My experience is that it is kind of hit or miss with Uhaul locations. The corporate locations tend to be a little better than the franchise locations but this Conroe location really sets the bar pretty high. I called from a hardware store asking for availability of a trailer so I could purchase a large zero-turn mower. Location confirmed they had it - and they even had it ready for me when I showed up only 20 minutes later. Everyone was very professional. The young man that helped me out was a sharp kid and the gentleman that helped me connect the trailer was hustling his butt off in the heat. Picked up my trailer right away, was able to get back to the store on time to get my mower and everything was seamless. Great job, Conroe Uhaul!Joseph C.

As always, you pick up a truck with less that a quarter of a tank of gas, you bring it back with over a tank of gas then they tell you that they will be charging you an absurd amount of money because they claim that the truck had more gas in it than it did when you picked it up. Half my equipment was missing on arrival. When I rent moving pads there should be pads available. I shouldn't be sent 15+ min away to get pads from another site. It wasn't a last min addon. It was booked a couple weeks in advance. If there wasn't enough on site then contact other location and get them onsite instead of contacting them when customer asks for them and then sending customers to go get it themselves.James W.

Need more employees on Sunday, took over an hour to rent a van. The girl working was talking, and taking entirely too long with one customer using an out of state license. Also, I was given a van out of gas, and a battery cables loose, had to rush to gas station and call road side service to come help start it. Had to put more gas in it then used. They gave me a gas credit, but I ended up using 9 miles and 23 in gas. Claimed I got a gas credit, but I still paid for van. ?. Rent these vans often. This was a bad experienceâ€¦ROMA A.
I did a one way haul and was given a drop off location. However it was a long way from my end destination so I drop it off at a different location. I than received an additional charge of 8:00 because I dropped it off at a different location. I don't think this is right which is why you only got an average rating. Make sure your employees are actually informed so they give the correct information to customers. My fiancÃ© attempted to rent a trailer and was stopped from doing so due to an eAlert. The in-store associate said that even if I rented the trailer I would be unable to being that I was used as a secondary contact for her rental. He was wrong. I rented a trailer through the U-Haul app and was able to do so. Also, my fiancÃ© was given a number to call regarding her eAlert, and it put her on hold where nobody picked up to get it resolved.Mark C.

Gas was at 3/4 but you gave a contract that showed 1/2 full. The employee shoukd make sure they actually fill before sending off but in your defense i shoukd gave said it before i left but was limited in time. So i generously left it with more then was given which cost me. Money. Next i wasted 8 hours having to use roadside assistance because the sliding door wasnt properly maintained but you gave me the extra 4 hours for free so i was going to ignore the inconvenience. I get my bill and ut shows 2 days of rental 59,9 plus an extra 59,95 fee plys 16,5 for the gas which i left you more then i needed to and then a 28$ 2 day safemove insurance I selected no for. My original bill should have been the 41$ plus the 40 miles. 31,6 a total of 71.60. Which honestly should have a discount due to the issue the veichle had. I was notified on my receipt when I rented a truck from Uhaul that I would have a 10x10 storage unit free of charge upon my arrival in my new location. I arrived at the Conroe location and asked for the free storage unit. The manager gave me an attitude and with her tell (eyes looking up and to the right - usually means person is lying) told me "No, that is only if we have available units to give you". Kacey was excellent and very accommodating. The problem was that the storage unit that I was rented was full of someone else's stuff! It was too late at night to be able to unload our truck and turn it in. We had work the next morning making it very inconvenient. I called the 24 hour customer service line, and they were very helpful. They gave me another day on the truck and said they would add a free day onto my storage. It was still very frustrating because we had to get the truck unloaded and have the job completed before going to work on Monday and because of the situation we had to work all day and then go back and unload a truck. The staff here are Amazing!! Andrea and her entire staff work hard everyday for their customers. The facility itself, although not bad by no means, is in need of some improvements for sure. There are several newer storage facilities very close by, that are comparable in price, but the staff at this U-Haul is why I chose to store there. The upper management over this location need to take a hard look at what goes on in this area and get caught up with the competition. They also need to know how hard this staff works everyday to meet the needs of the customers they serve and they should be recognized somehow other than a pat on the back. I mean these people bend over backwards to meet the needs of anyone that walks through their doors. If the upper management can not see this and does not do something to makes sure this staff knows you appreciate how hard they work, then you need to find another job........just my two cents. I am giving a below average because of the hoops we had to jump through. I want to stress that staff was great and friendly, however U-haul leaves a lot to be desired. We reserved a 10x10 storage a week in advance. Picked up our trailer, loaded and headed 4 hours to go drop everything off. Upon arrival we find that our storage unit was rented to someone else and we were left holding the bag and trying to come up with a solution. Take note, that we still had to drive home 4 hours! The only option at the Conroe facility was to split it up into 2 10x5 units, in different building no less. Not to mention they were not drive up and we would have to shuttle everything in small loads. This was unacceptable. Thankfully, your employee Jose called around and got ahold of Ashlie at the Spring, TX facility (about 20 miles south). They had a drive up so we headed that way. Calling into Uhaul to change where our trailer was to be dropped off was a horrible experience. The first call, which took over 30 mins to get someone on the phone said she would update it in the system, but that I would be charged a destination change fee. Unacceptable and I told her I refused to pay this as it was a mistake on Uhauls part. She in turn gave me another uhaul number to call, as she couldn't make any changes. So, we jump on another call and wait 30 mins to talk to someone. He informed us that the site would not accept our trailer and I would be subject to a destination change if I left it there. I told him we had spoke to Ashlie and she said she could accept. Anyhow....Jose and Ashlie were great! The rest of the process leaves a lot to be desired! Last thing you want to deal with is unexpected changes after spending a full day loading and driving. This made for a horrible experience and stressful to say the least! Get your stuff together!!!! U Haul Storage has performed very well with the recovery of the trailer and storing the damaged contents of the trailer after an accident which totaled my truck and left me with head injuries. The insurance I purchased at the time of the trailer rental has not been acceptable. After two months, I have not received any settlement for the contents of the trailer as specified in the contract which included $5 000 in content coverage. I have moved the contents two times to storage units personally and was informed that the automotive insurance, not the insurance purchased with U-Haul, should cover the contents of the trailer. Overall, the storage unit served its purpose. There was a unit 2 down from mine that appeared to have been recently vandalized, and when attempting to call the office to inform them, I was just on hold for an absurd amount of time. None of that really was an issue for me, except for the terrible customer service. The staff was not very friendly and acted as if I was just a burden on them.
