I reserved a 26ft 2 week ahead and everything was screwed up. At the end, I had to go to Redding to pick it up. What a joke this company is.

Four documents were provided via email. Three did not have any blanks filled (signatures, license plate number and such). In the event of a claim, U-Haul could easily claim the forms are incomplete and thus invalid. That is pretty poor but then again, who knows - it could be by design. As a retired office manager, I always scanned the signed copies to givea copy back to the clients. Also, I was told that my appointment time was 9:30. I arrived and it was disclosed it was 3:30. I was not informed via phone or email about this. That is very poor customer relations though, they did have me out by 10:30. It is 50 miles one way to this dealer. If I ever need to deal with a U-Haul dealer who puts hitches on, I will recommend to my friends to head to Medford Oregon or get a mechanic to do the job. I am not satisfied with my experience today at the location on Cypress in Redding CA.

When i made this reservation this place didnt have it. So they said willows. Ok then hayfork. Ca hade on i was ok with it. But then they put me back to Redding. So i drove back80 miles to get trailer in Redding at 10. They say its not there till 1. I told him it said 9 and i could get it at 10. Well he walked back and looked and it was there. But was never ? in. This has been my only time this ever happened to me

This locations customer service was the exact opposite from what I felt with in Sacramento on Broadway. The people were kind helpful seemed like they wanted to get me on my way without rushing me out the door. They were all very friendly and kind. I will definitely come back to this location

I have filled a detail complaints against the general manager and a staff member at this location. It was one of the worst customer services I've ever received anywhere. I was insulted and cussed at by the general manager and staff because of some miss understanding from my reservation representatives at uhaul. Please go to my complaint fill for details.

I would recommend simply because it's easy to access and has a lot of resources for moving. But the service is pretty terrible. People are friendly; it's just that I always had to wait a while. Also, the person who helped me with the car carrier told me that I didn't need to use the safety chains on the car (just the wheel wrap things). I was told later that this was very bad advice.

My car broke down north of Reno NV (on 395). The car and U-Haul had to sit on the side of the road overnight. I got a call from Casey (a field manager in that area) just checking on me to see if everything was ok. That meant a lot to me that she would care enough to find out who it was and call.

When I arrived to pick up my U-Box it was busy, there was a huge line and Jose was so good with the customers, letting us know he was working as fast as he could. It put everyone at ease. The vibe was calm and helpful. When I returned the U-Box about 10 minutes before closing, the employees were avoiding eye contact with me and one reluctant rep came out to help. He was grouchy as fuck. He wanted to piss and moan about protocol and how and when U-Boxes are supposed to be returned. He wanted to know who helped me in the morning. He certainly unhitched and received the trailer, but he was not happy and it was a completely opposite experience from when I picked up. Jose was a superstar. This guy? Just the opposite.

I find that some of the employees at the Red Bluff CA uhaul make the experience of renting very tedious. They appear not to put the customer first and they can be misleading. I realize rental businesses and other businesses have many rules that must be followed, which I have no problem with, but this also allows for the employees to become assholes, (for lack of a better word). This is just my impression, I realize it only means something if some percentage of others have had the same experience. My last experience at the Redding CA uhaul on Cypress was fine.

I was charged for two days of rental even though I had the trailer only 23 hours. I feel this is wrong.

When I arrived to pick up my uhaul it was kot ready and I had to return 2 hrs later to pick it up. When I did pick it up, the tires were low and when I mentioned the tires were low the staff informed me that the manager at the location had checked the tires himself. The next day the tire was flat and I had to call toad side assistance to replace the tire. A second tire was completely bald and had to be replaced with road side assistance during the over 2,000 mile trip. The uhaul trailer was installed so that it scraped the ground when traveling over any speed bump and had to be reconnected. I rented a dollie and the uhaul employee did not send it with me. I had to make a separate trip back to pick it up after loading had already begun. I found the customer service at uhaul in Redding, CA to be very poor and highly untrustworthy. I’ve already shared this experience with friends in Redding to help them avoid the poor service of uhaul that made a cross country move more difficult than it had to be. Anyone who wants to travel safely should avoid renting from the Redding, CA location.

Whenever I called the location, they let it ring through to the call center. Then the call center would give me information that didn't always match what the people on location could do/would do. The call center was friendly. The people on location were helpful. They just got their wires crossed once and it led to a very long process for me to pick up my U-boxes. In the end the people on location worked it out. This location seem understaffed. There is often a long line and no one answers the phone. The people there seem to be doing a fine job.

Tanner Forman is an exemplary and valuable employee and I'm delighted to bring him to your attention. Not only did he provide me with excellent service - my truck was ready-to-go, just as requested and Mr. Forman was clear and kind in telling me what I needed to know about it. More, though, while I was waiting in line, I heard Mr. Forman dealing on the phone with an obviously angry customer who was quite insistent and demanding. Mr. Forma was informative and tried to be helpful in the circumstances. He was also consistently kind in both his words and his tone. I don't know that the person on the other end of the line was satisfied, but I was really grateful to see such kindness in front of me on a Saturday afternoon at U-Haul. I will definitely be back. I hope you appreciate Mr. Forman's value to your company.

