Rene BNo one informed me that I need to refuel the car and I got charged due to that. They told me the distance will cost 06$ per kilometer and I ended up paying 0'8$ per kilometer. The whole add of renting it for 19$ a day is a scam.

OCTAVIO UI love using U-Haul for its ease of use and quick follow through. It may sound strange but, this place is so popular that the original equipment I wanted was not available. What I ended up using was just fine.

MAHMOUD GMake sure your rental vehicles have a full tank of gas when you pick it up so all you need to do is fill the tank when you return it. Trying to figure out the correct amount of fuel to fill is ridiculous.
Hjalmar VNot the locations fault more there reservation department. Booked a 20 foot truck in Aug for end of Sept for a move to Vancouver Island on a long weekend. The day before i was to pick up the truck received an email that there was no 20 foot truck available so i had to take a 26 foot truck. Phoned and explained that wouldn't work, because i had ferry reservation, but was told that's all they had. Had to phone BC Ferries because now I'm considered a commercial vehicle. VERY lucky they could change my reservation. But because of their screw up in trucks it now cost me double for the ferry. Plus now i had to leave from Tsawwasseen to Duke point which is more driving time. Phoned back asking for some compensation because it was there fault and they basically said oh well that's the way it is. I told them they can't do that because it changes the reservation type and they didn't care. Received a call driving on the island from the reservation asking when i would be bringing the truck back and told them Sun afternoon. In my contract i have the truck till Mon 9am. Pulled into the lot at 315 Sun afternoon. As i was pulling in the location called asking when i would be returning the truck because it was booked for 4pm Sun afternoon. Again not the locations fault. Inquired why they would book the truck for Sun afternoon when i have the truck till 9am Mon. Added a lot more stress the day before a big move dealing with all this. This didn't have to happen if they would honor the reservation that are made for a reason. They knew it was to the Island and truck size matters but said not their problem.

EDWARD SI found the charges very deceptive. I was told the cost would be $19,95 and $0,79 a kilometer. When I receive my invoice there are charges of $1 enviromental fee and 1,5 passenger vehicle rental tax. Why the hell do you run your business like this. Very dissatified with the transaction and will be going back to the dealer to complain!!

KENNETH SWay too busy for the number of staff. Always a long wait. Nothing promised was done and had to ask multiple times for simple things like getting the items we had ordered and prepaid for. Nobody cares about your time and sends you back and forth between employees. Truck was good but the nickle and dime pricing strategy is annoying. Good / average as my expectations were low but lots of room to improve processes and training.
Jeff NI've had some issues with this location in the past, but they were absolutely excellent this time around. Good customer service. I was happy.
JOHN MI did not like receiving the truck with only a quarter tank of fuel in it. I had to go to the gas station before I could head out to my destination, wasting time. Very inconvenient. The truck also would slip into 1st gear when heading down a steep hill which was annoying.
EDMUND DThe driver's side tire on the utility trailer blew apart and shredded while I was about to cross the Port Mann Bridge. The trailer started to shake violently and I had to make an emergency pull over in an extremely small shoulder on Highway 1, just before the bridge. I was pinned against the inside shoulder waiting with my three kids while roadside assistance came out to fix the tire. Super dangerous and not at all impressed.
MICHAEL RThere was some challenging communications that happened at the return. I was of the impression the fuel was 8/16; and documentation stated it was 9/16. This WAS not clearly communicated at the time of rental, because there was a last minute change in vehicle type. I had refuelled, but had not put enough fuel in. The staff was respectful yet firm which resulted in me having to add more fuel a second time. There was also an issue with additional 19 cents that was charged on my credit card, even though no information changed from the time of rental. That was irritating. I did not want to spend time understanding the reason for the discrepancy, and the staff did not offer to investigate. At the time of picking up the equipment, the customer representative was very courteous, and helpful, and did not upcharge me for upgrading to a larger vehicle to accommodate required interior dimensions. The wheel wells made the footprint interior dimensions smaller than stated on the website.

JOERG HYou need more staff in the morning. I waited on hold for over an hour on two consecutive days. I finally drove over there and spoke to somebody in person. They said they were alone early in the morning.
Judith PWhen collecting the trailer, it was pointed out that it was still dirty (dirt and rock in the bottom) . I was not concerned about this. When returning the trailer, I was asked why the trailer was dirty. Not my problem. Thats how it was given to me. When I told the employee that's how I was given the trailer and was unhappy with his line of questioning he tried to change what he had asked to try and make out as if I misunderstood the question. No apology and just my fault. They should have first asked if everything was okay and if I was happy with the rental. I would have pointed out that the braking system on the trailer was not working correctly. Overall poor customer service and a trailer that was not working correctly.
Wayne RThe parking brake release was a bit rickety to use - could do with a bit of attention. Also, I booked the entire thing on the mobile app but still had to come and check in manually which was a bit odd. Nice staff though all round.

This rental was great value for us and we have used their service on three other occasions. We keep coming back when we need a vehicle to help us move items.

GRANT AI was impressed with team approach to addressing their quoted price difference (of about $100) to 2 men at front of line, trying to get it sorted out for one ton pickup truck. The line-up of customers got deep and, team approach, a 3rd person arrived to to keep things moving. Outside was very good too-when I came to drop off cube van, exhausted, and the person checking condition was cheerful, efficient, responsive, name started with Ja, I should have written it (give staff a business card for a "Remember me in ratings," enjoyable to do so). Solution-seeker, cheap duct tape patch on centre seat had melted to completely sticky, sticking on me and everywhere, he said he'd look-after a re repair, like, Thanks, got it, not an issue. Good rate (would have had to think of alternative for hauling green waste for the church if rate were too high), good staff. Appreciated convenience, nearby location. Had a good experience.

