Plastic storage containers still had debris in it. Reps need to have better communication and clarity. Extending your rental isn't easy. I tried to do it and they said I had to bring it back earlier. Not very convenient.cathlen L.
the day after dropping off the car, I received two different receipts, the first one was ok, but suddenly a few minutes after that, I got a new receipt which a claim for damage on the roof for $1000. I called the store and said there is no way that damage happened by me since I just put a TV on the car and never put anything on the roof. they said you accepted the picture of clean roof and right now there are scraps on the roof. I just drove the van to pick up a TV, I am 100 % sure this damage didn't occur when I was using the Van. how it could happen and I didn't notice that. In the picture they sent me seems the scrap is in front of the car and in the picture of the car before rent which was taken from the back of the Van I barely can see details in front of the roof. The before-picture was taken in the daylight but I rented around 6:00 pm that was totally dark yesterday when I came to the store. The roof in the before-picture is much cleaner than the pictures of after-drop off, which makes it weird because I just used it for three hours how it could be so dirty just in 3 hours? For getting the Van they asked me to walk around the Van and if everything is fine, confirm the pictures, I did the same thing but how should I know that I also need to check the roof, when nobody told me to do so? How come I got two different receipts? the first one was sent at 10:55 a.m. with no damage but suddenly in the second receipt( just a few minutes later), I charged one thousand for damage. that is really ridiculous. My wife and I have been working hard for one year to save money to buy a TV for the new year and unexpectedly we got a false bill for picking it up for double the price of the TV, this got a real headache today for both of us. I had many good experiences with Uhaul in the last two years, but this experience was the worse and I can not imagine such a well know company like you wants to ruin its reputation like that.Mostafa T.

Rear lift gate of 15' truck was stuck in the closed position due to misuse. The door assembly had been opened with an excessive amount of force causing it to shift over 1â€ on the roller mounts causing the door to wedge itself when in the closed position when it was rolled down. A large amount of additional force needed to be exerted for the latching mechanism to fully close, which would have been noticed by the employee responsible for checking in the vehicle prior to being issued for rental.JONATHAN H.

Mobile pickup didn't work. The keys for the van that was available through mobile pickup were not in the lockbox. I had to wait 20 minutes for the employees to say I had been assigned a different van but it was the same van...Alexander D.

I did the check in online with my father driver license which is a professional Italian driver license, when he got at the location the said that he need to translate his driver license and they can't give him the trailer even though the police accepted many times his driver license, then I spoke with them and tried to manage with them by sending my Canadian driver license but Jinsu Mariam said she can't do the check in if I'm not there to give her my driver license in person (but actually you can do the check in online). So I hade to loose the ferry to get there and she just took 2 pictures and uploaded them on the website, which could have be done by email. Then we had to wait 45 mins because non of the trailers had working lights so we had to wait them to fix it. So my dad who was supposed to take another ferry lost his ferry too because he had to wait for the repair. Disgusting situation.Valentin T.

Used the station again for 3 time in 4 years. I was lucky they got the trailer I needed. The reason I am writing this update however is the excellent customer service by front desk agent Bernardita. She was amazing - involved, helpful, knowledgeable, quick and with great attitude. I work in the service industry and see all day people attending to customers. I have not meta person with these qualities to that extend for a very, very long time. Excellent job, Bernardita! I was also impressed by how easy and convinient the after hours return was, using their return option in app. I was done in 10min - detaching the trailer, signing in my account and confirming the trailer was returned. The trailer had not been cleaned for at least a month. After having laboriously filled out the on line registration and and made a plan to digitise and attach copies of my licence, they were again captured at the desk upon registration!! What's the point?? Also was unable to add damage waiver to the online registration even though it seemed to offer it.Colin L.

I got charged for the gas tank level not same as when I collected the van. It's definitely unfair since I've stopped to gas back up precisely the same a mount. I noticed it too late to bring it up to your employees attention. Rest was good, but skimming me an extra $14,87 was unnecessary.Andrey F.

I find it odd that the attendant said if I didn't wash the truck when I brought it back I would be charged $150. I've never once rented a car/truck/bike where cleaning the outside of the vehicle before returning incurred a cost.leon B.

i have experienced a history of U-haul not following through with delivery of equipment at the location and as per the reservation. My reservation was with the Vancouver location on Marine Drive SE Vancouver. On friday evening I called this location to confirm that my reserved equipment would be available. the call rang through to the central reservation department with Uhaul. I asked the uhaul representative to confirm that this location had the equipment. after a very lengthy period on hold, the agent confirmed that the equipment was available. I asked her directly is this means and that she has confirmed that my reserved equipment was physically present at this location. She answered in the affirmative, confirming availability. Not 12 hours later i recieved a call from Uhaul central reservations informing me that my equipment was not available at the marine drive location and i would need to pick up in North Vancouver.. i do not think Uhaul was honest in how my reservation was confirmedon the Friday night. My rating of the Uhaul location in North Vancouver is not impacted by the failure of Uhaul centrally and the Marine Drive location, however overall i am not satisfied with Uhaul's honesty and corporate ethic. It is not the fact that i had to travel accross Vancouver to pick up my equipment, but rather the lack of honesty.Hank V.

