The truck was in terrible shape. The gas tank was more or less empty . The gears didn't stick and I had to keep shifting them into drive or reverse out of neutral. I was about 45min late Tom picking up the truck and so the app didn't work. Miserable experience all aroundKrishna P.

The staff at this return location failed to check my trailer in when I dropped it off. When they got around to it, it was after my return time resulting in me being falsely charged for being a day late. This is unacceptable business practice and I have disputed the charge with my credit card comps. On Monday I will report this location to the bbb and the Redwood City chamber of commerce for their bad business practices.Rob K.

Van performed well. Left turn signal needs replacing because it blinks too fast. Right turn signal is normal. Cleaner used on the floor of the cabin is very slick & that's not good. It's like ArmorAll or another tire dressing was used. Tires looked good since tire dressing was used on them. Overall experience from reserving the van online to returning it was good. I asked for a trailer suitable for hauling a vehicle. I picked up the trailer and when I got to the location I discovered that a vehicle could not be loaded due to the configuration of the back gate. caused delay and inconvenience. as I was not able to take an additional two hours to return it I rented from another location and was told there would be no refund..Robert C.

We rented a filthy trailer. How long ago was Burning Man? A week! This trailer was covered inside and out with silt (a.k.a. playa dust) from Burning Man. Not cool. I asked the guy hooking us up if we could get a clean trailer. He grunted and carried on. We were in a hurry after waiting in line (we went through the online pre-check to expedite) so we accepted it. Upon return, I was told the power washer was broken. Ever heard of a broom?! The poor rating has nothing to do with the facility. It was great. You earned this rating by not honoring my 30 day vacate notice. You tried to charge me for another month, and your site mgr., (Mr. Lopez) I think, didn't respond to any of the 4 email replies I sent him and also copied U-Haul, referencing my vacating the site. He only attempted a text communication after he realized you were sending this questionnaire to me. I have been so upset, I couldn't reply till now. I hope this is a one-off, as I hadn't experienced anything like this with U-Haul before. The staff was so disrespectful and didn't listen to any requests. In fact I made 5 calls on the day my ubox was supposed to be delivered but they didn't bothered at all. Moreover, whole San Francisco Bay Area has only one driver to pick and drop the boxes. This is very strange. So poor service by redwood uhaul centre.Anil K.

Impossible to improve. I was in and out in less than ten minutes picking up a motorcycle trailer. This is the second time in a months that the Redwood City rental location was so efficient. !! They do it all.. hooking it up and the rental agreement.ROBERT P.

Took a few minutes for the attendant. Then I had to move the trailer to another spot from the drop off designated area. Then he left a safety cable attached that jerked my truck and the trailer. Need to make sure all are disconnected.Arthur T.
Please have someone fix the air conditioning system at this location. It's been an extremely hot weekend and the employees shouldn't have to work in those conditions. I was only in there for about 10 minutes and was sweating all over. I can't imagine working in that heat the entire day!David T.

i made reservation for round trip at $143 for 3 days including 406 miles and agent doesnt want to honor it and changed my reservation and charging me over $600. i did the online pick up and got another truck the following day which already ruined our moving time. i did not talk to the redwood city agent this time and got the truck. i returned it online and since there wasnt any key drop off. i had to go inside and it was the same agent. He asked me to move the truck where the online drop off stated and drive it to the regular drop off. after returning the truck 2 days early and returned it with the exact gas range (i had pictures of odometer and gas range) i was charged extra for the gas. very unprofessional agent and had to be trained big time.nilo P.

Staff who manage/maintain the truck and equipment seem to keep things clean and working. The past two times I've made reservations there have been hiccups. That might be more to do with the online reservation process than this location in particular. Only thing I've had a negative impression is seeing a car parked in the reserved handicap/disabled parking space without a tag or placard. I'm assuming it's someone who works at the location. Customer service has been hit or miss -- either they know what is going on and help with a smile or they seem completely aloof and/or disinterested. I'm looking forward to a visit where it's smooth, easy-in easy-out. Upon return it was the easiest I've ever had. They told me you can leave the keys in the truck and you're good to go. That was the best news I've ever had at a U-Haul. So, overall mixed bag at this location. Likely will try again here since it's the most convenient for me. I'm optimistic things will improve. Lots of good people working here based on the interactions I've had. Some of it is just dealing with U-Haul. Yes there are some personalities I can see who probably don't or shouldn't be working there but that probably isn't the majority of folks. Anyway it's U-Haul, I don't expect special handling or kid glove care. I'll give it a B+ grade. Merci.Ronald P.
Renting the truck in the office was okay... Counter hep was great. Dropping the vehicle off was not good... no one acknowledged I was even there.. tried to return the vehicle through the app... after 35 minutes a guy came up and told me to wait for this other guy... who did ask if I finished the return process by the app and then said told me I can go?? When I entered the building with my walker, I had to move a cart to proceed to the cashier. When I came back to return the trailer, I waited for the U-Haul employee to give me directions on where to put the trailer. After waiting for awhile, I just drove up to the entrance and parked close the the entrance door. I walk in and this not very friendly guy is looking at his cell phone. He asks if he can help me. I said I'm returning a trailer. As I go out to my vehicle, the guy that saw me but never acknowledged me, comes over and finally asks if I wanted the trailer unhitched. I said yes. And to start this off. I book the trailer online in Redwood City. They didn't have one so I booked it for Belmont. I drive to Belmont that morning to be told that the trailer was now to be picked up in Redwood City. Which is just 2 blocks from where I live.George G.
The truck I was given had many mechanical problems and sounded like it was about to fall apart. The climate control shut off at any slight touch of the gas pedal, which is not pleasant on a 100Â° day. The lock included with the truck was broken and staff refused to replace it or provide me with a truck that has a lock. This is a safety concern for my belongings. On top of this, the staff was not helpful, and borderline disrespectful. They acted as if I was an inconvenience to them when I asked any questions.Benjamin D.

