My previous experience with a U-Haul 10 foot truck included a pull out ramp. This provided truck did not have a ramp and it was much more physically difficult to load and unload the truck. A warning light came on during part of my trip which stated that the truck required service for the traction control system.

The girl that hooked up the trailer for me and showed me how to do it did not know what she was doing. the trailer was really loose and when I got home I watched a video on how to do it. She had not done most of the things explained by the uhaul person on the video. I had to re-secure it and it operated much better.

Lot was very dark. Hard to tell where to go. The personnel never got up from their seat behind the counter. No one was outside. There was a very strong smell of marijuana inside and out. Two days later I received a call, asking where I parked the truck. They never said they were with U-Haul until I asked. Then they proceed to ask me for the truck number. I told him I didn't have it front of me, but could probably find it in an email. He put me on hold, then came back and said, "we found it". Seemed very strange. Due to my experience with this location. The next time I need a moving truck or trailer, I will be looking for an alternative.

Your app for pick up is deplorable which puts extra work in for the guest and the employees. You are UHAUL and this is 2024. I have rented UhAuls many times over the last 3 years and if I have a problem it's used with your APP!!!!!!! Make it USER FRIENDLY. IT WOULD BENEFIT YOUR BOTTOM LINE AND THE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF YOUR BUSINESS AND REPUTATION!!!!! It would help your employees be less stressed and constantly battling challenges for more use of their time to FIX the problems the guest has because of the APP!!!!!

The only problem that I had was with the size of the unit that I was able to get. When I first rented the storage unit I rented a 10x10 but had to change to a 5x5 because that was the one I had to get for the free month storage offer. Well that size was two small for my queen size bed so I had to get the 10x10 which ended up costing me more money, that I was aware of when I first rented the unit but not upon arrival to Ohio. I guess all ended well with me getting the larger unit, it just was an inconvenience of having to come up with more money when I was already waiting on a refund from U-Haul for the first tracker rental. Long story short, it wasn't the fault of U-Haul in Ohio, they were great, the problem was with the online booking. Very stressful.

The person waiting on us was also working with somebody else. The checkout time took more than it should have. He was the manager and knew what he was doing so he was helping the others as well. They had staff changes well we were there but they seem to take over quickly. They set up the trailer nicely for us

I still haven't received a receipt and it has been a day already!! I have a hold on funds that is incorrect amount and no one has resolved the yet!! The truck had cigarette butt in back can along with some other debris! Staff was nice though and it was quick check out without reservation.

The first truck that was given to me had a check engine light on and the AC was not working. I brought this to the store workers attention and they said " that it wasn't a big deal and that everyone's car has a check engine light on" , they treated me very poorly, printed the wrong contract and they were pushing for me to take the first truck, even though I was going to be driving it for over 5 hours. As my brother and I were leaving the workers were amking fun of us for wanting to switch vehiclesin general my experience at this location was terrible and the staff is very unprofessional.

Set pickup for mobile at 7:30am. Got there at 7:45am and tried to unlock the key but the app wouldn't work. Tried to call and live chat customer service for help but were told there was nothing they could do and we had to wait until the store opened at 9am. The service we got was also rude. This made us push our event back because we were not able to set up on time.

Truck was not ready for pick-up. First truck I was given had a Engine Service needed light on. The second truck they gave me had such a dirty windshield that vision was impaired. I had to take the truck to a carwash to clean the windshield. The hand-truck and mats were not ready for me. I arrived at 1:15 PM and I took until 2:05 before I left with the truck and the ordered supplies. The truck leaked when I drove through a rainstorm. Contents got wet.

The truck AC was messed up, the windshield had gunk all on the inside it was hard to see. It smelled like marijuana and there ashes in the cup holder and lighter. Truck was dirty and not maintained

The trailer we rented to tow our vehicle caught on fire. I feel I was overcharged for that vehicle as well as the one that I got to take what little we could salvage from the vehicle. I will never use UHaul again

The truck was not clean the truck was raggedy running raggedy the engine light kept coming on the dash lights were not working so at night you couldn't see how fast you was going or anything it was just the most horrible experience I ever had inside the the chairs were had slits in them like they had been cut or something it was just the overall terrible experience and no I would never go to that one maybe another one but never that one

I am/my business has a 15 year relationship with the E. 5th Ave location, first off. Hence, the process of renting from you all is not foreign. At the checkout counter, the disposition of the agent was rude from the jump. She acted as if she didn't want to be there..Her greeting, slack and not welcoming. As I told her who I was, and I had a pick up, she ask for credit card and drivers license and begin to tell me what need to happen with uploading my Dr. Lic...and by the way, we can't use this card.... PNC BANK WITH MY NAME AND THE BUSINESSES NAME. I ask why, and she said she couldn't use a debit card and 3 times showed me a sign on the wall.... She proceeded to say you need a credit card, like Discover, Capital One...as if I didn't have one...at thus time a guy walked out of the office, only to see the girl agent roll her eyes and shake her head....again as if I was a bother.... I WISH YOU CAN PLAY THE CAMERAS BACK TO SEE HER INTERACTION. AS as business owner, I would have walked her out, terminated..

