Biggest problem with your company is that it’s impossible to reach a human being when a problem occurs. I simply get bounced from person to person for HOURS anytime I call in to request information (where the U-Box is, can someone ship it to my location, can someone pick up the box after I’m finished with it... by the way, all of which did not occur on the scheduled date and time as promised). Again, delivery is always late, whether it’s from Calgary to Rochester, or from Rochester storage facility to my apartment, to you picking the box up after. I end up wasting money on hiring movers, but since the box never came on time, I’m forced to send the movers home after paying them already. However, the biggest problem again is lack of communication, the impossibility to reach someone for help unless I’m on the phone for hours, which, combined with your unreliable delivery times, makes the U-box service utterly worthless. 0/5 if I could rate you this low.

15foot truck had 99k miles on it, when loaded it had had extremely hard time making it up normal highway inclines. U-Haul's equipment return app SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED! I have a Galaxy S10+ and the app would not let me upload the photo of the dashboard. Customers need to be clearly and consistently advised that if they are unable to utilize the app to just leave the keys in the key box. I called store manager, and have yet to hear back from him. I called the help line, was transferred, andbsst on hold at the U-Haul facility for over 30 minutes because I had no idea I could just drop off the keys. Finally got in touch with president who explained I could just drop off key. This was not a pleasant experience.

Would be nice if you had a line for people that have all the paper work filled out on line. We often wait for an hour for people that need to fill out all the paper work. I now get to the location at 6:30 AM and stand at the door so I'm first. Takes me 5-10 minutes and I'm gone. Takes longer to hook up the trailer than checking in.

This was one of the worst service experiences I have ever had. The staff was unfriendly, unorganized, using swear words, had poor attitudes and messed up our rental orders.

My husband and I moved across the country from Florida to Minnesota, which was a long journey to say the least. Not only was the staff at the Rochester, MN location helpful, they also went above and beyond to assist us and give us great advice to help our moving experience. We were having some issues turning the large trailer around in their drop off lot at one point, and the staff eagerly helped us and spot checked, even offering to move some vehicles to help us get out! I have a long career in customer service based management and I have never experienced such loyal and caring staff than in this location, I am truly impressed and will definitely be using uhaul in the future as we continue to move in the future. If I could give these guys above an excellent rating I would in a heartbeat!

I’m not sure if I would recommend this location. The pickup was very slow—just two people working. They were polite, but couldn’t keep up. Credit card readers were not working. They had to enter the info manually. He took a picture of my license on what he said was his personal cell phone. He said he would upload it to your system later. The return was worse. A man was waiting by the propane tank for help and I was standing by my truck, as instructed. After a long time in the sun, an employee suggested we come inside, but he wasn’t able to check me in. He tried to fill the propane tank, but couldn’t do that, either. This left one woman to check in the man ahead of me, go out and check his mileage, rearrange the trucks, and solve the propane problem. Then the same for me. Again, card readers were not working. I requested an appliance dolly in my online reservation and got only the regular dolly strapped in 15' truck. I mentioned it again at desk and they said it would be in the truck. It wasn't. There is a difference in dollies, and it make my move more challenging than it needed to be.

So.. On a cross country trip and wheel bearing went out. Obviously not maintained as when tow truck came it was rusted thru and no repairable. Had to go out of way to get a new trailer. Cost us 4 hours of time. Not a good experience with uhaul. I do have to say however that the people on the phone are very nice.,

Wait time was long. The employee who helped me did not use the haul mobile device to scan my drivers license - instead they used their person cellphone and complained that the store's mobile device is slow. I am NOT comfortable with someone taking a photo of my license on their personal device.

I would give them 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fact that they sent the wrong hitch the first time. But I feel they made it right with a discount and speedy installation. This is the kind of customer service rarely seen these days. Great Job!

I had requested a 17’ and the person who helped me get the truck said all they had was a 15’ very nonchalantly as if he has no solution to offer or explanation. I figured it would work out anyway, however I did have to make a couple trips due to not everything fitting. I went back and explained my situation and the person who helped me there was very helpful, very little hesitation and didn’t charge me an extra day. Went from 3-5 stars with that one interaction. Thanks for the help with the truck and taking care of customers issues! P.S. it wouldn’t hurt to clean the bugs off the windshield before renting the truck, although I get it, it’s summertime. Also the truck seemed like it needed a steering alignment, pulled very hard to the right.

I booked the truck over 30 days in advance and then I had to drive 50 miles to pick it up at a different location. Then they charged me more money for gas even though it was less than half at the start and when I was done.

Long line and understaffed, slightly rude-- probably because they seemed very overwhelmed. While in line to pick up the vehicle I received a phone call from UHaul to tell me my truck wasn't available until 5PM. My reservation was noon. The person on the phone argued I did not have a "confirmed" reservation but I had made it weeks prior and of course, had a reservation. After waiting in line and then being shuffled from one desk to wait on the side-- twice-- someone finally explained the truck we were taking had not come back yet. The employee called me when the truck came in so we could come back again-- waiting in line again-- and finally get the vehicle. I plan to try to rent from other locations in Rochester in the future. We rent several times a year and it is usually a hassle with pick up. We have done the self-serve pick up in the past and it is slow and cumbersome so I did not choose it this time.

The Civic Center Location is a bottle neck. the set up for driving in and out stops all traffic when vehicles are being returned. Complete bottle-neck. mileage price was much higher than on the website. $0.79 vs. $1.19

Why do you have a 4'9'' opening on a 6x12 trailer with a ramp. Ridiculous. I scratched my UTV and brought the trailer back in an hour from getting it because it was unusable to me. Plus you actually charged me! I literally gave you $50 for nothing. Thanks UHaul!

I stopped in Wednesday (the sotre by Barlow Hyvee Rochester ) to make reservation for Friday (6/14). When I stopped in Friday, told me no reservation had been made . I showed the confirmation email from Uhaul and the current rep he stand he couldn't understand what happened but did help me get a rental truck. one hour later, a rer from another store called me and asked if I was going pick the reserved truck. Evidently, the rep that waited on me on Wednesday, reserved the truck by accident (or without telling me) to be be picked up from the other store..... not very good.. Typically this store is pretty good, but this experience was not.

The lot is ridiculous! You can't drive through, but have to drive back and forth to drop a trailer and even to get your tow vehicle out of the lot. Manager on duty was very condescending to the obviously new employee we were dealing with. With the one way trailer rental we got 1 month free storage and for a second time there were problems with this. Finally got a room, but was sent to the wrong site and the room already had a lock on it. Tried the other site and that one was open.

The only complaint I have is when I returned it the same day after your store closing hours.There were quite a few u haul vehicles parked one behind the other blocking the entrance getting. I barley made it through to park it.. There were big gaps between vehicles which backed the u haul vehicles almost totally blocking the entrance.Other wise I think you folks do a great job.

I had a terrible experience using uhaul for my move. I reserved my truck well I’m advance, chose the size that was appropriate for my needs and one day before my move was set to take place I was informed that my truck was not available and I would have to take a smaller one. Now has I been alerted well in advance I could have planned accordingly but because of this last minute notice I was forced to just deal with what I could get. This meant having to do an additional trip which is about a 45 minute drive and using way more gas than we anticipated. Drop off at the second location was easy and I can’t speak bad about that. Pick up was okay aside from the employees all seeming like they didn’t want to help us. I can’t see using uhaul again in the future if I can’t at least sort of depend on my reservation either being filled as expected or being notified well in advance.
