Our issue was the company selected to load our U-Box. The company, Efficient Moving Team, contacted me and said they will not pick up the U-Boxes. They will only load the U-Boxes at a charge of 40 $per hour. We had to contact more than 4 companies, including U-Haul's central offices to resolve our problems. It coast us an addition 125 $to have a different moving company assist us. So overall we did not have a good experience using U-Haul. We had no issues with the Fennario Moving Company. In fact they were very helpful and informative. We would recommend them to neighbors and friends.George B.

Coordinating what was happening was terrible. The right hand for sure did not know what the left hand was doing. No central point of contact, sent to MANY different phone numbers to try to coordinate everything. The delivery in Denver they would not load it as agreed, and there was huge confusion on what date it would be delivered in Florida. The Florida delivery service saved the day.Leslie A.

Picking up the car I tried to do through the e check-in. But some else was assigned to the same van I had. The checkout process took about 45 minutes in total. I was thankful for having the pick up time start later. The milage marked on my contract and actual milage on the car was 5 miles different. I am thankful for not being charged for the five miles but the checkout process was about 40 minutes as well.Emily G.

This was the worst communication I have ever seen. This location did not answer their phones for over 2 weeks. Each time I was transferred to the call center and spoke to 50 different employees. None of them knew what was going on with my reservation and would randomly call me to tell me that my u-boxes were delayed or that they were going to be moved to a different territory (ON THE DAY THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE DELIVERED) how bad does Uhaul communication have to be for that to happen??!!! I was also being overcharged online for services that I wasn't going to use, but had to sign the agreement to be overcharged or I was threatened that my delivery would be cancelled. When I spoke to call center they said I needed to talk to Uhaul Englewood, CO. I tried to contact them for 3 days but they never answered the phone!!! How am I suppose to have my issues solved if everyone at this company shoved me off to someone else that still can't help me or answer the phone. I had to drive down to the location just to get some of our stuff because of the delays and to pay the delivery fee where I was still lied to about the delivery time. When it finally arrived it was on the back of a small Uhaul truck which makes me feel like my delivery was forgotten and this location had to just grab a truck to get my u-boxes to me because they know they screwed up. It took 2 weeks to attach boxes to a small truck and drive 15 minutes, that is ridiculous. The lies, terrible customer service, and no communication are the worst i've ever seen from a company. I will be reporting my issues anywhere I can to warn people about the horrors of dealing with Uhaul U-box services. Just get rid of the option since your company doesn't know how to handle the services properly. Congratulations you lost another customer.Kevin F.

The left rare lighting was not working (Brake Light and Left Turn Signal Light), Oil was leaking. It's not the customer's responsibility to check if everything is working fine or not, it's the service representative's responsibility to make sure everything is working fine before renting it out to customers. We are not your testers. It's clearly customer safety hazard as the customer thinks that everything is fine while driving on the highway and when wanting to take left turn and when tries to take a left turn and turns the left blinker on (the dashboard shows that blinked is on and makes that turn signal sound), waiting for people on the highway to give him/her side but in reality the turn signal light never shows up or turns on, for others to give side. Oil leaking part is beyond excusable.VIDYA Y.
Where do I even begin. I'll start off with the fact that we scheduled a time to get wiring for a trailer installed. We arrive and they say their mechanic had left for the day, despite us literally having an appointment and us arriving on time. Then they didn't have the right size of trailer we reserved to drive with across the country so we had to use a smaller one which was inconvenient to say the least. We eventually arrive in Denver to find our ubox was not at the facility we had reserved it to, but across the city. We were then told we have three days of 24hr access to load the ubox. We load a few things into it then have to drive back across the city and load up more from our uhaul storage unit. When we get back our ubox is gone and the website says it is being shipped. We call customer service and after an hour and a half on hold, we get ahold of someone who just says whoops that shouldn't happen, try again tomorrow. We show up the next day for the person at the desk to yell at us for being stupid and how we should have let them know we needed additional access to our box and how they can't get it back despite the website saying we have 3 day 24hr access. I tell them the person I talked to ok customer service said we could access our box that day and she begrudgingly finds a work order the customer service person put in. Then they say we have until 4pm to get everything loaded and that's it. We rush and manage to do it by 3:57pm. Eventually when the ubox gets to where it needs to go they call my girlfriend and threaten to take the box back. They have my number on file and lie to my girlfriend saying they have been in contact with me and I said I wouldn't pay. My girlfriend who works a job and is it a lot of meetings this time of year has to step out of her work to give me the number because I had received nothing. No call no text no email. Nothing. I don't know who they talked to but it wasn't me. The number is for the ubox driver who then gives me just the customer service number. Eventually I get the number of the ubox person for my area and they say they've talked to me already and have been in contact with me and my girlfriend and will be removing our ubox. They literally have my card on file and I give them all my info again and they just say thanks and hang up. They didn't steal our ubox and all our stuff so I guess that worked? In summary this is company is a hive of the most unprofessional group of narcissistic, money grubbing, self loathing individuals I have ever come across that uses their power and the ignorance and poverty of those who come crawling to them in their time of need to take advantage of people who simply don't know any better.Chantal W.

