The trailer was covered in Lighter fluid or some chemical. I did not check the trailer when I picked it up, and it appears that they did not either. No quality control. Half my living room smells like lighter fluid and I will be following up with a complaint. I also had to drive around town 3 times and ended up returning to this same location after they sent me to a closed location. Horrible experience with the website and this locating overall

John should be fired and required to work with no people for the rest of his life! Cassandra needs to probably learn how to practice how to be a supportive and positive team member and customer service rep! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION ITS HORRIBLE!!! every single person in the lobby at 11 am on a Saturday was unhappy, complaining, or given the wrong storage unit. I was not given a dolly but charged. Insulted by 3 people who work there because I am a single 30 year old woman who does things are her own. I gave them my emergency contact who doesn't live in the state and then couldn't wrap their heads around the fact I don't have one local? Ive rented from Uhaul for over 9 years and this is the worst most horrible experience to date!

I tried to return the unused boxes like I was told I could and was called a liar and implied a con artist. I stood my ground and the clerk realized he was incorrect and corrected the situation without apologizing. I asked to speak to a manager and was refused. I was told i was going to leave a bad review to which he shrugged. Extremely poor customer service. Also took almost 20 min. Per transaction with this location

The attendant on both of my returns were not friendly. The first attendant wanted to charge me for 4 gallons of gas even though he could see I drove a total of 8 miles. He did not seem to want to come up with a solution. The attendant on this return was short and unfriendly with me. He have me no paperwork. I then saw I was Charged for two days rental and the return time said 6:30 am even though I checked in with him around 5:30 the previous evening.

I couldn't make a reservation online the night before, which was SO frustrating and slightly panic educing. The mobile check in and check out process is fine, but i do not appreciate being expected to use my own data plan to do the u-haul employee's job. When returning the truck, the guy was so busy he said to just leave it there and they'll email me. Which was fine, but again, didn't make me feel like I was doing the correct thing at checkin.

My issue isn't with the rental location but with U-Haul's policy. I could almost say that your price of !9.95 a day for a pickup truck is false advertisement. A day is 24 hours, not how long you say you are going to use it for. I was immediately charged an extra day and an extra $10 collision & damage waiver since I kept the truck over the 6 hours I said I would have it. I suggest you change your advertisement to read $19.95 per rental period. It would be more accurate. But that's okay. We are moving long distance and this experience has made it clear we'll go with a truck rental competitor (much bigger truck, many more miles, much more revenue).

Our original Uhaul was scheduled in Centennial. Uhaul sent us an email 1.5 hours minutes before pickup that they had moved the location which we did not see until after we got to the location. What is the point of a reservation if it can't be kept? When we arrived at this location (Highlands Ranch) there was a huge line and only two people checking customers in. Something changed and they opened up a line and instead of inviting the people at the beginning of the line that had been waiting for a very long time, they invited everyone and people from the end of the line rushed forward. We waited in line one hour just to sit down and get our reservation. We had not anticipated the changed location or the extraordinary wait times and because of this we had to contact the movers to change their times. It was very inconvenient. Then they updated our truck rental return location and now I am seeing a 'wrong destination charge.' I don't understand why I am being charged for this when Uhaul is the one who changed my rental return location at the counter. This is the last time I ever use Uhaul. The only reason we didn't use Penske this time was because the closest one to us was closed on a Sunday. Now I know it is better to go out of my way to get a Pense truck then to ever deal with Uhaul again.

This review is for this location only, and should be for the overall U-Haul experience, which was horrendous. If it wasn't for the people at this location, this rental wouldn't have even happened. I was sent to THREE different locations, all of which I was directed to pick up my truck. Horrible experience, horrible guidance, and deplorable service.

I had an order cancelled because the trucks were overbooked. Then I went to pick up my truck that was half the size of my original order and it wasn't there. Then I went back later and it was there, but the staff was unfriendly, slow and unprofessional. Glad I don't have to go back here again.

Trailer hookup was incorrect. After just 20 miles the chains were dragging. This was before the auto was loaded. Rubber holders that go on the ends of hooks, to keep them in place, were missing in two places. As the chains dragged, the electrical connectors dragged with them and were severed. NO lights no brakes, etc. Nice!! I was able to fix these with heat shrink wire butt connectors. I also shortened the wires about one foot so they were easier to deal with. Glenwood Springs Uhaul customer service claimed they were open until 7:00. Nope. They closed at 6:00. The safety chains at the trailer hitch caused problems the whole trip.

