I did mobile check in but had to wait in line for keys and to ask for the dolly I had ordered. I would have expected the dolly to already be in the truck. Also, about half the damage on the truck was not already marked. Otherwise, I liked the mobile phone experience fairly well.David L.

The whole experience was a fiasco! First Uhaul- in Sterling did not exist! Called Uhaul and was sent to second Sterling location- they were having parking lot work done. No parking available. Suggestion was park in one of the near by businesses and 'hope' you don't get towed, while walking back 2-3 blocks on 4 lane road with no sidewalks. Third location was Chantilly location. They did an amazing job with a short term notification.Theresa H.

Location loaded two trailers against me and when I turned in my trailer, uhaul continued to bother me about turning the trailer back in. After 5 days, they final fixed the problem and the ghost trailer disappeared and I was given credit for an on-time turn in.Robert K.

I made a reservation for 2 trucks. One of my reservations was cancelled the day before I was scheduled to pick up and nobody told me. I rent trucks to transport the Westfield High School Marching band equipment to and from competitions, so it's really a big deal for many people. If I hadn't been able to find another truck at another location we would not have been able to get the band to their competition. The truck I did get from this location had transmission issues and I'm surprised it made it to Purcellville and back. Overall I was really disappointed, mostly with the surprise cancellation. I would have preferred a phone call and maybe some other options. Not finding out when I'm trying to pick up my trucks at 7am.Alexandra V.

Make your reservations ACTUAL RESERVATIONS. I was told when I was 20 minutes away from the pickup location that the truck that was confirmed for me the day before actually wasn't available, so I was left scrambling to make alternate plans since we had friends who cleared their days to help us move. Why on earth isn't a reservation guaranteed when it's made?! Either the truck is available or it isn't. It's not hard. I'll be using Penske or another rental service moving forward.Megan C.

Staff are top notch. This was the first time I received a subpar trailer. This does not knock the staff as it was the only one they had but the tires are worn and the strap to open the trailer is gone. That being said, I will continue to rent at the Westfax location.MIKE H.
The interior of the vehicle was dirty. The drivers-side windshield had Fingerprints and a coffee or soda splatter right at eye-level, and the seats were dirty. During the mobile return process, I selected the option that said â€œvehicle is not clean enough for next userâ€ but would have been charged the $25 cleaning fee. As a result, I had to re-start my checkout process over to avoid the charge! Extremely time consuming. Overall, I'm satisfied that it got the job done.KIRIS P.

1. Parking - there is no parking for customer vehicles when picking up and using a U-Haul. We are forced into being dropped off/picked up or using an Uber. Ridiculous. This is why I also try other locations first. They have a huge empty lot behind their facility. 2. If I wanted the blankets I would have requested them. Don't put a sealed bag in the way in the back of the truck. "If seal is broken we will charge you" - no get them out of the truck then. 3. Mobile app is nice but you still end up going inside to get a key and it says don't wait in line but there is one person working with a customer kind of hard to cut the line. Would be nice if there was a lane marked "Mobile Key Pickup" Return was so easy and quick which is appreciated.James B.

The 6 pads I ordered were unavailable. Was not informed until I arrived at the location they were out of pads. Service representative was not friendly. He was rude to the customer ahead of me and terse when dealing with me. It was obvious he does not like his job whatsoever. When making the reservation I was encouraged to use self check-in with the UHaul app and told this would be much faster than waiting in line. However, while doing that I ran into a problem where it asked me for someone to verify my identity and there was no way to proceed. I went into the store and in about 3 minutes I was ready to go and the truck was waiting for me outside. I don't recommend using the app and tapping lots of times when a human being is available to help.Richard C.

Uhaul should of told us up front about when you close your unit you don't prorate the rent. We lost 3 weeks of payment. The lines at the counter was always long because there was only 1 person working the register and phone at the same time. I moved out of units 2130 and 2149 on May 12. When the movers were packing me out I went to the office to inform the staff member of my move out. I was told to return later that day when the movers were done and someone would do a walk thru with me. I returned a few hours later and was greeted by a different staff member who did not do a walk thru and told me they would take care of closing out my contracts. Turns out 2130 was closed. 2149 remained open despite the fact I checked the following the day and was told both units were closed. I was charged $143 on May 13 and charged $143 on June 12th. I've been trying over a week now to get refunds and spoke to the General Manager, Richard who said he'd take care of it. He closed 2149 on or around June 14 but only processed a refund for the June charge. The May charge has still not been refunded. I'm very dissatisfied with this situation. Why the first person I spoke to (when I wanted to check out) told me a walk thru was necessary but the second person who was supposed to but did not tells me the staff at the Chantilly location do not follow their own procedures and the result is the situation I'm in. We rented a "drive-up" unit because we have some large and heavy items to store and wanted to drop them out of the truck and directly into the storage unit. We arrived late in the evening only to find that your version of "drive-up is a loading dock. The unit you gave us was at the furthest point away from the loading dock which made it extremely difficult and time consuming to move our items from the truck to the unit. We also found out that the large sliding doors at the dock are locked at 7:00 P.M. which will make moving items after 7:00 P.M. very difficult. Luckily we ran into "Ryan" who stayed after his shift to allow us access to the sliding doors. Major kudo's to Ryan, he was very courteous and understands customer service.
