The equipment was clean, however the older trucks are slightly confusing and quite honestly a safety concern. The truck I drove did not have an accurate dashboard gear reading according to the actual gear shift I was performing. For example, the truck's dashboard showed that I was in neutral even though the gear was actually in reverse. This is not only confusing but dangerous were someone not carefully watching what the truck was doing. Updating the trucks or just making sure the dashboard read is correct would make it more accessible for the next customer.

The worker was super rude about our transacation. He wore a hoodie and sweatpants as a "uniform". We rented a dolly and they ended up not having a single dolly. The guy drove the truck up to the front and didn't say a word to us upon departure. He also said the truck was at a quarter of a tank. Mind you, we had to drive 87 miles to our destination with a 3 month old in the other car....didn't have a whole lot of time to stop and get gas before we reached our destination. So that was a fun trip. Overall, a terrible experience considering we've used U-Haul several times in the past and have never had this sort of experience before.

Nice place but pretty much got fucked over for my storage reservation. Free month storage with truck rental seems to be a scam. I understand space is limited and equipment is also limited but don't let me reserve a specific storage unit only to find out when I go to unload my uhaul truck that it's not available. Had to make other arrangements somewhere else and pay. Not the end of the world but uhaul prices and convenience seems to be not so convenient. Prolly gonna stop using uhaul along with telling every person I know the same

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. You got the feeling that you were inconveniencing them by even being there. Tried to turn in trailer at uhaul in Chiefland and Fanning springs, Florida. Neither would accept trailers. Had to drive all the way to Gainesville to turn in trailer. Cost me $35 in gas!

I felt my things were safe in this location and I never had any issues with accessing my unit. The units were clean and of a good size. The people on shift at that time were friendly and made the process of opening and closing my unit and renting a truck easy. Would recommend.

Not only did they misplace one of my u-boxes, they rented out a “rotational” truck to me to drive over 1 000 miles in. The girl at the counter seemed to give me the most recently returned truck. She gave me the keys and said “it's the one with the back door closed” only for me to walk out and have the check 4 different trucks to locate the right one. The check engine light came on after three hours of driving. I called the roadside assistance service and the guy tells me to keep driving and stop when the vehicle is hard to drive. I had to ask him to send someone. Luckily I didn't do what he said… because there was no transmission fluid, low oil, and low air pressure in the driver rear tire. I thought that would do it, but the truck broke down again, forcing me to spend money on a hotel room and extra gas to get a new rental the next day. The delay caused an additional delay because I ended up getting caught up in a bag storm as well. I would've missed the storm if the vehicle was checked before rented! Overall, you made my move the worst moving experience I've ever had. I will always tell how horrible your service is and I'll always choose your rental service as the last option in the future. You should reimburse me for the additional hotel cost, gas to drive out of my way to get another rental, and the delay of not finding my box.

The guy who did my installation was super helpful and friendly. He even updated the locking pin for me. My main complaint is that I had to take time out of caring for my dying mother to drive the hour to this location (which was the closest) only to have to wait over an hour past my pre-scheduled appointment time before my vehicle was worked on. It's kind of pointless to have appointments when you have to wait an hour longer just for the workers to arrive.

The storage unit experience was great but it was really painful and not an easy process to cancel. We had called the facility several times, we emailed on several occasions. We were ready to pay for them to break the lock for a fee but we ended up having to drive there all the way from NC to take care of it. At the end it was done, but we ended up paying for at least 3-4 months of extra unneeded storage. We also had issues with the recurring payment option on the website. TJ was very helpful but was very hard to get a hold of.

I wasn't informed of when the vehicle was done. And I was able to make an appointment for Monday, only to find out they aren't open on Monday. So I don't know why the website allowed that.. The actual hitch installation looks fantastic.

Got a dirty smelly vehicle, wrong mileage was reported and gas amount. When I brought it back the worker named yahtia Edward's had a terrible attitude. And since I told her about the difference in mileage than what was provided and showed proof with timestamp she decided to charge me a 25 dollar cleaning fee for a vehicle that was dirty already and I even documented that when I first got it in the checklist as best as I could. Then she argued with me saying if you have a vehicle on it increases your mileage on odometer even if it's in park. I ended up paying the bogus 25 dollar cleaning fee just to not have to deal with her for another second. I had the worst experience and for something advertised to be so cheap I ended up paying 102 for a one day rental. Please do something, I am so disappointed with my whole experience.

From the moment I stepped up to the counter, the employees acted like they were just there to get their paychecks. They took forever and seemed completely distracted, they handed me paper and my key and then I left. They did not come out to do an inspection of the truck. The truck was full of trash I'm the cab and the back from the previous person that rented. They forgot to give me my dollies that were booked ahead of time and I had to travel all the way back to pick them up. After I was completely done moving, i filled up the tank. I was unaware of how much gas I was to put back in because the employee did not tell me. I let the manager, TJ know that I was not told how much gas to put in it and needed up putting more than $20 than what I needed to fill up the tank. He acted like I should have put it in and did not even thank me or offer a discount. I needed up paying way more than I needed. Very upset!