I canceled my unit before I moved in to unit . I asked for a refund of the 10 95 for renters insurance. . And the lady there said she took care of it for me . But online it looks like she just backdated it to 8/29 and then put move out date as 9/1 , which caused my refund of 10,95 to be gone and a balance of 0.00 . This is incorrect. The mobile checkin was too wonky. Why wait until I'm standing in the parking lot to ask me to take photos of my documents? I could have done that before I showed up rather than spreading out my stuff on the ground to do a photo shoot. After that, I just had to wander around looking for a little number on my van with no indication as to where it would be. Fun part was that the numbers were on the side of the vans not facing the parking lot so I had to climb a small hill next to the road to find this van. Once I found the van, the next step was to wait 5-10 min while the mobile process verified me (again, this could and should have been done in advance). After I was verified, the next step was to go inside and get the key. Why would that be after I wandered around to find the van? There was no reason for me to find the van before getting the key. I think a little fine tuning on the mobile process would make it a more convenient experience for the customer, not just easier for the employees.Chad H.

Way too many furniture pads, each box had about 4x the needed amount. Also the address wouldn't update, U-Haul called me about 5 tubes to add my "4445" street number, and ultimately the driver did as well. Overall very useful service and would use it again, but done frustrating bus like the address thing would make it a lot better.James K.

Frustrating to schedule a 8am, contactless pickup via the app, only to arrive at 8am as scheduled and not be able to pick up my truck through the app as I was told. And the store didn't open until 9am. The guy outside, I didn't catch his name, was nice enough, but at 8:20 when I first talked to him he said he can't open or "be there" until 9 and couldn't help me, so I'd have to wait until someone else arrived at 9. Then at 9am he opens the doors and helps me himself? Then the store clerks tell me you can't do the contactless pickup for their locations pickup trucks because of the "homeless in the area". I'm just like don't tell me you can't after you've already caused the situation, update the app to not allow contactless pickup for the trucks then. Idk I just felt like they were blaming me for selecting that option on the app even though that was the easiest option on the app. Either make the system work properly / keep it actually updated, or don't have the app system offer after hours pick ups at all then. All I'm saying is either do it properly or don't offer it. Offering that check-in process and then it not working correctly waisted a lot of my time today. And then it was annoying to have someone there, before they opened but just be told to wait to be helped because they "can't be on property until 9am technically." Outside that they were nice enough, just a waist of my time and a frustrating experience overall seeing how clearly uhal corporate and uhal store locations don't communicate with each other.Cullen S.

The employees went above and beyond the call of duty to help me find all the benefits I needed to get a great deal and get the help I needed. The inside of the uhaul was fairly clean except under the seats was a lot of hair stuck to the floor but that wasn't seen until I dropped something under the seat but everything else was very clean and equipment worked extremely well and ran unbelievably wonderful I was very impressed and happy with everything. The minor exception was so minor it didn't effect anything or any opinion so yes I highly recommend these people and facility cause they were exceptional and I am extremely happy with everything I experienced. First, the delivery of the containers was late. Charges and fees were not properly disclosed otherwise I would have gone with another company. Trying to get through on the Customer Service line was absurd. It would normally take 20 to 60 minutes to get someone and twice the representative hung up once I got through. Outside of the two incidents, the staff was courteous and helpful. However, they did not have an understanding of the fees.Jim E.

We were renting a truck online and didn't know you could reserve storage on the same transaction. This made it extremely simple! when we arrived to the facility we weren't sure from the looks of the outside that it was going to work and then upon checking in realized we didn't reserve what we wanted (we thought we were reserving a 10x10 on the main floor but it was on the 3rd) and the unit we wanted wasn't actually available. We were going to try a different location but the man who helped us went above and beyond to help and accommodate us. He was very nice, explained things well, helped with the locks, and his customer service was a huge reason we didn't move on to the next location. we were able to find a smaller unit on the main floor that still worked out and the experience was the best part of moving day! I did everything online. I tried several times to reach someone by phone to ask a simple question and could not do so. My stuff arrived on time but one mattress was ruined, another smells musty, an antique chest was damaged. This was all caused by water damage to UBox. Luckily I bought Safestor Mobile coverage and have filed a claim.I have yet to ge contacted by them. Time will tell if the purchase of insurance will prove worthwhile.Linda R.

