The steering had way to much play on the steering wheel. The gear shift lever was really loose. I had gotten the insurance and when I brought the truck back they said I put a scratch on the top of the box which I didn't. I had the insurance so they said there was no charge but I want to emphasize any scratch was not mine. When I accepted the truck they gave me the keys and said it was the second in the line but the key wouldn't work but it worked in the first truck. I don't think his pictures were for the truck I took.

I had booked the truck rental a month in advance only to get a call a day before stating that instead of my pickup time being 9:30 am that it was being moved to 1:30pm. This cost me money as I had people lined up to do the move and there was a 4 hour time period where I was on the hook to pay them. I was not happy at all about this...if a person wants a truck at a certain time then commit to it.

Equipment was clean, however I think it was in need of mechanical maintenance. Oil light comes on when you slow down, tires were lumpy on the inside.

Our reservation was originally for 24 hours; however, I called before picking up the rental that we would not require it that long and the Customer Service Agent was appreciative of that due to the high demand. He had advised me that if we dropped it off after closing we could do a self check-in and said he would explain that to us when we arrived to pick up the vehicle. When we arrived we had a different CSA assist us and he was not nearly as friendly or helpful. He told us our rental was DUE BACK AT 7PM as it was being rented again the following morning. I advised him that our rental was actually until 2:00pm the following day but I had called to advise we would have it back sooner and he completely dismissed it and demanded / was adamant we have it back by 7:00pm because that was our return time. I did not appreciate the way the service was handled by him.

Ensure customers know in advance of pick up that personal vehicles cannot be left on site when picking up a rental. I spoke to staff on 3 separate occasions prior to pick up and was not informed. This warrants an extra call or email to make sure customers know.

The after hours pick up process was poorly communicated. I was told my ID is enough on the phone, but it wasn't when I got there which wasted a lot of my time. I understand why the rule is necessary but it should be well communicated with customers as well as representatives that assist us. Thanks,

When I called to keep the truck later than we'd originally booked for, the customer service was OUTSTANDING. She was helpful and made it seem uncomplicated even though we knew it wasn't so simple. However -- when we got to the store for the pickup of the vehicle, the customer service was really terrible. It was getting very busy and the store was getting inundated with customers. While we were being served, the customer service representative was talking to different customers and other staff members while helping us and we couldn't seem to get her full attention. We (at many times) asked "is she talking to us?" - it was really really steady and she was clearly trying to get through the rush, but we left feeling just that -- RUSHED.

Worker that we spoke to gave us all the wrong information, was incredibly rude and abrupt and was unhelpful. She indicated that I didn't need to fill out anything before we left, just that we had to take four pictures. Luckily I got a text indicating a form to fill out. I even asked about the form as I had rented recently. She said there wasn't anything needed. She told us to drive up on the left hand side to drop it off, when the drop off spot was at another area. She spoke poorly of her coworkers to us the customers and grumbled at a coworker right in front of us saying that "no one could do their job right" while meanwhile giving us wrong information. Honestly thoroughly unimpressed with our experience. Employee definitely needs some retraining.

Found out last minute and through U-Haul's head office this location had changed my truck reservation to the largest truck on the lot. I was told it because they didn't have any trucks in the size I requested. When I went in two days later to pick up, I saw several trucks in the size I requested in the parking lot. When I asked the clerk if these trucks were for rent, I was told they were; but because, they claim, the head office changed it, they couldn't rent it to me. While I was charged the same as the smaller truck for the larger truck, because of it's size, I ended up paying that same amount in gas and really broke the budget driving it. Found the manager to be rude as well. That seems to be a consistent observation of this location. She claims I would've told over the phone that reservations are not guaranteed, without even asking or finding out that made the reservation online, not over the phone. If I had been told that they don't have my reservation and they really didn't, I wouldn't be as bothered by this. But they had up to THREE of the trucks I needed that were available. These people only get business because they're literally the only company in town.

The customer service was great. The trucks brakes were horrible. There is a very obvious warp in the front rotors that causes the truck to shake like it's having an epileptic seizure when you apply the brakes. Not very ideal while you are transporting your personal valuables.

Took the pressure off when I learned they have a cart you can roll in and out of the indoor units .. amazing! Thank you god I didnt have to carry all my belongings in there .. Thank you Uhaul !

The gas was half full and too big. They gave us a dirty truck that was too big for what we needed. Thus having to spend more money on gas and not being allowed on the toll bridge and adding on more travel time to an already busy enough day. Very frustrated with this service, they could have been more accommodating and educated on the repercussions of travelling to a city with toll bridges.

