Nice and friendly atmosphere
BILLIE BThis location will charge you for gas by the mileage. No one informed me that there was going to be an additional charge for gas usage. I rec'd the truck on a quarter of gas. I replaced the gas back to the quarter gas mark and upon completion of the drop-off, I was charged an additional $28 for the mileage. I reached out and still has not heard from anyone, I rented and returned on Friday 03-07-2024.

Charita WNo inspection of either purchase (the truck screamed as gas applied).. lots of push back from the manager about why I did not see a link that was not sent to me very unhelpful manager .. I asked a previous customer can they help me and they were kind to provide support - The manager said "I will just refund your payment" after I had a truck full of furniture and a car that needed to be towed. That was the start of the trauma I endured on my move to another state using this service ... never again.
FREDERICK DBest practices is not to assume the customer is familiar with U-Haul. The return after hours provess was confusing. It would have been nice if it was explained more in depth. Overall I would recommend this location because it's convenient & staff was pleasant

DAVID LThe uhaul that I rented was raggedy as ever. It seemed like the transmission would give out at any moment. Some type of metal plate in the back came loose making it difficult to put things inside and scared to fall though. The associate that I dealt with was really nice though.

When I rented the truck I could hear 3 employees laughing about how half the trucks are leaking fuel and oil and they weren't going to service them. Super unprofessional atmosphere. Then I drive the truck for an hour and it blows up. It took over 3 hours for someone to come say yeah this truck is done for. Then another 2 hours for a tow truck to come. I then put in a dispute for the general manager to contact me in 3 days. I have not been contacted. I called the location for a lady to say yeah they aren't here I'll let them know and guess what still no call. I have been telling everyone I know about the horrible experience and to never use this service.

AMANI PIt takes too long at the counter if you check-in there. Same information is requested as given when rented on-line. But customer service at this location is very nice and accommodating.

BERNICE TPick up went great. Gentleman who checked us in went above and beyond!!! On the return it was terrible. It was very cold I had lost my cell phone on that day. So I could not use the app for return. The younger guy working at the 6888 East Pendleton Pike Location. Needs better work ethic. I arrived for return. His exact words were you'll have to use the app to return. Because we are getting ready to close and I aint trying to do any more work. To me that is not good customer service. And very unprofessional. I will not use this location again.

SCOTT SPlease have them check ALL equipment before arrival. I had to go to another U-Haul place to get the trailer because the electrical cord had been cut which made the trailer unusable. Then when I dropped off the trailer they didn't check me as delivery of it. I got a call the next day asking if I was going to deliver it. I told him it was there on hour earlier than was scheduled. Hancock with his people and they said I HAD delivered it.

Victor T | Expérience généraleEach time that I have used a rental, the windows and windshield have been very dirty on the inside and out. Other than that the rental process was quick and smooth. Some of the vehicles can use some work. You shouldn't have to slam the driver's door multiple times to get it to close all of the way. It's okay to spend some money on your equipment.

Charges me for a 10x10 ended up giving me a much smaller storage down the street on Pendleton pike and still did not refund me the difference of what they charged and what I got. Also called today 8 times no answer, called another location they picked up on the 2nd ring. I the professionalism is far below average. I was beyond disappointed. Also I paid for a dolly that was not in the back of the truck and it stated it had 1/4 of a tank the 50 miles to empty light was on when I got in it. It was just a mess.

But I found a dead mouse in storage and some of my bags had holes in them. And on top of that the people they have at the front desk have horrible customer service, they take forever to complete transactions and have a horrible attitude most of the time. They act as if we were asking them for a favor which in reality I'm also just wanting to turn in keys or close my storage unit as fast and simple as possible. I would understand if they took forever with just one customer but no they take forever with everyone and while they're completing the transaction they're eating or talking and laughing among the other employees and to me that's just not professional. I've rented truck and units from that place before multiple times but it just gets worse!
KARINA Z | Expérience généraleThe onsite storage unit was fine if not a bit expensive. The only real trouble was when I or an employee had to use any of U-Haul's support, website, or applications. They never worked correctly for anyone in the store. Staff was always helpful and where able to work around the multiple problems, but considering it's a company issue and not a store issue I'll be avoiding U-Haul in the future.
cameron m | Expérience généraleI am very upset because when I put in my order they said I was going to get one month free storage then come to find out that that was false advertisement that I have to pay for storage this month and next month other than that you know it was okay I told the lady then I would not have enough money to get paid for the storage and pay for the truck she was very rude and said well if you don't want it we can always send it to somebody give it to somebody else and I told her that wasn't the point is that you know I had no other choice but to get the storage because I had no other place to put those little few things that I had but it's just the point that y'all say that y'all going to give a person on what month free and then when a person get there it's a whole new different l no one has even called me to apologize or let me know what's going on so that means to let me know that y'all don't care about your customers like y'all say like I said false advertisement say a person going to get a month free and then don't get a month free that's it in a nutshell

There was staff that had to inform me repeatedly that the manager was on the way. When the manager arrived she had a visible attitude and did not say a word to me, or even attempt to apologize. Then walk off. Like we were the problem or inconvenience and hadn't been waiting for an hour or forced to be late to work. I'm coo on Uhaul.

