Information should be stored. This is the first time using this location but why do I have to put all my information in every time. The new process of verification was ridiculous. My wife was called at work. I am thinking about finding someone else to rent from

The storage facility unit was not 10 feet as advertised because there was a massive beam inside of it. This sort of thing needs to be reported. This created mayhem for me while I was trying to move in my 8 foot couch (it didn't fit).

The pick-up at this location was a disaster. The lot was a disorganized mess and the truck we were assigned was blocked in by 8-9 other trucks. We were provided a substitute, but there was nobody available to help us pick-up moving blankets and a dolly. This equipment was piled in a shed on the lot and most of the blankets were not bagged and many were wet. To make matters worse, the truck only had a half tank of gas.

The staff were great on a busy weekend. They were able to get me in a truck and on my way quickly after the online process was completed. U-Haul's online check-in process is a mess and needs to be redesigned for a better customer experience. The online experience, even with the helpful staff at this location, was one of the worst I've used.

The manager's customer service in the office was exceptional, and until I went to inspect the truck and pick up the other equipment, I would have given this location an "Excellent" 5-star rating. Unfortunately, when I went out to inspect the vehicle, our 15-foot truck was missing the blind-spot mirror on the right side, and it was obvious that the interior had not been cleaned (it reeked of cigarette smoke, there were large cigarette burns all along the window frame, the driver side door, and across the center console and dash, there was a spilled coffee stain in the cup holder, melted cream or something in the driver-side floor mat, weird yellow goo that had dripped on the inside of the passenger side door, some trash and a used floss pick or something in the bottom of the center dash compartment, etc.). Very clear that the staff had not even done the most basic of wipe-downs in the interior. Definitely not clean. Not even sanitary. The outside was also still covered in mud, and the windshield was dirty, so it didn't even look like they gave it a simple hose down after it was returned from its last use. They also told me to grab "two bags" of furniture pads, which I assumed would include the full two dozen I ordered, but it turns out there were only 6 pads per bag. And they didn't have any utility dollies or furniture dollies, so they just told me to take an appliance dolly, which wasn't what we needed. I was in a hurry to meet the movers, and after trying to sort out the dolly situation, I definitely didn't have enough time to run around and get the staff to clean the interior or provide a blind spot mirror, especially given that the office was a bit of a walk from the lot. Overall, great in-office experience, but the crew maintaining the equipment had very low standards (if they were even cleaning/ checking the trucks after each use, which seems questionable given the state of mine). Ultimately, the truck could drive, I had a partner for our trip up to NYC to check the right side blind spot, the back was empty, and the brakes worked, so I just left and got on with my moving day, but if I had had more time and patience, I would have asked for a substitute vehicle. Mostly, because when I returned it the next day at a different location, I was embarrassed for the state of the interior, I didn't want to get charged for the missing mirror, and I wasn't about to clean it all myself on top of moving out, loading, driving up to NY, moving in, and bringing the truck back to the Brooklyn drop-off location (all within 36 hours).

The staff was friendly and helpful. However the system was glitchy, and it took forever to get through the process of picking up a rental. I know things are likely busy on the first of the month, but U-Haul needs to fix their system to be able to handle it.

From beginning - the line to get to front desk was pretty long. But Charles most definitely helped us with the process. To drop off van- it was seamlessly experience, people who checked our van back in after long day of moving day.. they communicated with us from top to bottom. It was really good experience

I returned the vehicle after hours, and the barcode to confirm I was at the right drop-off location was either not posted or not clearly labeled. When my phone's location services didn't work, this made the return process very frustrating and take 30 minutes longer than it needed too.

So 2 things. I made my reservation online. It was for 7 AM on a Sunday even though the location didn't open till nine. I presumed I would be able to access the vehicle with a code or something. I also reserved a 9 foot van, for a one-way move. Nobody got there till nine when they opened, and then they informed me that you can't take a 9 foot one. That's two major problems.

Lots of customers had issues checking in with the U-Haul app. People working at the strore didn't really help. The app was horrible. It took me and others 45 minutes to get through it

I don't like using the UHaul app for checking in, there is always an issue that I have and end up completing it with a UHaul employee. I'd like to recognize Adrian at the K St NE location. He has helped me numerous times and he has always been very helpful. He provides excellent customer service and is a pleasure to work with. He is an asset to UHaul.

I had both this rental and a storage unit in NYC. Using the app, I confirmed and completed my reservation by scanning my drivers license and taking a selfie. However, that app seemed to only apply it to the storage unit and not to both reservations. When I went to pick up the Truck, at the counter we had to go through it all over again. This is unnecessary and the mobile app should have applied this process to both rentals. It was an un necessary inconvenience imposed by the mobile app. Not the rental location. This mobile app should be improved.

