I rented a 6x12 trailer the only problem is that there's no crank unit on the trailer to raise the trailer tong off the ground to reattach it to the tow vehicle. . this was a problem because where I was Loading and unloading the trailer I could not leave the trailer attached to my truck and once you load the trailer you can't pick up the tongue to reattach it to the truck. . So hopefully your company will do something to correct this problem. .JAMES ALLEN E.

the vehicle was relatively clean, but definitely not well maintained. the vehicle was in serious need of maintenance, and lots of it. although i did get everything done i needed to do, you should never have to be concerned with whether the vehicle will get you where you need to go. it had slightly less than 15000 miles on it, but those must have been hard miles. other than that, the whole thing went pretty well.DAVID STANLEY S.

There is a long list on what you could actually do for future experiences. First and foremost, the staff that I dealt with were phenomenal and my review doesn't reflect on any of them. This process had numerous break downs and was the worst moving experience I have ever had, and I've had a lot, retiring from the service. We'll start with the good: Staff courteous and helpful, at all locations and on the corporate help line. Furniture pads a nice touch, but actually too many, probably for the majority of people, but it's nicer to have too many than not enough. Contents arrived with very little shift or movement and stuff was mostly the way it was when it left from Las Vegas. The bad: The uhual site recommended 6 boxes for our house, the 800 number person recommended 8, we needed 10. The boxes are such that if you have long sofas, they wont fit width or height wise. This then creates a huge waste of space. If the boxes were about a foot and a half taller or wider, this would solve wasted space problems. The contract changes all of the time and you as the consumer can't look back on precious contracts. If I signed a contract for something, that contract shouldn't be able to be changed without my signature. The boxes were promised on a date, but they weren't actually delivered until nearly a week later. Again a contract issue. Had I not called the San Antonio uhual center, I'd probably still be waiting on my boxes. It seems that there is a lot of confusion and general lack of understanding when it comes to the Uboxes as a whole. At this point, I am still not sure what I have been charged and or what I agreed to for price. Because the contract changed several times without my approval, I can't see what I agreed to. All I know is what showed up on my credit card.James G.

I had register on line that took 20 min. when I arrived at the U-Haul front desk to claim the vehicle that I was going to rent was ready in 10 min after my arrival and was on the road, great staff all around, I would give them 10 stars out of 5, all the staff was wonderful , it was fast and easy to rent and I had saved over 100,00 $ro 200,00 $ of doing this myself than hiring a delivery company of picking up furniture from COSTCO and bringing it home. I wholeheartedly believe that this location was trying to scam me out of additional money, claiming to have different information on the reservation than what I originally requested. My belongings were supposed to be picked up from one home and brought to another home. Instead, it was brought to the location and they wanted to charge me an additional 99 $to bring it to the new home. No. When I called customer service, they could see all of the proper information. Customer service told me that they would correct the issue by getting "expedited shipping, along with the fee waived" for the error. I mention this to the location and was essentially called a liar. After the location having reviewed the call, I get a voicemail from the manager stating, â€œwe reviewed the called and the agent did say that she was gonna waive that, I'm not sure why, but we're gonna go ahead and honor that" (Grade F on customer service skills). A few hours later, my credit card was hit for 107 $. Because I was at work I couldn't call until 2 hours after the charge happened. When Brittany (the manager) got on the phone she apologized and said she was taking care of it right then, but alluded to already knowing that it happened. Why, if this was a mistake, did she wait until I called to refund the money? Would she have sent the refund if I didn't call? Will never do business with this location again and have already let everyone I know as well.Kym S.

The communication from the Vegas office was horrendous. They left me thinking for over a week, I was going to get the boxes for a cross country move because they couldn't book a driver and kept calling to change the dates to after I needed to be in my new state. We went back and forth for an entire week and it was always me who had to reach out to make sure they were actively trying to book my boxes for delivery before I had to actually move. I was given wrong information by that office that cost me another 300 $with the Moving Help company Trophy Moving who literally threatened to take my boxes back and not give me my stuff unless I paid it after I had already paid Uhaul for the services. So I paid almost 3 times what I should have for the boxes to be delivered to my storage unit and for them to be unloaded. Communication from the Dallas office was non existent. They never even attempted to contact me.Erin H.

