PAULA CTwo points; I contacted uhaul to inquire if there was an option to haul a compact tractor. I was transferred to a local location, however, after a brief hold, inwas transferred back to a call center. The second agent informed me that there is a perfect trailer for rent, in my town. She stayed that it's description indicates compatibility for my purpose. She described it as a flat deck trailer, 19 feet in length, and sent me a quote. I arrived in the morning, and it was not 19', it was a short car trailer. Given the time constraint for my purchase, I had to use lumber and heavy equipment to load and secure my tractor. Second point: I arrived at the location, and the person that I dealt with, made me feel like I wasn't welcome. It was a rather negative attitude, and displeased expressions. The experience will definitely make me consider outside options for my next hauling needs. Merci

SARA TReally appreciated the correction to my drop-off site. Also like the new design of the enclosed 5x8 w split rear doors. Site is a little difficult to get into & out of when 8cy; be careful.
HILARY GIf you need to rent some moving equipment and you don't care about apathetic employee's who are grumpy that you interrupt their breakfast at their desk then this is the place for you. I mentioned that the door on the equipment needed some work when I returned it and was met with the reply that they are all like that. We had to pry the latch open and then it took two people to open and close the door.
Larry SThe guy who hooked it up was very rude and was swearing. Did not seem like he wanted to be there and was very unhappy. I could tell he did not want me there and helping me was not what he wanted to do.

DAVID EThe location itself is great, no issues whatsoever. That said, for my specific needs, I was headed up Hwy. 61 and it does take a bit to get up to Hermantown from I-35, but that's nobody's fault at all, that's simply my specific need. The facility itself was outstanding, the staff that I dealt with (I think it was the owner on pickup) were great. I was actually very impressed with the facility, the service and the trailer itself. It all worked great!
BRIAN MThe staff member who assigned my storage unit was very friendly, helpful and kind. The actual unit was up a steep, wooden staircase that didn't have anti-slip treads. I fell down the staircase and injured myself. There is no elevator to the second story, so the stairs are the only way up or down. Unless you are storing a bunch of light items, the second story is nearly impossible to use. I would not recommend.

DALLAS LTerry was very helpful in getting the ice off of the trailer. I reserved a trailer 10 minutes before pick up and it was available immediately. I was scheduled to return it at 11am but due to a line and material recovery I was running late. U-haul called me to check in and were very understanding. Would use again!

He couldn't find the rental until I told him it might be under my brother in laws name, and it was... I apologized for not having the car dolly in tow. He couldn't find anything about it. He was confused. He already had about 5 of them. Good thing, I didn't have it. I was promised compensation for the Haul but with him not finding any info on it, I probably wouldn't have gotten it anyway. It's like the left hand, doesn't know what the right hand is doing... The Hermantown site was awesome!

I have been a customer here for nearly 30 years, and the employees have always been exceptionally helpful and friendly. I know I can depend on them, and they never let me down. I consider them to be my friends. Thank you, U-Haul friends!

STEVEN PThe truck we rented was in good shape and we were happy with that part. However, we rented a dolly in advance and were told there were none available after we had already arrived. We really were relying on it and were disappointed there was no notification prior. We ended up having to buy one which we were really hoping to avoid as money is tight with our recent move. The customer service that was provided was poor as well. :( The man checking us out appeared very annoyed with us and was not friendly. We originally booked through another location that was closer to us but it was automatically moved to the Hermantown location. Not sure we will use this location next time.

MELISSA SMy unit was indoors and filled with mice. I had my unit for 8 months and when I moved out all my boxes, Rubbermaid's and stuff were filled with mice droppings. The unit itself was disgusting and filled with mouse poop so much everywhere.

He was able to move me out over the phone and tidy up the unit for me. I have moved all over this country and this is rare. This was a 30 days for free unit and I appreciate the above board customer service. I would not think twice about renting here again.

I kept having to buy a specific lock that they require for the unit as well, which kept breaking! I wish we could use other lock types. Staff was great, the manager is really nice as well. If you need affordable storage, go here. Not perfect, but definitely a great option.

