MICHELLE TI was slammed a $50 late fee for late monthly payment which is neck breaking. Other storage facilities will charge $10 but Uhaul is totally crazy. My credit card expired and they went behind me to get my debit card which I had used for truck rentals without my knowledge. That alone push my card into an overdraft. That was absolutely terrible

KAILYN MWhen I dropped the truck off a day earlier the help was excellent. Employee quickly came out to the truck, and I was able to be on my way. Prior to the truck drop off I brought a trailer back to this location a day after I agreed to bring the trailer with my rental truck to assist UHaul on a need for container trailers in that area. It had on my return slip, return trailer to Hyattsville MD. I would think it would be the same location as where the truck would be returned in a few days later, however I was sent from this location to another UHaul location out of Hyattsville to 9800 Martin Luther King Jr in Lanham MD. The folks at this location were helpful but it was short staffed, and employee had to even call UHaul to get details on me dropping off the truck. I waisted at least 1 1/2 hours between both locations waiting for service and driving between locations.
DAVID LPeople who aren't familiar with using U-Haul and understanding the terms or patience to explain is sad. I will a donated way of delivering system.

JALIK BThe team there was very nice and assisted me on directing the car up onto the car transport- however, I had to back it down and they had to adjust something and I believe it damaged my car as I have wires handing off and one of my extra lights is no longer working....I tried to call the Uhaul support number and they were unable to help since it was the day after I returned it. If someone could please reach out to me with steps on resolving this issue,

She went above and beyond in helping me thru the process and answered all my questions. My family and I had a long day and now had to unload a 15 Foot UHaul truck into our storage unit . NEVILLE CI rented a cargo van for a few hours that was defective. When I reported that it was lurching when going over 50 mph to stagnant then the manager , he said he would check it out and give me a discount. I told him I didn't feel safe in the vehicle and was happy I made it back I. One piece. The staff person said it was one of their new vehicles and hadn't tested it beforehand. Then next day I got my bill, no discount! Just lip service. I'm done with UHAUL. I felt unheard and that they didn't care that the equipment was faulty. And by the way, the manager didn't even bother to go outside and check while I was there or call me after he "inspected" it, which I highly doubt he did.

All advance notification and necessary steps were completed for the move out day (before the monthly renewal). I was still charged the amount for renewal even after being ensured that I completed the full checkout at the service desk. I attempted to call every hour on Sunday and nobody picked up until I called at almost 3:30 pm. Service rep stated that he forgot to check me out and proceeded to check me out. Like I said previously, I gave a 5 day advanced notification, rented a truck and moved out everything in a timely manner and was still charged after being ensured I wasn't. This charged caused a minimal yet substantial inconvenience onto my family. I understand there may have been a high volume of customers that day, but I utilized uhauls service for accuracy and ease of mind. I will consider alternate companies for any future moves…

And, I tell everyone to go to 3900 Whitetire Road for all their moving and storage needs. Don, Rosa, Dominique, and all the staff are the best. I rent trucks frequently and have had several long-term storage rentals. The staff are always professional, welcoming, pleasant, and helpful. Don, the General Manager, is very approachable and accommodating. I recommend this location.

The online people ended up giving me the wrong type of storage unit and the ladies at the front checked it out for me, realized it, and got some of my rent knocked down since I didn't get the size I was paying for, they were super helpful and nice as could be. The place was sooo clean and loved how many carts they had for moving help. This experience was great and I will definitely be using U-Haul storage in the future for all my storage needs. Loved it.

But because of this I incurred significantly more charges with the movers because of them having to repack the truck,go to a different location unload again! So I was very unhappy!!

Joseph W | Expérience générale1. I was shocked disappointed, and angry to learn that there were no elevators. How irresponsible is that of Uhaul. 2. When booking the truck I told the representative that I had a 1 bedroom. When arriving at Lanham/Bowie, I discovered that the representative was wrong. My items did not fit the storage selected. 3. There was only one person serving customers and his customer service was horrible. He had a get me out of here, no personality attitude. When I asked for a larger unit he informed me that there was no larger unit, but also told me that he had no way of finding out if another facility had a larger space. Ironically, when I found another location I was told that Uhaul does have a system that allows reps to check for space openings at other locations. So the rep lied to me. 4. I was late returning my truck the next day because I had to do my own research and find other people to unload me. I'm very disappointed in the final posseS of Uhaul. I'd like the overage for the late return to be refunded to me.

Don went ABOVE AND BEYOND the normal call of duty to be expected as an employee and really made things incredible for me after a long stressful day of moving and traveling. Give that man a RAISE. He's easily got to be one of your best employees.
JONATHAN M | Premières impressionsOur move in experience was horrible, problematic, and exhausting on January 29, 2021, at approximately 6:15 PM when we discovered the main entry storage doors were locked. This was in conflict with the Storage Access hours of 5 AM to 10 PM as published on the U-Haul Standard Advantages for the facility. Items had to be moved through a single entry door instead of the various wide double doors at the loading dock. We were told upon move in that we should not be moving in at this time which was in conflict with the published time listed on "Your Storage Place of Landover" nor any other guidance or guidelines, verbal or non-verbal. Generally, it appears to be a lack of consistency of communication among all staff to customer for a smooth transition into the facility which was ultimately resolved through management or by others means.
Paul W | Premières impressionsMy first unit had rodents and moisture, which damaged many of my belongings. I filed a claim, but was ignored. I was moved to a nicer unit, which has worked out well. So my poor experience was offset by my great experience. Hence the average rating.

For the most part, I am satisfied with the service provided although shorter wait times when calling and not having mice droppings on my belongings would have improved the experience. Also, having a pro-rated refund would have been nice rather than paying a full month for less than 10 days.

SABRINA S | Premières impressionsI should start off by acknowledging the one disappointment - the ubiquitous rat/mouse poop I would find scattered throughout my unit upon returning every 6~12 mos, That said, Meri Payne is a FANTASTIC facility manager. She has always been attentive and accommodating. It's hard to imagine a facility manager more generous and more capable. I always felt my belongings were safe and the facility was well-run AND I could depend upon her if I had an issue. Thank you, Meri!!

What a great feeling on a hot Saturday morning when you're contemplating a move. Ms. Merci has excellent customer service and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this UHaul site.

This facility is very unsafe and very inconvenient. I tried several times calling the after hour general manager over at Landover to have her assist me and the phone just went to voicemail. She never answered the phone so had I not figured out how to get in the unit I would have had to take my items back home and this was a two hour ordeal. This is only a two-story facility which means there is no elevator I had to walk around the outside of the building three times and up a flight of stairs to get to my unit . I was very unhappy last night

After several months of housing my property with Uhaul, It was time to move out when I opened my unit to find mice ,mice droppings and their urine all over my property. Spoke to a representative about it and he said uhaul can't do anything about my property- Despite the guarantee of safe guarding my property from Rodents! That's unacceptable!

The staff was very friendly, I was greeted as soon as I entered the facility. I was undecisive on which storage I needed but with the help of two gentleman (Don & Eduardo) they made the process smooth by offering me a climatized storage unit. I am happy on my decision and until now never knew such a storage existed. If you are in the market for a storage unit I would highly recommend this location.