As a long term customer, I am interested in where former employees of U-haul move onto. I have met many fine and interesting individuals at the Capitol Hill location. It would be interesting to have a way to know more about U-haul alumni. For example, Tivey Goldring went on to become a DC Metropolitan Police Officer. I inquired about Christopher, the manager when I frequented U-haul Capitol Hill several years ago. No one seemed to know. Yes, it is an unusual request, but I can't believe I am alone in wanting to know more.

The experience was awful ranging rom the faulty equipment to poor customer service from disinterested workers. The first van had a tire system message one block from the rental location. It was changed for a second van that did not have a side door handle so it could not be opened. Finally, the third van worked. Workers do not help and instead, stand around insisting that a bar code be used regardless of the problems being experienced. I am truly shocked at the poor standards you uphold at the organization. Thanks to one employee, Charles, who had to intervene to get things handled.

My pick up was scheduled for 11 AM nothing stated that I must have a physical credit card so I had to figure that out. One rep was dismissive after I checked in online and sent me to a QR to scan and left me standing until finally another young man who was assisting another customer asked me for an update and later helped both the customer and myself. The truck location they told me was in D the truck was parked in SS. This was a circus and I do not recommend this location.

We were given a defective Uhaul van for our move this past weekend and charged a load of phony fees on top of it. When we picked up our van, we had prepaid for dollies to help with our move. The location had run out of utility dollies, so we could not take one - we were charged for one anyway. The back doors of the van we received could not open from the outside, meaning someone had to climb into the body of the vehicle and open them from the inside. Not ideal when you are moving an entire apartment's worth of furniture inside the vehicle. The real kicker came when we got our receipt for this rental. We returned the van at 4:45 pm when it was due at 5, but the location was too busy to process our return right away, so they told us to leave the keys and they would handle the paperwork when they could. They ended up MARKING OUR RETURN AS LATE and charging us for a 2-day rental, literally twice what we should have paid for a 1-day rental with insurance coverage. AND they charged us for two days' worth of rental equipment. They also charged us a cleaning fee when the van was returned in prime condition. Needless to say we are seething. When we called to dispute the charges, we were told that the manager has 4 days to respond to our dispute claim, and in the meantime we are being charged this unfair amount.

The onsite manager, a young woman needs extensive customer service training. She was incredibly rude to her workers and customers. She was not helpful as I still had to figure out the issue on my own. Her 2 co-workers were delightful and k del very bad for them as the manager was very disrespectful towards them. Additionally, when I went to pickup the vehicle there was human feces located directly in front of the truck as well as a used condom next to the driver side door. This location needs serious work. - 5/18 @10:30AM

The assigned uhauls that were set to be dispatched were back to back so we had to hope that the person in front arrived on time and left. The check in process killed 30 min of our rental time. The truck did not have the rented equipment inside and the location did not have the utility dolly and furniture dolly we had requested and needed.

I had to walk in mud to get In the truck it was parked in a big as water puddle and my shoes was muddy and it got in the truck so the floor of the truck was muddy. I also put gas In the tank and I wasn't sure if it took or not cause it didn't look like I did nothing and Wasted gas money. All I'm say better truck pick up with out someone getting dirty oh and the key was stuck in the side of the key slot so it was hard to put it in the truck. Shut up

Had some app difficulties once there, but that's on me. The can still smelled brand new and in great shape. Only issue two tires were low on air. Which were fixed, but was 45 minutes late leaving. Then it started to rain and the driver side windshield wiper got stuck past the side view mirror  so that made for a ride I will never forget  staff at UHaul were all very helpful and accommodating. Everything worked out well and I was only 11 minutes late on my return time.

The person at the counter did not seem to know the difference between a truck and a hand truck, ignored repeated descriptions and instructions, was annoyed that I did not have an online reservation (it was not possible to make one online for a hand truck), and was not clear about pick up/return instructions.

I rent uhaul trucks regularly and had the worst experience ever. While waiting 30 minutes to get to the counter, I was told that my credit card was declined twice and actually my credit card was charged twice and 2 refuns made. I used a different card and was helped by a different associate after being untmost disrespected and being held up for 1 hour to rent a truck from a person who was only trying not to rent me a truck and tie up my funds. I was not clear on the fuel credit and what I was being charged. I don't understand how someone who presents themselves as a general manager can lie and be so rude.

The transaction was fast and all the details were emailed and made available on your online U-Haul account. While the plastic boxes are very useful and sturdy (no need for tape or reinforcement to carry heavy load), previous users left their labels on it and also a bit of dirt/dust inside the box. Overall, experience is still great as renting plastic boxes is way better than buying carton boxes. One of the few things they could tweak is to allow users to return the boxes in other stores more convenient/closer to the users' destination.

