My initial booked trunk was given away without letting me know. Customer service did not make sense as to why. Said the emailed me a day before to let me know it was no longer available like what is wrong? I had to use the biggest trunk which was so big and scary, mind you, I initially wanted to get the medium, second to their smallest trunk. I was also told it was easy to drive like a car. I felt like I was actually driving a gas tank or almost a train, it was so big and heavy, honestly this has to be the most dangerous thing I have ever done in my life. My big point of contention is that the truck only had a 1/4 tank when I got it. The truck should be full and I should return it to you full. It's near impossible for me to return the fuel to you at the same amount and you almost end up winning cause I'll overfill it in order to not get charged for under filling it. Seems like a really cheap and lazy way to squeeze an extra few bucks outta customers. Also, when I rent a truck and as for appliances, the appliances should be loaded on the truck already. Do not allow Canadian customers to book a 6x12 trailer with no ramp when it isn't available in Canada. The 6x12 with ramp weighs about 500 lbs more than the 6x12 without ramp. This is important when booking as one needs to consider towing capacity.alanna T.

I had a very positive rental experience at this location. The staff were very helpful, smiling. The truck was so clean it was like new and the full tank was nice as well. Ryan Hanson was who helped us and he was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful with our truck rental and storage rental. I'm extremely satisfied with using Uahul. Had to park my personal car a block away, then they didnt even start the van I was renting, it was -31 outside. I had to go back to my car and get a snow brush, it hasnt snowed in 3 days and they couldnt even be bothered to brush the snow off or even supply a brush and scraper. Oil light was on and left turn signal was burned out. All in all, seemed pretty darn lazy to me to not even get the vehicles they are renting ready for customers. reserved a uhaul for 7:30 am, drove to the pickup location and waited for about 30 minutes until i was finally able to talk to someone who said someone messed up my reservation and i wasn't able to get a truck until 10am when i had people waiting at my house to help me move for 8am. the customer service agent was incredibly rude, i asked to speak to someone with manners. he told me he would cancel that reservation and make me a new one. he made me a new one for 30 minutes away from my house which wasted an hour of my time. he did not cancel my original reservation because uhaul called me at 10:30 am asking where I was and why I wasn't picking up the truck from the first reservation. when we finally got a truck 30 minutes away, it died on us twice and i had to get my step dad to drive 45 minutes out and come boost us. when i went to return the truck at the end of the day i was charged for two days when i only had the truck for a couple hours. Shawn at the Inkster location sorted the entire thing out and refunded the charges and charged me for what we used instead which was great but overall, very terrible customer service and just service in general.KIANA D.

1. When we arrived in the uhaul parking lot, there was no direction as to how to find our vehicle - the contactless pickup indicated we should drive around till we found it. Which, we ultimately did - in a parking lot across the street, in a line of parked uhauls. 2. We have to follow a whole bunch of nuisance steps, including receiving a phone call to confirm your identity, taking selfies, and scanning licenses. This is all presumably so that your pickup can be contactless and you can be verified virtually. 3. When we selected that we found it, we then had to drive back to the actual uhaul building and go inside to get the keys. This effectively makes your contactless pickup pointless. It is not contactless if I have to enter the building. 4. We then have to drive back to the other parking lot and now take photos of the truck before we can move it. The truck, however, is wedged in a line up of trucks and it's impossible to take the photos. Additionally, you can only upload one photo when it asks for mileage and gas gauge photos, and you cannot delete one once you've uploaded. They do not make this clear, at all. 5. Upon returning the vehicle, they ask you to share your location so the truck can be located. Then they ask you to get out and take a photo so "the next family" can find it. I never received a photo of where my truck was parked, so clearly this isn't being used for that. Additionally, I parked under the return awning - the truck will be moved before it's given to another person. 6. Uhaul advertises 99 cents per KM. When you book, it asks for a KM estimate - mine ended up totaling around $55 (truck cost plus kms). However, when you submit the final information, it is now in miles as this is what their trucks are in - so despite driving exactly what I anticipated in KM, the price was actually higher as they charge you in miles. I ended up with a bill for $78. This is straight up false advertising - if you are going to use miles to calculate the final cost, then your "99cents per km" marketing strategy should be reflected in miles, so that it is an accurate representation of cost and expectation. If uhaul did not have what is basically a monopoly in the moving truck field, I'd say you'd be way better off finding business elsewhere.Tanner F.

