The online rental process is the worst I have ever experienced. We picked a location to insure we did not use a lot of miles. Uhaul switched the location and we used triple our miles that we would have and had to pay for those miles. It is a rip offDave L.

I used multiple services and nothing went the way it should, I know you’ll probably dismiss this but when I went to do a mobile pick up of a truck that I needed at 7am, I wasn’t able to get the truck Even though I came to the location two days before to make sure all was well, had to wait until 9 , no sympathy from the worker, storage unit was wrong size and unavailable, another delay, finally got a unit at a different location, a 4 hour move took 7 hours, I will avoid uhaul at all costs if I can in the future.Emily J. | Online Move In

While this location was very helpful and I would probably use it again if needed, my whole experience with this Uhaul rental was the most discouraging and troubling one I have ever experienced. From shifting locations for pickup without prenotification, to failure to confirm location and when I did confirm being provided wrong information.James A.

The box was ne ver delivered on the agreed on date, I had to reapply for another box to be dellivered the next dayo. The Moving help call me on the day they were to be at my house to help load, they texted me the night before saying they will not be showing up. I got lucky whenever I went into your location, they told me it was a system issue (everytime I walk into this location they have the same issues). After being told of the system issues your rep told me he would let me know when y'all were up and running again I can go in my car. After waiting 15 mins I started noticing people were coming in your location. Finally when I do go back in I have to wait another 30 mins in the line that has now formed.NAFIS C.

On April 3, 2021, I reserved a Uhaul truck for my pending move. During that call, I was told by the Uhaul representative that I was eligible for one-month free on a storage unit. I have also been told this in the past when I rented trucks from Uhaul. Prior to my move on April 26th, I went into the Uhaul store to reserve the storage unit. In addition to what I had previously been told my the Uhaul representative, there were two signs hanging in the store at 520 S. 29th Street, Harrisburg, PA, indicating that customers would get one-month free storage unit with a truck rental (which I previously reserved). I was told by the store representative that he could not honor the free storage unit that I was both told I was eligible for and observed in their own store (which I pointed out to him in the front of the store and took a photo). The representative then called his store manager whom he claimed would pull the call record and listen to see â€œIFâ€ the representative told me I was eligible for a free storage unit, as if one would lie or make this up. He further claimed he was sending an email to his manager and would let me know the outcome. Long story short, as I expected, I never heard back from this representative and they did not honor their own store advertising, nor what the previous representative told me by phone. The young man I spoke to was quite rude and defensive and told me he was â€œjust doing his job,â€ as though I was being difficult by informing him of what I was told by a fellow UHaul employee. To add insult to injury, when I brought the rental truck back I was overcharged 180,15 $, and now have to file a dispute with my bank to retrieve my own money. I was supposed to be charged 61,35 $, however was charged for a â€œlostâ€ dolley that was in plain sight in the back of the Uhaul truck. Needless to say, I am very annoyed and disappointed in the service I received having reserved from Uhaul (at other locations and states) multiple times in the past without incident. The only positive that I can say with regard to this experience is that the representative whom I retrieved the truck from on 4.26.21 at 9am, was very polite and professional with me (and other customers from what I observed). They may want to use him to train the other representative with the blonde hair and glasses. With regard to what can be improved, I would suggest not falsely advertising a discount (free month of storage) that you do not intend to honor. It is misleading and not good business.yancy N.

The 10x10x6 unit I reserved on-line with my truck was not available when I showed up in PA on 12/2 (order #20731372). An employee (Steve) put me in a 5x10x6 and 5x10x8 as an alternative, and told me he would merge the units so I would pay the same monthly bill I was anticipating. Steve said he would call me to come in on a later day to sign the receipt/contract once they were able to merge the units. I went back in-person on 12/'7 since I had not received a call. I was told by another employee (Shawna) while she was on the phone with corporate storage, she could not merge the units since they were different sizes (one is two feet taller than the other). She said I would have to move my belongings out of one of my units into another, so both the units are the exact same size to receive the merged rate. I am expected (again) to spend my time and energy to make-up for false promises and booking errors made by U-Haul. U-Haul made the mistake allowing me to reserve a non existent unit. I took the two 5x10s because I was told the rates would be merged into the monthly rate I had expected. The employees now tell me I have to spend another day moving my stuff around because of errors on the company's behalf. This is all highly unacceptable, and I am very disappointed with the customer service and my entire moving experience. What is the point of making a reservation if the unit is not held and available? Why would an employee tell me they will honor the 10x10 rate if I moved into two 5x10's? The first employee that helped me yesterday was also very unsympathetic and had zero empathy. Shane, the general manager, stepped in and did what he could to help, but it is a shame that corporate ties the employees' and managers' hands in a "make-good" scenario. Because of the "same size units to merge" restriction, U-Haul has denied me the most basic of customer expectations and given me a horrific experience. I am definitely not satisfied, and am expected (again) to pay more or inconvenience myself because of errors made by your company. My moving from Louisiana to PA started with me having to drive 29 extra miles to pick up my equipment. My pick-up reservation was made for a location 2 miles from my home in LA. U-Haul managed to screw up both my reservations on this contract, and I am expected to spend my time and money to cover your mistakes. Since I will have to spend time moving my belongings, I plan on moving them out of your facility entirely before the free month I received with truck rental is over. You've lost a long-term customer with excellent credit (>800) who always pays their bills. If I ever have to rent equipment again, you can also bet I will be seeking out alternatives. You are a terrible company who takes no responsibility for your own errors, and shifts the burdens onto your clients. Shame on you, U-Haul.WILLIAM P B. | Premières impressions

Staff did not wear masks, despite PA State Government orders for everyone in a public setting to do so. Signage was up, to provide awareness of this fact. It is likely that many employee's carried the Covid-19 virus home to family. As a person wearing a mask is protecting others, I don't appreciate this company, or company-location policy. The fact that I asked multiple times if I had 24 hour coverage and the girl reassured me I did then when I came after hours I got locked outside with my keys and phones inside and couldn't get back in until 5am the next morning when I called customer service they said I did not have 24 hour access on my account and when I tried to call the GM her phone ran I left a voice mail then called again a couple times because my storage unit was wide open and my cell phone and keys were inside thank god a friend came with me who had their phone I kept calling and instead of answering she turned her phone off so I have to sit outside the storage place from 1015p until 5am until I could get in to get my things to leave.
