When I picked up my truck, it was frozen shut and completely encased in ice. The rear gate was also completely frozen closed. Getting the ice removed, defrosting the truck and opening the truck took over 90 minutes out of my planned moving time, and resulted in a much later day.

Very clean, secure and well lit. Trolleys to move items to your storage space were readily available and in good repair. I had my space for 2 months longer than expected but the price was reasonable and didn't break the bank. The Bayers Lake outlet in Halifax truly did exceed my expectations. I would not hesitate to use this location again.

When I got in the truck the windshield was completely iced up and the windshield wipers were frozen solid. There was no ice scraper in the vehicle so I had to go a get mine. It took about 20 minutes before I even left the lot. Wasted a bunch of gas just trying to get the windshield clean.

The staff working had no regard for people in the location. He was on the phone for 20mins before acknowledging us. He said where our rental should be. Wasn't there. When I asked him to show me where it was he sighed and was like “you want me to show you”. The rental was not like the pictures as it had no body decals, so from far away why would we think to go look at a random white van? On drop off, all the trucks and more from when we picked up our rental to when we got back. It just didn't seem like the staff were doing anything. I tried to put the key in the drop box and it wouldn't close.

When you call the number for your business there should be an option to actually talk to someone, there is nothing more annoying then having to pick a category and not know which one in order to leave a message.

The agents are lovely but the entire process, whether online or in person, is always a nightmare. I saw two different people crying in the store in one day, and even let the agent know I have also had to cry during a Uhaul experience. It's inconsistent, time consuming, and often ends with no access to service. I don't recommend uHaul.

Each person I spoke with had a different price after I had reserved a truck and also there was an issue towards the end which there shouldn't of been but it was miscommunication on U-Haul part. But yes I would use U-Haul again I think some of the staff need to be trained more or the customer needs to be told what to do in case of…

The first vehicle I was given was empty. The second vehicle I was given had an air leak in a tire. The third uhaul I was given was missing a side view mirror. The employee behind the counter wasn't wearing his mask and was coughing. Then, when I returned the truck to another spot in Halifax, the employee charged my credit card without asking when I said I'd like to pay by debit. The credit card he charged on my file wasn't my credit card, it was a friends. He did it without asking. All in all, it was a horrible experience. I'll never, ever, ever rent using uhaul ever again, and I'll make sure to tell everyone about my experience and to use Discount instead. I should be asking for a discount for what I was out through.

We had requested two carts and two trolleys for our pick-up. When we arrived, they only were able to give us one trolley. This was extremely frustrating. I had to go to Canadian Tire and spend ~ $120 for two carts. Why would you not be able to deliver what was requested? Or at least tell us you couldn't supply and we would have tried to find an alternative before we arrived at U-Haul on Friday.

Van was fine. New and perfectly clean. Also booked moving equipment - furniture cart This was NOT available. How do I move heavy objects without cart? Suggested I drive 30km to pick up at another location or purchase one from a retail store. How about another suggestion… when I reserve something a week in advance … just have it ready

Overall I was very happy with my rental of both storage lockers. My only complaint was that I will billed for the entire month (December) when I moved out on the first day of the new billing period. I had tried to get out the day earlier but the moving company could not have the job completed before the access to my unit was closed at 1900. As stated by the CSR " at 1900 we close and turn on the alarms" This cost me an extra day and thus an additional 243 dollars spent on a unit i was not going to use again. That was disappointing.

Following months of storage fees we were disappointed that we were charged ($95) for an additional month. The locker was closed out Dec 5th. Locker was opened months preciously on the day 4th.

Having an employee walk around the rental with the customer before leaving is a must. Not everyone is mechanically inclined and this should be done as a team and not on your own.

I rented to Cargo Vans. Was expecting to have a corporate rate as it was for a couple months. I was told I would be charged monthly and that did not happen. I get hit with over $5000 bill then have misc charges applied to my card. I had collections reach me no problem. The day I received email i paid so why I was not contacted monthly or to advise they were charging? I also have no clue what I have paid for. Wait time is over 1 hour to try to get through and I do not have that time. There is no where to dispute I can find other then here. I will be requiring rentals for 4 months every summer. Dave Thibodeau that spoke with me was amazing and had me switch to Uhaul from Penske and Ryder. Now I feel I made a mistake. Dave is currently as well trying to reach a rep from here and I have confidence in Dave that he will get me details but with the online platform and call center this is crazy I cannot speak or get an answer as to the I have been charged for. Also the return date is incorrect. Please contact me asap. 902-497-1766 or kim@hoytsunited.com. If I do not hear from anyone I will call the credit card company to start the process of reversing and blocking my card.

The person was so slow and not helpful. We asked for an early pick up , asking to pick up at 230. We got there and didn't leave until 320. We had paid for a dolly, and he made no effort to give it to us, we had to ask another employee for the dolly.