The vehicle windshield was filthy and the right side view mirror was not adjustable. I attempted to adjust the mirror but it made it worse for it was locked in one position. I got some soap and water and wash the windshield and the Sideview mirrors so I would not crash into someone.Tom S.

Van had no gas and one tire was almost flat. Inside hasn't been cleaned and had a prior customer's dirty blanket and box debris inside. Agent refused to provide a different van. Another worker could not fill the tires and so it was only then that he just provided a different van. Took an extra 30 minutes. Sloppy work.John S.

I highly recommend using U-Haul storage facilities. There are many pluses and some negatives. On the plus side it is not expensive, conveniently located, lots of space for the price and accessible 24/7, the one-month free feature is a great bonus. Like with everything else involved on Uhauls side of my move, things were not at all what was requested. I requested and reserved a certain sized storage unit. When I arrived , I was told it wasn't available, but I could have a 4x4 unit. I explained thay I had a one bed apt full of goods, and needed the bigger unit that was promised me. I was then given an 8x8(?) Unit that was still too small for my belongings. I had to get an additional 4x4 unit. Now I'm stuck with 2 payments a month. Uhaul has played bait and switch with me this entire move. From the first truck and trailer that was switched out and too small, to the storage. Also, the movers that uhaul listed ended up tearing my mattress when they forced it into the storage unit, then scratched up my dining chairs.James A. | Premières impressions

Reserved a bottom floor unit, and the website showed me that there was one available. Got to the store to see the unit and had to wait a really long time for someone to even come to the counter, then was told that there were no more bottom floor units. I had just moved here so I didn't really have time to look for another storage unit on the spot ( which was probably a huge mistake) and decided that this would have to do. I had auto-pay set up, and even got emailed receipts, and after having just paid rent, I got a notice that our rent had not been paid and was told our unit's lock had been removed and a notice placed there as well. I had to go to the store and show the email to have that taken care of, only to find out they had lost my original lock, so I had to get another one. When we finally got a new unit somewhere else, I noticed that there were water marks on some of our things that weren't there before, so something had to have leaked or sprayed onto our things. I'm glad we were able to have at least some kind of storage for the time being, and for what it's worth, it was secure and nothing was stolen or damaged. The employees, when there is one available, are very friendly. Not super happy but it wasn't the worst possible experience.Miki H. | Expérience générale

The instructions were great, and staff was friendly. The unit was clean enough, but we did have to pick up dinner trash and hammer down a few staples that were dangerously sticking out. The most important part was that our unit did not measure 8' by 6' which was absolutely surprising. It was 7,5' by 5,25' which made a huge difference for us. We packed up an 8x6 area at home to figure it out, and when we showed up, the unit was noticeably smaller than advertised! Hey there. Please give me a call when you get a moment. My rep Jailin was doing her best but she was ill, sneezing (yipes with Covid), and exhausted when she helped me this afternoon. I was promised an 8x8 unit and rolled in with a moving van and auto transporter, 1 way reservation. I had to get the car off myself, outside the lot because it was so hectic and understaffed inside the gates. And in the end... (cue the sad muzak), the storage unit I was promised was double booked. I drove for 2 days, had follow up calls confirming the unit was available just to find out I couldn't store my stuff at this location once I arrived. I'm going to use the remaining days of the use of the moving van but am very nervous about what comes after that. Please, if you would, call me so we can discuss my plan B for where to store my belongings if I run out of time. P.S. I know covid has wreaked havoc on communication and software systems and therefore not everyone has the best and latest information, but it had a severe negative effect on me during a major move in my life.