The only thing that was extremely DISAPPOINTING was the road side assistance service. I was pulling my car and when I got a flat tire on the middle of my move I didn’t get assistance. WASTE OF MONEY. I attempted to call before showing, and sat on hold for over 20 minutes. No one ended up answering. When we got there, I was told that someone would assist me in returning my equipment. Instead, they just locked the doors and went home for the day. Myself and other waiting customers were left to figure it out on our own.

My overall experience was substandard. I reserved my truck three weeks before my pick up date at the same location as my storage unit to make for a very easy move. My total miles from storage to home and back to storage was 42 miles. Upon arrival at storage unit on day of pick up I was informed that I would have to travel to a different location across town to pick up my truck. This was due to the fact that my truck was given to a customer that was supposed to do a Mobile pickup at 8:00 am. They did not do a mobile pickup and their truck was given to someone else. They were sent to my location which only had trucks for parties that reserved them. So after I traveled 13 miles (in my own vehicle) to get my truck, then back to my storage unit, then to my property and back to return the truck I had traveled a total of 80 chargeable miles plus the 26 in my personal vehicle (round trip). This adventure took 8 hours, which should have taken only 4 hours! In the end I was never offered any kind of compensation and never shown any empathy! They just acted like it was standard practice to take reservations and not hold them, when the holding of the reservation is the most important thing. Anyone can just take them! My overall rating and experience on a scale of 1-5 is a minus 5. U-Haul sucks and I will never use them again and if you do,be prepared to have the worst experience ever on a day that in most cases should be exciting and fun, not frustrating, irritating and overall shitty!

I reserved a 10’ truck because moving is expensive. The gas is expensive and truck rentals are expensive. Additionally, I didn’t want to drive a huge truck across the New Mexico and Colorado prairies. I received a 15’ truck. That makes me angry. I didn’t want a 15’ truck otherwise I would have reserved on.

It took about 45 min. to do something that should have taken 20 min. Not enough help! After driving straight thru from Dallas, and get there and have to wait, was not good. Had to drive in the mountains after dark pulling the trailer, scary!

your pricing is deceptive! I rented a 15" truck for 8 miles and about 3 hours and it cost almost $100, not the $29.95 listed. When I turned it in, the guy said it was below full and wanted to charge me $14.50. I asked how many miles I had put on it and he told me 8. So, he was charging me for 3 gallons of gas for 8 miles. I think it was excessive and will look for other options next time.

when we returned the U-Haul the man asked how we damaged the ceiling. hadn't damaged the ceiling. After he examined the ceiling he realized it had been poorly soldered, and not our fault. We were very upset while he examined the previous damage. We rented the U-Haul with 1/4 of a tank of gas, and returned the U-Haul with 1/2 a tank. So now you charge extra for the milage that was stated during the reservation and don't reimburse for the extra fuel in the tank for you.

The individual that checked me in when returning the equipment was rude. He had blonde hair and glasses. I pulled the vehicle into the lot and he told me unless I needed a detailed receipt I could go. I had use the truck share procedures so I had expected to follow the steps for checking it back in and when I started to bring it up he interrupted me and just said there was nothing else I had to do and that he needed to put the truck in the “right” place. He seemed annoyed that I returned the truck to the general lot and not the equipment return area however the instructions stayed I could return it anywhere in the lot.

I attempted to check in online. The truck that I was suppose to get ended up getting assigned to me and one other person and they got their first. No one at the front desk could figure it out. The lady at the desk, I believe her name was Cassandra (not 100% certain on that) had no clue what was going on, was rude, and very short with me. I think she was upset that I tried to complete the booking and check out the truck online.

I have been coming to this location for years for help on various projects and always been satisfied with the readily available advice and products. This is the first time I came to my local U-Haul for a long distance move and once again was very pleased with the help, advice and products on hand to complete this move. I couldn’t be any happier. I’ve regularly recommended this U-Haul store to family and friends and will continue to do so. My only regret is that we'll now be leaving the area and can only hope that my next local U-Haul store will measure up to the one we’re leaving behind.

Usually and generally pleased with U-haul. This location has some issues. The person that hooked up my trailer failed to tighten the coupler to the ball. Not sure why the trailer didn't bounce off going down the road. Fortunately I checked it a few miles down the road, shame on me for not checking it in the U-haul lot. Secondly I was charged for an extra day (3 days instead of 2). This location would not respond to my requests. An online chat to U-Haul Corporate and this was quickly resolved, and my money was refunded. I expect more from a store of this size.