And the restroom was terrible smelling of urine ans old garbage it was unclean, no tissue, overflowing trash from the can onto the floor and the toilet was so nasty and dirty inside the bowl I didn't even use it at all. I left and went across the street to White Catsle and used their restroom.

I had no problems with U-Haul until you decided to increase the price a 2nd time in a short amount of time. If you hadn't increased the price the 2nd time, I'd probably be there even though there is a place closer to me and cheaper.

Because I took a bye out then my insurance claim wasn't good but I had insurance for two years. That's no reason my stuff should be damaged because of the vents and water leaks in the ceiling. The way the manager felt nothing she could do or insurance ppl couldn't take the claim. When I seen what happen I showed the office manager how my couches was damage. Regardless what happen I should not get the run around about this claim.

Moved from MS to IN. She's definitely a keeper. As busy as this location is she remained cool and calm at all times. U-Haul, I would recommend a substantial amount raise for your employee for you wouldn't want to lose her. For future reference I would like to ask U-Haul for a discount on any one unit in case all items do not fit since I have downsized. Thanks U- Haul for a smooth move. Thanking you in advance

Orietta D | Expérience généraleSeveral issues! I rarely complain about anything. So, here's how it went…. My pickup was 10am Sunday, Sept. 18th at the Castleton 86th St. location. A lady with glasses was rude to me. There were two people in front of me at the desk. This lady asked the couple something, but I didn't hear what she said. As I was standing there, I let her know that I had done my online pre-registration. She looked at me and said, "Well, come over here then. I asked you just a few minutes ago, but you were just standing there looking down messing with your leg." I had no idea she was even talking to me a few minutes prior. I thought she was talking to the customers in front of me. Also, she continued to be rude, Constant smirking, and short tempered. She was asking questions about my drop off location, and seemed confused because I let her know I did everything online already. She continued to treat me like I was an idiot. When she gave me the key to the truck, I asked her to walk out with me because I didn't know which one to look for. Mind you…I never rented from Uhaul before. I had no idea about the truck numbers being on the bottom. She gave me zero instructions, no suggestions, and didn't inform me about there being no moving pads available on the truck. I didn't know I had to purchase them. She also failed to tell me there were 2 Uhaul storages within a couple miles of each other, so I went to the wrong one. Helping a new customer appeared to be an inconvenience to her. When I finally arrived, the staff was friendly at the Lawrence location in Indianapolis, but….apparently, all of my information was lost, or "did not transfer to that location" so I had to give them my information all over again…..and the storage unit was a lot smaller than I needed, but I was too exhausted to go back and attempt to change units. I had to let go of a few pieces of nice furniture because they did not fit. Trust me, I packed the unit! I told the person on the phone I needed a unit for a 1 bedroom apartment. Keep in mind, I never did this before, but that's what he offered me. Nothing bigger. I don't like someone treating me with disrespect, like I'm an idiot, and not offering me any suggestions, or help. I was left to simply "figure it out". Lastly, I was charged wrong. I was over charged $77, and it should've been a free first month. I am pretty good about figuring out situations, but this experience was absolutely horrible!!!

No keypad entry, no carts for moving items. It definitely was a subpar facility for the mo they rate. It was an inconvenience and I had to rent my moving truck an additional day to secure somewhere for my belongings

My only complaint is that after being with Uhaul for 8 years and faithfully paying my storage bill even when I got behind from loss of work...I still kept up paying for my unit! But having to pay to have lock that wasn't mine removed really was a major issue! My keys were stolen from my car so I was prepared to pay to have my lock removed...but to get to my unit and see that a combination lock had been placed on my unit...tells me that this was done by Uhaul and there should have been the combination code to open the lock? So I feel that I should be refunded back the $50 seeing that I was made to pay upfront in order to even get the maintenance guy to come remove the lock! That's the only grievance that I have from being with Uhaul 8 years!

The non-chalant, short, oh well, glad it's not me, without a smile (what I perceived from body language) manager that represents U-Haul is mind blowing. There may have been many people that abused Covid as an excuse; however, that was not the case for my family and I. We really experienced "life happenings" and when we were impacted by Covid, because of what U-Haul did in 2020 we weren't eligible. I was very disappointed that I had to move an entire 10*10 unit out because I couldn't pay $125 at a later date. The manger had the ability to accept my $580 and chose not to after I had been calling leaving messages for two weeks.

I had to pay insurance fee again and was told I will be reimbursed once corporate receives urgent message. Hopefully things are handled more responsibly in the future.