I like renting from you but the Van I rented over the weekend and returned this morning @7 am, it just irritates the crap out of me that "change oil soon " is on dash. As a pretty loyal customer and making a round trip to Henderson to Alliante i dont want to see a change oil message on a truck. Takes ten min to change oil. What i find funny is you have techs sitting in the shop on their phones waiting to price gouge people to put hitches on cars but you cant change oil. That's how you can improve things. The motorcycle trailer was a rusted out bucket of bolts. The ramp screening was depressed so far down that I ripped up the bottom of my motorcycle going in and out. It would work for a sport bike, but not cruisers, which sit low to the ground. I'm going to take it to the dealer and have them put it up on a lift to check the bottom for damage this week.Charles L.

I had 3 units at your facility for over 3 years. Everything was going ok until my wife contacted your office well in advance that we were moving our household goods. She was informed that our trucks could not park next to our units to load and you had two UHAUL trucks parked across the driveway. They were parked in a fire zone. The policy of only one card per unit is inconvenient for the customer. This is the only facility, i rented from others, that has this policy. Unit was great, staff friendly, my only real complaint is the inability to prorate the unit. My new home had some delays and pushed me a couple days past the month. So I paid over 400 $dollars to rent a unit for like 35 days. While checking out I hear another customer who is checking out who came in on a free first month promo that is checking out on day 28 or so. She paid 0 $. I understand I didn't have a promo etc... but the fact that I not only rented the unit, I also rented a truck, bought hundreds of dollars in boxes and tape and other supplies from you. I have been storing my travel trailer with Uhaul for several months at this location. My wife told me numerous times we should not have it there it is not safe. The appearance of outside storage is that of a salvage yard. There are a few select nice units, other than that there are cars that are stripped, broken windows etc. I assured her that with the security of the place with cameras and other methods the trailer is going to be safe. This past Wednesday (5-13-20) we found all my wife's worries to come true. We went to pick up our trailer and found it had been broken into. Upon noticing I went directly to the office to alert them, and I was told by the staff that "not to make things better, but other storage companies in the area had a recent problem with this as well". Further once police arrive and we enter the trailer, we find it was not only broken into, but someone was living in it and had been for months!!! Shame on you uhaul!! You should at minimum have someone walking the storage lot at a minimum of once a month if not once a week. This is totally unacceptable business practice for people that are thinking they are "securing" their property in your storage lot. Once police left, I had the wonderful task of clearing out the trailer. I had two garbage bags full of this persons trash. I went to the front office and asked about throwing these away in a dumpster on site. The old man in the hitch shop said we cannot allow customers to throw trash in our dumpster. I explained to him the situation and he laughed in response. This type of response is completely unprofessional and makes me think this must happen everyday if he is just laughing it off. Some of the staff are friendly, others are quite off-putting. It is constantly chaotic in the sales area. I am very unhappy with the security of the RV storage area. My RV, and several others, were broken into and damaged. Little was done, I have asked several times if they found anything on the video and have gotten no response. They also are continuously raising their rates. I would rather stick my RV on the road where I know I will be able to keep an eye on it.DEAN S. | Expérience générale

Even though they were nice. They charged me for extra days. Charged me for lock because they said they only allow theirs in the unit. Even though I had my own. The alarm kept going off while i was loading into the unit. And was about to get charged for having 24 hour access to my things for almost pushing the closing the time back. Manger is not friendly and is know to lie about claims from customers. I was told he and some of the employees have given out access codes to get in and out and I think that is why my trailer was stolen. I was told He will not let the police see the video of the night my trailer was stolen and tells them it's up to corporate. I was a customer since 2013 and never missed my payments. When I needed to move out of one of my spots the manager and a employee failed to inform me I will not get my payment back for the storage since I was in the spot for three days past when I paid for the month. Both the manager and employee put someone in my spot on the same day I pulled my boat out on the third day after I made my payment for the month. There are other issues I had with the manager with my credit card being charged for my storage when I had auto pay in my account. When he took over as manager things in the storage yard have been a mess. He allows junk collectors to store in storage spots intended for boats, campers and vehicles. Again I will never rent anything associated with U-Haul and my fellow Veterans in the Veterans Organization will be sent a memo on how U-Haul treats Veterans.ENRIQUE O. | Expérience générale
