I had a one day rental. Picked up the trailer Friday evening instead of Saturday morning because of the extra distance to Glenn Burnie vs.Annapolis where I live. My reservation changed from Annapolis, to Bowie, to Glenn Burnie. The latter a 30 mile round trip. I explained to Miriam that I may return on Sunday Morning when they open the gates because of the extra distance.\. She said trailer was scheduled to go out Sunday at noon so be back by then. Would not charge the extra day. I told her no problem. (Although when she reached out to me Saturday evening before closing looking for the trailer she told me its OK to return Sunday morning but I would be charged the extra day. She was not telling the truth). I could not make the Saturday evening return because of a flat tire on the trailer. I was on hold for 48 minutes for U Haul road assistance. I finally paid out of pocket to a local repair shop for the repair. Jay, Glen Burnie manager, texted me this past Tuesday that he would call me to discuss the extra day charges I was assessed He never called. I received the two day charges on a bill I received via email yesterday. I tried contacting Glenn Burnie customer service yesterday. Was on hold for over half hour and quit. I did text Jay back.. He never answered. I am still waiting for a resolve. My number is 410-703-2558.Brian M.

The self pick-up process took me to a back parking lot but the vehicle had been moved to the front for convenience. Unfortunately, I didn't know that before I walked all over looking for the one reserved. Next, the self pick-up process asked me to verify any new damage before I signed for it. It was clear that the pictures were old and didn't show the true status of the vehicle. I had to take and upload the maximum allowed pictures and add details for all the damage that occured before me.Nathan N.

Overall the facility was nice. However, my reservation pick up location was changed the night before and I was not aware of this change until I went to my original pick up location and saw that the truck was not there. The woman on the phone (from the middle river/essex Uhaul location) was very rude when I inquired about where my truck was. She informed me that the person who updated my reservation (Rachel) did not provide me with the information and "there's nothing I can do." I then had to drive an extra 30 minutes to pick up my rental truck - I did not plan for this in my schedule. I don't know that I will be using Uhaul in the future.MARIA S.

Unfortunately, your phone answering system is worse than horrible. I was on hold for over an hour for each contact except one. After holding for 1 hour and 45 minutes. someone finally came on the line, transferred me to another department who disconnected the call. Truck stunk like cigarettes. Truck drove like its been abused and driven hard. I would have been pissed if I had to drive this truck long distance. Luckily it wws jist 18 miles round trip. I've rented a 10x15 unit. Everything is great--except that location's storage unit assignment process. As you likely know, a 10x15 is actually and 5x10 combined with a 10x10 unit. I would like to have units as close to the elevator as possible. Alas, Uhauls "policy" is that they have to be right next to each other. Only complaint, is only one elevator for the back facility. While it is centrally located, my unit was at the far end and it was quite a walk. Not an issue unless moving in a full truck of stuff. Also, make sure to go one size up from what you think you will need. My original selection was WAY too small. I had a hitch installed at your Bolingbrook, Illinois and rented a trailer from Ottawa, Illinois to move our stuff to Annapolis. We had excellent check-in support and got our stuff moved in. But I found that the installer of the lighting harness forgot to re-bolt our left tail light and we found it dangling precariously when we unhitched the railer. The head mechanic at Glenn Burnie came out and fixed it even though it was late and he was leaving for the day. I hope you appreciate him as much as I did.Ralph C. | Expérience générale

Just wish someone would have mentioned the need to purchase a lock. I originally rented a storage unit but upgraded once we saw the drive up units. I went inside and spoke with staff, very easy process and staff were very friendly. Upgraded our unit and drove to the back again only to have another staff member remove the lock but not even speak to us. We said hello and thank you but he just walked away. We loaded our items into the unit thinking that the man would come back with a lock but we ended going back into the store to buy a lock and then again to return to the unit to lock our unit. Upon moving out i discovered the storage container i was renting had alot of rodent droppings. since my stored items were loaded directly into the control of a moving company i have yet to be able to inspect them, and wont be able to for 6+ weeks until delivered. The first employee that helped me had no idea what she was doing. It was packed. I spent almost 3 hours at the facility, but system went down & phones went out, so it wasn't their fault. The girl asked for assistance numerous times from other employees. They gave me a unit and someone else walked me down to the unit & unlocked it. However the girl didn't give me a lock. I had to walk back up to the office which was a long walk. Someone else helped me this time and was much more knowledgeable. Walked back down to the unit and locked it. Then went back in and stood in a very long line again until I was finally checked in & did all the paperwork. Luckily I got someone else this time. Perhaps the first girl was new. Maybe you should have them well trained prior to checking people in. Everyone was very pleasant though, even when things were very busy. Check in was slow and the alarm went off when I accessed my unit because my code hadn't been activated. It's reasonable to assume that when people rent a storage unit, they are going to put stuff in it right away, and will not enjoy hearing a loud alarm when they do so. Additionally, it's absurd that I need to provide two contact people's information for my storage facility that only I will ever access. Being told "this is our policy" rather than the reason for the policy is not acceptable.
