navella B.When the pods were first delivered, you guys gave me a window of 12-4 pm. At 415 PM someone called me to say I had an unpaid balance and they would not release my containers until it was paid. The person who called also said they couldn't take my payment and I had to call another number to resolve it. After waiting on hold with the other number for 45 minutes, I finally got through and was able to make payment, and around 5 PM the boxes finally got released. The moving help said they were waiting there at Uhaul since 1230...... WHY DID NO ONE CALL ME BEFOREHAND TO STATE THIS WAS AN ISSUE??? WHY WAS THIS NOT KNOWN UNTIL AFTER THE DELIVERY WINDOW?!? The website indicated my account was up to date, I got an email notification in the morning that everything was paid, so I don't understand how/why this issue was raised so late in the day?????? Extremely unhelpful customer service, I will never use Uhaul for anything like this ever again. W.T. Actual F.

Ramon V.The staff at this location was very helpful and is the only reason I've rated my review this high. My overall experience with this process was terrible. Someone from corporate didn't submit my reservation to access my Ubox and almost delayed my entire cross-country move. I had to sit and wait for 2 hours for someone here who thankfully went out of their way to make up for the mistake as I had to pack everything into my box that same day. Then my Ubox showed up 3 days late from when it was a "guaranteed delivery" date. I even had extended the time longer than the 2 weeks needed. Overall, the only seamless aspect of this process that wasn't stressful was the at-home drop-off and pick-up. The driver who dropped and picked it up was nice, helpful, and efficient. If you're planning on doing a Ubox move, I highly recommend an at-home delivery as it is not worth the hassle of dealing with having to make a reservation every time you wish to access your Ubox and having the potential issue I had with someone messing up.

I had to waited for 2 hours until the one unit was empty for other customer. In the storage didn't have enough cars to move the stuffs. The truck I picked up with 1/2 tank of gas and I returned with 1/4 of tank, they charge me for full tank. They service with the storage manager was amazing but the nonsense charges was really bad.

arturo A.The first rental van I received was infested with cockroaches. I found this out once I got home and began packing boxes into the van. After seeing a few roaches, i lifted up the rubber lining, there were hundreds of roaches. I called the store and no one was answering/returning my call (hoping someone could drive me a replacement van as I could not leave my boxes unattended). After 20 mins of no return call, i decided to drive back to the store as i was in a severe time crunch. I had to return my boxes back up to my 5th floor condo so they would not be unattended, which set me back even more. While the store gave me a new van, they mentioned they would take care of the billing. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the inconvenience and lost time delayed me receiving the new keys and unable to complete my full move. * when I was onsite at the store, the folks were nice and attempted to be helpful, which is why this is not 1 star. -Bryan

I did not notice till I loaded my vehicle on the trailer. My trip was going to be below 35 mph, and decided it should not be much of an issue. Other than that everything else was perfect!

KEVIN L.Uhaul was helpful at first when it came to locking in a new customer, however things went south from there. Once my Uboxes arrived at the end destination I had tons of trouble coordinating with Uhaul to pick up my stuff. Almost every time I called I was left on hold for way too long, hung up on, or transferred to another line that left me on hold again. I ultimately got my belongings but it was frustrating, time consuming, and unorganized.
Kendall S.Employee seemed like he did not know what he was doing. Even showed him a reservation and he seemed clueless. Took about an hour to get my trailer. The first trailers light system didn't work. The second trailers lights would turn on and off if I hit a bump in the road. When I returned the trailer. Same guy never checked it in and I had to call in to get the problem solved.

Tyrone M.This was the single most miserable retail experience I have had in decades. The reservation system was Kafkaesque. When a truck was finally brought to me, the attendant advised I "just keep it running. The ignition does't really work." Of course, I didn't leave with a defective truck, but it took another 45 minutes to get another vehicle. This is now way to run a business.

Gerard M.1. Never put an untrained new worker on a register. My pick-up process took 40 min. My worker knew nothing of the process and made me stand there, unable to do anything, while customer after customer was quickly taken care of by manager on adjacent register.. He did not communicate. He asked where did I want to return? I said Fountain Hills. Unbenownst to me, he put Scottsdale on contract. I asked are there pads on the contract? He said no. He was wrong; he put one pad on the contract. He simply printed contract and handed it to me after 40 min. He gave me a total. I asked what was I paying for? He did not know. Manager had to itemize the amount for me. DO NOT GIVE OJT WHEN A FORMERLY HAPPY CUSTOMER HAS A TRAILER TO GET HOME AND LOADED!!!!! The young man has potential, but he had no training. No walk-through to inspect damage was even suggested. Sliding door needed lube badly; dry as a bone. Rusty outside door hardware same; I lubed it at home.

Francisca A.During the start of the pandemic to when I moved out, Uhaul's process was a nightmare while they raised rent due to the pandemic while other company's were helping their customers save during trying times. The staff was rude every time I called, changing the payment dates (I switched jobs in between the time I was in San Diego) was terrible as you had to "Move Out" and then pay the day you want to "Move In" which no on has time to do. Terrible experience and the facility was disgusting with dead insects on the ground and apparently we had to pay extra for better cleaning but there's no improvement.