My contract called for me to drop off at main st location upon arrival I was waived into return lane and then was greeted with you can't drop that here you gotta go to 6th st agent was rude and offered no help except go to 6th st there was no place to exit or turn around easily and cars were now behind me I managed to get out with considerable difficulties again with no help from main st staff approximately 5 people just staring at me I have rented from main st before but will never go back there and may stop using u haul all together extremely dissatisfied

First The Staff was excellent. I was helped out quickly and was able to take a tape measure and first hand measure a van to see if my cargo would fit through the door opening. Both, counter staff and warehouse staff were excellent. However, the first 10 foot truck I rented did not have any way to turn on the head lights, cabin, or cargo lights. The switches were just not there., Two holes were evident where the switches were supposed to be. I had to return, from my home 10 miles away, to get another vehicle. The next truck was okay with the exception that the anti lock break light and the slip indicators were illuminated on the dash. The truck, however, did drive and break okay. When I returned the vehicle, I returned it at 0935 ( had to be returned prior to 0959). I was asked if I had a e-mail address on file and that the invoice would be e-mailed to me. When I got the invoice, I had been charged for an additional day, citing my truck was returned at 1059. After a call to the dealer, The individual I spoke to saw the mistake and said my credit card would be refunded the overcharge within 3 business days. Later that same day, my refund had posted on my credit card statement. So, as I said, the staff was excellent and took care of what I needed when I needed it. Dave

Location was closed. BUT! The phone assistant (lady) was super helpful and understanding and made my wife feel super comfortable. Made suggestions when needed that were very helpful as well. This really surprised us concerning the indifference felt at PICK UP over the price switch.

Waited at least 20 minutes to rent an appliance dolly. The person at the counter was helping another customer, but there were three other employees in the store at the time. My transaction took about five minutes once the prior customer was done, very quick. It seems like another employee could have served me, saving time.

Planning ahead for one of the busiest moving weekends in a college town was not evident. The staff on site remained professional and courteous in spite of being extremely understaffed. Wait lines were in excess of 2+ hours. Promised delivery times for the cubes were not kept and overall preparedness was lacking.

I picked up the vehicle and filled it up with gas ($70), after about 20 miles the person I was helping move called and canceled as he was called into work, so I turned around and returned the vehicle. I was not given credit for the gas I put in, however, it is made abundantly clear that had I returned it with less gas than it started with, I would be charged $5 per gallon. I should have received a credit instead of UHaul keeping my gas.

This rental was much better and professional than my last one, that's why I prefer to go to this location. One point, when doing the 24/7 return it would not let me upload a picture of the mileage and gas level.

The only thing bad about this U-Haul location is that it is busy all the time. I wish they would increase staff. There is always a line and when someone is returning a truck or anything, that is time consuming so it takes forever for service. Get some extra staff in there to help out! Especially at this time of year when all the students are moving in. It is crazy!

The Gainesville people were great. I had a long trip ahead of me and they hooked me up with a new 26' Ford. Gville people made my move easy. Thanks to all of them!

Customer service was poor and despite being busy there was little to no communication with the customers. The attitude was very nonchalant and they did not seem to have the energy necessary to offer good customer service. They were understaffed (in my opinion) which is not their fault but better communication would be nice.

I reserve a trailer , travel 300 miles from SC to FL to pick it up and after waiting one hour in line they tell , sorry we do not have that trailer , And I'm due to pick something up on that trailer in an hour.I call the 1800 number which was of no help they offered me a Uhaual location in NC. After eventually getting a trailer hours later . I travel back to Sc and the drop off location Uhaual text to drop of I go there and they are no longer a Uhaual dealer etc …. Out of the many times I have rented from Uhaual this was hands down the worst experience ever. At this point I'm not sure I will use Uhaual again I feel I should have been refunded after all the problems I had .

When I ordered my U-Box, the directions that were given to me did not in ANY way match the guidelines given to me at the location. I was never told I had a specific Pickup time, and therefore only had 17 hours with my box instead of 24. Also, upon pickup, I was told by multiple people to schedule 24 prior. There were no trailers available.

When returning the 26ft truck on a Saturday absolutely no staff to assist in the return and was told to just leave the key on the desk when I asked don't I need to sign anything I was told no. It took from Saturday afternoon until Tuesday morning to finally have the truck checked in and many calls to the customer service number complaining that the truck had still not been checked in and they agreed no record of the truck being brought back. Very dissatisfied with this entire transaction. It was a near $500 dollar bad experience. I was told by customer service we would not be charged for the half day on Saturday and there would probably not be any additional charges ......well not the case I was charged an additional $63 dollars! But I will say everyone within the customer service area were extremely supportive and helpful.

