered a 20 foot truck at the same cost with the caveat that we were lucky to get this truck. He and the rest of the staff were professional and helpful as we were able to procure the truck and make our move. My experience with U-haul overall was indeed an â€œAdventure in Movingâ€ with the overall message from U-haul was â€œNot our fault - that's on youâ€.HENRY K.

Went back in the store and was told to buy the wrong hitch accesories. This was after waiting in line for 40 min. When those hitch components didn't work, was told the right ones were out if stock. I booked my initial reservation for a specific location, I received a call 6 hours before my pickup time and was told the location was changed and I needed to make it by a time I wasn't able to. I was not initially aware of policy of no move in after hours so I had to extend my uhual reservations (with associated costs) to reschedule my move in of things into the storage unit. Prior to arriving that evening I tried to call the office to make sure I would be able to move in at that time but there was no answer on the phone after multiple attempts. Never received the truck y'all were overbooked very unprofessional just sitting talking not letting anyone know what's going on until I actually spoke up asking what the problem was because my pick up is 2 and I have to be at work at 4 asked if there was a sister company that had any and the sons was I don't think so probably not they were waiting on people to bring back trucks that were late I asked if I was getting a refund and the response was 50 % I said no 100 % because it's not my fault there's no trucks in the time I paid for. I reserved a 7:30 a.m. appointment and was prepared for a slight delay but not a 6 hour delay to install a wiring harness because I had already installed the trailer hitch the previous night and after waiting 6 hours to be told that they did not have the tow ball that I had already purchased online with the other items. The rep who assisted me was not very personable and quite rude by abruptly leaving her desk while assisting me to talk to someone and grab and eat her fries and drink not even excusing herself. Very rude and unprofessional. After waiting for nearly an hour, finally got my rental van and realized later after getting to my destination the back left tire was flat. Just because one person disobeyed the rules doesn't mean that the hours should have been changed for everyone. 2. I do not appreciate receiving a phone call every month from your staff to remind me that my due date is coming up. This is child's play and I do not appreciate it. As a customer, I signed a contract agreeing to pay our bill by a certain date, and if I don't, there are late fees and other measures in place that I must adhere to in order to keep my account active. I don't need to reminder phone calls. Just follow the contract. 3. An emergency contact should not be required to rent a unit. At the beginning of the pandemic, I lost my job, therefore, understandably, I was three or four days late in paying my bill a couple of times. However, each time, as punishment, a letter was sent to my emergency contact informing them of my lateness. Emergency contacts should only be used in the event of an emergency, not because I'm a few days late making my payment! Overall, I do not agree with the way business is conducted at the Avondale U-Haul Storage. I don't complain about much...BUT!!! I reserved a 'Climax Control Storage Unit. I was given a "RESERVATION NUMBER ON-LINE." I traveled from Boston to Georgia. When reached Uhaul Storage of Avondale I was told that the last climax control unit was given away that morning. Now that's DISTURBING with FALSE PRETENSE!!! My family was exhausted, tired and wanted to complete our temporary move. I have come to the conclusion that Uhaul "bets on that once the customer is there will take what's available. There is trash everywhere on the ground at the two loading dock areas. There are no trash cans insight for customers to use and the staff doesn't take pride in the workplace enough to pick it up. There are too many staff member cars parked near the loading docks. Uhaul trucks and vans are often left parked by loading docks for days. One was even full of rotting trash that smelled bad. So many issues. Took months to get issues resolved, and seemilngly lack of process awareness across the board. Last day being overcharged for renting a truck after utilizing storage facility for 2 years was the final straw. I didn't even utilize the truck for a full 8 hours and was charged for 2 days, that made no sense. Dyonn if I'm not mistaken the manger, made my experience with uhual much better. He has great customer service skills, and goes above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of. My previous experiences has been horrible, I was disrespected by the older manager who is a woman I do not recall her name, she has horrible customer service skills and is extremely rude I'm surprised she is in the position that she is in. I told myself I would never use uhual again. Love the facility and the ease of checking in online. However, instructions regarding how to access the facility were not clear. I needed to "check-in" first before using the keypad to access the facility. Also, it was after hours and no information was provided to indicate that I would need a 24-hour access card. I ended up not using any UHAUL services, this time around. I demanded a refund, actually. I reserved a storage unit and truck 3 weeks in advance. Went to check on the unit 1 day before moving, and was sent on a wild goose chase to 3 different UHAUL facilities before being so emotionally drained, I ended up in tears at the last facility (the "new guy" didn't know what he was doing and kept insisting that he didn't have the storage unit I needed until I burst into tears and he FINALLY went to get someone that knew what they were doing). I will never ever use Uhaul again after this experience. I come from a military background, and have used Uhaul my entire life, and will strongly urge my family to never use you all ever again either. Extra Space Storage is a much better company. They have 5 star reviews on google, the lady there was SO SWEET to me. Clean facilities. I called them the morning of my move, told them about my Uhaul experience and they took care of me right away. Cheaper units as well. I know Uhaul won't care that one person and her family doesn't use their services, but the peace of mind of dealing with a company and people that treat you well makes a world of difference for me. I was humiliated by a supervisor of yours because I let down unit door to just change a blouse which was quick, she was a few units down talking to three other people, sounded as if she was training one of them, she stated three times that she can evict me and stated a lie that I've been coming there at night. Why do I keep getting charged for things that I am not using? I was charged for a lock that I paid for the month before. To be honest, I have to answer the questions you asked in the way that I did. What you didn't ask was: Did my acces card ever work in 3 1/2 years? Answer: No. Did my code ever work in 3 1/2 years? Answer: No. Did an alarm sound every time I entered my space? Answer: Yes. Was the place UNDER-staffed (by mostly friendly people)? Answer: Yes. Did your website work when trying to move out? Answer: No. After calling Uhaul directly, did it solve the problem? Answer: No. Did you receive a bill and a phone call saying I owed even after having called Uhaul to move out? Answer: Yes! Service was overall good, but wait time was 45min to a hour from the point of arrival and getting the access card to my storage unit. The line was growing and customers were becoming extremely impatient, as only one person was working the main desk. The young man did an excellent job by remaining professional and managing the disgruntled customers. He was conductBig business between 2 POS stations at once, to try to keep the line moving. To add insult to injury, the POS was acting up and he had to manually key in payment details. In a huge facility there was no one willing to help out or any back up available, although the line was long and steadily growing . If I hadn't had movers scheduled to arrive, I would have gone to another facility. The wait time is always long and there seems to only be one person scheduled, even before the pandemic this was my experience. About 2 years ago I had previously used this storage location to store some items and unfortunately had the same experience. A manager never jumped in to assist or even approach their customers to say we apologize for the wait and this is after a customer demanded to speak with the manager, I never saw the manager came and they sent a message to the customer via the ear communications system.torria b. | Premières impressions