Please make sure that employees check in a truck when it is dropped off . There has been multiple times that I have been charged for days I did not rent truck this has happen a total of 4 times at this location,by. Same manager

I tried to drop off a trailer and was told to go to another location since their location was being overwhelmed with returns (it was very busy). An employee gave me a location which ended up being a local walking trailhead. I went to the nearest UHaul location to the trail head listed in Google Maps but that location was no longer a UHaul location. I went back to the 1314 E 5th St Columbus location and a different UHaul employee said he would find room for the trailer and checked me in (he was helpful). He said the previous employee who gave the wrong directions was probably the manager on duty - which seemed unlikely.....

I tried to drop off at my contracted location of the Victoria Village Market. They would not accept the truck. The people behind the counter were not helpful and did not offer any solutions. We're more interested in selling booze and bongs than he.pong a U-Haul customer. "We do not work for U-Haul". Had to research and find a new location. Several people also were in the same boat as me in trying to drop off at the Victorian Market with similar results. U-Haul better get their act together with this Victorian location. Terrible experience and I will lean towards Penske the next time.

I rented the truck online and paid one rate. Was supposed to pick up the truck 5 minutes from my house but the representative that called the day before said we had to drive 20 minutes (past two other uhaul locations)to pick ours up. Upon getting there, they charged us double what the online price was and was unwilling to help. Will never rent from uhaul again.

We rented out a storage that already had a lock on it. We didn't notice until we had unloaded our belongings and couldn't place the lock we received from them on. This caused us to leave are unit unlock. They stated they have cameras. Came back the second to unload as they also told me it would be taking care of and it wasn't so I brought this to there attention and a nice lady help me out and had to taken off. And it was by construction which made thing hard to unload our stuff there was a lot of debris and dirt blowing towards us.

On 7/6/2024 @ 7:00 am in the morning, spoke with Michael sales agent to rent a unit (storage). Info that the necessary unit.# 1133 was available, but needed to be clean. Asked me if I could come back about 12 noon, informed him that 1 o'clock would be all right if pressed for time. On 7/7/2024 returned to find out unit was not clean. Had a large old oak dresser, a huge granite, slate, a large bucket of semi gloss, wall, paint, and broken glass plus trash left behind. Seen a sales clerk(Noel) I asked him could he provide mop bucket and dust pan so I could immediately start cleaning up. He stated, " he be right over after he finished with his client. Son, returning with the needed cleaning products, he'll began assisting. I had already removed the drawer, wall paint, and trash but couldn't remove granite being extremely too heavy. Mister Noel eventually assist in the removal. Staying there until I finish cleaning the unit, I think him for his great assistance. He is a great asset to your company, another African, American young lady tried to assist. Truly I wouldn't come back if it wasn't for having a previous storage and Noel. Sincerely Mr. Derek M. The woman at counter believe her name was Deidra gave all kinds of attitude when I rented a U-Haul and then I went back and rented this unit and wasn’t informed that the unit was supposed to be free because I rented the truck so I paid for a unit there was no lock in my unit she threw a fit because it was part of my contract that there be a lock

I am not sure who the customer service rep was that helped me on 12/29/23 evening roughly between 3:30-5PM, but she went beyond what I had expected, which is why I rated my experience so high. I was having some issues with accessing the building, so I had to keep bothering her (my words, not hers) and each time she explained in clear details what to do, and this was much appreciated because at this point I was going to leave and come back another day! Thank you for everything. Blessings!

I had my storage unit at 1314 E 5th for several years until I moved out of town. It was always very secure, easy to access, & everything was well maintained! The staff was also great & when my key broke off in my lock, they even gave me a free new lock! I appreciate everything they did there to be very friendly & keep my belongings safe & secure!

I called to confirm move out could not get anyone in office. Called 1800 number, who could've get ahold of office either. I was told everything would be ok. Yet I was repeatedly billed.

I was having issues paying my bill for a few months. I finally got a job but I had stopped receiving calls and emails from U-Haul. About a month ago they emailed me saying they couldn't get in touch with me and that my things were auctioned off. However if they couldn't get in touch with me how did I receive the email. Also, the close date for my unit is the 1st of this month which still means that I could have set up a payment plan. Of now they're telling me I just have to pay and I don't think I should have to pay considering they lied saying they couldn't get in touch with me. I am TROUGHHLLY dissatisfied as disappointed wit my experience. I WLL NOT be recommending U-HAUL.

The staff at this location, 1314 e 5th Ave, Columbus, OH are the most helpful, professional people I have met anywhere at any business. I am so thankful for their customer service skills and care; that really relieved the stress I had from the move.

The 2 employees at the East 5th st location in Columbus Oh we're amazing!! They even helped me unhook my car from the tow dolly and walked me through the after hours return policy. I have always used uhaul and will continue.

UHaul actually offered me a climate controlled unit for the next day and when I showed up with my movers, they claimed all sorts of company policy, and suggested I should pay for the lock removal. It was a pathetic handling of customer care. I won't be recommending this site to anyone.

Unit was free of debris and no piles of dust or dirt present. Lock was secure and access was easy. A shower of dust or some other fine particles came down off the garage door each time it was opened but there was no obvious source. All in all a very good experience and the female manager who checked us in was outstanding!
