I was charged for 4 days instead of 3 days. It told us to do the drop off app and we did but we were still charged for 4 days and that was fixed though. The truck did not run good it sounded awful it needs to be put down or fixed I did appreciate them extending my time though I did appreciate that muchJaime D.

I was there to have a trailer hitch installed. The installer was 45 minutes late getting there. I asked if there was a chair that I could use to work on my computer while I waited. No chair was available for customers who were waiting.. The store manager never apologized or showed the slightest concern. He and the other staff were dull, dreary and unhelpful to me and the other customers present at the time. The installer apologized several times for being late and did a very good job of installing the hitch. He should have been running the store!Kevin M.

Make key pickup closer to where the trucks are parked. First have to walk all the way around the building to locate my truck, then walk all the way back around to pick up key, then walk all around again to get in truck. If there's a problem with it, you then have to walk back and forth yet again. Also, all 4 wheels had low tire pressure warnings and one rear tire was just 16 PSI when it should be 80 PSI so I had to wait for an employee to come out and fill them all.CHAD W.

Check that the previous renter actually filled gas in the vehicle. The fuel gauge said full. I drove 20 miles and when I filled up. I had to put over 3,5 gallons of gas in. That's the equivalent of less than 6 miles per gallon. The fuel computer said I was getting over 20 mpg, which means I should have put in only about a gallon of gas, if the tank was actually full when I started.Dick W.

This location is fantastic and efficient. However, I was directed to this place only after my initial reservation didn't go through. It was a self-service pick up at 3555 S El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA 94403 using mobile app, but after talking to several persons over phone the app still didn't work (always showing "there was an error on our end"). I had to wait roughly 1 hour in order to finally get my reservation in this place, which was quick enough to help me to get what I want. It would be great if the online app process gets more improvement.Chen Z.

The pressure monitoring system on the truck originally assigned to me showed low pressure on one tire (clearly on the instrument panel and should have been caught by service staff). After I reported the problem, that truck was "swapped out" for another, but when I went to get it, I found it inaccessible in the center of a line of trucks! Finally, I was assigned a truck that was both accessible and drivable, but the time lost discovering problems and rewriting contracts, caused other problems for me. However, the staff member was very courteous and tried to solve the truck issues as best he could.Gerald F.

Unfortunately, I needed to change my reservation a few times due to COVID, and I didn't see a way to do this online, so I needed to call each time. In the future, It would be great to be able to make changes online (if this feature isn't already available) or make it more obvious how to do this (if the feature is available). They did not have the dollies we had reserved. The man there seemed contemptuous and dismissive that we expected the reservation, told us go elsewhere. Poor customer service. Their Yelp score is definitely justified. Checked out truck, some items not available for pick up that ordered and they made sure I picked up the item that had a daily rate. Other items that I purchased that were available I failed to pick up, but also was not mentioned during pickup either, but card was charged for everything. Once truck was picked up, headed to location for my move and realized that they didn't provide the items I purchased. Called and their excuse was they were not able to view the page that places orders online. Not, sorry for the inconvenience or let's see how we can fix this, but charged my card against the items that I ordered and never received and verbatim stated, yes they're here for you to pick up. Mentioned that I tested the lock connected to the truck to ensure it works and it did not. Ended up locking the lock and not opening again thereafter. Good thing the truck wasn't full of items and I didn't secure the lock on the roll up door. So along with making an unplanned trip back to u haul to pick up items that were not given during my initial visit, I had to purchase my own lock to lock the roll up door as the look is stuck in the locked position. No sense of urgency or how to run a business. Their saving Grace for their business is it's the only U-Haul of its same type as the next location is Redwood City so by default people go to this location and it is only by logistical default and not from their stellar service, clean trucks or above and beyond attitude. Wouldn't recommend and monitor your charges. Will initiate a customer action file as the delays experienced from the issues that arose for their lack of attention and business ethics put me further out into the day of which I was only expecting to use it for one day and ended using it for two.Kian A.

Requested a newer van. Lady at the counter assured me I had a new van but when I got to the lot it was an old van. Had to go back inside. Got the newer van, but then mileage and gas was not correct. Had to go back inside again. Then they tell me I should be getting a text where I can verify miles and condition. Why didn't they tell me that ahead of time. Although the counter person told me it was low on fuel, I requested another unit but my request was denied. I rented a pickup for two hours. What an outstanding experience with this location, the rental truck and the team! Easy, organized check-in; friendly, engaging employees; extremely clean, newer truck; easy return process. The store itself is well-stocked, organized and impressive. The truck, while driving, had a jerking motion on and off during the drive. Also, the headlight covers (not sure if that's what it's called) needs to be cleaned. I did all my original reservations on line. I signed up for the truck and storage unit. I have never rented a storage unit before and didn't live in the area so I relied on the people making the reservations advise me on the size of the unit and any important information, like closing time. Issues that happened: we arrived to unload the I haul truck at 2 minutes to 5 and they said they were closing and couldn't stay to do the paperwork since it was our first time to use the storage unit, no one told me that and we could have done the paperwork for the storage unit at the time we picked up the truck, but he never mentioned it. We then had to find a place to laid the filled truck because he wouldn't even let us park it there. We then had to hire back the people that we had hired to unload the truck for the next day. The next day when we came back, they didn't have the storage unit so reserved available, they rented it out since I made the reservation. They did find another one for us, unfortunately it was too small and I asked the person I made the reservation with what size they recommended for a one bedroom worth of furniture and boxes, I had no idea. It all fit in the truck I rented so i didn't question the size of the unit she recommended, but the contents wouldn't fit so they had to get me another one which was I've $100 more. To their credit, they are giving us the first month free for the inconvenience, but this was a very frustrating experience that could have been avoided with better communication on their part.joyce O. | Premières impressions
