The original trailer size I ordered wasn't going to be available, so I was offered the next size for the same price. This also happened a second time, this time time offering me to drive 60 miles round trip for a trailer; I declined that offer, stating I live in Galesburg where there is a local UHaul. I was offered a trailer to be picked up in Galesburg. My wife went to pickup the trailer on 8/12 and they told her the trailer was in Moline, another 60 minute round trip. That wasn't going to work for us, so they offered yet another size trailer, so we took that. On 8/13 we got a call from UHaul in Moline asking why we didn't pick up the trailer. VERY UNORGANIZED operation.
Dwight W.The only issue was the U-box cover when I picked it up in Hyde Park, UT. The Velcro would not stick and I had to roll it across the back and secure with a bungee cord so that it wouldn't flap around and cover the brake lights.
Ashley A.I tried to purchase a lock from this UHaul facility and it didn't work properly. When it came time to exchange the lock for a refund, the manager (Timothy Guerrero) could not figure out how to process the refund. I left the store on Sunday, July 3, 2022, without a refund and a less-than-satisfactory feeling. When I cleaned out my small space after one month, I checked out successfully -- without incident. However, went I went to retrieve an item (I Pass transponder) that I had left behind during a previous rental, I was told by the assistant manager, Dillon Barnes, "that it was a good thing that I found it. I'm surprised the manager didn't toss it out." That same manager saw me on Saturday, July 16, when I successfully cleaned out my storage space, and chose not to come to the counter when I was ready to check out. Why? I'm not sure. I was also promised some type of UHaul VIP certificate to compensate for some of the lack of customer service that I have received over the past three weeks. It has yet to applied to my bank account, and the amount promised (appx. $246) is insufficient to cover these latest round of poor performance on the part of UHaul. I'm sorry to report this. Debra A.When I booked a reservation for a 26ft truck they gave me the assumption I would be able to pick up the truck no problem- I get there and had to call customer service due to an “issue†and until it was resolved I would not be able to rent the truck- I booked in advance and spoke to several people and not one of the agents I spoke with informed me of this said “issue†it was time consuming to say the least - the tank was on 3/8 of gas and l purposely returned it on 3/8 of gas- and they still tried to charge my card an additional 30,9- my overall expense was 383.00, 80 for gas and because my reservation was cancelled after prepaying the money wasn't refunded back to my card so I spent another 162,05- it shouldn't cost this much to move!!!!! I also rented a storage for almost a year , paid on time the least they can offer the ability to throw things away at no cost to the renter!!! I asked how much it would be for dumping they said 100 asked how much it would cost if I left the truck at a uhaul location instead of doing a round trip I was informed 1200 for providing an incorrect location to drop off- what kind of company is this that charges out the ass to move this entire trip just put a sour taste in my mouth- it cost 7 to rent a dolly as well!!! If you have a million dollars to spend go ahead you'll need it!!!

And the store was well kept, clean, and organized. Definitely one of the better uHaul facilities I've visited. We even decided to rent a storage unit! Overall we are extremely satisfied customers!

Joshua W.The 15-foot truck that was assigned to me had 172,000+ miles on the odometer -- which I discovered 500 miles into my trip -- and a nearly bald right tire (which the store manager basically laughed off when I pointed it out to him when returning the vehicle, ahead of time and with more gasoline in the tank than when I started. Not surprisingly, he refused to take a photo of the tire after I checked in. Perhaps he thought I was lying when I also told him there was either a screw or nail lodged in part of the tire. On top of that, he handed me the keys knowing that the vehicle was averaging 6 to 7 miles per gallon of gas. Quick math tells you, I got barbecued over the holiday weekend, courtesy of the Sandburg UHaul in Galesburg, Illinois. Negative experience doesn't begin to describe it. Renters beware!

CAROLYN H.Received a call saying no trailers were available at the location I reserved the trailer. The closest was 30 miles away. I went to the location I reserved the trailer and one was available. Wasn't happy that I was lied to and would have had to waste time I didn't have getting the only trailer available according to the lady I talked with on the phone. We also saw that if there was a problem with your original reservation you would be compensated $50. There was no mention of that during the phone call.

Our issue was remedied quickly by Tim thankfully and that was appreciated. Dillon was great checking equipment back in as well.

That was a no show. That meant having the Uhaul from Homestead Flagler Avenue longer buy 3 days . I called Sandburg Uhaul to inform them. Met with a customer service representative I didn't get her name, that felt my upset. Compassion was what I received. Gave me an extension on the truck. We head North and was about to run right into a blizzard. We had to stay in Georgia for 2 days. I called to inform Sandburg Drive Uhaul. WOW!! They were genuinely concerned about our safety. Implored us to take whatever time we needed to get home. Not to worry about the truck return. This business is a stand out. Friendly, knowledgeable,professional, compassionate , affordable. The best customer service all staff. I'm sorry I can't remember everyone's names. Thank you Tim and Dillon for treating us like people and not just a number. Autis A.We couldn't have asked for better service during a stressful move. Dillon was awesome!! We had to return our truck on 1/1/2021 but due to an incoming snow storm the store was closed. We contacted the 1-800 for guidance because we had stuff to put into storage and didn't have any storage unit info yet. They advised that we take the truck back home and return it when the store reopened. We showed up the next morning and Dillon showed us around the facility as well as guided us to our unit. The whole process couldn't have been easier! Stress-free experience which is greatly appreciated. Keep up the excellent work!!
