Front desk lady who checked me in was extremely helpful. She even came out to the van with me, turned the vehicle around for me, and helped me inspect the condition of the van. A+ customer service on her part.

The driver’s seat - need to fix the lever that controls the back of the seat to move forward or backward. The hazard lights need to be fixed too.

I first did a reservation on line to use the mobile to save time! Big mistake your procedure does not work right. I ended up starting from scratch at the store. Luckily the person helped me was very nice and got me a truck quickly. The check tire balance monitor light was on. I also found some stuff in the back of the truck so I asked the guy to get it out before I drove away.

While the staff were all excellent, the policies around gas is ludicrous. We were given a truck with a 1/4 tank of gas and expected to refill back to that level. This leads me to think that you’re charging customers gas fees, but not actually refilling the tank on your end. How am I supposed to estimate the tank of gas up to 1/4? Very frustrating. I used a truck for 6 hours and was charged $150. Seems like robbery, especially when you still post ads of renting trucks for $20 for local moves.

Took over a half hour to an hour to get the van. I wasn’t able to check in on my phone’s browser. Had to download the app. The UHaul app is horrible. I had to either provide a lease agreement, contact, etc. Which I didn’t know about. I was not able to upload a picture of the lease agreement; didn’t have it in my hands. Took more of my time and the time I was paying the mover. Finally, customer service called and helped bypass it. Checked in and than the keys were not in the lock box. Took over 20 mins to get in contact with customer service. Find out the keys were in another lock box. When I returned the van the same night, I never was able to check it out. So I was never able to check it in causing a surcharge fee. The whole entire time I was paying the mover to just stand around while I dealt with UHaul. There were also a person living in the UHaul Capitol Hill storage, which I felt unsafe in. Overall, HORRIBLE experience. I am still waiting for customer service to give me a discount and to remove the surcharge fee. I am not even asking for the amount spent on the mover waiting while I dealt with UHaul.

I rented a van and at my first stop I opened the door and the door partially fell off the hinge. I did not open the door forcefully or do anything out of the ordinary; however, I was charged for the damage. I believe the door was damaged and not properly repaired prior to my rental, but I am being charged for the damage. I emailed the uhaul location and the response was that I was responsible for the damage even though I explained the situation. I feel like I am being taken advantage of in this situation and I don't feel like uhaul is a reliable to company to continue using in the future, certainly not a company I feel safe or confident is renting from anymore.

Too much reliance on computer-gathered info between registering on-line, rechecking in, doing that again when I showed up, the process was slow and frustrating. In fact, it was the hardest part of the moving task. The truck was great. I have been a recent frequent customer and you would think we could have some kind of user profile with DL etc...since the system seems to be a nationwide centralized database--so this pain could be avoided.

Lack of air conditioning made the wait very uncomfortable. There was a long wait and I was late to meet my movers. There was a hidden $30.00 fill up fee that I was not aware of and was charged for paying for 3 gallons of gas.
