Overall I got the service I paid for but wish the process went alot smoother. In fact I was sold a lock for the back of the 15ft truck I rented that did not even fit after the gentleman who was behind the counter told me the lock was for the back of the truck to prevent theft. I would like a refund if possible. Please let me know how I can do so. Also, I had to pick up the truck at one location and the tow dolly at another location 20 mins away. I understand inventory might be low but it was definitely not ideal.

Finally the trailer was in very rough shape with significant wear and tear on the body, nearly bald tires, and an overall very run down appearance. I will think twice before using uhaul next time.

When we realized my box was still bolted shut he drove all the way back on what I assume was his own time off the clock to come and take the bolts off for me. I really appreciated that. I rated the staff a NO due to my experience with the phone customer service. I was very annoyed because I had called Uhaul to provide them with a new card to charge my box to. They were able to charge 1 installment to it but then they “lost†my card information and charged my old card instead. I was on the phone for hours with Uhaul and spoke to multiple different people who kept transferring me and no one wanted to help me. They told me they could not find my card information I had provided them previously and that I needed new information or they weren't going to deliver my box. HOW do you lose someone's credit card information that they provided to you over a recorded line AND were able to make a charge on previously. It was absolutely ridiculous and they pulled money from the wrong cards account.
Francesca P.I originally reserved a 9' van at the location in Barrio Logan, San Diego (2209 National Ave) on Thursday June 16th at 10am. After picking up the van there was zero gas in it so I was able to make it the nearest gas station. As I begin pumping the gas, it ends up all over my shoes and legs because the fuel hose was cracked and leaking all over. I return the van immediately and a 10' truck is available to use, but come to find out that the fuel hose was cut in that truck too. The attendant calls another UHaul location in National City (1300 Wilson Ave). So I have to call and Lyft rideshare in gas covered shoes, an unexpected cost due to the lack of maintenance of the Uhaul vehicles. When I get to the new location the employees there didn't really care for what happened and actually charged me more than my original quote. The attendant at the Barrio Logan location told me I would get a $50 discount because of the experience I had so far and the National City store did not follow through with that promise. Very unpleasant experience overall.

I made a reservation to pick it up and the specific location didn't see the reservation when I called. They were nice and set it up the day before but then I showed up the day of and nothing was set up. I had to wait for them to pull my box, put it on a trailer and hookup the trailer to the truck. I talked to like 4 different people and everyone seemed shocked that they didn't see my reservations.

sydney C.The truck came with only a 1/4 tank. It is impossible to return a truck with a quarter tank. I ended up losing $100 in gas because of this. Another inconvenience is that as soon as you get the truck you have to go to the gas station. Uhaul should require leaving the truck with a full tank so that the next customer gets a full tank.
Nathan S.I rented a 26ft truck but came with only quarter tank. When you pick up a truck it should be ready for a trip not have to go immediately to the gas station. The problem is there is no way to leave it with 1/4 so you end up giving back free gas. Uhaul should change their policy to require leave the truck full.

I told them I gave it back with the same gas as they gave it to me, WTF?! They corrected, but again almost caused me to miss the closing time to drop my car off at the dealer service dept. Better than the Tempe location, but not much. I've used UHaul for years, however I doubt I will again!!!!

At 415 PM someone called me to say I had an unpaid balance and they would not release my containers until it was paid. The person who called also said they couldn't take my payment and I had to call another number to resolve it. After waiting on hold with the other number for 45 minutes, I finally got through and was able to make payment, and around 5 PM the boxes finally got released. The moving help said they were waiting there at Uhaul since 1230...... WHY DID NO ONE CALL ME BEFOREHAND TO STATE THIS WAS AN ISSUE??? WHY WAS THIS NOT KNOWN UNTIL AFTER THE DELIVERY WINDOW?!? The website indicated my account was up to date, I got an email notification in the morning that everything was paid, so I don't understand how/why this issue was raised so late in the day?????? Ramon V.The staff at this location was very helpful and is the only reason I've rated my review this high. My overall experience with this process was terrible. Someone from corporate didn't submit my reservation to access my Ubox and almost delayed my entire cross-country move. I had to sit and wait for 2 hours for someone here who thankfully went out of their way to make up for the mistake as I had to pack everything into my box that same day. Then my Ubox showed up 3 days late from when it was a "guaranteed delivery" date. I even had extended the time longer than the 2 weeks needed. Overall, the only seamless aspect of this process that wasn't stressful was the at-home drop-off and pick-up. The driver who dropped and picked it up was nice, helpful, and efficient. If you're planning on doing a Ubox move, I highly recommend an at-home delivery as it is not worth the hassle of dealing with having to make a reservation every time you wish to access your Ubox and having the potential issue I had with someone messing up.

After seeing a few roaches, i lifted up the rubber lining, there were hundreds of roaches. I called the store and no one was answering/returning my call (hoping someone could drive me a replacement van as I could not leave my boxes unattended). After 20 mins of no return call, i decided to drive back to the store as i was in a severe time crunch. I had to return my boxes back up to my 5th floor condo so they would not be unattended, which set me back even more. While the store gave me a new van, they mentioned they would take care of the billing. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the inconvenience and lost time delayed me receiving the new keys and unable to complete my full move. * when I was onsite at the store, the folks were nice and attempted to be helpful, which is why this is not 1 star. -Bryan

Once my Uboxes arrived at the end destination I had tons of trouble coordinating with Uhaul to pick up my stuff. Almost every time I called I was left on hold for way too long, hung up on, or transferred to another line that left me on hold again. I ultimately got my belongings but it was frustrating, time consuming, and unorganized.

The staff was rude every time I called, changing the payment dates (I switched jobs in between the time I was in San Diego) was terrible as you had to "Move Out" and then pay the day you want to "Move In" which no on has time to do. Terrible experience and the facility was disgusting with dead insects on the ground and apparently we had to pay extra for better cleaning but there's no improvement.

In National City CA, (a town that get only 12 inches, of rain a year) a major roof leak shouldn't, happen. That's poor and deferred maintenance; that cost me hundreds of dollar's, plus inconvenience, With return trip to town, to handle it. The whole floor flooded. Myself and a lot of renters, suffered greatly. The alarm system works sometimes and is not dependable. It work when I first moved in. But, I asked for help, with and received, a cold shoulder. My unit, I was dark, so I would bring flash lights. Ms Sabrina Felix, is a step above, most people in customer service, and suggested I get a dolly because my truck had no ramp. Returned to retrieve my storage items and was expecting some type of storage damage. ie rodent, mildew etc. To my amazement, my stored items was just as I had originally stored them. This card malfunction also caused us not to be able to enter the facility after hours, which difficult when working during the day. While it was nice to get the first month free, it was more hassle than expected.

We called the general manager to advise of the issue and was told there was nothing that could be done Sunday evening so I had to drive truck back home. I moved my stuff to my storage Sunday evening and was not able to unload my rental truck and received no help until the next day. The worst service I've ever encountered with a truck rental and storage facility. I had to take off of work the next day losing a day's pay to resolve the issues caused by your company and I am extremely unhappy with your service and will comment on yelp as I always do with "terrible" customer service. Last but not least I was given a truck that had absolutely no gas in it and my first stop I had to make was to a gas station which was also my first experience with a truck rental company.