Never, never, never present a rental vehicle to a customer that is filthy inside and out. When I saw the cargo van they had pulled up for me I had to go back in to the office and get them to clean a completely muddy interior mat. They did not bother to wash the running boards that were also muddy. The entire van had dirty black streaks all over it. I took pictures. Was afraid they would charge me for it. Unbelievable. There were several clean vans there that they could have rented to us.

The windshield wipers sucked. It was only a 15” box and I could hardly get it to go 60 on the highway. I also feel like 89 cents a mile was an insane price. My bill was over $500 and I had it less than 24 hours.

It started raining while we were loading the U-Haul and water started pouring into the back! About 2” of water collected in grandmas attic and soaked the bottoms of our boxes and mattresses! We unloaded and took the truck back to get one that didn’t leak and the cashier said “they didn’t tell you that one leaks?” I can’t believe they knowingly rented us a leaky truck on a rainy day. They also said they noticed we were trying to call but were too busy to answer the phones. Very disappointed with the level of customer service here.

The truck had a cracked window and Mom's attic was leaking and I had to repack a bunch of boxes. I also had it loaded but was told it had to be back by 0930 so I unpacked it and brought it back and then was told I could keep it. My move was one of the worst of my life. Everything went wrong. Scott the Manager at 255 E Cypress Redding CA. was very understanding and made compensation for the trouble. His kindness was the nicest part of my move. This man is destine for greatness because of his ability to be direct regarding policies but understanding of problems. Thank you Thank you.

On line dispatching was a total nightmare. Verbal contact said trailer was in red bluff. Verbal address given listed it in Redding, Ca. The first place said their computer was down and they could not dispatch. The last place was 205 E. Cypress. After abt 2 1/2 hrs of online calls we got out of the lot.

The service was excellent, equipment very good. Highly recommend this location. I did try to add 1/2 a day to my contract but only 24 hr rental is available. As a 63 year old 4’10” woman who is alone, things can take longer sometimes. 1/2 day rental would have been helpful. But business is business and I do understand.

Long lines to pick up reserved vehicle. Prices inflated during peak demand, like air fares. Tires had grooves but no tread, truck got stuck and we had to pay for tow. Reservation for cargo van made for a pick-up in error. Called to correct and confirmation email still showed pick-up so had to call again.

Got pulled over because tail lights on the left side of the trailer kept going out and flashing was overcharged $18 now my bank account is overdrawn $18 plus the $25 overdraft fee because they charged me for furniture pads and a hand truck that I didn't need I usually come to U-Haul for a lot of stuff that I need this is the second bad experience I had at this location I told them I don't need the insurance I have my own they still added it on there but I'm guessing this will not change my perspective about you all you guys have a great company some of your locations are just bad and need a better management system forgot to add they gave me the car trailer facing the wrong way U-Haul employee seen me trying to pull out of the parking lot decided to park the U-Haul straight in front of the area I needed to pull out then proceeded to walk away and ignore me did not have any assistance backing up my trailer all the way through the sign of the U-Haul building just to try to get out of the parking lot

The check in was horrible! When I walked in there was 10 people in line and NOBODY was behind the counter for at least 10 minutes. I have never seen that happen before. Another customer said that the same thing happened the day before. One guy, whom I call fuzzy beard, even took a personal call and walked outside to talk. Is this what your organization is all about? Anyway it took me an hour to complete the check in.

Staff are so very friendly and helpful. There were no pickup trucks available upon our arrival. As we were exiting the building, the young gentleman who had been behind the counter. Ran out of the building, telling us a pickup truck just got returned. We got rented the vehicle which was really nice, comfortable, and has many new features like decking assistance with camera! We are very happy with the Redding. CA Uhall.

I went online to rent a car dolly. The site claimed that my vw golf GTI would work with their equipment. Mind you my car is stock nothing has changed it's been the same since I had it since 2000. Long story short car didn't not fit, it started ripping off my bumper. The car was level the ground was level. Went into the office not even 40 minutes later telling them it was not working with that dolly. Nothing but, did you put it back where you got it and have a nice day. Well thanks for nothing and enjoy my money, because I really didn't enjoy the dolly...

Avoid uhaul like the plague. Uhaul's incompetence took nearly 3 weeks to deliver my ubox. An associate gave us wrong information leading to delays. 3x the scheduled delivery dates were missed.

Returned calls go to the call center. Every time. U Haul is a disorganized mess. Have not received info from UHAUL that my contract has been completed. 1 UBox came with forklift holes. A mess.
