This experience was honestly horrific. Words can't express the level of pure idiocracy involved. The men unhinged my trailer WHILE IT WAS STILL HOLDING MY VEHICLE AND I WAS INSIDE. I need an explanation or a refund. This was a terrible experience for me.

The capital hill drop off experience was a disaster. The men proceeded to unhinge the tow trailer WHILE MY CAR WAS ON IT AND I WAS INSIDE OF IT. Honestly this was an outrage and as I was gliding backwards with no control, I thought it was the end. I will be contacting corporate if they don't contact me. Train your people before entrusting them to do their job. This was unacceptable.

I did mobile pick-up but when it came time to get my key, the wrong lock was on the lock box so the code didn't work. Fortunately it was during business hours so an employee was able to help me when he figured out the locks got swapped.

Process unclear, e-pickup is a joke (in the end, after a 20 minutes process of authentication (20!!) you have to get your key in the shop), e-return (which I had to do because I arrived 15 minutes only (?!?) before closing) is a nightmare.

Double check to make sure all equipment ordered is either already in the vehicle or physically provided at time of check in. The 2 wheeler or hand truck was not provided and we forgot to ask about it before we departed. Unfortunately we assumed it was in the vehicle and did not double check. Other then that, the owner and staff were very friendly, helpful and thorough! The self checkout process worked out very smoothly. I will use Uhaul again for sure.

This doesn't have to do with the location but the return process. It didn't allow me to state any issues that occurred with lights on in the van. While driving the tire pressure light came on. Since I was driving less than 30 minutes and the recent temperature fluctuations I thought nothing of it. Wish it was a way I could notate it while returning equipment. Let the representative working know and he said he will take care of it. Very helpful there!

I made a reservation weeks before my move in, reserving a 10' truck, only to get there the day of and have them tell me there were no 10' trucks available. They told me I had to go to another location if I wanted a 10' truck. I stood there for half an hour before being given another option, which was a cargo van. That was way too small for what I needed. They then tell me they can give me a 15' truck which I don't feel comfortable driving and it was also way too big for what I needed so my things would move and get damaged. The personnel were not helpful when I told them I had made the reservation weeks in advance.

The lot is two buildings away from the brick and mortar with no signage. 24/7 rental tells you to drop keys in a box but there is no box anywhere near the lot and you have to find the building. We hunted around for 20 minutes.

The UHaul app did not specify the correct location of the key. The app advised to speak with a representative at the counter, who did not have the key. The staff member then had to search for it before ultimately finding it in a lock box after some delay. The truck was not ready with the supplies that we had ordered (dolly and furniture pads). We were initially offered furniture pads that had been left out overnight and were wet before we asked for dry ones.

I can't thank you enough for your expert recommendations - from the right moving truck size for the sleep sofa and all items I had, the number and type of boxes I needed, to coaching me on how to exactly use the 10' moving truck. It was so easy to drive. Excellent, helpful mirrors on each side. This all happened in DC at your K street NE location(818029).

I'll never use the self checkout/in again. On check-in, even though I have used the app before to rent a vehicle from the same location, I was required to re-upload my ID and wait for my account to be verified. It was annoying to have to do this while I was in the parking lot trying to get into the vehicle. The app didn't work, so after 5-10mins of trying to get it to work, I needed to ask one of the staff members to check the vehicle back in. Overall, using the app was extremely frustrating and seems like it is in need of serious improvements. I will say that the staff were extremely helpful.

Cell service is terrible in this part of DC, so I had to go into the store to use their WiFi. Is there any way to safely and securely extend the WiFi into the parking lot for the trucks? I had to keep going in and out of the store to do anything on my phone to access the online check-out system for the truck.

I mentioned I am not sure how long it may take, a hour longer or shorter than scheduled end time. They said to not worry and just bring back when I am finished. Ended up charging me 240 $instead of the original amount of about 176 $. Frustrating to have to return to dispute a charge. Hire people that want to work maybe?

This is not necessarily a note for the location, but the mobile check in needs an overhaul. Extremely confusing, and the fact that it forces you to verify with someone outside of yourself while actively trying to check in makes absolutely no sense. We spent 40 min trying to check in and find our vehicle, only to have to receive help from the staff. Then, the truck we were assigned had a broken mirror, prohibiting us from being able to properly drive it.

The rental experience was good and we were able to get our work done. What marred the experience was the customer service (wrong term for this person) rep who completed our order. Her attitude and disdain for the customer came through very loud and clear. She wore that attitude as a badge of contempt for the customer for no reason at all. She was arrogant, aggressive to the point where I had to make a remark to her about it. This individual has insecurity issues and compensates through aggression. She has no place working in a customer service position and U-Haul is not well served to have such people in such positions without proper remedial training.

Was told to just drop the truck key in a return box without any confirmation or receipt of delivery. The mobile app to verify delivery did not work on my phone but the staff was not responsive when I asked to be sure that the return of my truck would be recorded. Why isn't there a way to return the keys to a person instead of having to use an app?

It was a bit unclear how to find the person to help me in the parking lot. Apart from that it was a good experience. The trucks themselves felt a bit old and badly maintained in terms of engine and performance etc but I guess it's not meant to be a BMW!

I walked into the store to inquire about renting a cargo van or pickup and was told there were none available. Only to go outside and see several parked on the lot. So before checking another location, I decided to see if I could reserve one online for this same location and was able to do so quickly. Then while trying to complete the self pickup process online for the cargo van, the response time was longer than I would have liked. Then finally I was asked for contacts for verification. I gave 2 contacts and one wasn't contacted and the other received a phone call but when they answered no one responded. To then be told online verification couldn't be completed so to go into the same store where they just told me they didn't even have any vans to complete the rental. That was a frustrating experience.

Initial pick up experience was far superior to drop off. Woman at desk was more concerned with her phone then providing any help to customers. The guy at check in was pleasant and seemed to care about his job.

The U-Haul location that I picked my truck up from stated that they offered 24/7 pickup. However, when I arrived for my reservation, the app stated that I would have to wait until the retail store would open to pick up my truck. Annoyed, I waited, and upon time to pick up my truck, I approached the employees in the pickup lot to get my keys. Not only did they tell me to bugger off into the retail store, but they were extremely rude about it. Upon talking to the employees inside the store, I was told to meet with the employees outside to get my keys (this was after waiting in a line for about 20 minutes behind 13ish other people who were in the same boat as me). Once I finally got the keys, I noticed that the truck was not fully fueled, and was told that I would have to return the truck full (not a chance I will be doing so given that the whole ordeal made my pickup two hours late. I will have my credit card company charge back if U-Haul decides to charge me for it.) Overall, I had an extremely negative experience, partly because my reservation was not handled for 24/7 pickup as requested, and partly because the employees at this location were extremely rude. I'm sorry, but it's literally your job to check our trucks to customers -- there's no need to get offensive for mistakes that are clearly that of your fellow team members/service location. 4/10 I would not recommend this U-Haul location.

It is my first time requiring uhaul services, it was late and it almost close for regular busines hours which compel me to get the "24 hours access service" which by the way I just needed for that particular day the 27th of jul. I needed to storage my stuff on the 27th of jul, so between go and get my stuff and come back, the store would be closed, so the least I would have expected as a some sort of compliment for a new customer would have been to wave the after hour charge for a day, no big deal it is just a thinking, and the to be obligated to buy some specific sort of padlock it is kind of absurd but anyways it is what it is other than that I rate your service average. Customer service? Excellent. Policies? Not very good for customers. My opinion.
