The gentleman that hooked my trailer up for me acted like he wanted to punch me in the face. The other gentleman who generated my contract put his phone in my face and took my photo as part of the process. I thought that was odd. I have rented countless times with uhaul and cannot recall this ever happening. I'll look into it. Menacing staff. Except for the really nice gentleman who was there to receive the trailer once I returned.Donald K.
Accept responsibity when your equipment causes damage to the client's property. I've decided to take my business elsewhere. Uhaul was responsible for the damage to my motorcycle. I no longer consider myself a regular customer. I will never use Uhaul again. Don't worry, I have pictures.EDWARD M.

Guys who work the trucks have gotten much worse. 3/4 trucks are dirty. I've had the cargo portion be locked without a key. I've had two trucks back smell like urine. I've had one cab smell like urine. I've had one back with dirt all inside. 1/3 smell like weed. 100 % are dirt in the cab, meaning leftover wrappers snd cup holders you don't want anything you own to touch. Today one cup holder came off bc it's been opened.Gabriel C.

Walk through the starting of the van with the customers. I have to go back and forth with the attendants to start the equipment. I finally realized that I have to start the engine by holding on the black extension.CHIAMAKA O.
When I picked up truck, the gas was below empty, on fumes. Hoping I would make it to gas station!! Crazy!! When i returned it, they wanted me to pay a $60 surcharge for gas. Crazy2!! Thank goodness I took picture of gas gauge when i picked up. I rented for a week initially and wanted to rent longer. Called the day that I was supposed to turn back in. LeBrea location didn't pick up in the morning initially ( I understand it was beginning of day and they were busy). Got transferred to two other people I think they said it was the district office. First person seemed to be in bad mood. Then she transferred me to another person who said I didn't return truck and I extended my charge would be $40 a day instead of $20. Very short with me. The question I had for all representatives is how much was i paying daily rate. I knew that would vary depending on milage and gas. I just wanted to know daily basic rate. I got from the person a LeBrea location essentially " I don't know, I cant give you that info because it is calculated by Uhaul and I don't know". They couldn't or wouldn't give me the daily rate to expend. Even though I could have used truck at least a few more days and even a week, I walked away and returned the truck because of all the confusion. Not a good way to run a business. The district office I would think would be better but they were even worse. Whoever owns this franchise or business is loosing money.Mark H.

Filthy location, floors were cracked and bulging causing items on the cart to fall off from turbulence. There was a person iving in the unit behind mine. Will never rent at this location again. Arrived at 6:50 (10 minutes before closing time) and the associate running the store at the time had closed the doors and turned off all the lights inside. He basically made me pry the front door open while standing there looking annoyed and staring at me. When returning the vehicle, going to the link that was sent to my email told me to return the U-Haul to a different store, which I did, however after returning it and giving the keys to the clerk and starting the return process the online app would not let me complete the return because it wanted me to return it to the location I received it from. After contacting the U-Haul general support number to make sure I would not be charged extra for dropping off the U-Haul at a different location (which the email link told me to do), support told me it should be all set. I called the original location of the U-Haul to make sure I was really all set and they told me "I don't care what the app says, you have to bring it back to my store". So after dropping off the U-Haul where I was told to, going home, waiting on the support line for 20 minutes for service, AND confirming with them I would not be charged more, I had to go back to the location of drop off, ask for the keys back, drive it 20 minutes to the location I received it at and pay for an Uber back to my car. Had I not confirmed with two different sources that both work for U-Haul I would've had to pay however much the fine is for not returning the U-Haul at all.Constantinos G.

The truck smelled like sumbody was living in it...there was food stains all over the all over the car...center arm rest had marijuana debris all over it...the staff hung up in my face...called me a child becuase I was upset with the condition of the rental. I would never and Im a going to file a claim for my money back. Worse experience ever...Breonte D.

Be sure that the U-Haul removes any left over locks on your truck before it leaves the lot. I rented a truck and was unable to pack it, as planned, due to a lock leftover from the prior renter. U-Haul should have removed it before making it available to rent. It delayed my moving plans unnecessarily.Terron P.
TRASH! The woman at the counter was beyond rude. She did not give me the information I needed to return the vehicle. The UBox I ordered and was told was ready was not. I was told it would be ready first thing in the morning but it was not there at noon. I was told that the person who could drive the forklift had just left for a 2 hr. break. I had to turn in the truck and store my belongings at that time, so I had to lease a regular storage unit which was almost $100 per month more. I called the owner and made formal complaints, but nothing.tangela B.

The only complaint is the fuel was below the empty line when I picked it up. I'm sure, like myself, customers that rent Uhauls don't want to worry about running out of gas in a huge and unfamiliar vehicle right away.JEFFREY D.
Rent Uhaul computer record shows 1057xx odometer, told them I am driving 20 miles. They handed me key (singular) to the 20', no key to the lock they put on the back. Got to where I need to go they asked me to drive back so they can give me the keys? I said no I am cutting locks off unless you send someone where I am at with Tim next 15 min (that is how far I was even when driving Uhaul). Customer service guy said that is fine it is our fault for not checking first. I pick up gym equipment, drop it off at U.S. Vets building and returned the truck at 3:40PM. The odometer shows 105550. They had the audacity to insist on charging 40 miles, I refused and insist they come out to check odometer. Walking back to office area my ride was following me back, he saw this customer service guy pull a gun out of his gray car. Though in the end they charge what I said 20 miles when technically I don't have to, prove to me I drove even 2 miles. The fact I have to go through all this, and his racist attitude by pulling a gun out of his car thinking I will cause something when everything is YOUR FAULT??? 1 star is too good for this place. BTW I kept my receipt and took a picture of odometer after I return the car, I've got proof!!!MIKE L.

