Inside of cab was still quite dirty. She gave it a very quick spray and wipe down inside as I was looking over the vehicle but I still had to clean it myself after I brought it home. Next time vehicles should be vacuumed and thoroughly cleaned inside if they need it before they are presented to the customer.

The sign posts were pretty clear, and they made it pretty effortless to drop my trailer off. I was relieved after the owner of the assigned drop off location in banner elk informed me that he had no room. I wish I had been able to come here first, but these guys knew what they were doing and made it super super easy.

It was a little confusing signed said one thing like to returns and after parking on a very busy Highway had to go into office. Then he told me to drive in the exit side. Then had to wait for this to get my trailer checked in. Then had to back the trailer in a tight space(iCant even drive the damn thing forward)

Verbally explain the after hours fee. Was not made aware. Was also told that the van could be returned at 10 PM, even though the paper indicated 9 PM. Customer service the next morning wasn't welcoming or polite when asked to explain the $20 charge.

It was difficult to find parking/a drop off area because there were so many vehicles everywhere. They also need upgraded POS machines because it took about 30 mins to process my transaction and would not take my debit card at all.

When checking out the vehicle I specifically asked 2 questions. 1. Will I be refunded any mileage I paid for but didn't use? 2. If I finish with the truck early can I return it safely and hope do I do that sheet hours. I was told yes, I should be refunded mileage I paid for and didn't use. And if returning after hours to just park the truck out front and put the key in the drop box. Imagine my surprise this morning when I received notification that I was charged a fee of $20 for returning the truck early. So beware... who knows what they charge if you are late!

This location was very constrictive. There are 2 entrances for equipment and they are very narrow. Other wise, the stock was very good and a lot of ppl were doing business here.

I rented a unit here and drove to the unit to find it had already been rented. I had to go elsewhere to rent a unit. As I was over in miles their mistake cost me money. They were polite and professional but the whole experience was horrible

Limited customer parking. Waited 1,5 hours to get a key for a 24/7 truck and the reservation was made online? Key should have been in the box outside with code access. Employees were extremely nice, but overwhelmed.

While unfortunately there were a lot of scheduling issues from the website, Jay and his coworker did an outstanding job ensuring everything went well considering the circumstances of not having the vehicles needed. They were both calm, kind and patient. I was extremely impressed with how they handled such a stressful situation. Thanks guys! We will be back! You are awesome! U-Haul, please fix your system.

I did not know my truck was in another city other than where I ordered it. When I arrived in Boone nc i was informed. They did offer a van and I decided to take it due to my daughter moving out of her college apartment. The only thing is the van had to be back by 7pm. Having no truck was a disappointment and instead of being home by 4 I got home at 9. I live 2 hours away over 100 miles 1 way. Not happy with Uhaul. The lady I spoke with was condensing but by end of our conversation she worked our a van.

The GM, a woman (I think) was a nightmare to deal with. Rude. Assuming. Lazy. Told me she was “literally too busy to answer the phone” but I walked in on her kicked back watching youtube. The gentleman working when I returned my trailer that evening was wonderful. Very nice, very helpful.

The truck smelled like wet dog and when I dropped the truck off the man was INCREDIBLY RUDE. made snarky comments about my ability to read signs and had an attitude. I can honestly say that I've never been treated so rudely by someone in a work place.

The gentleman that checked me in at drop off was rude. Told me I was all set that everything was good that I could leave. An hour later he called and told me I was late dropping off my uhaul and asked when I would be there. Very unorganized and rude. And this morning I noticed an additional 50 dollar charge from them that I will be disputing.

This location wasn't the issue. The issue is there was another Uhaul place closer to where I was located. I scheduled the rental far enough in advance that a truck could have been left there. But no I have to drive 1 stinking hour to Boone to get a truck and spend loads of money on gas to and from Boone. This to me was a deliberate tack to cost me more money than it should have.

While the truck was not dirty, I wouldn't say it was clean either. The steering wheel was sticky and the inside of the windsheild was smeared and in need of windex. However, the truck ran great and did what it was supposed to do. The cab would have benefitted from a wet rag or a Lysol wipe for sure.

Review staffing demands. The one employee was difficult to find as he was trying to help others in the storage area, I was trying to get my rental truck and another customer as trying to get the gate to open so he could leave. Great service once you find the employee.

Only one person was working during the busiest moving season. I asked how to return it after hours and he said “I don't know” even though my reservation said I could return it after hours. My wife returned the trailer the next day for me and the lady told her to unhook it herself and didn't mention where to unload it. She had to call me during work and I had to explain where to go and how to unhook it. I'm 90 % sure somewhere in the paper work it says the uhaul employee is suppose to do it. It's a very heavy trailer for a 5'4” woman. Terrible experience. The worst I've had at uhaul.

I lost about $15 000 of belongings due to a warehouse fire caused by a person who was living in one of the units. Not secure. No way. Not happy. No way. Will never use this facility again. Will not recommend it to others. Compensate me for my loss due to your negligence and I might be happier.