Was in unit 1644 for 3 months, mattress against the back wall of unit had mold in one corner. There was a cotton mattress protector on it, and the mattress itself was fine. But water/dampness came from somewhere. The access hours were fine, but I wish we could have moved out of the unit at 10pm the night before. It was open early enough when we did move. Merci!

To not have parking for my vehicle while I used the van for two hours was disappointing and an inconvenience. It would be nice if for hourly rentals you could leave your personal vehicle there. There were about twenty empty parking spaces but I was told I could not leave my vehicle there. I was gone for under two hours. Will not use this service again due to the inconvenience. Staff was great however and the equipment was as it should be.

I've been dealing with uhaul for almost four years. St.John's NL and Dartmouth Nova Scotia where by far excellent people to deal with good service. Charlottetown PE by far was the worst for storage. Lost all my furniture because of poor construction on the rear of the building it flooded . I can honestly say that I will never use uhaul again for storage. Also wherever I go I will tell people about my experience especially people that I consider to be my friends. I received no compensation at all. One young guy on the service desk was very ignorant but he was very smart no people skills Looing into a lawyer now and especially the media.

Twice in this location, some strange situations passed me. When I returned the trailer back, the same Indian (I don't really know his nationality, but he looks like an Indian ) guy served me, unfortunately, I forgot his name. The first time I ordered a trailer from 7 am to 5 pm (the order was made online), I picked up the trailer at 7,4 am and returned to the station U-Haul at 5,4 pm, that is, the real deviation from the planned time was + 40 min. Came back to the U-haul station, and this guy told me that I was 40 minutes late and now I have to pay for a new rate, not 29,95 + taxes, but already 59,9+ taxes. Of course, this caused me dissatisfaction, and he steadily explained to me that for the system I have been using the trailer for the 2nd day already, we argued with him for quite some time that the time indicated by me is an approximate time, and even if I was delayed by 40 minutes, then this is not like not the second day. But he steadily convinced me that there was nothing he could do and I needed to pay for two days of using the trailer. Only when I suggested that he go through and discuss it with the manager did he decide how to uncheck the system, so that I would pay for one day. Yesterday another situation happened, when I took a trailer, a nice girl asked me, when returning the trailer, to park it in the place from which I took it. I did this when returning the trailer, parked it in the same place, and proceeded to the office to close the order, there I was met by the same Indian guy, who said that I should not park the trailer where I parked it and that I should overtake trailer to the place that he indicates. I followed him, he pointed me to a place where it was physically impossible to maneuver the trailer to park it. I tried to park it, but due to the limited space, I only drove the trailer into half of the parking space. But the most interesting thing is that at the moment when I was parking the trailer, another Indian guy approached this guy and, speaking Indian, not English, tried to explain to the first one that it was a bad idea to park the trailer here, but it should have been parked where I parked from the very beginning (of course, I don't know a word in Indian, and I can only guess what they were talking about, but from their facial expressions and gestures it seemed to me that they were talking about what I described above). After I parked the trailer in half of the parking space, the second guy left, and the first one asked me to push the trailer by hand and put pegs under the wheels. In this situation, I was not satisfied with the fact that, instead of an accessible parking space where the trailers were located, I was redirected to an inaccessible and physically limited place, and then they were also asked to push the trailer manually. I am also unhappy that employees in U-Haul uniforms used Indian (or another) language in my presence during business hours to discuss where I should park the trailer. I am absolutely not against any language after hours, but during work, in the presence of a client, discuss my parking in other than English, I think not correctly. I hope, you are able to check the U-haul system and see who exactly closed my order two last time it definitely should be the same guy. Thank you for the chance to leave feedback. Have a good day.

The first truck I rented was great! The second truck was substantially cleaner when I returned it than when I picked it up! I pointed out several things not working correctly and/or broken on the truck when it was returned. Also mentioned both doors being fill of garbage, even a used mask, and there were large chunks of glass behind and under the drivers side seat. Not impressed and the staff seemed very nonchalant about it. I hope they didn't send that truck back out before repairs. I won't ever use this company again.

Called uhaul customer support because I was running late, the wait was long so I scheduled a call back. Upon callback I was still on hold for 30 minutes before someone answered. They told me it was 2x the rate of the actual rental to return it 2 hours later. I will be looking for alternatives for my next move. Location here is great though with good people. Phone customer service is horrible

All vehicles should be full of fuel and not be request customers to determine 3/8 of a tank to fill upon return. This is very subjective and you are charging clients more as a result of this procedure. Vehicles which are full are then returned full

I reached a uhaul for two weeks andnever got to use it because they gave me the wrong one and I had to return it. They took off 4 days and gave me 1 month storage. It costed me almost 500 so I'm out that money for their mistake.

