Stop charging such high fees and give accurate quotes. I was quoted 136 for rental and 100 miles. I drove 85 miles and ended up being charged 146 that is not right especially driving less miles than quoted.Andrew B.

I live in banner elk, therefore driving to and from boone and adding 19 cents a mile adds up!!! My initial email quote was around $41 plus mileage so my bill came to $83!!! At least the personnel were very helpful and caring people!!Theresa S.

The manager at this office charged me a late return fee, even though she told me she didn't when I called the next day to check (the person who checked me out assured me that would not happen as long as it was there before UHaul opened the next morning) m, - AND she charged me for insurance even though I declined it at check-in, and last but not least , she charged me almost $10 for gas when we DID fill the tank at the nearest gas station coming from Banner Elk, as we were. I have tried to reach her numerous times , maybe 10-12 times, but she is always gone by noon, and I'm not able to call in the morningâ€¦ Others that work there say she looked at my contract and that she did nothing wrong. In total she overcharged me over $40..! The few extra miles over my estimated amount is the only part she got right. I asked to speak to a manager over her and I was told she was the highest contact they could put me through to. I've used UHaul a lot this year and last year since moving into a new home, but just the nerve to lie to me when I spoke to her n then continue justifying her actions have so pissed me off, I will do no more business with this office ever again..! I have two storage units yet to unload in Boone and for sure I will NeVer use this office againnicki T.

The original appointment was at an address very close to us (262 Lemly Rd): Deep Gap Storage 6466 Old Hwy 421 S Deep Gap, NC 28618 However, upon arriving we were informed that they didn't have trucks and we actually needed to go to a place on the other side of Boone. We needed the truck to make two trips from our house to the Ashe County dump. Anyways, all that worked out fine except more than half the miles were spent driving to and from the truck's actual location (which was about 30 minutes each way).Derek H.

I originally was to drop off in banner elk. The rental agent was rude and said too drop it off in Newland. He said no and Banner Elk location is not to send people there for drop off ! this is very inconvenient to the renter. what ever problem is with these agents it needs to be fixed.CINDY W.

Better maintenance and inspection of trucks. I broke down on the side of I-85 due to a transmission issue that was already showing signs when I picked up the vehicle. Roadside assistance got the truck picked up, but did NOTHING to get me back home to North Carolina from Georgia. I had to pay a $600 Uber out of my own pocket.Derek H.

When dropping off a truck and trailer I was required to move from the equipment drop off to the back lot and then had to walk around the entire facility to get back to my ride home. It would be nice if the equipment drop off point was where you actually dropped off the equipment.Jeffery J.

We were very specific on our needs for this truck rental. It was to be a one way rental from Asheville, NC to Boone NC. We were told that we would be called with the information as to the location where the truck could be picked up. We received no such information either via phone, text or email. After calling, we were informed that the truck was scheduled for a local rental and was in Boone. While decidedly inconvenient, we managed to have someone go to your Boone location to get the truck. When they arrived at your Boone location, they were informed that the truck was in Mars Hill NC, North of Asheville. We needed to get the truck around 7:00 AM somewhere in east Asheville. When they arrived in Mars Hill, they discovered that the location did not open until 10:00 AM. We finally located a 15' truck in another location and managed. This was a very bad experience with your company and one which should have never happened. While a very nice person, your manager in Boone needs a significant amount of training in both customer service and attention to details.Joe M.

Mike and Zach, employees at U-Haul in Boone were professional and helpful but unfortunately, a new employee Jennifer did not answer the phone, nor return messages nor try to help us in any way. We spent about $1000K on 3 moving trucks over a 3 week period. 2 of the rentals entitled us to 2 months of free storage. I was told that I could use those consecutively but when I tried to call and verify at the end of the first month, I could never get through to Jennifer who needed to make the decision. Her ineptitude caused me to go over the first free month and since they did not honor their word and let me have the 2nd free month, I had to pay a whole month's rent for storage of a simple antique desk. I was entitled to 2 free months. The greed and unfriendliness makes me want to never recommend UHaul in Boone on hwy 105.Michael F. | Expérience générale

The facility was great. The online billing was not so good. I could not pay my bill until the day it was due. Until then, it showed a Zero balance due. With the first month free, it was misleading that my bill on month 2 was zero dollars as well. I received a late notice and paid the $15 late fee. If I had been notified that it was due, even the day of, I would have paid on time. Please considering allowing people to prepay and not have to wait until the day off to pay. Our confirmed reservation for a 20' truck was 'bumped' therefore we had no truck for moving. This was college move out/in weekend. The staff showed no concern at all and offered no solutions. We decided to rent a storage unit for 24 hours to be able to store and protect the large amount of home items we needed to move. The staff made no efforts to help or support us. Actually acting quite aloof about the whole issue. Not their problem, they didn't care. We rented a 10x10. As we were moving in to the unit, one staff member repeatedly was very aggressively driving past us, on a corner, and loudly telling us we had to move out of the way. It was unnecessary to be so aggressive. We were trying to stay out of the way with very little room to park our vehicles to unload/load. Other clients managed to get around us fine. I would never use this site again, nor Uhaul and I will be SURE to inform my friends/family of this nightmare situation. The biggest issue I have is the absolute lack of care or concern by the staff that Uhaul had caused this problem for us. My only comment is that we also tried to book a truck/ van/ tow for yesterday and were told that there were non available. After being under the impression I had my storage unit reserved, I moved ALL of my belongings into Boone as I'm searching for a home and after arriving at 4:30 in the office I was told my storage unit was not available and that they were closing soon so I couldn't see what size the next one below was. That WOULD NOT hold all of my belongings And now I am homeless with no where to keep my things. Extremely disappointed and unprofessional. The place seemed in disrepair (the gate to the facility was actually broken and remained open all the time) the monthly cost of a unit isn't prorated (we only used about half of the month at the time of our departure) and the unit we were originally set up with looked like it had a homeless person living in it (sleeping bag, microwave, yellow rice packet...) The only reason I'm not indicating "poor" for overall experience is because Olivia, the college student who seemed to be running the show both times I went into the office, was getting it done. She provided good customer service and seems like she's got a bright future ahead. But ultimately the facility's condition caused my wife and I to find storage elsewhere.lee m. | Expérience générale

Disappointed to find that storage rates are not pro-rated upon moving out. I moved out a week after paying my storage fee, but I'm sure uhaul has already moved someone into the space I just gave up. Getting in and out was often a pain.