The was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had not only with U-Haul but with any retail/rental establishment in my life. Not only was the U-box I reserved not available, I was told the only person who could drive the forklift and get it for me "Just left on a 2 hr. break". I was told it would be ready in the morning and I went at noon. The woman at the counter initial Retta was rude and nasty with a bad attitude. When I went in to return the vehicle and let her know that I had a U-box reserved, she abruptly cut me off mid-sentence and loudly demanded, "Did you check in?", I tried to speak, and she asked the same question again. When I explained that it was my first time at that location and I did not know what the procedure was, she continued to demand if I had checked in. As if, she could not give me further information unless I had checked in. I told her that was what I was trying to do and held up the paper work. She waved her hand that I had to check in-I assume she was pointing to some direction, but it was not clear. I told her I had not seen any signs explaining the procedure, she said, "they are all out there". So I walked out and saw signs on the far side of the lot. I could have just turned left out of the store door, had she told me, but I didn't know. So I walked to the end of the lot and followed the green signs around the lot to the check in area. There, I was told about the absent, U-box. A young man named Christopher took me inside to the counter to speak with Edwin. Who confirmed there was no U-box. I explained that I had tried to tell, Retta, but she was rude, cut me off and would not listen to me. At at that point, Retta started talking over me (even though she was with another customer and down the counter and I was talking to Edwin) She loudly continuiously chanted, "Oh I'm rude, she said I'm rude, well your're rude, oh I'm rude huh? I'am rude, she said I'm rude) on and on for at least 15 minutes. All the while, Edwin was trying to call another location to find available storage. Eventually, she left the counter. I had to people with me who only had a short amount of time to help me unload into my missing Ubox and check in the truck. With all the confusion, it took too long and I had not choice but to take any available storage unit at this location, so that I could unload the truck and my helpers could be on their way. I ended up having to pay for a storage space that is $199 per month. That is almost $90 more than a U-box! Then, with the delay, we still had to unload the truck and turn it in. It was a disaster and took much longer than it should have. Retta was horrible and has not people much less customer skills. There was no manager there to resolve the situation. When I called the manager the next day. He simply said, "I will speak to her". I am beyone upset about this. I feel taken advantage because I had to take the only thing available to me, since what I ordered and was promised I called the 800 number that morning to reconfirm it would be there when I arrived. So I'm stuck with paying more per month. This is just wrong. How can U-Haul do this to customers and treat customers this way?Tangela B. | Premières impressions

I was able to make a reservation for a van but I end it up getting a pickup. I also booked a dolly in order to move furniture and this was not available. What you can improve?! EverythingMarco L.
My partner and I spent the day moving. We came to this location to drop items off in storage. We arrived at 6:30pm. This location closes at 7pm. Upon arrival, Luis â€œassistedâ€ us. Things seemed to be going okay up until we were provided our entry key. Luis asked us for $189 when our first month was supposed to be free given we used a truck one-way. After we informed him our reservation confirmed our first month was to be free, he was not sure how to proceed. He called his supervisor who attempted to walk him through how to correct the issue to no avail. The supervisor instructed him to have us check in by phone since he couldn't fix it, which we couldn't do because whatever he did caused us to show we were already checked in. He then told us our reserved unit was not available and attempted to give us a smaller unit; however, the smaller unit did not qualify for the month of free rent. He called his supervisor again who advised him to charge us, and she would refund the money at a later time. By 7:30pm, we were still not checked in. Luis proceeded to walk out of the office and told his coworker and us that his ride was waiting outside for him for close to an hour and had to go. He left us and his coworker in the middle of his messy transaction with no resolve. His coworker, later identified as Mark, contacted their supervisor for additional assistance and was finally able to get the situation rectified. We did not have to pay the first month's rent, and we moved into the unit size promised in our reservation. Even though it wasn't his issue and could have walked away also, Mark stayed with us until a resolution was found. He provided excellent customer service, and after a long day of moving, we appreciated his efforts. 5 stars for Mark and his dedication, and 1,5 stars for Luis since he abandoned us and Mark in the middle of a difficult situation. I can understand needing help and not knowing how to do something, but what Luis did was not professional and not okay.Viola O.

I received mu u-haul truck rental with the right tail light broken with the glass pieces still all over the fender. I took photos just in case they were to blame me for it. the fuel gauge on the paperwork was also not accurate. the printed fuel level vs actual was way off.also took a photo of the fuel gauge. upon returning my rental truck, they were charging me for fuel surcharge even though I filled it up. it took almost half an hour of disputing about the surcharge despite my photo evidence. a supervisor had to be called from her break to negate the situation. there was only one attendant at the return line, that was so much delay on its ownVALENTINE R.
My reservation was for 12:00. I arrived precisely at that time and waited about 15 minutes in line, actually starting the van at 12:25. I was told there is a one hour grace period for returns. I returned the vehicle at 1pm the following day and was charged for a second day. Once I explained my start time they credited back the day but I should not have had to do that.Mike R.

I reserved a 17ft truck, 2 furniture dollies, and a refrigerator dolly. I was downgraded to a 15ft truck without notice even though there was a 17ft truck at the location. They said it was "probably" reserved by someone else, even though I made my reservation 18 days in advance, customer service just shrugged their shoulders and didn't bother looking into it. Then the dollies I reserved were no longer available. They gave me one furniture dolly, and again, just shrugged their shoulders. When I asked for a utility dolly instead, I was told the 5 used dollies on the floor were for sale. Again, shrugged shoulders and a "too bad, so sad, it's not our problem" attitude. So apparently making advance reservations with U-haul at this location means absolutely nothing.Anthony S.

The auto transport was not well maintained. The trailer brake was not set right and every time I stopped it felt as As if I was being rear ended. The first 5 miles the safety chains came off and were dragging due to the employee not hooking them up right.Justin M.
