I was called 8 PM the night before my move to tell me that I had to go an hour and a half out of my way to pick up the truck. The location was changed from Bennington Vermont to Rutland Vermont which is roughly a three hour round-trip. I received wait times between 25 minutes and 50 minutes for customer service. Spoke to three people none of which could help. Have utilized U-Haul for pass moves but definitely will not be using them for any future needs. The staff member in Rutland was very friendly and tried to be helpful and none of these problems were her fault.
Imad Z.My day began with frustration. When I reserved on line all of my searches and questions were about the Rutland VT location. When I went to pick up the trailer the rental was from Lebanon NH! I had approved the online transaction without reading carefully and which indicated Lebanon NH, so that's on me. But why did the system push me to another dealer in another state? Very frustrating. And as usual my credit card for the purchase is billed instantly but the refund from the cancellation in Lebanon will take “several daysâ€.
Robin C.Communication problems at essentially every level. Booked a 2 day rental and when I picked it up was told it was only a one day rental. Then the person at the counter said they couldn't fix it and I had to call to add another day. Then I had to change the drop off location. I had to call three different times, got three different people, each person told me something totally different. Finally got it set up to drop off at a new location and got disconnected. I called back to confirm, got yet another person with a totally different set of information who said we actually couldn't drop it off at that location. Finally got a good drop off location and when we brought it in the people there said it was supposed to go to the original drop off location. Unbelievable. Truly, the worst customer service experience I've had in a while. Will not be using uhaul ever again if I can help it.
Hayley C.I was put in touch with the scheduler, Julianna and she personally ruined and sabotage my move. I would like a call back from u-hall. 401 480-4030. If she represents u-hall you should be very disappointed in how I was spoken to on two occasions.
WILLIAM D.I had over $30 in store credit from previous purchases/returns. When I asked if I could apply it to a 4-hour truck rental, the manager simply said "no." When I questioned the refusal since I had store credit and the requested rental was from the same store, her explanation was "we don't have a button to do that on the computer." You could tell they didn't care enough to make any effort and see if anything could be done, just lazy indifference.

Ernest L.9' van rental. Shudder on hard braking (warped rotor), pulled to the right, and had an engine miss under load (going up hill) when accelerating. Not a complaint about the service but a head's up that the location owner might want to service the equipment before he puts it back in service.

melissa H.I'm rating the customer service AT THIS LOCATION a 5/5. However, I had a terrible time in actually getting the equipment and it cost me significant time and money. When I booked online, I booked to pick up a Truck and Car Trailer at the same location. The week I have to pick it up, I get a call saying they're not available at the same location. So I get one address for the Truck, another address for the Trailer. A few days later, I get another call. I now have a different address to pick up my trailer. So now, I've been given three different addresses to pick up equipment. This was very confusing. So, finally, the day comes and I have to go pick up the Truck (in Philly), which was about 40min away from my home location (West Chester). The trailer was only about 15min away from my home location in West Chester. So, in order to make this all work, here was what I had to do: Uber to the Truck (furthest away; $60 Uber). Pick up the Truck. Drive the Truck to the Trailer location (closer to my home); Pick up the Trailer and attach it to the Truck; Drive back to my home to set up the car on the trailer by myself. Had I driven my car to the Truck first, I would have had to do an extra hour of driving to go get the Trailer, drive back to get my car from the Truck location, then drive BACK to my home to load the Truck. This was horribly inefficient, added extra time and cost to my day, and really put a bad taste in my mouth with UHaul. UHaul Credited me $50 but that is nowhere near enough to compensate for the $60 Uber and additional hour of driving. With the cost of gas these days and driving a UHaul Truck & Trailer... that's not a nothing amount of money spent.

Her and the staff were working hard, and putting up with a lot of disgruntled customers. Get these people more vehicles so they can accommodate customers. Once again; treat your staff at this location well.

Ronald S.The humans involved in the process were fine. The "reservation" process is a sham. U-Haul changed location at the last minute to a site 1 1/2 hours away. Every step of the transaction was changed. read the fine print, they say. U-Haul can improve by keeping their word when committing to a reservation - that is the word that was used in my "confirmation" email.

Susan D L.After reserving exactly 30 days before I needed the trailer, per UHaul online reservations, I was called 2 days before and told That they didn't have a trailer at my location in Burlington, VT, but that I had to drive TWO HOURS to Rutland, VT to get it. It completely screwed up my travel plans and cost me an additional $75 in gas to go get the trailer. This is outrageous-I will not be using or recommending UHaul due to this deceptive practice.

Lesley B.The facility had a pipe burst they took half of my stuff out and never returned it back to the unit. The insurance company that is over my claim is taking forever to keep in touch with me and re-issue my money back for the stuff that was thrown away. I would not recommend using U-Haul ever again it was the worst Experience. When I got there to try to clean out my storage unit I had trouble with the lock politely went in there and ask for help and was told they are not allowed to help me I said to the lady I'm trying to clean out my unit I need help the lock will not open her boss said we have to call locksmith I said no you do not I have a code I will not open was very disrespectful going back-and-forth with me the Lady was just trying to help but her boss was very rude and disrespectful I would not recommend them ever again to anybody. The customer service just to get to the main location takes hours of waiting just to sit here and talk about something that Customer can't help u with.And customer service tells you to go to the location if you do not have a car how are you going to get to the Flippin location does not make sense.

Even though Jeffrey did not follow the plan Danielle and I had made, Danielle was able to make everything work for our needs. She was amazing on the phone giving me options of not having to unpack a uhaul after being on the road for 3 days and with a broken foot. This lady is a true godsend!! Couldn't find a better person to help with your customers. Give her the utmost rating 10 out of 5. She goes way beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. You are truly blessed to have her working for Uhaul!!!

We have a heated unit, but it doesn't do any good if you can't get inside to your things. Paid for another month and the guy never apologized or gave us a discount for not being able to access our things and having to pay a friend to store some of our belongings because we couldn't get in to the unit.

I think they should have not Rented that unit out until it was cleaned the black spot on the floor was really a disappointment. I am kind of iffy if I would recommend this to someone else. Because like I said the storage had A black spot. To even open the storage unit was very hard. I had to physically go get the manager to show me how to open it. They should give you directions in the handbook to show me how to open the storage units.And others to know how do use the unit and close the unit.