The storage unit was overrun with mice. Presumably neighboring tenants were storing food in their units. I had to routinely stock a lot of poison bait in mine to prevent damage to my stuff.

My daughter and I had one item left in the storage unit and could not put on the truck ourselves. One of the ladies at the front desk offered to help us get that one item into our moving truck. Saved a big headache from coming. She is an amazing person. I didn't get her name, she has blonde hair and a little overweight. God bless her.

The woman that helped me was really kind and patient. She made a tough day of moving light and sweet for a moment. She was really wonderful and helpful with everything. Mike and Zach, employees at U-Haul in Boone were professional and helpful but unfortunately, a new employee Jennifer did not answer the phone, nor return messages nor try to help us in any way. We spent about $1000K on 3 moving trucks over a 3 week period. 2 of the rentals entitled us to 2 months of free storage. I was told that I could use those consecutively but when I tried to call and verify at the end of the first month, I could never get through to Jennifer who needed to make the decision. Her ineptitude caused me to go over the first free month and since they did not honor their word and let me have the 2nd free month, I had to pay a whole month's rent for storage of a simple antique desk. I was entitled to 2 free months. The greed and unfriendliness makes me want to never recommend UHaul in Boone on hwy 105.

The facility was great. The online billing was not so good. I could not pay my bill until the day it was due. Until then, it showed a Zero balance due. With the first month free, it was misleading that my bill on month 2 was zero dollars as well. I received a late notice and paid the $15 late fee. If I had been notified that it was due, even the day of, I would have paid on time. Please considering allowing people to prepay and not have to wait until the day off to pay. I am aware there is an automatic payment option, but my rental was so short I did not want to use this feature. Merci.

Our confirmed reservation for a 20' truck was 'bumped' therefore we had no truck for moving. This was college move out/in weekend. The staff showed no concern at all and offered no solutions. We decided to rent a storage unit for 24 hours to be able to store and protect the large amount of home items we needed to move. The staff made no efforts to help or support us. Actually acting quite aloof about the whole issue. Not their problem, they didn't care. We rented a 10x10. As we were moving in to the unit, one staff member repeatedly was very aggressively driving past us, on a corner, and loudly telling us we had to move out of the way. It was unnecessary to be so aggressive. We were trying to stay out of the way with very little room to park our vehicles to unload/load. Other clients managed to get around us fine. I would never use this site again, nor Uhaul and I will be SURE to inform my friends/family of this nightmare situation. The biggest issue I have is the absolute lack of care or concern by the staff that Uhaul had caused this problem for us. We had our reservation and Uhaul didn't follow through with the vehicle.

My only comment is that we also tried to book a truck/ van/ tow for yesterday and were told that there were non available. It was frustrating doing frequent trips to the unit with our cars and seeing several trucks etc lined up in the facility. moving took a lot longer than it should have done , a van or tow would have meant we could have done it in one go.

After being under the impression I had my storage unit reserved, I moved ALL of my belongings into Boone as I'm searching for a home and after arriving at 4:30 in the office I was told my storage unit was not available and that they were closing soon so I couldn't see what size the next one below was. That WOULD NOT hold all of my belongings And now I am homeless with no where to keep my things. Extremely disappointed and unprofessional. I spent my entire day stressed and that's not something I could forget. The customer service was not the best To day the least.

The place seemed in disrepair (the gate to the facility was actually broken and remained open all the time) the monthly cost of a unit isn't prorated (we only used about half of the month at the time of our departure) and the unit we were originally set up with looked like it had a homeless person living in it (sleeping bag, microwave, yellow rice packet...) The only reason I'm not indicating "poor" for overall experience is because Olivia, the college student who seemed to be running the show both times I went into the office, was getting it done. She provided good customer service and seems like she's got a bright future ahead. But ultimately the facility's condition caused my wife and I to find storage elsewhere.

Disappointed to find that storage rates are not pro-rated upon moving out. I moved out a week after paying my storage fee, but I'm sure uhaul has already moved someone into the space I just gave up. Getting in and out was often a pain. The back gate has been broken, so you had to use the front gate (which was never closed) only to find it was often blocked by trucks getting checked in/out.

Too expensive compared to other storage facilities in the area. Too shard to access - seemed there was always a rental truck or trailer being checked in/out blocking the road !

Eveything was fine except when we took our mattress and box spring out it smelled terribly. Like moth balls. We couldn't get the smell out and it smelled up my sons apartment. Ended up having to buy

My unit was entered and my Sterling was stolen leaving the door opened. A rat came in and died. Uhaul forgot to check the box for my Amex and nearly auctioned my goods before calling my son. Horrib

The owner, Donald, is rude, simply put. Leaving Uhaul trucks blocking the storage areas and then being rude when he is asked to move them. Access areas were icy and snow covered for a most of December