Forcing us to do everything on the app-with a reservation already placed-was frustrating. Not a good experience. Three of us, with reservations, stood in your store battling the app. It needs some user experience testing. You should watch your customers in a store. Also, second time in a row I was stuck with a van with no side door handle.

You self booking app is too complicated you need to work on it to make it user friendly - it is not clear that there is an office near the garage - the staff in the office was very help full....keep the staff and drop the App....

The website to pick up was not working and apparently the staff could not do the pick up manually, so I had to stay about 20 extra minutes waiting for the website to start working again. The employees who helped me with that, as well as the one who helped during the return, were great though.

The online reservation and truck pickup process is unnecessarily confusing and difficult. The app and website are not intuitive and don't work great. This made the pickup way too long and I was late to meet the moving company at my house. It needs to be improved. To be clear, this was not the fault of the location, but instead was the fault of the app and online process. The people at the location did their best to be helpful.

The pick-up process was horrible. The app is overly complicated; uploading and verifying my license should have been done as part of the reservation, not pick up. The truck was filthy and the tank was less than half full. Dust, grime, and residue from other people's spills--disgusting! I took pictures I will send. The staff was ridiculous! Inside there was one worker overwhelmed by the line of people for pickup; outside were 3 staff laughing and joking, or working, not cleaning anything, they were outright hostile when I asked them to please give me they key and please show me my truck. One even used profanity because my truck was blocked in by another. They were the most rude workers I've encountered. I have used this facility since 2005 and will not do so again. Corporate has clearly invested in a bad app and not in good staff and not in good managerial oversight. Shame on you.

Just thoroughly check all the rentals going out and being returned. The personnel do not really ask if there were issues, and I don't think they would care if something was reported. I think some other system needs to be in place to help avoid problem vehicles.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with this location - I am honestly sad I don't need to store anything anymore because they were so great to work with. Every single member of the team was helpful, friendly and proactive in making sure I was taken care of. This "above-and-beyond" level of service was especially appreciated as I am currently living halfway across the country. I would recommend this location to anyone in the DMV who needs storage and if I need a storage unit again I will be coming back here. Thank you!!!!

Vagrants in the vicinity and sometimes inside made use of the facility less pleasant. Employees were generally exceptionally friendly and helpful. Overall good experience.

Uhaul has a great, modern customer service business model. Their online platform let's you easily start/stop a storage rental and do a self check out of boxes in the store. Amazing. Saved me a bunch of time. When I needed personal help I I quickly got to speak with a helpful person in the store.

All three of your your workers at 26 K street went above and beyond to accommodate me I was so happy I handicapped and they helped me so much and you have a great team together they work well and they were training a young man step by step from the computer to the floor that young man was professional and very eager to learn the computer and help me! I interacted with you office staff twice; getting the unit and closing the unit rental. The staff that assisted me, two different persons, acted like I was "bothering" them. Is not what they said or what they did, it was their attitude. Their tone of voice was like they were mad, like they hated being there. They are the face of your company, the one I prefer for my moving and storage needs. I don't need pleasantries or even greetings; but, I don't need to feel like I'm a burden to you. I'm the customer! The paying customer. Based on this experience I'll never use U-Haul services in DC.

It is my first time requiring uhaul services, it was late and it almost close for regular busines hours which compel me to get the "24 hours access service" which by the way I just needed for that particular day the 27th of jul. I needed to storage my stuff on the 27th of jul, so between go and get my stuff and come back, the store would be closed, so the least I would have expected as a some sort of compliment for a new customer would have been to wave the after hour charge for a day, no big deal it is just a thinking, and the to be obligated to buy some specific sort of padlock it is kind of absurd but anyways it is what it is other than that I rate your service average. Customer service? Excellent. Policies? Not very good for customers. My opinion.

Had all my stuff moved out of my unit before I was due to be charged for a new month, but office hours were closed so I couldn't formally close out my account until the next day, and I was automatically charged for a full month regardless. I will not be renting a unit from uhaul in the future, nor would I recommend anyone to uhaul due to the uncompromising, all-or-nothing contract and refusal to prorate unused days.

I have a code to get into the storage area after hours, but the code doesn't work after hours. It only works on the office door. That set me back a day.

When we opened the unit, all of our items were covered with a film of white dust. Something must have fallen from Above. It took A lot of work to clean off our stuff. It was concerning as we don't know what it was and whether it causes a health risk. The office staff were unhelpful and just said - we should have gotten insurance. Unacceptable!