Access signage from HWY 53 needs to be improved for the 1st time customer. Trees block the U-Haul building sign from the highway. The actual small entrance is unmarked and easy to miss. We found it on our second lap of the area. Once you know where it is, it's easy. Not the fault of the staff. They were great. Tom..... .

She's savvy about people's moving and storage needs and is also very efficient in processing whatever is required for your rental, be it equipment or storage space. Also: I never had to wait for someone to help me in the "store," If the right person wasn't on the spot, whoever was there would call for a person to come in and help a customer. Very satisfied customer.
Patti R | Expérience généraleI went to 3 uhauls and drove 40 miles tonight and spent 5 hours in a parking lot or driving back and forth in two states trying to pick up a reserved rental I was finally connected to a gal who gave me $50 reembursment but I only get it went collecting the rental so I'm sure it's no good now I have up and went home having my mother who is 75 come at 6:0 am to get to uhaul before they open and be first in line after being on hold listening to the same 15 words for over an hour and finally hanging up 3 driver's licenses woke up my daughter to verify cause me and my driver already had and they took until 1:30 to call her and she fell back to sleep on third attempt after being sent to the darkest rural far away secluded parking lot of a salon from a ghost town with the open sign eerily left on by mistake not a uhaul sign to save your soul feeling like the abandoned uhaul was full of man that were gonna jump out and kidnap me for sure I threw in the towel and drove home swearing and complaining and trying to scramble a plan together and talking with my bible when I ly down I have calmed down enough to appreciate the attempts made by one gall with the 50 reimbursement but after 4 failed reservations I'm not to confident to ever attempt after hour pickup ever again. I was served a 24 hour to vacate today that I didn't see until 3 and they taped it to my door at 11 4 hours stolen and then 5 hours with you horribly flawed online system and I'm so frustrated I saw a notification to rate y'all and had to and I have not even complained about everything and I won't but trust me there's more. And I'm praying someone can help me at 7 for my 4 hours to vacate thanks for helping steel my storage unit I couldn't get to to put a lock on when it's empty I understand but maybe think about changing policy cause you gave away my storage unit that was to be mine until the 5th of august and now I have no where to put my things I don't drive and haven't had a ride and was just left a voice mail saying you gave it away and I overlooked it until now and I'm homeless in 7 hours give or take and you basically cost me everything I own to homeless scavengers that I'll be living with now so I guess at least they will like your performance but help from others and found none and it's really been eye opening thanks be to God for the adventure good night me your just on a list of disappointing events where I needed
laura c | Expérience généraleWhen we were struggling to maneuver a couch, staff stated "I don't know what to tell you" rather than giving any helpful tips/tricks to a first time mover. The staircases are so steep as well! 2nd floor storage units are a cruel invention, but I am thankful I am able to store my stuff while I wait for housing!

Usually a little walkway shoveled along the building but then a snowbank so you cant even get the cart out. There was only one time this winter I had gone and it was cleaned up.

Every time I needed assistance it was a VERY long wait at the counter because according to the multiple staff members I talked to there was only one person working. I placed a call to uhual and it went to someone with a southern accent that didn't even work at the actual store! I think the solution is to just hire more people to actually work on site. If you cant find enough people to work then continue to increase wages until you get more people to work ON LOCATION! Lastly, Hours were not nearly long enough, I would expect hours to last until at least 10PM.

We didn't want anymore mouse poop on our things or potential destruction of our property. The 5 000 of extra coverage we purchased each month would not cover all our belongings being destroyed by mice!!

So I had to get a smaller storage unit on the second floor. I was not happy since all of my stuff did not fit in the smaller storage unit. I was told I would get a partial refund for the mix up. Well lets just say $6 is NOT a partial refund for YOUR mess up!!

The one other person working there could only do truck rentals, not storage. 40 minutes is a ridiculously long time to wait for something as simple as checking in to a storage unit.