There is a disconnect between the different offices, the delivery drivers and the moving companies that you contract with. Communication is a huge problem. The online system is not clear on dates the items will be moved, when they will be delivered and if they will be available. Our moving company showed up to collect the boxes to deliver them and they are told the order was cancelled. Just very unclear and poor communication.Christopher R.

I went to the Englewood uhaul on Thursday and requested to have my boxes out on Saturday. I was told they would be out by 10am. It was a bit of a fiasco getting our stuff. We had scheduled our UBox to arrive at the Lakewood facility, and I received a confirmation email that it had arrived there. When we arrived the guy working could see that the system listed our box as there, but he couldn't find it physically. He was nice and called around to figure out that it was actually at the englewood location. We went down there and the woman working insisted the box wasn't there. Only after some persistence did I get her to look, and she found it. Eventually they brought it out to the lot where we could unload it. The most difficult part was that all of this took a very long time on a 90 degree day while I had an infant and three year old with me.Colleen N.

I signed up for contactless check in, but there is absolutely zero service in the parking lot. So I had to go inside, which took an oddly lengthy amount of time to check in, especially annoying considering it eats into the time you're allowed to have the rental. I was told I'd get a final copy of my receipt emailed to me when I dropped it off, but still haven't received it. Otherwise a good location with a ton of options.Tessa C.

The gal that helped us in Englewood was awesome. However the rest of the staff was very negative and unprofessional. Customer service training is desperately needed. Also need to fix the website and call center. Website doesn't really work well and no one answers the phone. I was on hold for well over 45 minutes on 2 occasions and gave up.Heidi K.
Ref. 27951010 - My ubox did not arrive on time nor on the correct side of my driveway. Per email from Uhaul, I called the toll free number and the support connected me to the departure uhaul site who could not help me and when I asked to advise me on the local destination site, I was transferred to another number, hopefully at the local number in FL. Then, I was put on hold. I was connected to what I believed was a local Palm Bay facility, but got transferred to a non-Ubox dept!! Uuggh!! At this point, I would have gladly paid another company twice what I paid Uhaul just to talk to a pertinent support personnel. Ugggh! The third time with Uhaul support (the wrong dept.) I was connected to was someone in CO (kudos to Patricia from whereever); the CO support poersohn confirmed my Ubox has actually arrived in FL. (Yay, after about 45 minutes). Then, I was transferred to yet a different # I was led to believe it was the Palm Bay, FL location that that email stated, then immediately got disconnected. Very frustrated at this point. Currently waiting for someone to answer other than prerecorded message, but was told the delivery did reach Palm Bay, FL. Calling the 888-553-3363 number again resulted in another disconnection again. At this point, I am getting both frustrated and angry that I cannot get any simple response on my Ubox. After calling the 888 number again, the rep advised it has not actually arrived in Palm Bay yet Uggghhh!! This was not what I expected to hear. Finally after about 50 minutes of trying to get status, Aryssa based out of Colorado informed me that my Ubox ended up in Pompano,about 184mi (according to Google maps); which is not the destination that Uhaul email stated (which was in Palm Beach, FL). Arrysa of CO transferred me to a direct line at Pompano facility and I am currently waiting. This could be due to the Palm Bay facility was at capacity, so I do understand; if not, then hope that Uhaul can use this feedback to improve their processes. It turns out that the direct transfer was not to Pompano Beach,FL site, but some other site. Still talking to yet another support personnel not at the direct line at Pompano, FL, that I was led to believe it was located at. I will closing this for now. But, I am not happyl with Uhaul at all....Grade? F-Hiroo S.
Somewhere along the line of delivery the lock was damaged in an attempt to break in. Fortunately the lock was not damaged enough and the key was able to open it upon arrival. I inspected the lock an hour before pickup and was present during the time in between. The break in attempt did not happen at my residence. Tryed calling to see if I could get a bigger truck when I got to my location because I needed to add a tow dolly, BUT know one would answer my call finally talk to someone at head quarters, and they said that the U-Haul that I went through would call me back shortly. WELl Know ONE DID!!! So I had to leave the vehicle there. Which I hope it's there when I go back!! What a hassle, Busy is Busy,, BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE THE MAIN GOAL!!! On the Sunday we moved out we were the first storage customer into the facility and the smell coming from the restroom was horrible. The trash and mess was absolutely gross. I notified two different employees and one saw the mess and we made a comment that a homeless person probably spent the night in there. I sprayed an entire can of Disinfectant to kill the smell. When we came back around 3pm the restroom was still not cleaned and other storage customers were commenting and taking pictures and posting it on Facebook. Only issues I'd raise would be the parking lot was consistently hard to navigate, though I think that's noone's fault due to the place always being super busy and I think one would argue understaffed. I had booked the storage 3 months in advance and still when I arrived at the location I was told they didn't have availability for the size I was looking. I had to manage another booking with 2 different sizes and pay 80 $more than what I initially was quoted. Access code didn't work, no doors were open other than a bay door that was left wide open and an emergency exit door that didn't shut all the way. Found my way in through those only to set off the alarm on my unit when I opened it up because I couldn't disarm it.Justin H. | Online Move In