Night manager was rude, accused me of being in the wrong packet and when confronted about her accusation after threatening me that all my stuff need to be taken out of the locker she refused to apologized and said " I will never apologize to a person like you"! I picked up the 15' mover at 7am only for the gas to be at completely empty. When I went to the front desk they told me they would reimburse me if I brought it back at a quarter tank. Which didn't solve the issue of me having to go outside in -35 degree weather to put fuel in the truck before I could even start the long process of moving. I called uhaul and they told me I'd get 85$ back if I brought it back with a quarter tank. I returned on time with a quarter tank and they tried to give me 30$ to reimburse me when it takes 45$ to fill it to a quarter. After getting an unwelcoming attitude from the front desk workers I had to contact the general manager. He was able to quickly solve my problem reimbursing me the 45$ I put in the truck. It was a very unnecessary stress I had to be put through that could've been easily resolved if they refilled the trucks before They let people rent them out.Felipe A.

I feel sorry for them when a customer has to wait while another customer tries to pay and it is not the customers fault the charge does not go thru. The auto billing system needs some work as well. Right after pickup while driving away, I noticed terrible wheel alignment issues. I immediately called to get another vehicle. Sorry, they told me. I had to call roadside assistance. The problem was not resolved and the vehicle was driven 1400 miles compensating for a pull to the right. Drop off was excellent in Toronto. My advice would be to test drive the truck before accepting it and to do it early in the day so there would be time to remedy the situation. I picked up in the evening and no suitable arrangements could be made before leaving the next morning after packing the vehicle.BRIAN B.

Waited a long before anyone enteted the building to serve me. Handicapped and no chair nearby had to hobble entire bldg to sit. When staff came they were very polite and even brought the chair to their window to serve me. Line up gathered behind me so you need more staff. Informed the room I rented was accessible by truck but was not so that was a negative. Had to unload on cart and unload again inside facility. Did not want that. There were no lighting inside the individual units and made it difficult to see inside. Secondly when renting a vehicle there were some hidden fuel charges the staff member imposed on the customers after returning the vehicles even though you have topped up the gas. Thanks the facility itself was ok I wanted a 10x10 storage unit The girl wouldn't allow me to have it Had a huge argument with the manager bc when I rented the truck we had issues and were late returning but was called and threatened with they would call the police on me if I didn't return it NOW. This is my first time renting a storage unit on Inkster Blvd because I need a storage space to place my stuff since I don't have a ton of space in my basement. It was easy to navigate to get to especially they have free carts available inside the Bay Area near the entrance door for you to use if you have heavy things that you can't take it all the way down to your storage. Overall this place is clean and each storage units have individually alarm system so that you wouldn't have to worry losing your belongings for 24 hours and 7 days a week at anytime! I booked a storage unit transfer on February 22 2021 to a smaller unit via telephone. I requested a unit close to the one I was in as I had noticed quite a few empty units available in my requested size of a 5 x 10. I also noted when I made the reservation that I could not move until March 1st in the am. When I arrived I was told I was being charged $215 for the 10 x 10 because I WAS LATE paying the storage fee!!!! He told me I needed to "PAY ON TIME" and that was why I was being charged the 10 x 10 unit fee!!!! This was very upsetting considering I had made these arrangements prior and was not able to move on the 28th. I was then placed in a unit CLEAR ACROSS THE BUILDING rather than closer to my present unit. I did this move alone and with bad hips. There were many empty units available that were much closer to unit 600 ( 10 x10) that I was in. I went back to the office and asked why I wasnt given a unit closer and I was told they were all booked!! I'm very disappointed in the service and my experience wasnt helpful or pleasant. I called uhaul yesterday to inquire on my unit fees for April 2021. I was told I have a credit of 80$ and my fee would be an additional 80$!!! 5 x10 is 129 a month! It doesnt add up. Customer service is excellent and I found this place with more advantages for me than the last storage I had. The price is one of the best for the service I am getting. I do love that the facility has automatic doors to park the car when I visit my storage. Also, I like the facility interior colours, almost all white, everything looks clean and welcoming. I have used several other storage facilities in the City before. U-Haul storage is by far the best. Other places have been dirty, had mice and water problems.