Several times had difficulty accessing unit. One time it was an urgent need and the hallway was totally blocked by another person reorganizing their unit. Mentioned it to staff. Nothing was done Floor cleaning should be done after hours and definitely not in a Saturday. Floors were being waxed and unit was taped off (twice)

I rented a 5x8 trailer to go from Halifax to Kingston, with a stop in Montreal. I had to tow the EMPTY trailer all the way back to Halifax from Kingston to get the daily rate, because dropping it off in Kingston would have cost me OVER $5 000!!! THE SUPPOSED REASON WAS THAT THE OUTLET WOULD BE DEPRIVED OF THE INCOME FOR THAT TRAILER IF I DIDN'T BRING IT BACK. It's a TRAILER! It is just as likely that someone would be coming to Halifax with that type of trailer anyway, evening out the available inventory. The one-way price was HIGHWAY ROBBERY as far as I'm concerned and I will never rent from U-Haul again if I can possibly avoid it. My brother moved one-way from London, Ontario to Lunenburg Nova Scotia with a 15' U-Haul truck towing their car on a U-Haul trailer behind, and it cost just around $3400.00. The policy is obviously to squeeze as much money as possible out of the customer. I can understand that there could be an increased cost for certain equipment going one way, but over $5 000!!!!!!!!!!!!! for a small trailer. I was quite happy with the outlet people but will I ever recommend U_Haul to any one? Not a snowflake's chance in Hell!!!!!!

I will be honest I do find for myself that yes it's really great that you get storage for one month free but I got to be honest with you I move back due to daughters health reasons and I'm on disability CPP and the affordability of the units every month is very high. Yes I'm going to beg and borrow to be able to pay it because that's my stuff but I'm just being honest it's a very high amount. But I will have to pay it come Dec….

9/10 experience. Storage unit was secure, but not well lit. I was very disappounted that I had never been offered a continental breakfast during the duration of my patronage. It would have been nice to see a pizza day once in a while too. Another gripe I had was that there was no public washroom and/or tennis facility. If these improvements were made to the property, then I would consider staying longer.

I am a bit disappointed with the misinformation I received regarding your promotions. I called on October 8th to inquire about promotions and rates as I saw one on line for one month free storage with truck rental. I called the Halifax location to ask specifically about this promotion. I was told it was available for both one way and in town rentals. I asked if I could book it on line or had to be in store, I was told I could do either. I proceeded to book both my truck rental and storage online. The promotion was not valid. I had issues picking up my truck on my mobile device as it did not show up on my account reservations, only my storage. I went to Customer Service to check in for my truck. Received everything, no problems. Disappointed that there was no access code available and I was limited to the holiday hours to move and store my items. I asked about the promotion and if the agent could apply it for me. He advised that it had just expired. I asked why I would be told of an expired promotion? He said I could provide feedback. This promotion was the reason I decided to choose uhaul for my truck rental and storage solutions. Finally when I arrived to return my truck, I could not do it via mobile self service as the rental still did not appear on my account reservations. I called the after hours support and was on hold for 40minutes before I was disconnected. I called back and requested a call back which never happened. I called the Halifax location at 7am as soon as it opened to explain my issues with mobile return of my truck. I said I could drive to the location to complete the return in person before my truck was due to be returned should that be required. I was advised it was not necessary. Needless to say, a process that seemed all too effortless on line did not go as smoothly as planned. I chose uhaul for the promotion of one month's free storage if this wasn't the case, I would have chosen other options as there were promotions elsewhere I could have taken advantage of. I hope you would honour your promotion. Merci.

Our truck was easy to find however the rented dollies were not there, so we had to go get them. When we returned to locate our new storage unit the desk attendant was not friendly , nor helpful. At first he indicated there was no reservation, then looked it up, all while making no eye contact.

My experience was horrible with U-Haul from the beginning to the very end. There were a few bright lights in a mostly miserable experience from the pick up of my trailer to dropping my things off in storage. I really don't know how you Allstate in business with the poor customer service you provide, your internet portals are a joke, no one ever answers the phone and your customer service in person people are burnt out from all the unhappy customers. My reservation wasn't there when I arrived but when you are the most tired in your life there is no fight. The last person I felt with was accommodating sympathetic and kind. If U-Haul disappeared in a black hole no one would care.

There was some confusion about the location of the unit due to the addition of new storage units at the facility. Beyond that small glitch everything was great. Easy to access, lots of carts available to move from truck to storage unit.

I rented storage. In order to access the storage you have to go into the office and have one of the agents press a button. If there are people in line (to rent vehicles, book storage, pay for items, etc, you have to wait behind them. Could be over a half hour just to have them press a button to get into the storage bay. Ridiculous, and I will be going to another storage after this month is over.

The person at the front wasn’t very pleasant to deal with it; felt like he had better things to do Claimed I had everything I needed for my move in date april 7 2021 Not sure if my code for the door just wasn’t entered or if I was just not given one I went over all the paper work he gave me the day of and emails no access code was given