Had very difficult time competing the move out process. Everything was out of unit by June 2. Continued receiving charges for two cycles, even after completing walkthrough of unit with uhaul employee. He forgot to close out and complete the move out. I returned to the store after receiving the first unexpected charge, same employee said he forgot to complete the move out but would be doing it that day and refund the transaction. After not receiving a refund, I was charged again. Called the uhaul phone number and had to be placed on hold for nearly 40-minutes only to be told that since they can't confirm the storage unit had been cleared out, there was nothing they could do except put in a complaint. He couldn't give me a direct number to the store or manager. I had to go throw Uhauls Twitter Direct Messages where they were able to give me the direct line to the general manager (Phil). Phil answered the phone, he was helpful and immediately able to complete the move out and initiate a refund for the two cycles. Wasted a number of hours and work interruptions trying to get what should have been a very simple thing taken care of. Would have thought I would've been offered something beyond the 210 $refund that was owed to me for all the effort and hoops I had to jump through. It took nearly 2 hours to get me into a unit. First my reservation couldn't be found. Then they didn't know exactly what units they had available. Then they tried to put me in a second-floor unit, when I had reserved a ground floor (there isn't an elevator). Then they couldn't find the mast key to open their own lock on the until to let me in. The night I needed to pack out I had no access. I had already been assured that it would be open and available until 10. At 8:15 my access was denied. I had paid someone to come help me move out and they were not available the next morning when I had to pack out by myself. Very pleasant staff. HUGE issue, I stopped into the location prior to setting up storage to see if it was what we needed. Looked at unit display for a 10 x 15. Had a garage door as display. Great. When we had a loaded truck with several trip to come. We were told that it would be a 10 x10 and an 10 x5 next to it. That would not work for what we have to store. Then it took a long time to find a 10 x 15 unit.. went to unit and that would not work because of small doors and we would not be able to get items into unit. Tried several to review. Then found out that was is display and what you have are totally different. BAIT AND SWITCH. The only place for garage doors is second floor . No elevator. That can't work, it is very heave what we are storing. Then GM called uhal down the road and asked if they had 10 x15 and they have outside entrance. OK but perferr instide. Went to the other location, and the cost was 40 $more a month for non climate control. Was under the gun and had to do that. So not really pleased with UHaul. The Santa Fe location had insulation ripped on ceiling, asked to have fixed before loading unit. Did but will have to do it again as they only had duck tape. Then noticed after almost totally loaded that there are whole to the outside on bottom of wall, asked to have filled so pest (mice and rats) don't get in. The person at the desk doesn't really work the front desk. Rep at lunch left message at desk asking erh to call. Have yet to hear back a week later. HAve tried to call back goes to customer service and hours on the phone. This had been a horrible experience and VERY disappointed. The staff is very nice though. Now kinda stuck as we don't have the time and manpower to make another move to a place that actually. IT is so WRONG that you do the bait and switchSherry M. | Expérience générale

The national computer system went down and created a disastrous situation for us - we nearly had to give our business to someone else. But Ryan Hammack patiently overcame incredible adversity to ensure we were taken care of. If not for Ryan, I would have never used Uhaul again. Because of Ryan, I have new respect for Uhaul. I rented both truck and storage to pick my stuff and put it in the storage but the access card wasn't active during the access hours so I had to return the truck with my stuff in it because I don't have space for them ,that's why I rented a storage .Second thing, I waited more than 30 minutes on hold to speak with a customer service representative and no one answered. When I came in to get my lock, I had already completed the online reservation amd the gentleman helping me couldnt locate me even with the resv #. The whole process took way longer than expected and when it came time to get into my unit, the key card wouldnt work. Overall I was very pleased with my storage at U Haul. I only had to leave when access to the location was limited to a scan card. Being only able to enter the site with the scan card limited me to access only when I was in my truck, when i needed to get in and was in a different vehicle I could not. This was an amazing end of my trip. The front desk lady was very helpful in switching the unit I had reserved online to a ground floor unit right by the entrance! She gave us a very helpful tour and all the info we needed. After we unloaded we easily checked in our trailer with Austin who was very helpful! The only impediment to the process I faced was a delay encountered when I was to unload my UBox and move it into storage. The UBox could not be accessed by the forklift while a semi was being unloaded. In hindsight I should have scheduled a definite time for the UBox to be moved.