I had great service until recently. I dropped off the truck on 4/29. When I picked it up, the agent advised me that if I don't fill up the gas to the same level, I would have to pay premium rate of $4/gallon (rather than the going rate). Seeing that I used less than 1/8 of a gallon, I did not fill the tank, and was willing to pay the difference. I was charged a $30 fee, which I was not advised - she said specifically the $4/gallon. I have emailed twice, and left two messages with customer service at the Highlands Ranch store for the Manager to call me back, and have heard nothing. The app was a pain in the ass, didn’t work, and customer service through the 1800 number was a 30 minute wait. The individual location and employees were great but the corporate customer service was piss poor, as to be expected with any corporation. Fix your broken corporate CS systems, or kindly step out of the way and let the small biz owners/franchisees handle it.

They were 3 1/2 hours late, with no calls to let us know. And there were no emails or calls ahead of the move date to confirm. Then, one of the movers was really slow. So, it cost us extra an extra hour ( but my estimate). Additionally, I incurred an extra expense renting a U-haul when we thought they were no-shows. There was no access to the Two Men dispatcher on a Sunday. It was a bad experience. Both movers were courteous.

I had a reservation for 8:30am in Parker, CO. It was then changed to the Counyline location bacause they didn't have the 17' truck there which was way out of my way. I got there at 8:00am and got the key but my assigned truck was boxed in. I had to wait until 9:00am for them to move it. Otherwise, great truck, it drove amazing well.

I was helped by a young man wh ok was the first to arrive. Your national phone center booked an 8am reservation. The store doesnt open until 9. The young man must have been a manager, I cant recall his name. He saw me, talked to me, realized I had been waiting an hour and promptly took care of it. The service was great. My truck was cleaned and well maintained, except for the headlights not facing the road. Probably hard to notice on a checklist but it put me in a very dangerous situation in the last leg of my trip. I was trapped on a busy highway surrounded by semi trucks going 30mph because I had no way to see. Luckily i made it off the highway and parked for the night.

We lost an I-phone either in the truck (a quick inspection upon return didn't turn it up) or outside of the truck (it could have jumped out of its holder as the wearer jumped down out of the truck); the only other person besides the man who checked it in was the boy who began cleaning the truck as we walked away.

The truck was changed in the last minute from a 20 feet to 15 feet long plus a trailer. In the end a had to accommodate everything into the 15 feet truck and cancel the trailer. For me towing a trailer by 1200 miles would be difficult. Rest was ok.

I had signed up to check out the truck using my phone. When I got there it told me to go get a truck that was not on the app. I went and asked a sales representative and he did not know what to do. He called on the radio and they told me to go inside. I then proceeded to wait in line for 10 minutes until I read on the phone that I could click “can’t find truck.” I then did that and thought I got through everything but it gave me a weird message at the end. I then went to a sales representative in the lot and he didn’t know what it meant. He told me to go inside. This took 20 minutes to get to the front of the line. When I was done I went and was going to talk with the GM and stood right in front of him until he stopped his previous conversation. He then proceeded to ignore me and pick up the phone. At that point I was so frustrated by the staff at the store that I left. The easy answer is to train the staff in how a new tool works.

I was unable to get gasoline for the vehicle before I dropped it off, but since I only drove it 17 total miles I assumed that at the $4.00 per gallon I was quoted I would only be looking at an extra $10 on the bill but I was charged $22 to bring it back to that level?? Ripoff unless your truck somehow only gets 3 .25 miles per gallon. I would also note that the fuel level you show on my receipt is far below where I left it. I guess I could have taken a photo but I assumed you were a trustworthy company.

I ordered a few moving pieces of equipment and paid extra only to find they added the wrong equipment which really messed up our moving plans. In addition I wasn’t informed that the truck size I requested wasn’t available until 45 min before pickup. And even worse, for the exact same price I could NOW get a smaller truck. The lady on the phone sounded almost happy telling me I would still be charged the same price. You can imagine how relieved I was not to be charged less for a smaller truck! It wasn’t great all the way around but at least the folks were nice. Also the confirmation number texted to my cell was the road side assistance number who seemed rather surprised when I called trying to confirm my reservation! Hopefully others will have better experiences then we did this time. Lots to improve on.

When I got to UHaul to pick up my 20 foot truck that I had reserved AND paid for weeks in advance, several different employees pointed me around the parking lot without actually helping me. After I searched the entire lot, I realized that not only was my truck not there, there were NO 20 foot trucks on the entire lot. Finally someone started helping me, and I had to make do with a 15 foot truck and a small trailer. Not only was I late to meet the people who had given up their sunday to help me move, I was unable to get all of my belongings into the smaller truck and trailer. I had to make 5 or 6 return trips in my own car throughout the next week to clear out my place, wasting hundreds of dollars worth of my time and gas money. I am absolutely disgusted with Uhaul. When I went to return the truck to the site I had selected ahead of time, there was no one there, no one answered my phone, and it was another disaster. I called customer support the next day and made my complaint and they assured me a manager would call me within the next 72 hours to discuss my refund and this DID NOT happen. I will be opening a small claims suit against Uhaul if my full paid amount is not reimbursed immediately for this disaster of a moving experience.