Toye only issue was sometimes needing to request the movement of equipment to access my unit (making it inconvenient to access after hours). Staff were always helpful tho. It was an enjoyable experience because of that

- Short dark-haired lady at the U-Haul site was a little testy during our initial contact a week ago as she was attempting to wait on four clients at the same time (and phone was ringing). However, the two young fellas I delt with when I put my stuff in the storage unit were very helpful and courteous. Will probably be storing stuff for two months. So far, so good !

The staff at 18 capital drive, Charlottetown, PE was very helpful and took care of me after a complete failure of booking online and ALSO calling a few hours before arrival to confirm my reservation. The employee I spoke with on the phone (some where in the USA) said everything was good for my reservation, however once I arrived I actually had no unit that I reserved. Not sure how that blunder happened but it was a huge mistake on uhauls part. Fortunately the staff took care of me.

I booked a 5x10 room online that was advertised for a 1- 2 bedroom house up to 1200. My house is 2 bdrm and 950sq ft and there was no chance it would fit. I ended up upgrading last minute to a 10x10 after staff agreed the 5x10 wouldn't suit and denied that this room is advertised to hold that amount even after I was able to show them the online posting. The paper pamphlet I was given at check in stated at 10x10 room was $134, but I later found myself charged for $169. Worst of all, it still didn't fit the things from my house. I've had to store things at 2 other friends and family locations. I felt like uhaul bait and switched me at least twice. When I checked online for access hours I found access hours to be 5am to 10pm. While I was moving things into my unit I was told they close at 8 and I had to leave. When I asked about the 10pm close I was told that only applies to outdoor units and my indoor unit closes at 8. Why was I given an access code for the building if it closes and I'm not allowed in again? This issue caused me to take a 1/2 full cargo truck back to my house 30 km away, and make a second trip in the following day.. doubling my milage and my expense. Essentially every important advertised feature of the unit was unclear or downright misleading. After spending $600 on boxes, a truck and a room I'm thoroughly disappointed and will be leaving a particularly harsh review on Google as soon as I'm able to get the chance to do so. My issue is not with your hours, policy, or prices.. my issue is that none of these things were clear when booking and in a crunch at moving time I had NO choice but to use your services and pay whatever you asked, and that felt awful. I would not recommend uhaul to anyone and will be doing research into other options for my next move.

The staff were very HELPFUL when a few glitches came up.. Kyle was pleasant & very helpful on the phone trying to figure out what had gone wrong.. Brandi was patient as well when I came to the office... While waiting the day checking in I had observed a few of the customer interactions & YOUR STAFF was very professional...

My first time using UHaul storage. My only negative comment is about the carts. They were well worn and pretty grungy. The storage unit was clean and easily accessible.

Everything was fine for the first 5 years but since the Covid19 crisis I lost my job and fell behind in my payments and that's when all my good thoughts about U-Haul went out the window. My storage unit contents were taken and sold along with personal stuff that can't be replaced. The staff at the Charlottetown facility we're helping me but the aholes Kyle Rutherford out of the Denver office had no sympathy to my plight. I hope many unfortunate things fall upon him and see how he likes it when he's treated like a piece of garbage!!!!! Kevin Skrenka

Arrived half hour after closing and two large trucks parked blocking easy access to rental unit which was directly behind the drop off area so in order to unload into storage unit had to block off all entrances to a full row of units.

I found the staff were very helpful in determining an ideal size of storage locker for my needs last July. The locker I choses was clean and secure. I appreciated their experience in directing my choices for packing materials and boxes. The moving van was in perfect running order and the inside of the cab and the box had been properly cleaned and sanitized.

Everything was as per usual for a storage facility except for two very irritating aspects: 1. The cheaply made and poorly designed locks froze solid with ice every time it slipped below freezing and there was a precipitation, necessitating a trip to the office to get a propane torch to blast the lock with. . 2. The poorly designed lot was so crammed full of Uhaul vehicles and trailers that most times you tried to access your locker unit, something was blocking your way and you either had to ask them to move it or you had to park away from it and squeeze by the vehicles. I needed weekly access to my locker and due to these two factors, I left. .

I have been to the site multiply times and every single time I have been there a truck has been parked in front of the door. I found that the pricing was high to have the inconvenience of having trucks blocking your door especially since I am paying for a drive up storage site.

The app is very frustrating and Not user friendly. The camera did not work on more than one occasion. It kept asking for an alternative phone Phone number I put three different ones in but it kept asking. There are questions that I can't answer . I did not enter the building so how can I comment. Maybe consider a N/A button