Clean location with no alive bugs. I did see some big spiders in my unit but they were dead so I didn't care. Having the carts available to use are nice. Maybe having 1 dolley available would be helpful. The office staff were friendly and helpful.

Staff were unbelievably slow, extremely rude, and beyond unprofessional. Shouting matches broke out multiple times between customers and between customers and staff. I had to ask multiple times to clarify details that should have been explained up front. I waited for 75 minutes in line before finally receiving my key.

For question number 4 I said yes because you had one employee that was knowledgeable enough to help the rest of the employees that were there I’m not sure if it was a high turnover rate and you guys are re-staffing but it just seemed frustrating that one person had to stop what they were doing to fix another persons problem to stop what he was doing to fix another person‘s problem so all the customers essentially were waiting on this one employee while you had five people sitting around the registers

Could never ever pay my bill on time because I could not get ahold of anybody it was continually busy. The Internet site is a joke it does not work even the employees told me it did not work. I got charged multiple times for overdue because I could not get ahold of anybody. I at the last 3 months had auto pay which I did not know that was available this company is a rip off and would like to sew the socks off of them. The storage unit was fine…but the office. Why have a direct number if I can't get ahold of anyone there?! Every time I tried to call the office it rang out to customer service offices. I tried to call the day before to cancel my storage unit. I couldn't get ahold of the office and had to talk to a customer service representative who had to send a message to the uhaul office. They couldn't close out my unit and had to wait for the office. The office did not reach out, did not cancel it. I called twice in one day to check if it had been closed out (it had not) I called the next day and the customer service representative had to find the number of the regional manager of the units and conference him in to cancel my unit and write off the charges for a new month because they didn't close it out when they were suppose to. It's just frustrating you can call the actual office.

Ebony and Janna were both very helpful. While looking for a specific U-Haul storage location in Newberry, I found myself unable to get through by phone (full voicemail box), so I drove there, putting additional miles on the box truck. The units in Newberry were fenced up, and there was no one around to help me get access to the unit I'd reserved. I asked some ladies who were power-walking past the units, and one said she hadn't seen anyone there in a long time, and another said she thought maybe they were closed down. If service is completely non-existent for the Newberry location, why was I even allowed to make a reservation online? What a waste of time amd gas and truck miles/money! So I headed toward Gainesville, and saw another U-Haul location in Newberry, called Midgard. So I stopped there to check prices and use the restroom. Their restroom door wouldn't shut properly (I felt if I dropped my pants that I would be exposed to anyone who tried to enter, since, no matter how I tried, the door would not latch), and their unit prices were high, so that eliminated Midgard as a choice. It was getting to the point where I was going to look for storage providers not affiliated with U-Haul. Then I went to the facility managed by Ebony. I was tired from driving and disappointments, and hungry on top of that. I explained to Ebony that I had never used an indoor storage unit before, and that I was confused about access and unloading/loading. Ebony took the time to show me around the facility, and located a suitable unit for me, despite limited availability due to it being the end of the semester at UF in Gainesville. She showed me how to use the access card reader, and was patient and polite throughout the process of getting me into the facility. Then while I was moving my possesions into the unit, a friendly employee there named Janna told me she'd be around working to clean the units and to let her know if there was anything I needed help with, so that was icing on the cake. Hello my name is Alice Kirksey I am leaving this comment because of Jennifer Jennifer that works to the u-haul place on 6th street was excellent I love her she was very understanding with things she was very helpful she's just a wonderful person inside out in my overall experience with other there was great but Jennifer would be the reason why I come back If I needed another storage she managed the place very well Once again the other staff there was also wonderful

Working with Ebony was a dream. I am currently caregiver for my loved one who has cancer. Moving was traumatic for me - having to move in two days from St. Petersburg FL to Gainesville to be with my loved one here in Gainesville. She tolerated my angst about your terrible website that charged me $89 for moving supplies I did not order. She reversed the charges, and proceeded to help me setup the storage unit I needed. Thank you so much for hiring Ebony. She is an incredible asset to your organization. I am very impressed with how clean your storage facility is.

Staff rude on several occasions, keep double doors locked, don't answer intercom causing long walks to the front, didn't process auto pay so lock was on the door and took a week to have it removed because the girl who usually does it was out. Don't clean or keep bathrooms unlocked.

Facility was nice, but the company seems very money hungry. Every time I called with questions, either they were not very knowledgeable or never called me back. Sneakily increased the rate and then said "it's just $5" when it's actually an extra $60 a year. They also told me it was because of demand but said that it would never go back down again no matter the demand. Also was unable to get reimbursed/prorated for an entire month after move out. Won't be using this facility or probably any other U-Haul again.
