I was informed in the late afternoon before picking up the truck that the 15' truck would not be available until 5 hours after I reserved it for. They reserved a 10' truck for me instead, which caused some significant issues with our move. Then they gave me the truck with zero gas in it. I was told to put gas in it and bring it back with a quarter tank. They said I would get a "discount" for doing so. With gas being $4.00 per gallon it cost me more to do that than the discount I received for gas. Then there was an issue with the gas gauge and I put in too much gas. I had to make an issue of it all to get a fuel reimbursement and I was only reimbursed $20 of the $40 of extra gas that was in the truck. Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing U-Haul experience! I have done business with U-Haul for many years and have never had an experience that was this poor.

This location needs better employees. When getting my truck first thing in the morning I’ve waited 30 minutes for my truck. Then when it was my turn to talk to the employee he told me they double booked me so the truck and appliance dolley were not available. They gave me a 17 truck instead of a 15 and they told me the Truck was outside. No truck in sight so I tried to get into multiple trucks and could not find my truck. Went back inside and asked if someone can show me where my rental was. Second employee told me “maybe it’s out back go check there”. Didn’t even try to help me out and show me to the truck. He was just sitting looking at this phone. Went back outside and tried to start two trucks and did not work. Finally I was not in a good mood so when back inside and asked the first employee that helped me to show me where it’s at. He then pointed outside and said “that’s your truck right there” in that same location he was pointing there was literally 7 trucks and he was still sitting down until I comment back “I see multiple trucks” in an aggressive tone. Finally he got up and showed me to my truck.(if you review security footage you will see me walking around the lot twice and coming inside 3 times to try to get help). When returning the truck it was another 30 minutes for me to return it. The guy was super sluggish and had horrible customer service. Does not engage with the customer at all. Truck was at 1/4 tank when I picked it up and Brought it back a bit over 1/4 tank. Just reviewed my receipt and showed that I was charged for fuel. Only reason I reserved at this location cause it was an accident. Normally I reserve it at the north Blackstone location. I’m never coming back again to this location. Attention is needed from corporate or higher management if you guys have any intention in retaining your customers in the future.

I would like there to be a way to return a trailer outside of open hours that is secure. Right now only trucks can be returned outside of regular hours since they can be locked and the key placed in a secure box. We dropped off the trailer at 3 am and I returned at 7 am to check out, but the trailer was in the open lot in the interim. The van that was used to tow the trailer had to be used in the morning, so we couldn't wait. I didn't want to be charged an extra day if we got there late, but I wasn't. The attendant was very courteous and friendly with me on the return.

The tank at the site was a quarter tank and that is what I signed off on, but my the time I got to place 1 mile away the tank was on E. I provide the detail is the app and on a call to customer service and no refund was issued for filling the tank to that quarter mark. Pictures were provided. If I had a choice I would not use uhaul again, due to customer service nor the store knowing what to do in this instance. Provide that store locks for the gas cap , so other are not overpaying and inconveniences as I was, since Uhaul is unwilling and unable to correct mistakes after they occur.

Horrible customer service! Came in to rent a truck because mine broke down and I need it to help me move a power recliner that I bought for my Vietnam Vet father who just undergone a heart bypass surgery. The plan was to get it in to his house before his discharge which was the next day. I was second in line and had been waiting for a good 15 minutes already no one who worked there acknowledged my existence there so I went outside to let what looks like a one staff operated business know that I was there and needed a rental. He told me he will help next once he was done helping another customer sure no problem. Went back inside waited a good 10 minute went to the window and saw that he was helping a different customer who I had just saw driving in that is not ok. I went outside gave him a piece of my mind and told him that he done me wrong. Never once did he even apologize and he had the guts telling me straight to my face plus in-front of the other customer that this was not a "first come first serve" type of business so I guess U-Haul allows individuals like to tarnish the name. I been renting from U-Haul in the past and never had I experience such rudeness and poor customer service. I believe he was the owner/manager of the place since he mentioned his name to me which was also on the entrance door. This place needs some serious re-training because this is extremely extremely bad for business. I am really disappointed.

Picked up my uhaul and there was no gas. The person at the front desk told me I needed to rush to get gas right away. At 99 cents a mile and it was not on my way . I was also informed that my gas tank May leak to be careful when pumping gas because people have been known to drill holes in the gas tanks to steal gas.The guy at the front desk was great had great customer service the place is at a large disadvantage to the area it needs fencing around the facility.

The guy who checked is on was kind of rude and the gas was now correct as he told us it was so we had to pay extra in gas to get out back to where it wasn't. We didn't get the extra dolly we paid for, yeah it was refunded at return but made the move harder

No problem whatsoever check right and the minute I got there. Advised the customer service associate that helped me that's a truck ran like it's got to be something wrong It keep cutting out on the road.. especially under any kind of load. Like on a small hill and taking off from a dead stop.

We did not know the location would be closed on drop off. That is not the fault of the drop off location. However we had issues trying to return on our phone and had to call and work with personnel for a half hour. Personnel was very helpful.

When we dropped off our truck, they up charged us because the mileage was above what it was stated it would be. We had to drive to Livermore from Tracy to pick up our things because we live there, and then drive to Fresno. It was frustrating because of our experience with the first location in Tracy where we had to wait TWO hours for someone to come get us our truck, that this couldn’t just be a waved fee. Also our gas tank was filled a quarter of the way higher than when it was given to us, so again it was frustrating we even had to pay the mileage fee. We can guarantee that with our next move, we will be renting a Penske.

So when I get there to pick up the van I go into the office to do the paperwork they had me sign a paper stating to the van will be given to meet with 3/4 of a tank of gas to which the van was given to me on empty I got in the van and proceeded to go on my way right after I pulled off the lot the van ran out of gas Natalie did the manager of the store and his workers not offered to give me gas but they told me that I had to call roadside service but I just pulled the van off of their lot no more than one minute prior to this their service is very poor their customer satisfaction there they think that everything's a joke and I would not recommend this Abby store to anybody not even my worst enemy

I showed up for an appointment at 1pm to get a hitch put on my car. I had scheduled this appointment a week ago and found they did not order the parts. It’s okay though because the employee said the ones ordered were wrong and he had different parts that would work to put the hitch on. Then they told me they were very busy and had many walk-ins so they didn’t know when they would be able to get to mine. They did get started on putting my hitch on at about 1:40pm. They did not finish my hitch until 6:05pm. In my 5 hours at the store I witnessed customers not getting ANY service. No employees were in the uhaul store to help anyone. There was one point where there was 4 people in line. They waited for 20 mins before an employee entered the store from the garage to help them. I watched 2 different customers come in, wait for 10 mins then leave because no one was there to help them. During the 5 hours, All 3 employees were nearly always in the Garage area “working” on my hitch. You would think it would have taken less time since they were all in the garage and not helping customers, but no!

The manager didn't want to check the truck in, supposedly because he didn't have room to parked it. I asked him why he was checking in local trucks and not one way trucks, and he just got an attitude even after I called the regional manager and they told him to check it in, he didn't want to do it. At the end he just told me to drop the keys on the front desk. That kind of attitude make companies like uhaul loose customers. That manager needs to take some customer service classes.
