The key chain is too big which encourages people to leave the key in the vehicle instead of putting the key in their pocket Perhaps a push button start with a credit card size remote, or some kind of a remote style key, that a person can keep in their possession can be easier to reduce the temptation to leave the vehicle with the key in it. Cargo van uses a lot of gas but really has the pick up when needed! We almost had a horrible wreck the guy coming on the fwy a commercial tanker just came at us we were u able to get in fast lane only choice was use the white line in ctr of van and step on it! It got us ahead of on coming truck we only has inches on both sides of the van! It would of been a a Hwy 5 pile up!betty Y.

I had to return a truck about 30 minutes after its return time and I called to ask if i could bring the truck back late without being charged extra, the person on the phone was nice and didnt charge us anything but what was already owed. I reserved a truck, and the truck was not there and would not be there for over 2 hours. I came from out of state, and was told they couldn't guarantee the time of a truck.?! They offered my a different truck in a different town 40 miles away ?! Beware.gregory M.
The trucks alignment was off and made it dangerous to drive. It only had 1 reverse light. When I returned the truck I was met with sarcasm and rudeness from each employee that helped me. The employee named Bryson called me a dick twice and was extremely rude. I will never rent from the location in Redding again. I am very unsatisfied and honestly really disappointed with the way I was treated at your establishment. If I could have a regional manager reach out to me that would be awesome.Ryan R.

THE GENERAL MANAGER SCOTT is an awful human being, he's the big guy with short hair, you can see a photo of him in the photo page on main menu of uhaul Redding. he was so disrespectful and it made me never wanna rent there again, he deserves to be fired for how he treated me. DO NOT RENT AT THE REDDING LOCATION ON CYPRESS! I towed my car to sac from Redding and I called one of the locations in sac to see if it was okay if I can drop off the trailer so when I go back to Redding I won't be going 55 because of the trailer. The sac location said it was okay and I thought everything was good! I then wanted to pick up my car from sac a week later so I rented a truck and a trailer from the Redding location and once I got there they said I owe $300, after 30 minutes of wait time i then found out, I didn't take it to the right location, i then said that I didn't know and that the sac location said it was okay. The employee I was talking to was really mean, he said that the manager Scott said I couldn't rent there anymore cause he doesn't trust me. The employee was a darker guy that kinda looked like young Morgan freeman, he was getting really angry with me and I said I wanted to talk to the manager, the manager SCOTT came out and said â€œtell me what he saidâ€ like I was in elementary school, he was really mean and he kept said that he doesn't care about the fact that I paid $300 for MY OWN MISTAKE and I shouldn't listen to Sacramento. He then lied about the wait time for picking up the trailer from Sacramento, he said it took them 3 months to get it back when it was only a week. So I left really upset. I called me buddy to rent the truck and trailer and my buddy said he can do it, my buddy walked in and the manager looks up MY FACEBOOK and types in his name and asks him if that was him, my buddy said no and the manager said GET OUT! It took my two days to finally a reservation at other locations cause my name was flagged and put on E-alert, I finally managed to succeed at the cottonwood location after 30 minutes of wait time to take my name off of OF E-ALERT( which btw my name and my buddies name is still flagged) After everything I just want my money back and I want the gm Scott to get demoted or fired for the way he treated me and from the looks of it ALOT of other guests that tried to goto uhaul.Forest T.

We were given a 26 ft. Moving van that had two tires that had to be replaced in transit plus all the tires on the car trailer were not at the correct pressure. My husband was assured at picking up the moving van that all the tires were in good shape. We made a cross country moving trip from Ca. To Tx. The situation could have resulted in the tires blowing out and a roll over. We have contacted customer service and we're told we would have a response in 3 days and have yet to hear from them.Ron G.

We rented an outdoor drive up unit and had all of the space we needed. Due to an upcoming project at the facility we were asked to relocate or move out and help was offered. While it wasn't ideal to move so quickly, we would have e stayed another month at least, the offers of help financially and logistically was appreciated. The gas tank is supposed to be half full at pickup and was marked so on the contract, but it was a few gallons short of half full. I have found this to be almost expected from Uhaul.Brandon L.

We had originally ordered a 20' truck and then when we went to pick it up we knew right away that it would not be big enough. But we were able to locate a 26' truck that had just been turned in but not cleaned yet. Somehow in the 10 minutes it took us to get to the new location, they had it ready for us. I have given a 5 star rating because of your great staff and rental facilities but honestly don't feel comfortable recommending your storage. It was very uncomfortable moving in because the area is so unsecured and totally open to anyone. I had transients walk through just in the short time I was there unloading and there is garbage and signs of transient use behind my unit. I really think you should consider fencing the area and allow access only to customers. That being said I am grateful to have a place to put my things and for the free month that came with my trailer rental. There was miscommunication somewhere. My order was mysteriously canceled and I had to call to fix it then I was never told it was an indoor storage unit up a flight of stairs and that was NOT what I needed(the redbluff uhaul storage set up was what I expected) And the redding location doesn't honor the free month and they had such limited availability they couldn't even give me the correct size. Ive never had any issues renting trucks and equipment but my experience with the storage aspect really tainted my trust. I reserved a storage unit several days before moving but when I got into town I was told by a somewhat robotic and unemotional employee that there were no storage units available and my reservation which was confirmed via credit card and email was not in their system. It's completely unacceptable. The toilet in this facility also constantly has feces all down the back of the toilet bowl. Line was very long. Staff was kind and helpful. Kept telling me about the access card swipe doent work and to just ignore if it errors and just go to the unit. Not alot of confidence in the security offered seeing as anyone can ignore the security and just come in. Have a drive up unit, which was sketchy. About half way through my stay, a Uhaul rep called me and stated they would need to cut my lock off to install new security system. I gave them approval as long as they put another one on and left me a key at the front desk. After my wife tried to get the key she was told they would never do that. After about a week of trying they finally came out to remove the lock again (assuming we locked ourselves out) and came to the realization that they had the key in one of their drawers up front. Pretty disappointed at how much of my wife and I's time was wasted. Facilities are incredibly expensive compared to local storage.Andrew J. | Expérience générale

The local UHaul staff and knowledge is great. The local staff are very helpful and go above and beyond. The phone system and national UHaul experience is horrible. The wait times are excessive. Every call is transferred to at least 3 other "departments" and sometimes you MUST go to the local UHaul to have your question answered or need resolved. Corporate is terrible. Local is amazing!