And so then we had to drive to national city where they were really helpful.

He also handled a situation with a confrontational customer in front of me very well. He maintained his composure, was respectful, and didn't let it affect his service to other customers. Great Job!

Also, I don't believe I should have to give you all my info, to include a credit card as the person on the phone insisted, to get rates and availability information. I just wanted to know how much the equipment was and if it was available, but kept getting asked for my credit card for about 5 minutes. Finally gave up and just drove down to the location.

In National City CA, (a town that get only 12 inches, of rain a year) a major roof leak shouldn't, happen. That's poor and deferred maintenance; that cost me hundreds of dollar's, plus inconvenience, With return trip to town, to handle it. The whole floor flooded. Myself and a lot of renters, suffered greatly. The alarm system works sometimes and is not dependable. It work when I first moved in. But, I asked for help, with and received, a cold shoulder. My unit, I was dark, so I would bring flash lights. Ms Sabrina Felix, is a step above, most people in customer service, and suggested I get a dolly because my truck had no ramp. (2 of my items were well over 125 pounds each). Ms. Felix get a 5 stars rating. Bye for now Mr Thomas Mccullough P.S. Ask me about my U-haul, truck rental that I returned on 12/11/2021

Returned to retrieve my storage items and was expecting some type of storage damage. ie rodent, mildew etc. To my amazement, my stored items was just as I had originally stored them. This place is Awesome, their facilities are the best I have ever seen. They truly have Pride and Professionalism in the care of their facilities. Not to mention the Excellent customer service. I think their maintenance and cleaning crews deserve a much needed raise for their contributions to the Uhaul brand.

We ended up getting new cards nearly each time which was frustrating since the cards didn't work-even after employee assistance. I personally went 5 times to the office and my husband went at least this many times if not more as well just to get access to our unit we prepaid for in advance. This card malfunction also caused us not to be able to enter the facility after hours, which difficult when working during the day. While it was nice to get the first month free, it was more hassle than expected.

We called the general manager to advise of the issue and was told there was nothing that could be done Sunday evening so I had to drive truck back home. I called the owner of the company and left a message and still have yet to hear from him after leaving detailed gripe. I moved my stuff to my storage Sunday evening and was not able to unload my rental truck and received no help until the next day. The worst service I've ever encountered with a truck rental and storage facility. I had to take off of work the next day losing a day's pay to resolve the issues caused by your company and I am extremely unhappy with your service and will comment on yelp as I always do with "terrible" customer service. Last but not least I was given a truck that had absolutely no gas in it and my first stop I had to make was to a gas station which was also my first experience with a truck rental company.

I asked if there was any sort of discounts for military members since I am deployed and needed a place to place my stuff since we no longer have a house in San Diego. The representative said no they can't do anything for me even though I let him know I could send him proof I am active duty and my wife had her dependent ID. It's unfortunate but I understand that some companies have no respect or empathy for military families. Overall just getting this short term and will move my stuff somewhere else first chance I have.

Moving is always so difficult, but you made it so easy. Antoine, who owns Brains and Brawn Moving and Packing in San Diego highly recommended that I use the U-Haul at National City for all of these reasons. I understand he is at your location almost every day.

When management changed I for an email that said they would not be offering that discount any longer. I asked why and they said because they have a new manager and he doesn't want to honor it. I was pretty upset. I told them I would leaving the facility and I was told that I would have to get my stuff out before the next bill due date or o would be charged for another months even though it was going to be only 2 days past my due date. I reserved a uhaul truck to remover my things and when I got there I was told that I would have to provide a phone number of someone I know that wasn't with me to be able to get in touch with someone I'd I stold the truck! She said that they get a lot of trucks stolen from that area, National city, and that is a policy there. She said that they would HAVE to be able to tak to someone and if they didn't answer the call I would have to give them another number for someone else! I was so upset to be accused and called a thief but now on a Saturday morning at 7am they want to disturb someone I know who doesn't even know anything about my move to verify they know me and will be contacting them in case I steal a 15foot uhaul truck!?! The woman at the front was very rude and highly unprofessional she does not know how to explain policies without accusing or offending a long time customer. After I told her how ridiculous this was she said or my manager can sign off on it. I said ok I would like to tak to your manager he came out and was very aloof and didn't seem to care about anything and he said the same thing until I said but she just said you could sign off on this and then he said "ok" and then walked away!!! After getting the truck i was told it was ready and it had the keys in it so my son took it and went to the back to start unloading my things and then an associate parked behind my car with another uhaul truck and said this is your truck. I said that we already have our truck but he literally could not understand what I was saying and when he finally got it he said I will walk over there and drive the truck back to the front and as he walks away he said very loudly the F word very angrily!!! Unbelievable! It also did not have the dolly that I rented either and when I went back in to tell them the same woman said just Take one that is displayed in the front outside, very unorganized and not helpful at all. So part of my experience at this location was great with the old manager. They are now very unorganized and don't care about their customers. I am so glad I am not giving them any more of my money. I have used uhaul for years but now I will go to a different company for all of my moving needs.
