Raymond K.I tried using the mobile pick up option and was unable to complete the pick up. When I went inside to the counter, the folks there didn't appear knowledgeable enough about the mobile app to guide me in the process. I eventually figured it out and was in my way. Upon returning the truck, I tried again to use my phone for the return and once again ran into difficulties. I could not complete all of the steps to return the truck (photos of fuel and mileage wouldn't submit), so ended up just parking it and putting keys in the drop box. Once I got my receipt, I was charged for an additional 2 gal of gas, even though I had filled it to the same level as when I rented it the night before. I parked on a slight hill so it seems that they looked at the fuel level while it was on the hill and not when flat. I got absolutely nowhere when I tried to contact them. I waited on hold for 30 min and then someone from a call center somewhere picked up. He tried to help but couldn't do much of anything except try to speak with the aforementioned incompetent folks at the location in Rutland, VT. This is not the first time I've had difficulty with this process at this location, but it may be the last.

Sean B.The truck had a 1/4 tank of gas when we picked it up.. We returned it with a 1/2 tank of gas. They billed us for a 1/2 tank of gas stating the tank was full when received. We have pictures of pick up and drop off. The tell you that you don't have to do anything when dropping off and they will send receipt. They charged our card an additional 73,5 for the gas. I called to dispute and the woman on the phone said I needed to note the amount of gas at time of pick-up. You are told you need to return rental with the same amount of gas as when you receive the rental. We returned the truck with a 1/4 tank more. They are crooks and I will never do business with them again.
Michael C.Original move-in date 9/9/22. Clean out on 10/2/22. Access door broken, could not move out sofa. Rep indicated no charges beyond our one month rental would accrue. Door not fixed until 10/17; moved out sofa on 10/18. Continue to get bills via email and land mail. Communication on site has been pleasant and helpful. The interface within UHaul obviously very poor. We should not be getting "late fees" and "late bills". We did all as planned/requested. Please stop forwarding me bills and additional charges. Gene D. | Expérience généraleMy truck's rear door opened while I was driving on a bumpy road road in the mountains. I later lost personal items on the highways. When I asked the manager for help, she called me a liar and said that this doesn't happen on new trucks and that there is nothing she can do since its clearly my fault. She asked if she could then help me with anything else. I said no and the conversation was over 10 seconds after I said my personal belongings fell out of a U-Haul on a highway. I expect to not be called a liar aftet I had the traumatic event of losing personal belongings on a state highway. This U-Haul manager, at the Rutland Vermont U-haul facility added to my traumatic experience.
Daniel H.You need to get your national home office to do a better job. Dropped reservations, repeated, are an embarrassment and show incompetence. This leaves your local dealership looking like idiots. They're working hard. I should expect the same from the home office. Dropped orders create havoc.

Donnalee D.Please note that my overall experience would be rated near a 1 out of 10 due to a “bait and switch†regarding drop off location for this one way rental. I requested Springfield VT. My contract stated Springfield VT. I picked up the UHaul. When I called to get the drop off address missing from my contract, VT Uhaul over the phone agreed it was Springfield VT and there was only one UHaul location in Springfield to go to, and that I was all set. Later I received a message that I was assigned a drop off in Rutland, VT. The regional scheduling manager and her manager that I then spoke with refused to acknowledge my contract and played word games to indicate that I was obligated to drop off at Rutland. UHaul broke its contract with me and forced me, with a threat of extra fees, to at my own expense (mileage charges and time) to deliver the UHaul at a location more amenable to UHaul. Disappointing and insulting.

I dropped off the unit using your app with no problem. I only wish you had a location closer to Poultney ! 5 Stars!

Alicia M.We initially ordered a 26†truck from E. Middlebury storage and I called days before my pick up date just to make sure everything was ready. I quickly found out they altered my order from a 26†truck to 9†cargo van. I received zero calls from this company letting me know this and would have found out on the day of pick up if I didn't call myself. The cargo van wouldn't have fit my large items. The guy on the phone didn't want to help me and didn't care at all. I called Uhaul scheduling to see what they could do and they adjusted my appointment for 26†truck from Rutland which was was far away and cost me additional mileage and money. This wasn't fair to me as a customer when I confirmed with the local Uhaul in E.Middlebury weeks prior. We picked up the 26†truck from Rutland U-haul from someone with the last name Lear. We wanted to drop the truck off in E.Middlebury instead of Rutland as it was so far away. This person wouldn't let us do that and said they needed it back in Rutland which was NOT fair to us as paying customers. While talking to the associate at the desk the manage was yelling from an office that they rely on customers to move around their trucks and we basically had to deal. This was super rude and he should have come out of his office to talk to us. It was bad customer service all the way around. We tried to pay for the Uhaul with a split payment of cash and a card and was told we couldn't. It's 2022 and your system needs to be when we got the truck it was cold and smelled like some just smoked in it. Uhaul in Rutland also didn't prep the truck with the additional utility dolly and we were forced to get it ourselves. Overall, very dissatisfied with our service from beginning to end. I will not be recommending this service to anyone as I feel like we paid too much just to get terrible service.

OK, then I rented a cargo van to transport my stuff to new house (moved from Cleveland to Vermont) and when I rented the van, I got emails promoting a free month of storage with my truck rental. That seemed backwards to me, having gotten the units first and not told about the deal? Also, I paid for a portion of August as I moved in the third week, then the entire month of September, but I emptied the units on 9/12. DO I GET A REFUND on the rest of the month? The lovely people at the store said they were booked and so happy I was opening up units for other customers. HELLO. I paid more in the first place because the one 10x10 unit I needed was rented out from under me. Then I did not occupy for the full term. Please advise. The insurance company that is over my claim is taking forever to keep in touch with me and re-issue my money back for the stuff that was thrown away. I would not recommend using U-Haul ever again it was the worst Experience. When I got there to try to clean out my storage unit I had trouble with the lock politely went in there and ask for help and was told they are not allowed to help me I said to the lady I'm trying to clean out my unit I need help the lock will not open her boss said we have to call locksmith I said no you do not I have a code I will not open was very disrespectful going back-and-forth with me the Lady was just trying to help but her boss was very rude and disrespectful I would not recommend them ever again to anybody. The customer service just to get to the main location takes hours of waiting just to sit here and talk about something that Customer can't help u with.And customer service tells you to go to the location if you do not have a car how are you going to get to the Flippin location does not make sense.

She was very helpful, thoughtful in helping get the right size storage unit that I need. Even though Jeffrey did not follow the plan Danielle and I had made, Danielle was able to make everything work for our needs. She was amazing on the phone giving me options of not having to unpack a uhaul after being on the road for 3 days and with a broken foot. This lady is a true godsend!! Couldn't find a better person to help with your customers. Give her the utmost rating 10 out of 5. She goes way beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. You are truly blessed to have her working for Uhaul!!!

We have a heated unit, but it doesn't do any good if you can't get inside to your things. Paid for another month and the guy never apologized or gave us a discount for not being able to access our things and having to pay a friend to store some of our belongings because we couldn't get in to the unit.

I think they should have not Rented that unit out until it was cleaned the black spot on the floor was really a disappointment. I am kind of iffy if I would recommend this to someone else. Because like I said the storage had A black spot. To even open the storage unit was very hard. I had to physically go get the manager to show me how to open it. They should give you directions in the handbook to show me how to open the storage units.And others to know how do use the unit and close the unit.