We have rented U-hauls many times. This was the first that we used this location. This location was extremely busy. Parking was a nightmare. We waited in line for almost an hour to get our rental. Two things stood out to me: 1. After you finish your check-in, you are asked to wait outside. You have no idea where you are supposed to go or who you are supposed to be looking for. I found this to be bizarre. 2. The U-Haul websites promises that anything you rent/buy online will be in the truck that you pick up. DOUBLE CHECK. Unfortunately, I didn't. I drove all the way home to realize that they hadn't put anything that I rented/bought in the truck (furniture pads, dollies, etc.). So, I had to make the trip all the way back to the store, which cut into my rental time. They didn't offer anything except a disingenuous apology for my time or the extra gas spent to make the additional trip. Disappointing.

Used for 1st time and had a few hiccups. #1: Taking a selfie and pic of license for approval to get key code access-Approval process for key password took about 7-10min which seemed long. I messaged the customer service rep on the app while waiting because I thought maybe my app got stuck in "approval pending" status. #2: Renting Equipment- I rented an appliance dollie. It was not in the truck. Should it have been since it was an "app pickup," or "non-counter" pickup? I found a Uhaul employee and told him I was missing it. He was very helpful and got me one. While getting the appliance dollie for me, he noticed I had a 10' truck, which brings me too...... #3: He informed me that my truck model has no ramp for a dollie. It would have to be lifted in-I booked my rental on your app. I am not super educated about moving trucks. Application suggestion would be to have a "red bold tag line" under the equipment rental options or truck model options that discloses "Not all trucks have ramps. If you need a ramp make sure you select correct truck model." Overall, I will definitely rent there again. However, I may go to the counter instead of using the app. I thought the app could save me time, but in the end maybe just doing it the "good old fashion way"(at the counter) is still the way to go!

I was sent to this location from a sister company of U-HAUL (STORQUEST) where I had reserved a 10' truck. I specifically asked to have the truck ready in that location, since I was storing my items there and needed to drive from Denver to Frisco, TX (Dallas) in two days on a very tight schedule. I flew in from Europe to do this. When I arrived, I was told that my reservation was bumped to this new location, with no explanation as to why. When I asked for the truck to be driven to me at STORQUEST, I was told that this was not U-HAUL's policy. I had to pay an Uber to take me to the new location. When the paperwork was being filled out at this new location, I was asked for the exact address where I was taking the truck. I provided an address in Frisco, TX (Dallas). Somehow on the form, my return location was listed as Fresno, TX (Houston). When I finally got this truck back to STORQUEST, I was two hours behind my planned schedule. I had to drive in the dark for several hours to get to Amarillo, TX and stop for the night. I would not have had to do this if U-HAUL had not made this bafflingly stupid change to my reservation. U-HAUL employees told me, "This happens all the time."

Upon return there was 4-5 trucks ahead of me checking in the attendant told me to leave the paper work in the truck and he would get to it. The pick up location was very good. I have a suggestion for your 26’ trucks, put blocks that can be moved to accomidate the raised wheel wells. 3 blocks per well to be left with truck. You could set legs on the wells and move blocks to keep level. I might not rent a u haul truck because of. those wheel wells. Though i did make my own blocks and it worked well. This did cause me to spend that time. Secondly you need to install a aftermarket cruse control on the smaller trucks, a small cost to keep me from a very difficult drive country in your smaller truck. Other carriers I believe have cruse on all trucks. About 100-150 and install cost would do it and would notbe something to keepme from renting a u-haul truck. Just a thought.

The location for equipment pick-up was changed by U-Haul the day before the rental. While a text message was sent to communicate the change, U-Haul should know that the day before a move can be quite hectic, and text messages can be unheeded or misunderstood when read quickly. The website said I could save time by pre-paying for the rental. When I got there, they couldn't complete my reservation apparently because I had pre-paid. It took a full hour to get it resolved with four charges to my credit card. I would otherwise rate this location as excellent, but this experience was terrible and put me behind schedule. The assistance hooking up the trailer was, however, great.

Your online reservation process doesn't work super great, I ended up having to go into the location to "reserve" the truck then when I picked up the truck I had to provide all the information again!

Very quick and easy drop off. My only complaint is, when I contacted them to notify of a delay in my return date - they very very nice and friendly extending the return date. However, I was not notified that I would be charged $20 per day, or an additional charge for the insurance, or the extra $20 Colorado road fee. The $20 charge makes sense, but the other added fees should have been clearly disclosed when I called.