Errol GEverything went smoothly. I can comment that equipment descriptions are a b it lacking on the website. When I called a rep for information, he informed me that the pickup truck I rented would come complete with a trailer hitch and 2" ball, but was informed at the time of pickup that the hitch receiver was provided, but the ball would be an extra rental fee. The attendant said that all of the moving trucks came complete with ball, but not the pickup truck. Given that I rented the truck to tow a trailer, this was quite disappointing to me.
BEN FCargo van was new so mechanically sound and in very good condition. Staff there were very good, very helpful and attentive. However, at pickup there was a very long line going out of the door. At least 15 people causing a long wait to get to the counter to do what I needed to do and was advised that would still be faster than the online check-in which occasionally has issues. As well, the cabin and cargo area of the Van was dirty and exterior of the truck hadn't been washed. The staff offered to complete the cleaning but by then I didn't have time to wait longer and didn't want to take a different van as I preferred the Ford van I was given. I observed staff were inundated with that rush of pickups and returns and the cargo van inventory was very low which forced me to accept a van that was dirty. The previous year I was forced to wait an additional 2 hours for my reserved van because of low inventory and had to wait for one to be returned. As I was already late the good staff didn't have time to properly clean it and accepted a dirty van again. I believe more inventory and additional staff during these busy times could help these issues.

The technician that installed my hitch took great care to install it in a timely manner, following the installation guide, and most importantly being neat with the installation. The technician spoke to me about hitch safety and installation of the break and turn signals in the future. ARWEN SAfter receiving the truck keys, I put the gardening tools on the truck before leaving, but when I arrived at the job site, I found that the tools were missing. At noon, I returned to the store and found through video surveillance that the staff had taken it away. Without my tools, even renting a car for a day would seriously affect and disrupt my work plan, causing me to return the car early and unable to work effectively
GUI YWhen dropping of my U-Haul at the location above, I was told that I would be charged for extra miles. The only reason I had to drive extra miles is because my pick up location had been changed to almost an hour away from the home I was moving out of. The staff at U-Haul provided zero solutions and laughed at my situation when I was trying to explain why I incurred extra miles. I ended up having to pay and then file a dispute to be reimbursed. This should not have been an issue and should have been something that the staff on site should have corrected instead for laughing at my situation. A completely disgusting experience.

The new doors look flimsy and the installer broke the door jam. My concerns about the security of my locker were brushed off by the employees. I was informed the morning of my move that the van is no longer available. They switched me to the pickup truck. I called uhaul and said that I can't use the pickup truck, as it's too small for some of my furniture and it was going to pour rain all afternoon. I canceled the pickup truck (and the rest of my day was a nightmare as I scrambled to find ways to move my things) and asked for the $50 I get if my rented vehicle isn't available. The woman on the phone said that I couldn't get the $50 because they're offering me the pickup. She was argumentative and dismissive. She eventually agreed that I should get the $50 but she was rude. If you look at my file, she's the one that canceled my rental of the pickup truck. I recommend you listen to that tape.

There's ALWAYS a truck close to the storage where the staff is unloading stuff from it. Also on a side note, I once called this location from home. I was on hold for 20 minutes so I decided to drive up to the location... 15 mins later I get there, and I'm still on hold on the phone. There were no one in the office but the front desk person... he had the phone up so it doesn't ring... I'm like why don't u answer the phone... I've been on hold for like 35 mins. He's like this thing rings too much... I need a break from it... unbelievable how rude he was. I tell you, this is one of the worst managed uhaul locations U can ignore this, or do something about it. Go undercover if u have too... the level of crap your customers have to put up with in this location is unreal. Unprofessional. Do u want them carrying the uhaul name with such disrespect? How much do u respect and value ur company?

Firstly, the Uhaul Manager requests me to pay a $710,11 towing fee that I never order, and I never observe the towing service. It was extortion. The towing fee bill the not bill to Uhaul or a bill to myself. It was billed to a non-related third party, except has the truck that I rented's information. Many people rent that truck from time to time. I never request a towing service or observe a towing service. A towing service during the rental period also covered under the insurance contract as well. Uhaul has its own towing service under the contract if towing required. The Uhaul store manager said he paid the towing fee to a third party, so he needed to be charged to my account. It is unreasonable. I suggest the manager. I am afraid a third party was playing the game behind the scene for the sole purpose of financial gain. The RCMP and related organizations needs to investigate this type of Economic crime that takes advantage of the business and innocent people for the sole purpose of organized crime's financial gain.

Immediately, I had a rental van and a locker. The person behind the desk walked me to the locker, insured I knew how to enter with the cardlock..the guys helped me understand the working of the van..I really appreciate all the support and kindness ..super people work here.

It didn't get into any of my stuff after inspection, but poop was everywhere. I spoke with the manager and he didn't really have anything to say about it, very much a "what do you want me to do about it" mentality. I asked for help cleaning it up as I didn't have proper cleaning supplies and mouse poop is really dangerous for women to clean without proper protection, and the person he sent just wiped it off with a rag onto other stuff in my unit. One blanket needed to be thrown out because it was coated too much for me to feel comfortable to get it home to wash it. One lady, who was wonderful, apologized several times for it, but the manager didn't seem bothered. I moved my stuff out the next day because I had some very expensive books, furniture and linens that I cannot risk vermin ruining. The manager telling me that he'll clean the floors with peppermint oil more frequently to keep them away wasn't comforting and clearly not working.

My biggest issue is getting access onsite with a vehicle. Beings as it is a truck rental location the lot is very congested and it became highly inconvenient to gain access to the storage entry. The people onsite are very friendly but the experience became too much of a hassle to take things in and out, which I have to do from time to time. Just my experience.
