Check in was very easy and glad Marcus didn't cancel because I showed up later than scheduled. The van was clean, but so clean that the back was still a little wet. Also, the left blinker was broken which created a few issues while driving. Otherwise, check/in and return was very easy. Thanks, Bill

The staff you had were friendly and helpful, but as I'm sure you know this location is understaffed. The only serious issue was that there wasn't sufficient space for folks to return their vehicles after hours which led to a dangerous situation with returned rentals illegally parked.

The rear right brake light and turn signal we're not working when I began a 1 000 mile trip, which I didn't realize until someone mentioned it 500 miles in. This should have been detected before I drove off the lot. And one of the tires had very low pressure, which was easy to fix. Otherwise the van was ok.

Man at check-in desk was very helpful as I was struggling with using the 24/7 self-serve check in - he just helped me - quickly, efficiently, and without judgement. I love him! Only hard thing was trying to use the check-in on my phone - but since staff person helped me - no problem.

There was only one person working behind the desk on a Saturday morning. It took 30+ min just to get the keys to the moving truck, and I had already done the online check-in in advance. We had reserved 2 furniture dollies, but were told when we got there that they didn't have any. The moving truck reeked of marijuana. We were given the truck with the gas tank at 5/16ths and told we'd be charged $30 for returning it below 1/4. We only drove 17 miles total, including the gas station we had to go to to fill up the tank. Would not recommend this location or these moving trucks and supplies since they're not reliable or clean.

When we returned the truck there was a massive amount of other trucks already there. We got there just in time to park it properly, but anyone else would have had to leave the truck in the street. That wasn't ideal.

The check-in and check-out processes were really challenging because neither the app nor the webpage could be used (system errors). We had to go to the counter and lost half an hour doing the check-in because the system had a lot of problems.

The passenger footwell had an extremely sticky residue that adversely affected my move. If it was smaller or not so incredibly sticky I would not have taken issue, but I would have expected a spill of that degree to be resolved before the vehicle was turned over to us. Otherwise the experience met my expectations. Clearer guidance on how to return the vehicle after hours (i.e. where to park and drop the key) would have been helpful.

The mobile check in was a waste of time, it makes you go inside anyways- I had to walk back and forth a few times. There was no on in the location so that took time to call the manager to find the person. And the people outside seem to be hanging out, except one gentleman who seems to be doing everything outside. I returned the van on a Saturday evening and handed he key to the attendant and the receipt says that it was returned on a Sunday.

The license plate tags on the trailer were expired but was not noticed until after picking up the trailer. When trying to contact uhaul about what to do. I waited on hold for 20-30 mins and then was not given an answer to solve the issue.

Neither 12 v connections were functioning, inside leaks on both upper corners and leaked onto my boxes and pictures, the driver visor was broken and on floor when I rented as pictured and tire sensor warning popped on for duration of trip. The lack of 12v power to charge my navigation and leaks caused delays in my trip creating even more expense and I passed along my feedback upon return and all I got was a thank you for telling them this. I should have been refunded and compensated not the other way around!

The App was a misleading. When I confirmed my reservation, the App indicated I should have two of a list of ID items ready, including but not limited to a passport, my lease agreement, a contact or employer who could verify. I had my lease and my passport ready and added those to the registration, but was still REQUIRED to give a contact name and number. It should have been more obvious that the contact was required and NOT optional. The way the app currently describes what you need to bring and have with makes having a contact look like an option. I needed to pick up my van at 5:00 in the morning - so I had to scramble to see who might be awake then to act as my contact for verification. I got lucky that a friend was awake then, but I would have come prepared and warned someone in advance if I had known it was REQUIRED to provide a contact.

Not a pleasant experience. First I was sent the wrong vehicle information via txt message. I had to go back to the office for clarification. Then the assigned vehicle had a chattered right mirror. Totally unsafe to drive. Again, back to the office. The representative became very arrogant when I asked for a different vehicle. By then already 20min from my reservation had passed. I asked again for a time extension to my reservation. Denied and the representative walked away. By then I had no other choice but to ask to talk to the manager. He was very understanding and updated the reservation for the lost time. This was a terrible experience. The representative was arrogant and obviously had no customer service experience.

I interacted with you office staff twice; getting the unit and closing the unit rental. The staff that assisted me, two different persons, acted like I was "bothering" them. Is not what they said or what they did, it was their attitude. Their tone of voice was like they were mad, like they hated being there. They are the face of your company, the one I prefer for my moving and storage needs. I don't need pleasantries or even greetings; but, I don't need to feel like I'm a burden to you. I'm the customer! The paying customer. Based on this experience I'll never use U-Haul services in DC.

It is my first time requiring uhaul services, it was late and it almost close for regular busines hours which compel me to get the "24 hours access service" which by the way I just needed for that particular day the 27th of jul. I needed to storage my stuff on the 27th of jul, so between go and get my stuff and come back, the store would be closed, so the least I would have expected as a some sort of compliment for a new customer would have been to wave the after hour charge for a day, no big deal it is just a thinking, and the to be obligated to buy some specific sort of padlock it is kind of absurd but anyways it is what it is other than that I rate your service average. Customer service? Excellent. Policies? Not very good for customers. My opinion.

Had all my stuff moved out of my unit before I was due to be charged for a new month, but office hours were closed so I couldn't formally close out my account until the next day, and I was automatically charged for a full month regardless. I will not be renting a unit from uhaul in the future, nor would I recommend anyone to uhaul due to the uncompromising, all-or-nothing contract and refusal to prorate unused days.

When we opened the unit, all of our items were covered with a film of white dust. Something must have fallen from Above. It took A lot of work to clean off our stuff. It was concerning as we don't know what it was and whether it causes a health risk. The office staff were unhelpful and just said - we should have gotten insurance. Unacceptable!

The loading dock was blocked by construction equipment even though I was told it would be available. It was very difficult to use the storage units without the loading dock.

The staff was very professional, and the manager even went above and beyond to allow me to get in to a unit when I was trying to finish packing and get on the road. Very happy and satisfied.

I called the location to confirm the reservation, and was told by the guy on the phone that reservations are on a first-come basis only...when I already had a reservation. Cancelled immediately.

The capitol hill is the best run uhaul facility in the washington/Maryland area. The staff is competent, helpful and attentive to customers' needs. Your manager Chris is by far the best I encountered

Wonderful office and staff that have always been there for numerous moves as I've moved kids to DC. Rentals trucks are great and the storage is also great. Nice helpful staff.