First off went from Vancouver to Winnipeg and got pulled over cuz I didn't have m+s tires or chains for the mountains and got a ticket and when dropping the truck off they screwed up my bill and tried to say I owed 31 000 on top of the 4 000 I already paidâ€¦ never will use Uhaul again ans tell everyone and show them what happenedDEREK B.

Stairs only, no elevator. The passcode I was emailed is incorrect and I was given a card and it doesn't work. I was told on my second visit not to worry about the security code and just walk up the stairs . When it comes to the actual check in for the storage unit, everything was fine. But the problem was that I also rented the uhaul van because I was moving. I was informed the morning of my move that the van is no longer available. They switched me to the pickup truck. I called uhaul and said that I can't use the pickup truck, as it's too small for some of my furniture and it was going to pour rain all afternoon. I canceled the pickup truck (and the rest of my day was a nightmare as I scrambled to find ways to move my things) and asked for the $50 I get if my rented vehicle isn't available. The woman on the phone said that I couldn't get the $50 because they're offering me the pickup. She was argumentative and dismissive. She eventually agreed that I should get the $50 but she was rude. They have no respect for their storage at this facility. They literally BLOCK ACCESS to the storage by parking large trucks all around it!! There's ALWAYS a truck close to the storage where the staff is unloading stuff from it. Also on a side note, I once called this location from home. I was on hold for 20 minutes so I decided to drive up to the location... 15 mins later I get there, and I'm still on hold on the phone. There were no one in the office but the front desk person... he had the phone up so it doesn't ring... I'm like why don't u answer the phone... I've been on hold for like 35 mins. He's like this thing rings too much... I need a break from it... unbelievable how rude he was. I tell you, this is one of the worst managed uhaul locations U can ignore this, or do something about it. Go undercover if u have too... the level of crap your customers have to put up with in this location is unreal. Unprofessional. Do u want them carrying the uhaul name with such disrespect? This Uhaul experience is the most unexpected in a negative way. Firstly, the Uhaul Manager requests me to pay a $710,11 towing fee that I never order, and I never observe the towing service. It was extortion. The towing fee bill the not bill to Uhaul or a bill to myself. It was billed to a non-related third party, except has the truck that I rented's information. Many people rent that truck from time to time. I never request a towing service or observe a towing service. A towing service during the rental period also covered under the insurance contract as well. Uhaul has its own towing service under the contract if towing required. The Uhaul store manager said he paid the towing fee to a third party, so he needed to be charged to my account. It is unreasonable. I suggest the manager. I am afraid a third party was playing the game behind the scene for the sole purpose of financial gain. The RCMP and related organizations needs to investigate this type of Economic crime that takes advantage of the business and innocent people for the sole purpose of organized crime's financial gain.Emily Y. | Expérience générale
I had an emergency to leave where I lived..I had looked for 4 hours for a rental van. I came upon Uhaul main st. They were so helpful and supportive. Immediately, I had a rental van and a locker. I moved out because there was mouse poop all over my unit and stuff with absolutely no food or traces of food anywhere in my unit. It didn't get into any of my stuff after inspection, but poop was everywhere. I spoke with the manager and he didn't really have anything to say about it, very much a "what do you want me to do about it" mentality. I asked for help cleaning it up as I didn't have proper cleaning supplies and mouse poop is really dangerous for women to clean without proper protection, and the person he sent just wiped it off with a rag onto other stuff in my unit. One blanket needed to be thrown out because it was coated too much for me to feel comfortable to get it home to wash it. One lady, who was wonderful, apologized several times for it, but the manager didn't seem bothered. I moved my stuff out the next day because I had some very expensive books, furniture and linens that I cannot risk vermin ruining. The manager telling me that he'll clean the floors with peppermint oil more frequently to keep them away wasn't comforting and clearly not working.Stephanie B. | Expérience générale

I had a storage space at this location for about five years. In that time my monthly rent rose by more than 20 %, which seems rather steep. My biggest issue is getting access onsite with a vehicle. Beings as it is a truck rental location the lot is very congested and it became highly inconvenient to gain access to the storage entry. The people onsite are very friendly but the experience became too much of a hassle to take things in and out, which I have to do from time to time. Just my experience.DAN D. | Expérience générale
